When they bring you the standard tortilla chips and salsa when you sit down... Surprise, they also bring you pork rinds (light, airy, and crispy). They also had no problem making slight changes to the entree to be vegetarian friendly. Food was served quickly, restaurant was full for a weekday; Wednesday. Plenty of staff on hand; servers were very attentive without being intrusive. I recommend this place.

Great restaurant experience! Staff seated and had chips and salsa ready. Served drinks immediately and took our food order quickly. Very clean and staff worked together along with manager to get tables served, cleaned, and cashed out. Seemed as if employees worked together for years! Definitely would recommend and return to eat!

We accidentally spilled a drink, and before we could call someone to help with napkins or a towel, 3 people were already on the way. One helped clean the table, one mopping and drying the floor and the other asking what we were drinking so they could get another one! That was amazing. Although we were passing through on our way back to Dallas, we will definitely stop by again and recommend it to anyone else. The atmosphere was clean and quiet!

Excellent food, at the ready staff, reasonably priced. Went back a second time in three weeks and it's probably the best place in town. Amazing food and service is always on par. Be prepared to wait at busy times, but worth it.

Kristine was spectacular. She was very sweet and very attentive. Food was very well served and very delicious. I loved the smokey flavor the refried beans have it's something I've never tasted anywhere else. It took longer to get us a party of 5 sat than it did for us to sit order get our food and eat. We did come right after church so the wait to get sat was expected. Our cups never went empty we got refills promptly and all other staff was very helpful. The only negative I have to say is I wish the guacamole was actually guacamole and not smashed avocados. It really didn't have flavor it was bland, but other than that everything was great! We will definitely be back next time to try the drinks we saw being served to another table.

The food is absolutely delicious and authentic, the best salsa I think I’ve ever had, the service was excellent, Christy was very attentive, my glass was always full, never had to ask for anything, the staff all seem to enjoy working together, it ran like a well oiled machine, as for the the restaurant, it is extremely clean, not overly cluttered like some Mexican restaurants, and the restrooms were very clean. Definitely worth the trip

I was craving breakfast, but they don't have a breakfast menu. However, I was able to add eggs to any dish I wanted. I was one happy camper, and I was able to order exactly what I wanted. Our server asked me if I had tried the Asado, I had not, and she brought me a sample. It was delicious & I'm definitely ordering it next time. The service was great, my coffee cup was kept full & the food was delicioso.

I have been here so many times over the years. The seating is fast, the food is amazing as always. My number 1 is the chicken tacos with rice and beans. Their red cheese are also amazing!

This place has some of the best service in the area. Food was great too! I loved the extra touch of chicharones with the chips and salsa. When we complimented the manager on the quality of service, he said, "We have great employees. It's all about the way you treat them." YES!! It's obvious they walk their talk. Thank you for a great meal.

Oh mamasitas. This is place is one of the best in odessa. Their salsa is AMAZING, and the have some of the best green sauce for enchiladas I've ever had at a restaurant. Their queso needs a retweaking BUT their staff is always on point. Each person is constantly coming to the table and asking if you are okay. Again this is a must stop! Get the green chicken enchiladas just make sure you have a drink because they are SPICY!! WORTH EVERY BITE!

I would like to post a review about a review written by Jonathon Garcia on this sight earlier. I have been waiting for that person that I was sitting next to, to actually do what he just did I’m a frequent customer to this establishment and happened to be there Sunday when this happened about 245. I am sure the owner won’t respond to this but I would like to set the record straight. I am more then happy to tell the whole story. My wife and I set there and watched your wife holding the baby most of the time and the baby continuously pulled on that box of plants. After about 10 minutes the whole box of plants crashed to the floor. Never once did you attempt to clean up the mess or acknowledge what had happened. You shoved it to the side and continued eating your dinner. The hostess finally came over and cleaned up the mess which I was polite enough to tip her for since you decided to stomp out of the restaurant once they made it very clear what was going on. If you will look at that sticker you posted it doesn’t state “cane plant” it states “salmon rose” again another statement you got wrong. If I owned the restaurant I would have gladly escorted you and your family of 6 that were at that table out the front door. The food has always been amazing, staff always going the extra mile. My wife and I get asked no less then 5 times each time we visit if everything is ok or we need something. So please before you want to sit behind your phone or computer and make false accusations, think about what you are doing or saying it effects a lot of people and this time they didn’t deserve it.

Okay, if you haven’t been to Mamasitas Mexican Grill in Odessa yet, you’re missing out! Right off the bat they bring you chicharrones with your chips and salsa, and honestly the chicharrones alone are worth the visit — absolutely outstanding. The chips and salsa were great too, but those chicharrones? Chef’s kiss. I started with a frozen house margarita. This really hit the spot, great flavor with decent tequila punch. For dinner I went with the two beef enchiladas with red sauce and wow, you can just taste that the sauce is made fresh from real chile pods. No shortcuts here — just rich, authentic flavor that hits different from anything out of a can or jar. Then there were the beef tacos, and here’s the thing that really got me — Mamasitas fries their corn tortillas in-house. Seriously, every Mexican restaurant should be doing this! The flavor and crunch are on a whole other level compared to what most places serve. Oh, and don’t sleep on the Mexican rice either. Super flavorful and the perfect side to tie the whole meal together. Service was also great during a busy Friday evening. Bottom line — Mamasitas is doing it right. Fresh ingredients, real flavors, and those little homemade touches that make a big difference. I highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed!

5 Star for sure! Got to try this place! It's been established for almost 20 years! You can tell why it's still there!! I've never gotten so many Genuine smiles from a staff! They were very friendly! The food was excellent!! Every bit of it! I had the chili Riano's with rice and beans and they were absolutely amazing. The chips and salsa were amazing. They also bring you Chicharron's.!! that was the first for me, but they were good as well. I also had one margarita and it was the bomb! There's no need for two that's for sure :) and then when we got the bill for two people, it was less than $60 I was in shock ! It was definitely worth every penny the only thing is to me. It seems like they need a larger restaurant. We did have to wait about five or 10 minutes which was totally worth the wait but they don't have a very large seating area. Other than that, I would definitely recommend to anybody.!

My husband and I tried this place for his birthday this past Sunday on recommendation from family. It was great! They were very nice and outgoing at the door, and sat us quickly. Our server was a sweet blonde girl, I can’t remember her name. She was very quick and made sure we had everything we needed. We were a little worried the food would take a while because of a large party they had sat in the front, but it came out fast! Great job all around, and whoever makes those sopapillas needs a raise!

My husband and I ate here during our quick trip through Odessa. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly. Ana was our waitress and was kind and helpful! I had a few questions about the menu and the dish I ordered. She didn’t make me feel dumb for asking silly questions haha! She was so gracious and accommodating! All the staff seemed to be just as wonderful! The dishes we ordered were delicious! I only ate about half of my food and had to get the rest to go. My husband ate his entire plateful and was satisfied. So I think the portions are pretty good. I also really enjoyed the salsa! The atmosphere was quiet, but not uncomfortable. We went around 3pm, so it was after any lunch rush and before dinner. Definitely recommend this place. Next time we are driving through Odessa, we will definitely be back!

We were on a quest to find good Mexican food while traveling through Texas and after a failed attempt, we had a wonderful meal at Mamcita's Mexican Grill. Hubby ordered and thoroughly enjoyed Erika's Flautas. It came with an appetizer of a quesadilla and guacamole. The main included four chicken flautas, refried beans and rice. He ate the flour tortillas from my shrimp fajita meal. Hubby told me that the beans were delicious and that the chicken was well seasoned. I ordered the shrimp and vegetable fajitas. The sizzling skillet came wih shrimp, peppers, onions, carrots and zucchini. The meal was made with more oil than I use at home but it was a really nice meal. I ordered a Skinny Margarita, of which I saw when when i looked at the online menu. The manager came to our table and informed us that it was no longer available. She suggested a tequila based coctail which had Topo Chico, tequila and something else that I can't remember, and a salted rim. I can say that the drink wasn't the best that I've had but I appreciated the managers attempt to give me something on the "skinnier" side. It was the last night of our vacation and I wanted a cocktail. The ambiance was nice. We felt really comfortable, our server was attentive yet not intrusive. The walls had neat murals. And the wait wasn't long at all. Overall this was a good dining experience and I would recommend it to someone riding through Odessa.

First time goin- on our way through Odessa. Glad we stopped! Staff was welcoming. We were seated immediately at a large table. Chips, salsa and pork skins served. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. The place was very clean. It was attractive inside with open space and natural lighting. The queso was good and served in a boat. Ordered shredded chicken quesadillas- very good and happy about how they were cut (easier to eat). Bathrooms were very clean.

This place was a super quick stop with well priced food. Most dishes you get a little baby appetizer along with your chips and salsa, this defiantly set this place apart as far as value goes. It was so simple just to do that tiny bit extra but made the whole meal much more enjoyable. Plenty of parking. There are alcoholic drinks available but no sit down bar that I could see.

I really like Mamasita's. The service is very good. The chips and salsa are fresh and delicious. Parking was easy. This is my 3rd time to try it, and it's consistently solid. I highly recommend it.

Food was pretty alright, I got the queso enchiladas, but the cheese just tasted like Velveeta, good but not really what i paid for. Husband got the green chicken enchiladas and the chicken made him sick (or the spice did). Service is great, drinks always filled and the waitress made sure to say when something was spicier than usual. Pretty good experience!

I love the food here. My family has come here for years. Ordered a to-go order today in house (chili verde plate with chips and salsa). The hostes was very apologetic for the wait time as they were very busy and gave me a free sweet tea which was great. Got home and realized I did not get any salsa (only chips). Im a little disappointed but will return as the food is always delicious.

We usually don't enjoy Tex-Mex restaurants, but food was good. We ordered the chicken tampiqueña and tacos. The chicken was juicy and had good flavor. The beef on the tacos was soft and flavorful. They have an amazing menu for kids, very kid friendly. They had really good service, our waitress wasn't as friendly, but she did a good job. Prices are reasonable for the big portions.

The queso with beef wasn't all that great. Meat had no flavor. Just ground meat flavor and cheese. I'd go back for the service and the cucumber chilton (sp). That beverage was delicious.

Do it for the food. Our server didn't look too happy to be working there or serving us for some reason. But of course, put a smile on right before bringing the check. The food was tasty and portions were, enough.

I've been coming here for many years, and they rarely disappoint. Today, they were just off of their game, I guess! We were the first of three tables to be sat down. The waitress must have been confused because we were the last table to be served. When she finally got around to take our order, she noticed I was upset and stated, "I'm sorry, sir, but I've got other tables"! Without any prior warning, no signs posted, no verbal warning, I was told that they weren't serving my favorite plate! I ended up ordering the combo fajita plate, almost under duress, even though that is not what I wanted! When the fajitas arrived, it was a sad sight indeed! I counted 4.5 stripes of beef fajita, 4 stripes of chicken, two pieces of bell pepper, and what seemed like an entire onion! The taste of the charro beans was off, and my guacamole was brown! Like I said earlier, this place rarely disappoints, but today was one of those days.

Fajita's were very skimp on the meat, no peppers at all, just huge onions. Also tried the Chile Verde and Asado, was ok, definitely had better! Food was over the top hot. I like hot but this was a little ridiculous. The staff was very nice and helpful, that's the best thing going. Would probably not return. Still hungry...

The waitress and others were walking back and forth , we had to get her attention and did not get greeted when I first came in. I went here for the first time the other day. Sarah was our server and she was awesome! Service was fast, there's a nice atmosphere. Food looked good, the queso was good, but as far as our main course I wasn't impressed. Although the food was presented nicely and the portions were generous, the food was lacking seasoning, it was just so so bland. The prices are pretty high compared to most Mexican restaurants.

Food and service at the table were great! However, the split ticket “owner policy” for a large party is appalling. You shouldn’t make us, your paying customer split the check the way it should have been split. That is a service that should be included in the $200 bill that was paid. This is avoidable by training your server to communicate better. Erica and John also need more training. They shouldn’t be making comments like “owners policy” and “he signs my checks”. You appeared to be management, act like management and take accountability for the policies and procedures you decide to follow. No Erica, it is because of us your paying customers that you even get a paycheck.

So had kind of a bad experience our waitress was a bit rude I asked for shrimp and fish soup she repeated shrimp soup I told her a 2nd time shrimp fish soup and she brought me just shrimp soup when I told her about it she got upset and told me that I said shrimp soup only after I clearly told her twice I got witnesses lol anyways I guess she don't like me cause the refilled everyone's cup but didn't ask for mine after it being empty on the table for a while place is nice the food is ok the soup was kinda mid not all that shoulda ordered something else the shrimp in the soup were small and it's the frozen one not that good.

Another waitress had already been by to drop off chips and salsa. After she took and brought my order, she was at my table every couple of minutes to see if I was finished. They weren't busy because there were three couples and another lone diner in ther besides myself. I placed a to go order and went to get change for a tip. When I turned around, she was standing there with my to go order and what was left of my order. I was just trying to have a relaxing meal. They seemed to be in a hurry to get people out fast. The waitresses I have had there before weren't this impatient. It will be awhile before I'm back.

We are in town for a funeral of a family member and chose this place to eat. Biggest mistake ever! The prices are very high for small portions. The food is extremely bland. The salsa tastes like it is made with cucumbers. And beware, if you ask for spicy salsa...you will be charged $3 for it, without any warning. It has no spice to it and is very bland too. And they will refuse to take it off your check. On their menu it says if you order it, you will pay for it. They are a joke. They know their food tastes like rubber and so they cover themselves before hand. I've never been to a restaurant that says such nonsense, and we should have left with that warning. I don't recommend this place, not even for those that could eat baby food because they have a bland palate!

The atmosphere look decent, food smelled great, but when the plates came out from the kitchen 1 plate was hot the other fajita plate came out cold our plates with rice and beans was hot and cold. Beans were hot rice was cold. The server took 20 minutes before she came back to the table to refill the tea glass. First time visit, and it will be the last time also. Only good thing. It was very clean all around and it had the freshest homemade pork grinds.

We’ve been there several times and enjoy the food. This time not so good. My husband ordered a taco plate, simple enough. He’s had it before and enjoyed it this time. I noticed that he was taken the meat out of the taco shell and put it on his plate. and eating the meat and vegetables with the chips that they provide as complementary. He doesn’t like to complain, just tries to go with the flow, but I asked him why he wasn’t eating his taco shells and they looked extremely greasy. He said that because the taco shells tasted like they had used old grease. He had ordered an additional Tamale to go with the plate the lady was raving about how good the tamales are. She came back and asked if the tamale was good and I told her that he could not eat his taco shells because they tasted like they were old grease. She said I will go ask. She never came back when she walked by our table. I asked her if she had found out what happened to the taco shells if they had used yesterday‘s taco shells and she didn’t even look towards me when she answered was very rude And just said no we don’t use yesterday’s taco shells we cook fresh ones every day And they’re good. The manager never came and checked up on us nothing. So when we were leaving, we went to pay out. The man at the Cash register asked if everything was good. I don’t know why he asked because when we told him about the taco shells, he just said well I didn’t look at them before they took him back there. He mentioned that the waitress told him about it, but didn’t see the taco shells he said. I told him it wasn’t like we were lying. I just smiled and took our money and we left.He had a good 35 minutes after we. Told the waitress he could’ve come to check but didn’t care to not even and I’m sorry nothing I think we were treated like we were unimportant. Don’t think I’ll wanna go back again. I can tolerate bad food, but not bad service

Discada tacos were so greasy, they made me sick. Wife and daughter loved the enchiladas. Lemonade was very good

Negative stars if it was an option. Horrible food and service… burnt chips, spicy salsa, soggy bland rice. It took 20 women who rushed to the front to comp off meals that sucked. The enchiladas were so overly spiced it’s painful. The waitress failed to inform me of the heat within the red sauce which would have been helpful. Waitress suggested a sour cream packet to help after the fact. The manager almost scolded me for not liking the food. What happened to “the customer is always right” the waitress made a “pssstttt” sound as I was walking off with my family, baby and son. Things like this do not need to be made into a skeptical. It’s honestly appalling. I pray for businesses like this. I Do not recommend whatsoever.

Service was great waiters where great! The chips where VERY old, the Queso was pure water with yellow coloring it was so weak, amd tasted terrible. The sodas I received were mostly water and syrup, no carbonation at all. I should have ordered water.

A larger group got seated way after us, they got their orders and drink pretty quickly and still we were waiting for our drinks and order to be taken, after 30mins we just walked out, staff just stirred at us with no comments, better Mexican restaurants to go to in this town, won't go back

I debated on posting this, because the waitress was so nice and attentive. But, look at this. I’m a grown man, they serve me this plate that looks like it’s for a child. It’s ridiculous really. And it’s like a $20+ plate. I brought it to their attention and they brought me more meat but a different kind, a cheaper one seemed like it was all squishy. I was like okay cool atleast they tried to make amends, but then I get the ticket and see they charged me for a burrito in place of the meat. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve been a regular customer at this restaurant and have even brought clients here in the past, but after my most recent experience, I will never return. While dining with my family, my 9-month-old son accidentally pulled on a decorative plant and it fell. No one said anything to us during the meal, but when I got the bill, there was a mysterious $75 charge. Only after I followed up did I learn it was for the plant—something that costs around $8. When I called to discuss the charge, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude from management. I was told, “You shouldn’t let your baby destroy plants,” and then they hung up on me. Accidents happen, especially with small children, and I would have been happy to talk reasonably about it if the situation had been handled professionally. Instead, I was charged an unreasonable amount without warning and treated with complete disrespect. I’ve supported this place for a long time, but after this experience, I can’t in good conscience continue to do so.
