We were seated right away, the servers were right on top of everything. The food came quickly and our steak was done perfectly. The dessert was also great, we had the carrot cake. Yes the price reflects the level of quality and care this type of restaurant provides. We'll definitely be back to try some other options. As a bonus they have Hangar 1 vodka!
The Perfect gentleman's spot. What guy doesn't like good dry aged steak, a nice red wine or upscale whiskey and then relaxing afterwards with a nice cigar on the patio. You'll find all this and more at the New York Grill in Ontario across from Edwards theater. This is a Hidden Gem in the Inland Empire. The bar area is perfect place just to stop by and have a drink and then sit on their patio and smoke a nice cigar. It's not noisy and packed just the right atmosphere to relax and and be able to have a good conversation whether it's with your wife, your girlfriend or that buddy you haven't seen in a long time this place will impress. You say you don't have a cigar? No worries, they have a large stocked humidor right next to the bar. The New York Grill one of my favorite places to just RELAX. Whether I'm coming back from a date at the movies and want a drink, or starting out for the evening looking forward to a good steak or seafood dinner. Not to mention the long-time staff gives you some of the best service you would expect from a night out. And if you have a small business or a special family gathering they have a very nice upstairs media banquet room that can be configured to your needs.
First time there , took my husband there for his birthday, we had wonderful service!! Great Place, The food was fantastic!! The dessert was delicious!!
Always a place to be, better than Cheers, everyone know what you drink and your cigar preference.
The place is clean and the food is great. The employee's are amazing and super friendly. The price is $$ worth the cost
We had the pleasure of having a company dinner here at New York Grill. Our guest count was roughly 28 people, and the service as well as the food was outstanding! Shout out to our servers Luis, Raul, and a young man that I didn't catch his name (Sorry!). I will definitely be coming back with my family or to host another work function. Thank you thank you!
Had a great experience here! The food was fabulous and the service even better. If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor and come in for dinner.
Great happy hour! They have NY style hotdogs and bratwurst. Cocktail lounge is very nice. Live pianist at dinner. Coconut crusted prawns are amazing. Dinner is very good. Steak was phenomenal. Service is outstanding. They serve Rombeauer wine by the glass!!!! A must visit.
The lighting is dim, the tables are set quite nicely and far from each other. They had a live pianist. The food was so delicious. Stuff mushrooms, brussel sprouts, potatoes, lava cake. This is definitely an upscale place.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. I had a great server, a piano player on the other side of the room and perfect lighting. My food was delicious and well presented.
Best Scottish Salmon I've ever tasted!! Our server Maricella, first night on floor. We thought she was a seasoned server. Wonderful service. Love love
Hands down best restaurant in have visited in the IE. That sourdough bread is the freshest around. All plates are delicious. Great service! Be ready to pay the price of a fancy meal and cozy classy environment.
Wonderful food, intimate environment complete with piano and singer! I live in Sacramento and this was an incredible experience! My server was Arthur, professional and efficent! Thanks for an unforgettabledining experience. **please keep walkway to your business cleaner. When the wind blows it messy coming gto your door!
Best NY strip I've had in a very long time. Excellent service as well, our waiter was very attentive. It is a bit pricey, but that's obvious. Considering the quality I don't think it's overpriced, everything was delicious. The vegetables were a surprise star for me, the baby squash and zucchini were both unique and tasty. I had the carrot cake for dessert and it was very moist and full of flavor. If you're looking for a nice night out with family, or someone special, you can't go wrong with this place.
We went on a Sunday night, not realizing the jazz music packs the place with very loud guests who are not there for a quiet dinner, but for a party that overflows from the bar into the dining room. Apparently the entertainment is good, but it spoiled what we thought would be a lovely evening in a fine steakhouse. That being said, the food and service were excellent. We ordered Rib Eye, but got Prime Rib instead. It was excellent, but guessing there was so much noise and distraction that the waiter got it wrong. Enjoyed anyway. Would recommend.
This place makes a killer steak! Everything and I mean everything was great! Sides, salads, desserts, you name it! All of it was super super yummy! Staff is super attentive and atmosphere is very nice. Calm and relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Thumbs up New York grill, you made my experience great! I well continue to tell everyone how great this place is!
Great steak house! The steaks are juicy and tender, mashed potatoes are excellent, and the vegetables are delicious. The seafood cioppino was great. Friendly staff and nice ambience with live music on Saturdays. The service was excellent! our waiter was okay. Definitely going back!
Beautiful Interior plus,on atmosphere live piano music by Clara excellent the standards so relaxing eat in bar 3 big tv. Handsome bar. Don't miss out. The last song before we left was 'What a wonderful world ". Great meal. It's all great.
Incredible experience every time. Food is phenomenal and the service is even better. The cigar events on the last Sunday of the month keep me coming back. If you haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and come in for dinner. You're in for a treat.
Over all the food was good. The service was awful. A group of ten people it took over an hour for our food to arrive. They also took a long time to bring out our deserts. Rack of lamb was yummy but not what i would call the best. Creme brule was ok not amazing just ok. Would not go out of my way to go back.
Costumer service wasn't that great because all the employees were scattered everywhere going from one table to another But the food was amazing!
Very nice dinner experience, especially the food and service! They do need to replace light bulbs and polish up the inside, maybe even time for a facelift, but at least optimize what you have, right? Food 4, service 4.5, atmosphere 2.5.
This high-end, white tablecloth Italian restaurant has atmosphere, delicious food, attentive wait staff, and a great menu. The wine selections are extensive as is the range of Italian offerings. The calamari appetizer, not fried, began our meal on a bright note. Our entrée choices ranged from the tried-and-true pasta with meatballs to sea bass---all prepared beautifully.
Despite its name, this is a fairly routine restaurant with above average service, large, and average food. Their steak is acceptable and not top quality. Their fish is fairly good. Drinks are good. Prices are acceptable. You pay for the fairly ok ambience. Don't go out of your way to go here. You just come because it is convenient for groups or happy hour.
I was there for a charity event. The staff was very attentive and professional. The food was good. Not great, but good. I had a sirloin steak with sauteed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were just right and made from red potatoes. The vegetables could've used a little more seasoning, but were cooked to perfection. The steak, itself, was cooked well, but needed more seasoning. My wife commented that her shrimp were lacking in seasoning, too. The cheesecake was clearly a frozen product (the center was still icy), but I actually like the firmer texture. I suspect I'm in the minority, however. At the end of the day, I'll come back and try other things.
We were a party of six (Me, my girl friend and two other couples) and had booked a few days in advance. We shared starters and deserts and enjoyed our main choices from the limited menu. The place was crowded because, I guess, there are others who enjoy good cooking with fresh ingredients. If you appreciate well prepared fresh ingredients then this restaurant would be your choice for a special evening out. There are limited number of tables and since others have enjoyed meals here you may have difficulty getting a table...book ahead.
Food is good and the service was great. Nothing really special here. I did not really like the atmosphere. Maybe it’s just me? Menu is on the $$$ side. I”d rather go to Fleming’s. Just my opinion. Will i go back here? Yes, if I’m not paying 😊👍
Better for cocktails & appetizers than for dinner. When I go to dinner at a restaurant expecting to spend $50-$60 per person before drinks/wine I want to be wowed. That was not my experience last night. The atmosphere and staff were good but there were several noticeable delays in service and minor misses in the food. The waiter was not properly trained to describe or comment on the wine list and it was obvious his recommendations were based on comments from others which were limited to "good" or "higher end" choices. The mixed fresh veggies were cooked well but the mix was one carrot, one spear of asparagus and a bunch of broccolini. I would have preferred a more balanced mix. Each of us had an entree that was well cooked and flavorful. The steaks and fish were done spot-on. Two of us chose the molten chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. I found my molten to be luke warm and cooked all the way through. It led me to think these were frozen versions cooked on demand. A clear disappointment for me. I tried to order a cappuccino but it is not offered here so I had a coffee. Although it was full-flavored it wasn't the cappuccino I knew to be a perfect compliment to my dessert selection. Dinner for 4 including one bottle of wine and gratuity tipped the price scale at $400. I'll be back for drinks and appetizers but maybe not for dinner. One very good indication of a fine dining experience is the measure of enjoyment the dining party has throughout the experience. My party of four had a pleasant experience here so I consider New York Grill a success in providing that last night.
We had two different appetizers and they were not good at all - the steak tips on bread and stuffed mushrooms tasted bland and rubbery. For the quality and amount, both of these appetizers were overpriced.
Service started slow but was great after that. I have been to a few good steak houses and this did not compare too some in Palm Springs. Place had old seats but great music. Slightly over priced with a basic steak menu. I do not want to give a bad review, so it was good. For the price I should've been thrown back and impressed. We would go back cause of the service and professionalism of the staff once they notice us. Over all great staff, great music, slightly over priced for a menu that is between 3-4 stars.
Good food but way overpriced. I've eaten at places in Vegas and even locally with similar taste in steaks but at half the cost (and I didn't even pay). I made sure to buy my buddy some great dessert after at another establishment. The servers were friendly and courteous. My 3-star is mostly for the overpriced menu.
The bar is very nice with a piano player. The restaurant does needs to be rehab. The food is average. The services was superior. The prices are above average. My son did my birthday here.
Nice ambience, but a tight squeeze. You sort of feel like you're sitting right on top of the next table. Going to the restroom involves a few excuse me's. As for the food, this is the type of place that charges $17 for 5 shrimp. Good, but not really worth it. Alcohol is standard price, but watered down. The patio where the cigar smokers can relax makes up for some of the short comings, but not all of them.
Needs Attention-. Food was okay but the place needs a remodel. For a restaurant designed to be an upscale steakhouse, Management has let maintenance go. For example stall in men's room is broken in half, their fix is to paint a piece of metal black and screw together. Not even fast food restaurants would fix this way. Feels like stall wall going to fall apart when opening door. Other cleaning and maintenance issues as well. Potential for much better with additional attention.
I came in from New York on business and had a taste for a nice juicy steak. Decided to try the New York Grill. When I walked in the door, I was asked whether I was here to meet someone. I assumed my skin color had something to do with that remark. After I complained about how tough my steak was, the manager seemed to infer that I came into the restaurant to get "something for nothing". Bad food along with a funky attitude!
I ordered the stuffed mushrooms. They were cold and not much taste. Also had the lobster bisque. It was warm but also not that tasty, more on the bland side. Wife had sea bass. She liked it, however, the steamed vegetables that can with it were cold. Meal was pricey for what you got. Had dinner there with daughter and son in law for her birthday. Total bill was almost $350.00. Will probably not come back.
Two hours total time spent in the restaurant, took over one hour to get our food. This was the lowest level of customer service in a restaurant. Major management ownership issues. Highly not recommend this restaurant.
Warning just say NO. Normally I would never write a negative review but this place was filthy, taped carpet, broken wall switches and dust on the frames of the swapmeet-like prints that hung in the out of date restaurant. The food was nothing special. They have a cook not a chef. The first was attentive but did not serve in proper 5 star fashion. The prices were high like in a great restaurant. We had a party of 8. Everyone one of the 8 were surprised that this restaurant can remain open. Why did we pick this place for a gathering? Because it was the only steakhouse that could sit 8 of us of a Saturday night. One more thing. Carefully check you receipt before paying. Consider yourself warned. If the owner happens to read this..the first thing I would do is have a cleaning service out asap. Hope the kitchen is cleaner than the dining area.
I would give 0 stars but in order to leave a review you need to hit 1. Walked in on a Sunday not very crowded at all. Treated us like we where not good enough to eat in their place. Told us we had to wait 20-25 mins we agreed. After sitting in the lobby for 30 without feeling welcome we got up and left.
Honestly, this was the most disappointing restaurant experience I've ever had. Mediocre service, took an hour and 30 minutes to receive the food. No bread given while we waited. I ordered the baby back ribs, which were very tough when I got them (the knife barely was able to cut them). I paid $40 for baby back ribs, waited for an hour and a half, and my knife couldn't even cut them. I went home hungry. Don't go here. Go elsewhere.
I loved the people working there super nice and sweet customer service. Unfortunately the food was the worst I have ever had. We ordered 2 of their specialty items and oh man - disappointment!! I ordered the filet mignon medium rare and it was medium! I am a huge fan of steak and this was by far the worst steak I couldn't even cut into it. The asparagus that came with my dish look like it was sitting on a heating pan.
EDIT 5/23/16: Though my family and I have enjoyed a number of meals and evening drinks at New York Grill, after the inexcusable attitude and actions of the general manager this weekend, we will not be returning. Four of us stopped in late Saturday evening for a few after dinner cocktails. Throughout our two-hour visit, we experienced excellent customer service from the bartender, whom we had met on previous visits. After we had paid our bill and were preparing to leave, we had our first interaction with the manager. Apparently disproving of the volume and language used by one member of our party, the manager approached us. Instead of addressing her or suggesting that we relocate to a booth or another part of the fairly empty restaurant, he approached me and admonished her through me: "She cannot use that sort of language in here," he huffed. The corrective was disrespectful and inappropriate from a customer service standpoint; this is a bar and restaurant, and we were paying guests, and yet the manager's comment and tone suggested that one of us was a schoolchild misbehaving in his classroom and that I was her mother. Offput by the interaction, we gathered our things to go. Two of our party asked to speak to the manager one more time. The "offender" politely shook the manager's hand and quietly informed him that we would not be returning. Rather than responding in kind, he loudly announced, gesturing, "Good! There's the door!" On our way out, the "offender" turned to apologize to the only other party in the bar in case we had upset them. One woman from the table stood up to shake hands with our party. Unable to control his own impetuousness, the manager shouted out, "Oh! Let's give her a standing ovation now!" Having experience in restaurants myself, I can understand if the manager hoped to curate a specific sort of atmosphere for his guests. There are a thousand ways he could have suggested as much to us without being rude and immature. Rather than set the tone and and model the kind of engagements he seemed to expect in the bar, he created a scene. Rather than treat his customers like customers, he chose to be a bully. We expect better, and so should you. *** Good cocktails, hearty portions, nice steaks/seafood options/salads, and good service. A family favorite. If you like heavy beers and they have it, order the Clown Shoes.
The atmosphere was nice, good service, wait was extremely long for my taste. But the overall experience was diminished by the food. It was dry and cold small portions. I will never come back for that much money, and bad food.
Went here 9/29/17 worst food and service I've ever had. The food had no flavor whatsoever, only had a few bites and could not handle anymore. The server only checked on us to see if we wanted dessert, never even asked why we didn't eat are food as they took our plates with only a few bites gone. $71 for nasty food and service 😖
In a nutshell this restaurant is awful do not be convinced by the previous posts that say the restaurant is good. I do believe they Wrote the reviews themselves. The steak that I ordered was the New York steak, it was the driest piece of meat I have ever had in a restaurant the quality of the meet was also horrible. The presentation was just as bad. It was in comparison to eating at Denny’s. The gravy on the mash potatos was also disgusting. This restaurant is for the inexperienced steak eater who has little experience. The Cream Brûlée was a joke! cold not room temperature and the Caramel on top was not even crispy it had no contrasting flavor to the custard. Plain Out Nasty do not let a few berries fool you. And berries should not be on Cream Brûlée, where they there to cover up the fact that the caramel was not crisp? And cold. The reason I did not complain while I was there is that my mother brought me as a treat for Easter and I did not want her to be sad. She has no idea she is not a meat eater. I did express my experience to the waitress who was just clueless unfortunately, she was more concerned with her Pregnancy 🤰 that was more exciting then this meal. The only good thing was the bread and salad. The water glasses where plastic old and dingy. Bottle water was not even offered to me or any supporting sides. When I asked the waitress had no clue as to what I was talking about SAD. EAT AT SIZZLERS you may be happier there. The same quality meat and service.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!! OVER PRICED FOR THE FOOD AND THE SERVICE!!!! 1st off I have been to this place once before and had a wonderful time. Food was good and the service was great! So I decided to return for a 2nd time to take my fiancé out on a late valentine day dinner. BUT THIS TIME WAS OH SO DIFFRENT!!! Everything was going well in the beginning, we got to our table with no wait and my waiter was young and overall did a good job. me and my fiancé both got the most expensive meal on the menu "Surf And Turf (steak and lobster" I asked the waiter if I was able to substitute the vegies for the mac and cheese, he told us it shouldn’t be a problem since we got the steak and lobster. when we were finished and got are bill. we noticed we were charged for the mac and cheese. when the manager NICOLE (so everybody knows who she is) came out to take are bill without a "HELLO" or "HOW WAS YOUR MEAL" we expressed concerns about being charged for the side of mac and cheese, she then started explain to us (in a very rude demeanor) that she wasn’t gone to take it off of the bill because "that’s not how it works". so I didn’t feel a need to go back and forth because it would of led to an agreement. so then she sent the waiter back to our table without any apologies, “that his manager told him not to take it off the bill” I spent $200 just for 2 plates of steak and lobster and for 1 strawberry lemonade and received this type of service!!! NEVER AGAIN After this I will make it my duty to tell all of business partners, my co-works, my friends, and people I come across TO NEVER COME HERE BECUASE OF THE SERVICE FROM NICOLE! My fiancé and I spend a lot of money every month by visiting different restaurant and I have never felt so disrespected in such an upscale establishment in my life! I normally never go this far as writing bad reviews, but with it being such a nice place The owner’s need to take a good look at who they have running the show as a manager, because now they have just lost a lot of business from just one bad experience from 1 couple.
I am no stranger to fine dinning and I believe a great meal should be worthy of its price tag. This place on the other hand charges you alacarté style but serves reheated food. The steak a 24oz bone in ribeye $62 was extremely bland in much need of some seasoning. The 14oz $75 lobster tail was tuff and over cooked also lacking flavor. Drinks were over priced and watered down with 4 patron margaritas coming in at $86. The $10 side of Mac n cheese was decent but also reheated so noodles were tuff. The presentation of it all was nice an ambient room with classics softly playing. If that’s all your looking for then this is your place, but if you want anywhere near the quality of food that the price should provide LOOK ELSEWHERE!! This was the biggest $425 mistake I’ve made in awhile.
The waiters were extremely nice but the service from kitchen and manger was horrible. The food took 1 hour to come and the place was empty. The manager didn't even offer any consetions for the extremely long wait. No discont, no desert on the house but offered if you dont want to wait any longer we can bring your food to go after an hour. Really? Never again....
Screw this place. Had a reservation today (valentines day) and when we got there they said it will be an hour we are running behind. Plus the 10min i wasted literally in front of the front desk being ignored. What is the point of a reservation? Especially for an important occasion. Came to Dave and Busters instead across the street, got seated right away. Our server Brian was amazing. Thanks for everything brotha!
Reheated pre prepped food... So disappointed. Even the dessert was so bland. This place came highly recommended. Staff was very kind. Bill was $100--not worth more than a $30-40 meal.
