I went there on a whim and honestly was surprised how good the food was. The fries were some of the best tasting fries I’ve had in years. Definitely one of the top places to visit in the orange circle.
Didn't know where to have breakfast, and we somehow landed here. I ordered a Vanilla Latte with Oatmilk, 10/10... for breakfast I ordered the Chilaquiles bowl, let me tell you I was so impressed... it was so good. Im picky with my Chilaquiles and these were super good. They even throw in a roasted Anaheim Pepper. 10/10
This place is so cute! I ordered the breakfast burrito with veggie sausage, and my friend ordered the asparagus and mushroom omelette. Both were super tastey! Our server was Lucas, who was attentive to refills and making sure our food was up to par. We never felt rushed but very welcome to hang out. This was out 1st time here and we will definitely be back! Thanks for the great experience!
Great service. The server was awesome.qe had 12 people in our party and he got it all correct! The food was delicious..
Nice inside and outside seating. We had the avocado toast and the stuffed French toast. The avocado toast came with three pieces of which had a ton of avocado and the radish added good texture. The French toast was sweet and the syrup was spectacular! Great experience would dine again.
The food was tasty. The server was very gracious and friendly. We order the mushroom burger with veggie patty and it was delicious. They also have fresh orange juice, although, they are squeezed in the morning.
Not much for atmosphere, but the food was fabulous. It was probably one of the best pieces of salmon and I have ever had at a restaurant. The service was great, and the prices were fair. I will go back here again in a second!
Delicious food and great service. Parking is difficult, so give yourself some time to find a spot.
My family are from out of town but we ate here once and then we just had to come back! The building and location are great and the Food is delicious, high quality, and well worth the drive! Thank you!
Came back to Old Towne Orange with friends for another round of eating, drinking, and wandering and of course, we had to stop by Zinc Café & Bar, a spot I stumbled upon last year and instantly fell in love with. This place sits right inside the Plaza Historic District, an area that used to be the heart of Orange County’s early citrus industry. The building itself was built in 1922 and originally housed the Sunkist Orange County Fruit Exchange, yes, actual vintage orange history! 🍊 Zinc moved into this gorgeous building around 2023 as I remembered, and considering their first-ever location opened in Laguna Beach back in 1988, we came in with slightly higher expectations… and the vibes definitely delivered. They’ve got a cozy patio where sunlight falls in just right, surrounded by a bit of greenery, perfect for slow brunch moments. Inside, they kept the original high ceilings and huge windows, and there’s even a small bar area you can reserve for private events. Overall, it’s giving that chic, modern American brunch energy without being too fancy. Totally the type of place you go to for coffee, tea, and long conversations. We went all in on brunch and ordered: • Middle Eastern Breakfast • Asparagus & Mushroom Omelet (with potatoes) • Avocado Toast • Baja Fish Tacos • Shrimp Tacos • Cappuccino • Mocha • Matcha Latte • Passion Fruit Iced Tea • Latte with lavender syrup Food was solid, portions were big—we were stuffed. Service was friendly and chill. They checked on us just enough without hovering, which I really appreciated. After brunch, we walked around Old Towne to admire all the Halloween decorations, people here go all out!😆 📍 Zinc Café & Bar 195 S Glassell St, Orange, CA 92866
I often hit up Old Towne Orange, but I had no clue about this spot — total hidden gem! I can see they use the space super efficiently. Food was great, service is the best! 👏 Definitely coming back!
Zinc in Orange has a really nice ambiance, perfect for a casual yet stylish meal. The pizza, burger, and sandwich were all delicious and definitely worth recommending. The only miss for me was the Thai salad, which was just okay compared to the other dishes. Overall, a great spot with solid food and a relaxing atmosphere.
Such a cool little, quaint restaurant. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Has a unique style to it from the inside as it gives cafe, restaurant, and snack bar vibes. The outdoor seating seemed pretty chill and relaxing. Liked that it has tall gates to provide privacy. The food was tasty and well plated. Nice place for a date or a social gathering. Definitely recommend the cheesecake! So thick and creamy. The service was great. Very attentive, but not imposing. The bathrooms were a little messy.
Yesenia was SO nice and welcoming and made my experience wonderful. Service was fast and efficient. The food was amazing! Will definitely be coming back soon what an awesome restaurant and awesome staff
Every dish I’ve gotten here so far has been delicious! The little bar they have is a sleeper hit - go in the main entrance and check it out just to the left. Great ambiance, amazing bar tender and full menu available. The charcuterie board was AWESOME! Don’t expect anything previously frozen or anything less than fresh.
This was our second time on this fantasic restaurant. Perfect location on this corner restaurant at the heart of Old Town Orange near the Rotonda Circle. We normally also go to the one in Laguna Beach. Shot out to Yesenia our server who gave us excellent service. She even came n with the cake and candle for my Birthday which made it most memorable
The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. The ambiance was charming, with great outdoor seating and attentive service. Even the bathrooms were spotless and well-kept. A perfect spot for brunch!
We were a large party with big dietary restrictions, but we were seated almost immediately and had our food given to us quick. The drinks were delicious and the food was perfect for the vegans. If anyone in your life has Celiac's Disease, this is the perfect place for them, as the entire menu is basically made for them in mind. The food is a bit on the pricier side, but it's worth it if your body is really picky over what it can handle. Shout out to our amazing server Corey for making our friend's birthday one to remember.

Javier was the best, he made sure we had everything we needed and provided an amazing dining experience. I highly recommend visiting this Zinc location. Th food was amazing!
Everything has been very good since they opened. You can tell the workers are all trying to keep up with the crowd. It has been crowded everyday that my coworkers and I have gone. Today I was a little disappointed. I ordered a large White Chocolate Mocha. See picture attached. I opened it because it didn't feel very heavy. I thought, maybe it had more whipped cream than anything. No, it was half full. 😔 Very disappointed. Also if you place an online order, and get any pastries be sure to check your bag. They forgot to add the pastry. *Zinc Rubenesque: First dish I tried and was very impressed. It was perfect, tasted great. I didn't even miss the meat. *Chilaquiles - not a fan, but my gut told me not to order a Mexican dish at a place like this. So that's my fault *Avocado Toast - Big fan of this. The radish and dill. Everything about it was on point. Add egg if you want some protein 👍🏼 *Egg Salad sandwich - Great taste. Might need a little salt, but the flavors (Dijon mustard) is great. *Black bean chili- great flavors came as a side for my sandwich *Cinnamon Popover - Delectable 😋 *Almond Croissant - a perfection *Seasonal Galette - was an apple tart...love it!!
Zinc Cafe & Market for brunch! Located in the Historic Sunkist Building in Historic Old Towne Orange! Been wanting to visit and finally we did. Went on a Saturday afternoon around 2ish and it was a breeze to get in! Outdoor seating on a beautiful California afternoon! They used to have a buffet but they no longer have it... Ordered a Stella & a Hazy IPA. Sorry... none on tap.... Had a Rachero Omelet with a Veggie Sausage. It had black beans, queso fresco, pico de gallo, cilantro... served with a green salad... We also had a Bacon Onion White Pizza - it had Applewood Smoked Bacon, ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan cheese, garlic oil & caramelized onion. #socalweekendwalkarounds #zinccafe #oldtownorange #orangecircle #cityoforange #pinoyfoodie #yelp #yelpelite #yelp2024 #august2024 #omelet #pizza #ranchero #weekend #brunch #cheers #hazyipa #rayban #metaglasses #samsungfoldz
Zinc Cafe & Market does not disappoint. We at the Middle Eastern Breakfast, the Asparagus, Mushroom Omlette, Chilaquiles, and the special; Chicken Fried Steak. The food was delish and the service was good. It was very busy as most restaurants are in the Orange Circle. Parking is always difficult in downtown Orange, so I suggest parking at the public parking lot off Lemon and Chapman / on Lemon, north of Chapman.
This was our first time eating here after knowing about it for so long and I kind of wish he came here sooner. The menu has an interesting skew to it ("fancy"), but I decided to try out one of their pizzas (white onion) and I really liked it. I did get the wrong soup (which I didn't notice at first because I forgot what I ordered), but it was still good and I didn't bother getting a replacement with the correct one. So there's no real question with the quality of the food, at least. The outdoor seating is nice, though can be marred by the nearby intersection where people tend to blast music or honk at everyone else. So it might be better to sit on the side instead of the front, though I couldn't say for sure. Interior seating looked to be very limited, and potentially uncomfortable, so they rely heavily on the outside dining.
بسم الله اوله و اخره The waiter was professional, friendly, and gave great recommendations. The food in general was good, and the coffee was excellent. I sat inside, which was nice and not too noisy as there were only a few people. The only downside was that parking can be a bit of an issue. Overall, a good experience.
Great addition to the Orange circle restaurants. Historic location, well remodeled and great esthetics. The ambiance was very nice, from cleanliness to friendless! The choice on menu were just right, well balanced and a very diverse menu. I had poached eggs on toast with avocados and heirloom tomatoes, although the portion was small but it was well made, delicious and hot! The French toast was recommended and it wasn't disappointing, it was different and delicious! I will not ruin the surprise! The coffee was delicious both the Americana & the house blend. The natural fresh orange juice was oh so refreshing. The juice bar is a very cozy. The Zinc has inside and outside sitting, staff were polite and friendly. Highly recommended, a must see at the #orangecircle
Great space, always wanted to convert this older warehouse into a residence and they've done a good job at keeping he charm of the landmark and modernizing it for a cafe. We checked it out during dinner the first week after opening and they were u and running well. service was friendly. Unfortunately the booths are on the small size, they are really not big enough for 4 people. I've since swing by more than a few times to get some items for lunch. Still need to try and pickup some pastries, they look yummy on their site.
Update: We have eaten here frequently since Zinc made the change to include non-vegeterian dishes. Almost everything we have tried has been excellent! The burgers are on point, the beef taco & grain bowls are excellent and filling. We love how fresh the ingredients are and always enjoy our meals here. Came to this newly opened establishment for dinner for 2. Reservation was easy to make on Google. Their service was excellent. We hadn't done our research ahead of time & did not realize this was a lacto-ovo-vegeterian restaurant until we sat down. We both got a zero proof drink, a salad & an entree, and the bill was around $80. I recommend the potato arugula pizza. I personally love raclette, which was the cheese used on this pizza. The red chili flakes cut through the heaviness of this stinky cheese & and balanced out the flavors. My Man did NOT enjoy the spinach lasagna as it pretty much fell apart when he tried to cut it. Overall the service was friendly & the bar area has a cozy vibe. Would definitely visit again. 🧡

I’ve noticed better service at this location than the Newport location. The quality and freshness is always there I would recommend for brunch/lunch
Plenty of parking on nearby side streets and city lots, seated timely, service and ALL of the staff members did a really great job and were very attentive. The shrimp tacos were delicious, the bacon pizza was good, but I'd try something different next time. We opted to sit outside, it was a beautiful night and weather and they do have heat lamps if needed. Our 1st time there, and we'd go back. (FYI, size of pizza is sharable)

Service was great, food was good too. Wish they had just 1 more staff member bc it seems like they were quite busy/stressed during dinner time.
Was so excited to check out the Sunkist building and was a fan of Zinc's location in the Arts District. Unfortunately, most of our food and drinks were disappointing. The burrito was low on flavor. The scone wasn't warmed up. The mocha was bitter. The only winner was the Mac and Cheese. It was delicious and so cheesy. Felt like we got more style than substance :( Staff and ambiance were fantastic though. Hope they fix up the menu
We are here to use the Amex Gold Resy dining credit. Unfortunately the experience was not great. The coffee and pancake are good, but do yourself a favor and please don’t order the chilaquiles. The chips were soggy and sad. Great location and beautiful historic building though!

Location has a clean chill vibe. We got sat right away which was nice for being a party of 7 on a sunday. I found it weird that they ran out of breakfast potatoes. I ordered chilaquiles they were different but tasty. The egg on the chilaquiles was supposed to be poached thats what the menu said they came out scrambled. I asked them to change them to sunny and they say said they couldn't make sunny eggs. Idk if they ran outta egg or what was going on with that but ok. It really would've been nice if the server would've communicated they were outta breakfast items. Also I dont think they offer coffee refills. I dont think i would consider coming back with so many restaurants around they need to step up their game. Oh also I thought it was crazy that the server gave no options for my burrito choice she just added whatever meat she felt like hahahaha okayyy
Really great location and atmosphere. There is a little bar in front with the restaurant further back. Something really stunk in the bar. Like sewage stink. Menu was great, but the food was actually quite ordinary. Service was slow despite the small size.
It was just okay, we've made reservations for 10 people. It was my sister-in-law's birthday. We asked for indoors, they sat us outdoors. My eggs were cold when I got my plate. I had to asked for jam for my sourdough toast, that took longer than expected, my iced white chocolate mocha tasted very watered down, other than my eggs being cold. My dish was very good, My sister-in-law needed a spoon for her oatmeal, which they took forever to bring, just seemed very unorganized, and it seemed like they forgot about us, because of where we were seated, on the side of the building. Our server went home after we ordered our food, Waiting for our order to be brought and then it seemed like we were forgotten about

I wouldn’t recommend Zinc. The hostess sat us as our table and no one ever came by. After 15 minutes, the hostess walked by, asked if anyone ever helped us, and then she had to help us herself. They didn’t have the pesto pasta available. The pizza was mediocre. I also got a lot of mosquito bites sitting outside
We love going here. The food is always great, location and atmosphere is great too. Best breakfast burritos and lattes! The service is hit and miss, depending on who’s the host and your waitress that day. —————- Update: The last time visit was disappointing. Either the waiter remembers that I didn’t tip him well last time (cause of subpar service), or they brought out our food so late, and when it did come out it tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen for at least an hour.
Honestly pretty disappointed. I used to go here three times a week. In my last visit, we found hair in the food. Enough said In the visit prior to that, we ordered the food and after it got delivered, they told us that they ran out of some of the ingredients. Instead of substituting with something or asking if we wanted something, they just apologized and left, having taken the money and not given the full meal Honestly the food is good otherwise, but this is difficult to swallow
Really esthetically pleasing, but the music was loud and was not really in sync with the environment. Clean, and cozy. Service was okay, but did not check in with us for more water. Food was bland. Some parts of my steak were luke warm and other parts and pieces were cold. It was very unsettling to eat. And my brunch guests food had too much salt, that's all we tasted.
I was excited to try this spot, especially with its cool atmosphere and charming renovation. However, the experience fell short. The service was disorganized from the start. I ordered an iced cortado but received a giant hot cappuccino. They took it back, but my iced coffee never arrived. When the bill came, the coffee was still listed, and it took the manager to fix the mistake. My fiancé ordered a cocktail, but apparently, the bartender didn’t show up that day. The food was underwhelming as well. My avocado toast with a poached egg was uninspired—over-buttered toast with heavy-handed scoops of avocado and sad, wilted radish. My fiancé’s fried egg sandwich was just as disappointing. In a neighborhood full of excellent dining options, I can’t see myself returning here.
Finally a summer night that’s beautiful. Arrived at 9pm just to be told the patio is closed. The patio was mostly full of people having food and drinks still. Then were sat in an empty dinning room. Cocktails and food were good, no complaints there. But staff was already in full cleaning mode. Might as well close at 930pm we felt rushed to dine as they already started breaking down the dining room and the nice ambient table lights that actually brought warmth and joy to the basic dinning room. Some of staff was also cut so some of the people still enjoying the patio were having to come in to close out there tabs inside because their server had left. We left at 945 and walked by staff that just ignored us and never said goodbye. It’s already hard to find somewhere to eat any time after 9pm. Was really hoping to make this place part of my rotation to dine at that time but guessing on to the next one.
Went to have lunch , my daughter asked about the happy hour the staff didn't know the times so we told them that she was there last week & it was at 3pm they acted confused & I requested to speak to the manager. Manager responded with the time of 4pm & walked away. We felt awkward & started to leave until my eyes landed on the menu & right on top was the happy hour menu 4 pm .apparently the manager was manager didn't want to extend that promotion to us. Terrible manager
Sad to leave this but it’s needed. Local go here often. Went for brunch was served burnt food. When I brought it up, actually had to walk it into the restaurant as my server was MIA. Let her know the food was inedible she shrugged it off with her smug attitude. Didn’t bother coming to our table to ask if I wanted something else. There are so many other options in the circle. Go there they actually like and care about their customers!!!
The food wasn't as good as I expected. The sliders were mostly bun not a lot meat. Truffle Burger , no truffle flavor, just a misfit of combination of things. truffle fries did not have truffle flavor. Just looked like leftovers taking away from the whole meal. I
