Fresh tortillas, soft and made daily, complement our generous burritos filled with salsas that add a kick. Carla's menu expertise is matched by the warm hospitality of our chefs and staff, including Isaiah, Lupita, Ismael, and Ernesto, who always make you feel at home. Our lively atmosphere may be a bit bustling, but it's where the real magic happens – over plates of phenomenal shrimp al pastor carne asada, consistently delicious and expertly prepared.

Opinions de The Taco Stand Orange
Small, but total dive. A bit rough around the edges, but I like the vibes. Split into three rooms, being the main room, lounge, and the pool hall. Tons of cool decorations with lots of Angel's stuff on the walls. Two pool tables and a non-electric dartboard. Good security at the door, with a metal detector and bouncer at the door. IDs are checked with blacklight.
Paul's is not for those who want to be serverd sweetly and expect a wholesome experience. The bartenders are ready for your drink order which they expedite it for you. They're plenty of pool tables for those billiard players. Oh and pets are welcome so watch where your stepping a man's best friend could be sitting on the floor.😎🥃🍻🍺🍹🎱🤟
Amazing service even when it’s super busy! Appreciated the attention when we walked in and they were at full occupancy. We stayed outside until there was room to come in and enjoy a cocktail before a table was available. Wedge salad was good Schnitzel was tasty the steak frites was a big miss way overcooked and had a strange flavor. Service was very good
Came here with some friends after another bar in the area, has 2 pool tables in the back that are barely mentioned as well as darts. Lots of stuff to choose from but we got pitchers. Fun place, cool atmosphere. Worth checking out, was pretty packed when we are there around 10 to 12
Clean establishment with a long history. Two new pool tables and updated decor. They use their space well, have plenty of parking, and the pool table room is well lit. TV’s throughout showing all the sports, shows or programming you could want. Staff is friendly and helpful.
The awesome bartender working Saturday morning was so good to us. We came to do our fantasy football draft at 9:00 a.m. & she set us up with the TV stations we wanted, the space we needed, and a couple of fantastic Bloody Mary's! Although our group stood us up she was still attentive & engaging. Great service. Ambiance as advertised. 10 out of 10, will definitely go back
Pauls Cocktails is a beloved dive bar that’s been serving the local community since 1942. Nestled in the historic Orange Circle in the City of Orange, just minutes from Chapman University, this no-frills watering hole is a rite of passage for many. With its laid-back atmosphere and lack of trendy pretense, Pauls offers a refreshing alternative to upscale bars and nightclubs. Whether you’re celebrating the end of finals, catching a Sunday football game, or just looking to unwind after a long week, this spot delivers. The bar attracts a diverse crowd—from college students to longtime locals—making it a prime place for people-watching and casual conversation. The bartenders are known for their friendliness and welcoming smiles, ready to pour a perfectly made cocktail or a cold beer without the fuss. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and be yourself. If you’re in search of comfort, good drinks, and a genuine local vibe, Pauls Cocktails is your go-to spot. No reservations, no dress code—just walk in, grab a drink, and feel right at home.
Paul's is a fun bar full of locals and Chapman students, if you don't like a younger crowd don't go on Thursday nights. Lots of TVs to watch football or any sport during the year. They have monthly pool tournaments, a smoking patio, and a lounge. They have pretzels and a vending machine. If you are looking for something more then snacks you can have it delivered or walk to any of the many restaurants in the circle and bring it back to the bar to enjoy. The staff is amazing and knows how to pour a great drink. They also have specials on different nights of the week. I recommend if you are looking for a fun time and making new memories.
Love this place absolutely adore the security guards they're great Dave is awesome and so is country Thursday night is college night so it's a little crowded but great bar overall Mike and Michelle are a great people
Their burritos are FIRE and authentic, tortillas are soft and fresh, with a nice variety of salsas to go along. The prices are reasonable, worth every penny to me. I would eat here everyday if i could.
The taco stand is awesome! Carla explained the menu and the whole staff all the chefs were amazing. The shrimp al pastor carne asada phenomenal! A great place little busy and little loud but other than that fantastic! Come say hi to Carla
The Taco Stand never disappoints. The food is always fresh and full of flavor, and the service is just as great. Isaiah, Lupita, Ismael, and Ernesto are all super friendly and always make you feel welcome. I’ve been coming here for about 4 years now, and the quality has stayed consistent every single time. I usually order the carne asada fries or a burrito with shrimp, and they always come out so good and well made. You can really tell they care about both the food and the customers. Definitely one of my go to spots and highly recommended
Love this place! The shrimp tacos, churros, Elote are my faves! Come to Utah already!!! Every trip to California includes this multiple times on our itinerary…so good! I only wish all of the locations had more tables for seating and parking options.
So today after a nice service at elevate ministry I decided to stop by and check out “The Taco Stand”. The line was out the door with the tables packed. I typically don’t like to wait too long in lines due to being let down once I receive my food after anticipating good food, but tonight I was not let down! I have to give David a huge shout out for making the beginning of the experience outstanding he made the wait non existent by providing exceptional customer service! Even with how busy it was he remained with a smile offering me chips for the wait! I truly believe that customer service helps with the taste of the food which made this overall experience a 9.5/10
Omg. What is going on here. Just got the shrimp burrito and it’s the best thing I’ve had all week. The burrito wrap still has the smoke from the grill. The shrimps are well cooked and the combo with the marinated cabbage with some cheese and avocado is to die for. I had forgotten how good this place. Music is a bit Lou but with this flavor. Who cares.
This is hands down the best tasting and best priced tacos I have ever had. The Sonora and shrimp tacos were incredible. Guacamole and chips were excellent. Portions were generous and service fast. The onsite fresh made tortillas cannot be beat. As for their canned margarita, I had a taste of my wife’s and it was just as good as a fresh made cocktail from a bar. The Taco Stand just killed it tonight. It’s my new favorite taco place.
Amazing food. Kind, fast service. Chill vibes. Located in a historic vibe area of Orange, Taco Stand is a great spot if you're in the mood for some tasty tacos and burritos. I've dined here a few times already and enjoyed every visit. I mainly get the tacos, which are prepared fresh and quickly. My go-to tacos are the carne asada, grilled pescado (fish), and al pastor. The salsa bar has a good variety of sauces and condiments. The sauces are tasty additions, ranging from mild to hot. Bottled drinks, fountain, and ice-cold beers are available. The dining area is a pretty good size, with bar seating to watch the kitchen in action. Parking isn't too bad either, with a few lots, street, and structured parking nearby. Overall, a great spot to satisfy your hunger, and I can't wait to visit again.
The Taco Stand is our absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. We are from out of state but always make it a point to visit the taco stand whenever we are near the LA/Anaheim area. We would drive any reasonable distance to eat at this location. The food is phenomenal! We always get the burritos al pastor or the tacos al pastor. They are our favorite. But I’ve also had the carne asada fries, carne asada burrito, carne asada quesadilla, and the California burrito. All of which are fantastic as well. Also, you have to try the churros!!! They are phenomenal. Our last trip to Anaheim was four nights and 3 out of 4 nights we ate at the taco stand!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The best authentic soft-shelled tacos I’ve had in YEARS!!! The Sonora tacos were delicious and something I always make sure to order when I come here! My boy Ernesto offered superior customer service! I highly recommend this spot if you have a craving for delicious soft-shelled tacos made with excellent quality at a great price!!
I've always been thoroughly impressed by the taco stand in Orange. The food is not only high quality but also reasonably priced, making it a great value. The salsas are fantastic complements, especially the habanero salsa, which adds a delightful kick to your meal. The tortillas are made fresh to order. The only downside is the limited seating availability; there are times when you may need to wait for a table to become free.
I’ve been to The Taco Stand several times now, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots! Their Mushroom Taco and Grilled Fish Taco are absolutely delicious-always fresh and full of flavor. I sometimes get my order to-go, and everything is packed nicely and stays tasty. Their special sauce is a must-try, it makes the tacos even better! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick, which I really appreciate. Best of all, the quality is always consistent no matter when I visit. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving tacos-I’ll definitely keep coming back!
The best Mexican food hands down in this area. Fresh made corn tortillas, the shrimp tacos full of flavor, the carne asada tacos delicious, the churros on point, that guac and chips got me here bloated because I had to eat it all up couldn’t miss the flavor form the delicious bites. I also got a California burrito but didn’t get a picture but it was really good. Take some time and check this spot out…….
Great spot to visit with Friends and or Family for drinks on a Friday or Saturday night. Mix drinks range from $12 - 14 bucks which is a good deal especially because the surrounding Bars charge more. If you have not been to Paul's Bar in Orange, I would recommend that you stop by for a few drinks especially if you want to Bar hop at the downtown orange circle.
Pauls Cocktails...the ultimate dive bar! Open at 6 AM closes at 2AM, that should tell you all you need to know! Cold beer, cocktails, pool tables, a jukebox and seasoned local crowd. A must stop for us when we are visiting "The Circle" Where else would you see a Great Dane coming out of the restroom?
The taco stand at the Circle of Orange is an absolute gem for anyone craving fresh, authentic Mexican food. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear why locals love it—vibrant flavors, generous portions, and a menu that makes it hard to choose just one item. Every taco bursts with flavor, and the variety ensures there’s something for everyone, whether you love classic carne asada, savory al pastor, or vegetarian options. That said, visiting here requires a bit of planning. Parking is extremely limited, so be prepared to park a distance away and enjoy a short walk. The stand itself is small, and because it’s a local favorite, it gets crowded quickly, especially during peak hours. Lines can form fast, so patience is key if you decide to eat on-site. For the easiest experience, I highly recommend ordering ahead for pickup. That way, you can take your meal home and savor it without the stress of waiting in line or hunting for parking. Despite these minor inconveniences, the quality and flavor of the food make it more than worth the effort. This taco stand is a must-visit for anyone in the area—it’s a true taste of local Mexican cuisine at its best.
We tried this for the first time thinking we'd find a Taco Tuesday deal, but they didn't have any deals. It was good though! I especially liked the Sonora taco. Delicious with great flavor and not spicy. We ordered chicken tacos, a burrito, and chips too. Great amount of chips for the price. Good salsa bar with variety of options. I would try guac next time. Lots of people there but we were able to still get a table. Would be hard.for a large group unless you went at a really uncommon time. Seems like they're using fresh ingredients and making everything as requested. I would go again and oder the Sonora taco again for sure.
Strong drinks and decent prices. Gets really busy on the weekends. Since it's in the circle you get a variety in the crowd but it tends to bring in more guys than girls. Bartenders are friendly.
Ordered a pastor burrito and shrimp burrito. The flour tortillas are good quality. The stuff they add into the burritos are okay but the prices are pretty cheap here I'd sayfor burritos . I don't like they don't offer regular burritos with just meat, rice, beans, onions, cilantro. All the salsa are unique and good to try. I didn't like there was hardly no flavor to the pastor meat definitely needed salsa to give it flavor maybe its because its more of a white neighborhood they don't add too many spices? Idk but they also don't offer fresh aguas frescas they only have sugared fake Jamaica and horchata. They add plenty of meat in the burritos I had added rice and beans I dont recommend it the beans weren't as soft and the rice felt very mushy. Okay experience but wouldn't try again. Id look for more of a better mexican food spot
Quick Summary A decent taco spot, but fell below my expectations of the Taco Stand. The meat and fries were great, but I was really disappointed by the tortillas. Street and lot parking available here and there around DT Orange. Food- 3.5 stars Ordered the carne asada fries, and a mix of shrimp, carne asada, pastor tacos and tacos volcan. The meat was delicious and juicy. The fries had the standard Taco Standard crunch that I've grown quite fond of. The major disappointment came with the tortillas. I always enjoyed the fresh and pillowy homemade tortillas made at the SD locations, and was disappointed when my tacos at this location had a cold and rough tortilla. Service- 5 stars They got the food out pretty quickly. Pretty easy fast casual ordering like all their locations Bottom Line The fries and the meats were good and comparable to the other locations. However, was disappointed with their tortillas, which is usually the primary reason I enjoyed visiting their SD locations when around the area
Nice cocktails but the staff is rude and sexist. Wouldn't let the ladies room utilize the doorstop for the rest restroom on 90+ ° day/evening on the door!
shitty and not in a good dive way. dozens of cop and sheriff badges above the bar. cheap well drinks.
This place used to be my favorite spot ever since I moved out of California in 2007. Every time I’d come home to visit family I would always make sure to stop here. Their prices have skyrocketed. A double vodka soda is now $15. I had the exact same thing in Newport’s Beach Ball for $9.
This bar sucks. I went in from Having been turned down at the district, he said I had a fake id and once I showed him my passport he got all pissed because I was obviously pissed he’d deny both ids. This bartender, super speedy waited for her bouncer to verify my id, we’ll both of them , be verified both, verified he knows the other guy at district that gave me a hard time and says I can drink. As I’m waiting for my modelo the speedy lady then over rides the bouncer and says she doesn’t feel comfortable serving me. All in all it was the weirdest drinking experience in my 32 years on this planet, the district and Paul’s suck.
Don't use ur cards or tap to pay they will double charge you for your drinks. It's cool, place, but like a strip club, pull out money beforehand.
8/5 male bartender would ignore when asking for a round of drinks while continuing to tend to others then asking us “what?” When we asked for drinks. Place was not busy
This place used to be the spot where you could always go in for cheep drinks, yesterday I can confirm they have become like every other bar in the circle. I ordered a round of fireball shots (7) and a couple beers and my bill was close to 200 dollars. After I ordered I asked the bar tender how much exactly each fireball shot was and they said 15 dollars because it's their busiest night of the year. So basically they jacked their prices up because it was the street fair. I will never ever spend money at this establishment again because they wanted to double the prices of a fireball shot and take advantage of their customers. This is why I don't even go out anymore every-time it's 300 dollars because bars are charging an arm and a leg to drink, and I like to buy my friends rounds.
The owner of this business is extremely hostile to customers and to the general public. He berated my wife for pulling into the parking lot when the business had yet to even open. We feared for our safety because he was yelling and driving so recklessly.
