My family and I had such a great evening here! It was our first time visiting and we can’t wait to return. Many of us ordered the chicken parm which was delicious, and we also got several pasta dishes (rigatoni bolognese, gluten free penne vodka, fettuccine alfredo) and everyone cleared their plates or made sure to take home for leftovers! We also got the whipped cream and strawberries for dessert which was beautifully presented and such a treat, as well as the sundae which none of us wanted to share! The ambiance was cozy, intimate, and so nicely decorated for Christmas - with Christmas music playing throughout our dinner, which is always a plus! The service was fantastic and Frank personally made sure that we had a great time. We were celebrating a special occasion and Frank helped make sure it was perfect which I can’t thank him enough for! We will be back!
I will absolutely recommend this place. 5 Star atmosphere, 5 star service and 5 star food! We wanted to have a special night out for our anniversary and they made that happen, above and beyond! Can't wait to go back!
This restaurant is a GEM! Everything from the atmosphere, to the food, cocktails, and service is wonderful. You won't be disappointed.
We have been here many times and the food is always delicious. We brought a group of friends for a birthday celebration and everyone loved it.
I have been going to Il Fresco for my whole life and have always had excellent experiences. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a date night, and the service is great. I recently went for Valentine’s Day and had a perfect dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
We hosted the rehearsal lunch for our wedding at Il Fresco, and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect place. The restaurant is cozy and beautiful in an old school way. Frank (one of the owners) made the process of reserving the private room so incredibly easy and was so accommodating of whatever we asked for. He also set the tone for the service, which was excellent - his easy going and hospitable nature helped me feel relaxed during the very stressful lead up to the big day. The food was great - wish I could have eaten more but was busy hosting! Thanks for everything.
The most absolute delicious Italian food in Rockland County by far. I don't know how they make their sauce but it's liquid gold. Fantastic service and beautiful atmosphere. 5 stars isn't enough!
A restaurant with character and charm. The food was delicious and the staff were kind and attentive. There are multiple seating areas, we had a table for two upstairs. It gets very busy on a Saturday evening so I suggest making a reservation. The serving size of the entrees were generous! I added photos with my hand for reference.
Amazing! I could not have had a better experience. The dishes are incredible & so fresh, the atmosphere is homey and cozy. Il fresco is the perfect place for date night or family dinner, 10/10!
If there is a heaven- and I know there is- Il Fresco was created there. This place is my new favorite restaurant. The ambiance is as delectable and inviting as the menu. We dined in the cellar near the fire place and could have stayed for hours on end. The lasagna and fettuccine was the best we ever tasted. Bravo for fresh and classy.
Can’t be beat for ambiance, food and comparatively reasonable prices, II Fresco is a perennial favorite.
Great meal I had a special a pork loin parm. My wife got the veal parm. Both were exceptional and a large portion wait staff were very attentive great night out
Food was amazing! I had the farfalle alla vodka. So good. Wine was amazing and so was the atmosphere. Highly recomedded
Excellent Italian cuisine and cosy atmosphere! The food was high quality and the service was fast.
We had an amazing meal! IL fresco helped us host our parents 50th anniversary party. The upstairs space was perfect and cozy, we had around 30 people and it felt like we were in a welcoming home, not a restaurant. The food we had was delicious, the mini calzones, fried zucchini sticks and anti-pasta was fresh, the veal fresco was out of this world, everything was hot and super tasty. Our decor fit in the room, the linens were all included, the sit down dinner was done well and we had attentive and kind servers. The drinks were so good! The Bellini martini was cold, not overly sweet, but it packed a punch! The other drinks were great and the assorted Italian cookie platters were fresh baked. The owner was easygoing, helpful and worked with us to get everything perfect. We had a wonderful experience! It’s a great place for dinner or hosting dinner parties and smaller celebrations.
It's always a treat going to il Fresco. The best Italian, maybe overall restaurant, in Bergen County! Aside from the delicious food and cozy ambiance, the owner Frank is a wonderful guy and always treats his guests right. I would highly recommend going there - you'll want to keep coming back.
We have been coming to Il Fresco for years and just hosted our third confirmation party here yesterday. Each time better than the next. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Frank is always a pleasure to work with when preparing the menu. Thanks Il Fresco for always making our gatherings so special and memorable.
Simply put, we went on our anniversary the food was delicious the gentlemen who described the food was on Point I'm gluten free and Il fresco was one of the only real Italian places on top of this issue all in a charming house in Orangeburg NY and I can't forget to mention the mini gluten free Canoli yum and yum.(can you believe a gluten free Canoli!!!) Hope is not lost.
Food was amazing! We were in a large group and the service was excellent. Everything was perfect, delicious and good portions. Would return again.
Can't wait to see the new menu. Portions are very generous!
Il Fresco was recommended to us by a client. Simply a great meal at a terrific restaurant. The consensus at our table was that everything was terrific, from the Halibut Putanesca to the Lasagna. Il Fresco is located in an old, retrofitted house, which gives the place a ton of character. I can highly recommend Il Fresco if you are in the Orangeburg, NY area!
We tend to dine here for special occasions. The restaurant is inside a house and has a very cozy feel to it. The food is delicious, the service very attentive. You really feel like you're being taken care of by the staff. It's very popular so I recommend making a reservation ahead of time.
I love this place. The food never disappoints. Any dish you can imagine is on the menu. You feel like you're in a hidden quaint restaurant in Italy. Besides the extensive menu, they infuse their own vodka. The only problem is trying to choose which one to try. The desserts are mouth-watering delicious. The staff is very friendly and we received wonderful service. It's now my favorite place.
One of my favorite places on the east coast. Delicious food, an incredible menu, and the most perfectly poured martinis!
A staple in our family! You cannot beat the quality and authenticity of the Italian food at this place. Our kids love the food and so do we.
I visited Il Fresco on Tuesday, 11/28/23, with two friends. My friends and I had lunch for the first time at Il Fresco. The service we received from Henry was exceptional. He was so friendly and courteous. Our customer experience was 100+. Frank, an owner, was extremely attentive and professional; with a kind demeanor. The food was fantastic; simply delicious. Everything was "Fresco". The dining experience is unique, and the ambiance is first class.
Had another great meal and experience. This time we sat outside since it was a beautiful afternoon and it did not disappoint. As always staff and food was outstanding. Please try the Mariano Rivera martini you won’t regret it.
The food is excellent and scrumptious I highly recommend Fresco.
If I could give Il Fresco 100 stars I would. My fiancé and I discovered this little gem over a year ago, we have been coming here ever since. Date nights, birthdays you name it. We have brought so many of our friends and family here and they all say the same. EVERYTHING we eat here is delicious. The service is great, very attentive, kind staff, they never miss. It gets a little busy sometimes but that doesn't change the service its phenomenal. What you get for what you pay you can't beat it. Love Il Fresco!!!
We had a group of 5 couples and we were in a semi- private area of the restaurant. There was just us and another table of maybe 8 people. It was perfect. The food was delicious and very good portions. The servers were excellent! Very accommodating and attentive. Many of us got one of the specials, but not all. Everyone raved about their meal!
I ate outside on the patio. Great evening. Very attentive but not intrusive service. The food was absolutely delicious and I am a regular patron. I have never had anything I was disappointed with. Love it.
Every dish on the menu is top notch! The red sauces, of any variety, are fantastic. All are on the level as both of my Italian grandmothers; which is the highest compliment I can offer. Was there last evening for our wedding anniversary. Great decision!
What a great place! Food and service were super good. It’s an old house so there are some quirks but I will be back for sure. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
We celebrated my brothers 60th suprised birthday there last week. Frank and his staff were excellent, especially Marina. All of the food was delicious. Thank you for a great night, you guys are the best.
We found this hidden gem driving through the area ! So glad we stopped in. Everything was delicious, service was great , restaurant was beautiful with all the nice decor ! Recommend the chicken parmigiana and fried zucchini sticks
Italian restaurant with several separate halls well suited for group events. Delicious food and good choice of drinks.
Love this place! Great antipasto, awesome pasta dishes. Beautiful restaurant, very romantic, low lights, fireplaces, historic
We have been dining at Il Fresco for years now. The service, atmosphere and cuisine are excellent. I am never disappointed and always happy to introduce new friends to this cozy authentic Italian restaurant. The owners and staff know how to accommodate your every request and will even change the ingredients to suit your meds if possible. I cannot thank the owners, staff and chefs enough for the superb service. Mille Gracie
Nice cozy feel, the most in the area for sure. The food was fantastic. We had the pizza, Italian sausage egg rolls, salmon, halibut, chicken parm, just fantastic food. My coworker brought us, and it was such a nice lunch break, because of this place.
Went here for a private party and was impressed! They gave us SO much food. Staff was friendly and attentive.
All the appetizers, entres, and desserts were amazing. Only critique is you only got 4 pan seared scallops on spinach for $32 dollars. Felt a little steep since they are not large scallops but they did taste amazing. Shrimp parm dinner was delicious with excellent portion size. Ambiance is the cool vibe you can only get in a 300 year old house. If you have any physical disabilities bear in mind the main bathrooms are upstairs. And the restaurant's layout is not disability friendly. The only bathroom on main floor is in the kitchen and not offered as an option without pushing for an alternate bathroom for a handicapped patron. All in all a great place to eat with competitive pricing, great service and a great place for intimate dining if desired l.
Well. We came here for chase dinning. Great cozy outdoor dining set up. We came here for early Sunday dinner and there were gardeners landscaping the neighboring hotel the whole time. Unfortunately it was very noisy and no relaxation. Food was little better than average. I may not come back again.
El fresco had wonderful atmosphere and wonderful service. The food however for what my husband and I ordered was absolutely terrible. We ordered the seafood Bouillabaisse Now being Italian the sauce that is in the bouillabaisse has a flavor and somewhat of a consistency. Being Italian having had this dish, not only in Italy, but in America, many many times this was the worst water down worst dish we have ever had. We refused and sent it back only to be faced with the chef that explained that his brother had made this and that he was offended. I told him I was offended having been Italian and have had this dish at many other places, and this was terribly watered down and had no taste. He was terribly insulted and left the table with not even an apology. I would say that a chef that represents a restaurant that has been established for many many years be More Receptive to a customers critique of the food that they presented to the public. Not only was I insulted, but totally appalled of how he would not even hear of what I had to say. my son, however. Had a delicious dish. And like I said service atmosphere was terrific. Stay away from the bouillabaisse. For they know not how to properly prepare it. It was so terribly watered down that The thought of putting a piece of Italian bread into that water was disgusting. It was terrible stay away from that dish.
Food is amazing, and it is cozy and quiet. They do not have a gluten free menu. I have celiac disease and after being assured by the waitress that the meal I chose was gluten free it was not. Got so incredibly sick. Response: I ordered sausage and pepper sandwich with mozzarella. No bread/no pasta. It was delicious.
Very cute and cozy restaurant, but the food is not great. If you like real Italian food, you will not enjoy these dishes, you can get the same dish at your local pizza parlor for much cheaper. Ye
Bland and underwhelming food. Unusual appetizers that look and taste like frozen items you’d see in the Costco frozen foods sections. Servers are inattentive and don’t seem to care about the guest experience. Would not recommend. What type of REAL Italian restaurant brings out a plate of grated Parmesan from a bottle and doesn’t grate it fresh table side?
The food and atmosphere are very good here but I can’t give this place 5 stars because of the value for the food. I wanted the shrimp Parmesan dish but it does NOT come with a side of pasta. It doesn’t come with any side dish. The pasta would be an extra charge. What kind of Chef would make a Parmesan dish without a side? Especially a pasta side dish not being included. All you get for the $28 is 6 shrimp and a tiny appetizer salad. That is not considered a meal especially for $28 . I have worked in the food industry for decades and I don’t know any talented chefs that would send a dish out with such bare minimums and call it dinner. Especially for $28 . For this, I would not go back. I don’t like a restaurant that cuts corners. Put some pasta on the plate, make your customers happy. A lousy $1 worth of pasta, you have lost a customer.
What a disappointment!! Lovely place with great food,BUT- our waiter forgot to order our pasta sides in the kitchen. We ordered pasta carefully because nothing comes with the main course. He said it would take at least ten minutes for the damn pastaand we were already into our mains assuming the pasta sides would arrive momentarily. We didn’t want cold main courses or pasta for dessert. What would you do? It really ruined this expensive meal.
I ate the chicken parm and it was really bad. The cheese was super thick and chewy and the sauce was bland. The chicken itself was hard like it had been frozen earlier and hadn’t thawed fully. Stay away from the “Italian” restaurant Update for owner: Yes I did eat some of it and then couldn’t anymore because it was so awful. My mom had fish was a red sauce and didn’t mind having mine with her sauce. So she gave me hers and hers was also pretty tasteless. So yea I didn’t complain until later on. Why does that matter? Maybe serve food that isn’t terrible or take it off the bill if someone complains. I’m glad I complained because maybe you will rethink that putrid lemon wine sauce and steamed veggies. Would you actually eat that yourselves?
This was an experience that is one for the books, albeit several years back: My father’s birthday party. Family gathering. I ordered some dish, chicken and prosciutto. The dish came literally floating in probably a quarter of sauce. The best part of this was when I raised my concerns to the server, the female manager was dispatched to my table where I was lectured on how “expensive prosciutto is” and that “her brother was the chef”. I told her straight out to get the check and we were leaving. We waited for another 20 minutes before I told a passing server that we were leaving if the check didn’t come. Overall, having eaten here several times as a couple, it was OK. But they cannot handle a group of 10. The customer service is deplorable. The handicapped accessibility is nearly impossible. I don’t tolerate bad service when that’s what we’re paying for at a restaurant; but frankly I don’t care who your brother is unless he has letters or stars after his name; which the proprietor here certainly does not. Don’t waste your money. Go to Piermont and take your pick of properly operated, diverse menus and management that cares. RESPONSE TO OWNER: My review is from a horrific experience at your restaurant, that was supposed to be a happy occasion which was turned into a disaster by your restaurant’s arrogant, egotistical and frankly, grossly mismanaged staff. This occurred several years ago but I believe that my experience is still relevant and that the public should be aware that I, of all people, need to be lectured by a cheaply dressed “chef’s sister sans manager” on the price of prosciutto di parma? My complaint was that the dish was drowned in a quart of processed sauce, not the lecture I was unprofessionally given that it costs whatever $ per pound? Like I said at the time, I don’t care what the cost of 2 slices of prosciutto was or is. We left your restaurant, bill paid, with our assurance that we would never return. That promise has stood. Family run restaurants are some of my favorite places to dine, the world over. Mostly because I believe in preserving small businesses. But the arrogance and outright unprofessionalism which I and my family was handled with needs to be documented for the public. My wife and I used to dine in your cellar regularly. We have never returned, nor will any member of our family even if you paid for my meal and sent a chauffeur and car. Never again. I wouldn’t tolerate Il Fresco’s arrogant management, untrained culinary staff nor their handicapped inaccessible restaurant if they gave me a lifetime of free meals. Again, not worth your time or money. We left Il Fresco that night, went to Confetti’s in Piermont and wouldn’t return if the shabby dressed “chef’s sister” personally comp’ed our meals every night for the rest of time.
