Tip: Strongly recommend any of their ceviche! Goes great with a side of tostones.
I stopped in for lunch at Mares in Hunters Creek and had a great experience. Paola was an amazing server as she full of smiles, extremely attentive, and just an overall great personality that made the visit even better. I ordered the churrasco with rice and french fries, and everything came out flavorful and well-prepared. The restaurant has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, making it a solid spot to grab lunch. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
I went there with my wife and 2 year old. Believe me they’re very picky. My wife is Peruvian and I’m Peruvian at heart. My daughter destroyed the kids pesto pasta tarallin verde. We also had leche de Tigre which was delicious. Taco taco with lomo saltado a lo pobre which was exquisite. The jalea was fresh and had plenty of busting flavor. I have to say I really wanted to try the homemade passion fruit dessert but I ended up having the alfajores. Zero regrets and I will be back. Sebastian and Arturo made my dining experience worth every penny.
Listen, I walked into Mares expecting a romantic, dimly-lit seaside escape, and instead got what can only be described as "eating excellent food in a well-lit dentist's waiting room." The ambiance screams "cafeteria chic" with all the cozy intimacy of a DMV. BUT WHO CARES?! Because the food? THE FOOD. The fish dishes here are so good they could be served on a folding table in a parking lot and I'd still give five stars. Whatever they're doing to that fish - praying over it, singing to it, I don't know - but it's transcendent. And then there's the Lomo saltado risotto, which has officially ruined all other risottos for me. It's like they took everything perfect about Peruvian cuisine and convinced Italian risotto to go on the adventure of its life. I may have audibly gasped. Multiple times. The staff is so genuinely friendly and helpful that you forget you're eating under fluorescent lights bright enough to perform surgery. They treat you like family - the kind of family that actually likes each other. So yes, five stars. The atmosphere gets a 2, but the food gets an 11, which averages out to "just go eat here and bring sunglasses if you must." Your taste buds will thank you even if your pupils won't.
Mares Real Peruvian Cuisine in Hunters Creek, Orlando, is one of the best authentic Peruvian spots around. The ceviche con un toque picantico is divine—fresh, zesty, with that perfect spicy kick that changes the game. Textures and flavors are spot-on: silky seafood, crisp bites, and bright heat in every spoonful. The arroz marinero is incredible—hearty, flavorful, packed with seafood, and super satisfying. Service is unbeatable: warm, attentive, and personal. The owner is often there, making the vibe feel like family. End with the alfajor de dulce de leche—buttery, creamy, and heavenly
This restaurant was cozy and nice and intimate for a Friday night dinner! I have tried other Peruvian restaurants but this one is by far my favorite. Everything we ordered was delicious! We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant! There are so many dishes we have yet to try!
What a delightful spot! Bright and cheery atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff (and owner!). I loved the ceviche, and my friend had fantastic chicken. Would like to come back and explore the menu some more!
First time eating peruvian food. Everything Was Excellent! Food Quality on Point and the servers were very polite I recommend it For Real If Hou Want a Good Atmosphere, Good Food, And A Great Service This is The Right Place
Atmosphere is very nice and the waiters were very attentive and kind. Before we started he also asked if anyone had allergies :) We ordered a “Pulpo a la Parilla” and a Fried Fish Chaufa and the food was delicious. The best thing we ordered was the pulpo, it was cooked super soft and had a smoky flavor, probably the best octopus I’ve ever tasted. If you’re looking for great seafood/Peruvian food, this is the place!
Mares is the best restaurant for Peruvian food !!! I loved the lomo saltado , it’s so delicious they use filet mignon, the finest steak , the atmosphere is beautiful and the service is top tier !! The food was amazing and loved the music playlist! Food was authentic peruvian dishes. Our favorite was the pasta a la huancaina. Made with fresh ingredients and from scratch. Will definitely go back.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was great. The lady was open to questions and treated us with respect and kindness. Portions were big and easily worth the money. Almost no wait either. Would definitely go again.

Such a nice place and the food is exact the same as Perú!🇵🇪
Family style restaurant. Great food and atmosphere. The staff and owner are always around and keeping customers happy. Came here with family and events and it's the same treatment. I am new to Orlando and I will definitely always come back here.
Wow, what an incredible experience! I’ve been searching high and low for a restaurant that truly embodies the essence of Nikkei and Peruvian cuisine since I moved from South America. And guess what? We found it! Esteban and Paola were absolutely amazing, providing us with a service that was nothing short of extraordinary. It was a truly delightful and memorable dining experience. 100% recommend 😍😍😍
Spectacular service and food! Everything we ordered was 10/10. Arturo, the owner, is amazing and made us feel so welcome. If you want to experience real Peruvian cuisine, this is the place! We tried three different desserts and loved every single one — especially the alfajores. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! ♥️
The food was amazing and full of authentic Peruvian flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The service was excellent — the server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. I’ll definitely be coming back!
The two of us came in around 12:30, walk in on sunday with no wait. Very relaxed atmosphere. The servers were always on top of service and very kind. Strongly recommend any of their ceviche! Goes great with a side of tostones. The food i saw on the other tables looked and smelled delicious too.
We had a fantastic time at this place. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and prompt. We had octopus ( pulpo à la parrilla), it was delicious. We came twice! Nice experience! I’ll be back on my next trip for sure!
Amazing Experience! The seafood was excellent — the arroz marinero was absolutely delicious, and the ceviches were fantastic. The Peruvian ceviche in particular was full of flavor and very fresh. Highly recommended! The lomo salteado was also outstanding. The service was wonderful — we were treated very well from start to finish. We ended the meal with coffee and dessert, which were both great. The atmosphere is really enjoyable. You can sit either indoors or outdoors, and both spaces offer a completely different but equally pleasant vibe. The prices may be a bit on the higher side, but the quality of the food and the excellent service make it totally worth it. Definitely a place I would recommend and come back to.
