The scenery of the place is peaceful and the food was good. Our server was nice and honest with us when it came to the food, they provided us their recommendations and I ordered the burger cooked medium well. Server said they tend to burn it sometimes so they put in a medium and it came out perfect 😂 they were honest and we appreciated it. I asked for my burger to come with garlic bread instead of buns and it was delicious with the swiss cheese.

This is an update, we still love this location and now that it has been renovated it looks clean and modern. Everytime we are in the area we make sure that we visit here. The price is good, the food is good and the service is great. My wife and I enjoy stopping here every time we are in the I-drove area. This is not high-class dining, but the surroundings are suitable for a bbq restaurant. When we leave, the staff has always offered a to go cup for our drinks . First of all I am a sucker for BBQ. This location has stolen my heart! Omg from the moment you walk in you get hit with that oh so yummy smell. The location is so simple and beautiful and it was so clean!! Plenty of parking outside. They serve the soft drinks in huge cups which was pretty cool. I ordered the beef brisket grilled cheese which was so delicious! I asked for Mac and cheese as my side which was also Mac'in!!! I loved my meal. My partner ordered a pulled pork sandwich and it was loaded with pork! He also loved it. The table has paper towels and four different BBQ sauces. The original BBQ sauce was phenomenal!!! The service was amazing! I mean our waiter was so nice and amazing. We really felt at home. Erin thank you for the amazing service!! Definitely coming back every trip we do. Wow this place became my favorite choice for BBQ! Plus everything was very affordable!!!

Had a wonderful dinner tonight at Sonny’s! The staff was kind and attentive. The food was delicious as always! I had their seasonal maple bbq pork tips! Soooo good!! Shawna, the manager, was absolutely wonderful! She was extremely kind and makes time to talk to the patrons who are dining. I highly recommend this exact restaurant, if not for the delicious food, then for the energetic and positive spirit of Shawna. She literally made our meal even better than it was!! I had the rib and chicken combo. Both were absolutely delicious! The chicken skin was nice and crispy. The ribs were also excellent. My sides were baked beans and coleslaw slaw, and I also had a corn muffin, with cinnamon butter. These are my favorites here! They are always sticky, and melt in your mouth flavor. Cole slaw is also good, the beans here are a bit too sweet for me, but I still order them every time I come! Also, Shawna greeted us when we arrived, and when we left, she made us feel like a part of the sonnys family. Great job to everyone there!

Restaurant was completely understaffed and we had a group from a college bowling tournament, over 15 people. Manager Shawna apologized to us all and sat us and then took care of us herself. She was amazing, and the food was good. Kudos to her and the staff for not only accommodating us, but giving us the kind of service we always expect from Sonny’s. Great job to all!!!

I've bot been to many Sonny's locations but this one was great. The server was fantastic and friendly, the ribs were delicious (seems like a hit or miss at most BBQ places), and at least when we went there was plenty of space during the week. Highly recommend for a great BBQ option from what I experienced.

I always have a good experience at this Sonny’s location specifically. There’s a worker there by the name of Ayriana. She is so kind, very attentive and will always make you feel welcomed. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and her positive attitude just adds to the whole experience, you can tell that she cares and I hope to have her again on my next visit.

A good place to eat barbeque near the Florida Mall This Sonny’s BBQ is located right off the east side of SR 441 in Central Florida, just southwest of downtown Orlando, Florida and just north of the Florida Mall. This restaurant is part of the well-known Sonny’s chain that started in Gainesville in 1968. This location delivered on the brand’s reputation for solid barbecue and good, efficient, and friendly service. The building is easy to spot and has plenty of parking around the sides and back. It was a little tricky to get to since the parking lot to the south of the restaurant did not connect with their parking lot. Inside, the atmosphere is classic new Sonny’s design. The seating is mostly booths with some larger tables to the back. We were greeted quickly by a friendly hostess and seated in a booth, which seems to be the default at most Sonny’s locations. The service was efficient from start to finish. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and french fries with a tea for the drink. All of the food came out hot and fresh within minutes. The meat was tender and flavorful, especially when topped with Sonny’s signature sweet sauce (my favorite). For a full meal and drinks, the price came out under $35 for two people, which is a good price for a sit-down barbecue restaurant. All in all, this Sonny’s lives up to the high standards of the chain—reliable, tasty, and budget-friendly. A great stop for a good meal near the mall.

I was the first customer arriving for lunch dining and was greeted with a nice welcoming smile. It had been more than ten years since my last visit to any Sonny's location, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that many of my favorite items were still available. I chose the Pick-3 meat combo and two of my selections were excellent in all ways possible. The side of cole slaw was very fresh and a generous serving. The garlic bread and fries were enjoyable as well. I tried all of the BBQ sauce varieties on the table, and that made for a different experience when even trying the same item. I'm sure there is a good business reason, but I would suggest that when starting the day don't put all dining customers directly next to each other in adjacent booths. Although there is/was only one server handling all for a while, it might be nice to have a space of one empty booth between those occupied for a little while. I can easily recommend this Sonny's location to any who might be in the area, and I intend to return myself soon.

I’ve been a customer of this place for several years. The dine-in staff has always been excellent—friendly, quick, and the food consistently good. However, this time I used the drive-thru, and the experience was very disappointing. I waited 25 minutes from the time I ordered to when I received my food, and there were no cars ahead of me. I placed my order through the speaker and was told to wait, but no one followed up. I drove to the second window to see what had happened. The cook was kind and said he would find the person in charge, but the lady responsible for the drive-thru was clearly not doing her job properly. I appreciate that the manager listened to my complaint, but honestly, I hope the drive-thru service improves. This place deserves to maintain its good reputation in all areas.

We were seated quite quickly but had to wait to be served. The server was really not very interested. We asked about a cocktail drinks menu and she pretended there wasn't one. The drinks eventually took around 10 Minutes to arrive. The food took an additional 20 mins and was cold! Other guests got tired of waiting and walked out. We would have complained but we did not see the server again. The green beans were absolutely disgusting. They were stewed and stone cold. We eventually managed to get the check, paid cash and left without seeing a server. This was the worst meal I have had in 2 weeks in Florida. I will not return which is a shame as we enjoyed our previous experience.

That’s not just unprofessional — it feels intentionally misleading. This kind of service reflects poorly on management. It creates a frustrating, unwelcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like your business isn’t valued. If this is what Sonny’s considers acceptable service, then someone at the corporate level needs to step in and raise the bar. Very disappointed and frustrated. I’ll be telling my friends, family, and social media followers to avoid this location altogether.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced. I waited over 30 minutes and was completely ignored. The staff continued serving other customers while I sat there without any attention. No apology, no explanation — nothing. This level of disrespect and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid it.
