Opinions de Veranda Restaurant & Lounge Orlando
Great place to get delicious Ukrainian 🇺🇦dishes like borsch, holubtsi (stuffed cabbage rolls), syrnyky. My husband and I also really enjoyed a stewed pork with polenta which is a Romanian dish. The staff were super friendly and nice. Next time we drive through Orlando we would definitely stop by again!
Phenomenal food, great ambiance, knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have amazing food. They have great drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. If you are thinking alcoholic, then they have good cocktails as well as sour cherry vodka. Nonalcoholic I recommend the lattes and cappuccinos. The honey cake and lamb are my favorite dishes.
Came all the way from Vegas to try out food at Veranda restaurant since we heard so many good things about it! And it was totally worth it. Legit homemade food is guaranteed. Feels even more special when you are homesick. Everything is super delicious and all employees are very nice and attentive to you. Special thanks to our server Aleksandra! Would put 10 stars if I could
My family and I had a wonderful meal last night. First time enjoying Eastern European cuisine and the staff was very helpful in introducing to scrumptious food. I highly recommend the lamb shank and a bottle of Moldavia wine. Really enjoyed the live music and excellent service. Looking forward to coming back.
I love this place! I've had an eye on this restaurant ever since they opened (because it's the only Romanian restaurant around). I went with a group of friends because I wanted them to experience a bit of my country's cuisine. We were not disappointed: both the food and the drinks were awesome! We all ordered different cocktails (Romanian inspired) and I couldn't decide on a favorite. I had Amanta (the Mistress), a cherry cocktail, and I loved it. The dessert was also really good and very cutesy presented. I will definitely go again.
My mother and I came here to get a taste of home. The food that was served to us tasted so delicious, it was as if your grandmother cooked it. The soups are served with sour cream and a Serrano pepper, much like they serve in Eastern European countries. The mămăligă is also served in traditional Romanian style and it was very creamy and seasoned well. We had the Syrniki for dessert and it came along with with sour cream, fruit compote, and honey. I also highly recommend the homemade tea, as it is brewed to perfection and presented with fresh mint leaves and lemon.
Simultaneously authentic and gourmet Slavic cuisine. Came for the dressed herring and it was the best I've had in my entire life. A full, joyous and memorable experience. The welcoming staff treated us like family. We'll be back again and again!
This place was absolutely amazing! I went with some friends and had never experienced this type of cuisine before. We tried a bit of everything and it was all so delicious. Andreea was our server and she made the experience all the better. She was very attentive, fun, and even shared with us some specialty drinks from her home country. I can't recommend this place highly enough!
Came to Veranda’s for our wedding anniversary. The experience from walking in through the door to leaving was amazing. We learned SO much about food from Eastern Europe from our well educated server. The food was delicious! We felt like the restaurant welcomed us to their “home”. Everyone was so thoughtful and kind. You just can’t go wrong ordering anything from here.
This place is immaculate and inviting with an eastern Europe charm. Out waitress was from Moldova and was just right with service. The food was delicious and presented well. Do not forget to have soup with your dinner and if you are too full for desert, then take it home. Mnam!
If you want a magical experience for dinner outside of Disney this is the best place to go! Burak and Andrea (sorry for any misspelling) were both great. I had the borscht and cabbage rolls, both done to perfection! The lamb chops were "melt in your mouth" style and the dressed herring was a good surprise. The kompot was sweet but not too sweet. We finished with syrniki, be sure to drizzle with a little honey, and finally we completed the dinner with a latte. The food and atmosphere was a memorable experience!! Sorry I didn't get more photos of the food before it was all gone.
So happy to finally try this place! It had been on my list since before COVID and a friend and I finally checked it out. The staff were all super friendly and the food was all very good. Pictured are the chicken schnitzel, the caviar bruschetta, the polenta, and their recommended dessert (syrniki). The restaurant itself was cozy and cute. We happened upon it on a Russian-language trivia night and although we didn't know a lick of Russian, it was still super cool to see it unfold as we ate our food and had our tasty mojitos. Will absolutely be returning here!
The hour trip from Melbourne to Orlando was well worth the trip for the best Kiev Chicken cutlet. They have paired it with red cabbage and carrots slaw. I personally recommend the grilled corn to add as a side. Everything was amazing! I have never had beets taste as exquisite as they are here. The diversity and knowledge of the Eastern European staff is wonderful. We felt more like a member of the family than just customers. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!
My husband chose this restaurant for Father’s Day dinner to my surprise. The inside is lovely. The staff is very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about their menu. We loved everything; especially the Herring filet and dressed herring. Also a big hit was the caviar bruschettas. We will definitely be coming back and with room for desserts next time. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday dinner.
Today I came here, almost by accident and what an amazing restaurant. Starting with Burka, he's a very knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and professional server who made my lunch experience above and beyond with his recommendations and insight into the dishes. The food was impressive yet very comforting, balanced, and satisfying. Also, the place was so clean, polish, and just impeccable. I give this place an outstanding ovation because it left me with the best of the impressions on the very first visit. Can't wait to return in my next Orlando layover. Overall, I give an 11/10 calcification to the whole place!!!
Absolutely amazing experience at this restaurant!!! This was the first Russian restaurant that came up when we started looking and we drove here without checking any reviews or the menu, and left the restaurant super satisfied. Our server was very nice, friendly, professional, and even gave us great recommendations what other places to visit while in Orlando! The prices are great too, not overpriced. Food and drinks were SUPER DELICIOUS!!!! Only thing I would add - I wish they played more Russian music :) When we were there, it was pretty quiet...
So, I have been trying to get here from Lake Mary for some time and the drive was always too long (seemed like). I wish I made myself come here a few months ago! Such an amazing place! Food is very authentic - mixture of Russian and Romanian -Moldovanian... I ordered a few things to try and was so deliciously full afterwards that I was driving and smiling. Service was great. Place was very busy for a Wednesday night. I would absolutely recommend it!
We were in Orlando for a conference and happened by this treasure. We ordered Red Caviar Bruschetta and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Grilled Chicken Avocado Salad. The portion was huge and was so tasty. I was going to order the Chicken Ceasar Salad, but our wonderful server, Andrea, suggested the Shuba. She said she would bring us a piece and if we didn't like it, she wouldn't charge us! She was so passionate and convincing, I changed my order. It was delicious. My only complaint...I won't be here long enough to return to this treasure.
** Russian Restaurant ** if you’ve ever wanted to get a taste for Russian/Uzbekistan cuisine your search is over! I had their lamb chops and it was soft and delicious. They are a little under staff and didn’t have a bartender but the food was great and service was nice. Hidden Russian treat!
Our waiter/server was super kind, knew a bunch of cool facts about the food history and culture. The food was really good as well, definitely coming back here again! The service definitely stood out compared to most restaurants.
Love Veranda! Always a great selection of scrumptious and fresh Eastern European cuisine. I came in for the Plov, which was recently introduced to their menu. DELICIOUS!! My friend had the chicken kabobs, very juicy and flavorful. Ambiance was great, enjoyed the music selection. And special shout out to our server, Burak, for friendly, fantastic service, and solid suggestions. Will be back!
Excellent service staff; Oleksandra was kind and made generous introductions to all the best selections Veranda had on the menu. The food was delicious and great value for money. Will definitely be back. 1) Carbonara Pasta….Simply delicious!!! 2) 16oz Ribeye Steak…huge, well seasoned, cooked perfectly. 3) Caviar Bruschetta and placinta bread stuffed w/ cheese and dill…great ways to start.
Eastern European eateries are hard to come by and Veranda is a gem of a find! (We loved DJ’s Bistro Eastern European food in Concord, CA, but that was 17 years ago.) Not only was all the food delicious but we were truly welcomed by the humble, friendly, even happy service of Burak (see photo). With a love for all the countries and peoples represented in the menu he highlighted dishes I might enjoy. Of note, the next table had three young students speaking Russian who were of Ukrainian and Russian descent. They were traveling through and hadn’t had Eastern European food in a while and they excitedly enjoyed all the food, each other’s company and Burak, who can befriend anyone if you’ll let him. My husband ordered the Kiev Chicken, which came with a red cabbage slaw. My husband added mashed potatoes to the plate. The chicken had an herbed butter in its center that might have had fresh dill in it. My husband shared a bite with me and it was so delicious; he ate it all up. I had just eaten so I ordered the Syrniki, cheese-filled fried cakes with raspberry jelly and sour cream on the side. The cheese is quark (tvorog), and tasted like a light version of ricotta. We have Ukrainian friends and I requested honey alongside my Syrniki. It was heavenly. So was the red cabbage slaw (I eat salad for dessert sometimes and ate the slaw at the end of our meal). We decided we liked Burak so much my reserved husband consented to a picture with him (!) and we wish all the best to Burak and his wife, who is a bit worried about the upcoming hurricane because it’s her first. Next time we will try the Shawarma, Borscht and Chicken Soup. Highly recommend!

Went last night with a large group. All the food looked fabulous! I had the Lamb Chops(COSTITE DE MIEL) which were the best I'v had. It took a while for all of us to get out plates, but there were about 40 of us! Even then, none of the dishes looked rushed or thrown together, and everyone liked their food. One person even had Hawaiian Pizza! The staff did a fine job of keeping track of everything.

Not all food amazing at all , I think they need a new cook , also table salt containers which are rusted . It was disgusting to use those containers. We asked the server to change them but our request was ignored. Old Russian standards. Most diners are much cleaner than this restaurant.
I was looking forward to coming here... I heard good things... I wasn't as lucky as my sister. We came for my dads 80th birthday. 10 people. The beef was tasteless and Chewy... most of the food came tasteless.. the atmosphere was not what I expected... im sure the servers were not Russian, Moldovan or any part of that area... they were nice but clueless... the music was hip hop so not the atmosphere I expected. Im from Moldova and really wanted to love it, I would of settled for liking it but the food was just not good...nobody in the group liked it too.. im sorry.

Update 9/26/21: Ordered delivery of Mititei with Korean carrots x2, Plăcinte with extra cheese stuffing x4 and 1 Olivier. This is probably the worst food I've ever had. The Mititei meat was like rubber, potatoes (side) were bland and tasteless, Korean carrots inedible. Literally the worst ever carrots I've ever had. Mind you when I picked the sides (through Slice app) it let me choose between potatoes and Korean carrots and others. I didn't even want the potatoes, that's why I got the carrots and was hoping for some side cabbage salad as they normally have for Mititei. But I guess they decided they know better and thus resulted in me getting two useless sides with my rubber Mititei. As for Plăcinte: out of the 4 ordered one box of two came with extra stuffing and the other did not. That's Moldovan service for you. Dropping rating to 1 star. Seems like the cooking gets worse over time here, not better. Not sure if I'm gonna give this place another chance. Delivery time again was inaccurate, but whatever. UPDATE: They need to work with Slice regarding posted delivery times, other than that the food was amazing the fourth time I ordered and the instructions were followed. Kudos to the owner, because he does care about his customers. Leaving it at 4 stars for now, we'll see how it goes on future orders. OLD REVIEW: Ordered delivery. Initial order was over $100, but cause they didn't have some of my items (second time in a row happening already for the same item) the amount ended up being less. Asked for dressing on the side, yet all 3 salads came mixed with the dressing. Restaurant offered $4 refund on salads that were a total of $19.50. Not good enough, guys. I cannot use these salads because of your mistake. This is my third time ordering from them and I think it might be my last time. First time I ordered the was an issue with delivery personnel, second time they cancelled my order within less than 10 min of me placing it because they didn't have Kvas and placinte this time they didn't have Kvas and Mititei plus they messed up my salads.
The server was very sweet. They didn't have a bartender for drinks, they didn't have ice for the water and the food was terrible. The soup tasted like sink water and the boiled chicken was overcooked. The mixed grill, was 40 dollars! All the meat on the plate was overcooked and flavorless. Those sauced your see where ketchup and yellow Heniz mustard. Would not go there again.
