Burnout BBQ

This place is a must visit. First time going here but definitely we will come back. It's a little bit pricey but you pay for how its served and how it looks the place and the food. Quick service and the ladies who work there are really kind. Food was really good. We had the bucket with ribs, chicken wings, fries and onion rings & fries with pulled pork. Im not fun of the meat usually but i really enjoyed of the fries with pulled pork. My husband said the ribs were really delicious too. Corn is something i always ordered if its on the menu, but i wouldn't order again here. Not my taste, it was too watery and had very heavy butter taste. However we are definitely coming back to try something new.

We went here for our son’s birthday meal. What an amazing place, it’s only small so book in advance, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. Make sure you’re hungry as the portions are quite large I could only eat half of the fries that came with the bucket of bones. The beef box, bucket of bones, mac and cheese and the sweet potato fries were all really tasty.

Hands down the best BBQ I've ever tasted, no imitations here, just pure delicious BBQ. Highly recommend the platter to share. Restaurant is a great theme and staff were spot on. Visit here!

Great quality food and plate sizes at small prices. The atmosphere is very nice and welcoming and the workers are very polite. Food taste very good and my partner said their buffalo wings are the best he has had so far in Oxford. The burgers are perfect and sides are in big portions. Worth the trip 10/10

Went for my birthday, food was great and the staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend to pay a visit. They even have a challenge for the brave.

Overall experience was fantastic!! Only a small restaurant (I think maybe 10 tables?) so recommend booking in advance if possible. First time so we tried the sharing platter so that we could experience as much of the menu as possible... Now, we're big eaters, but still took home a box full! Service was great, friendly and down to earth but very laid back vibes. The food was exceptional - not a single part didn't go down well. Seasoned fries, salted corn, huge selection of dips, and all of the meat - ribs, wings, burnt ends, pulled pork and brisket - were absolutely outstanding and cooked to perfection. We will absolutely be back, and soon, too - especially for more brisket and burnt ends!

Since moving from the US to the UK five years ago, one of the things I've missed most is the lack of decent BBQ food. No one in the three cities I've lived in has ever done pulled pork or brisket the way we do back home - until now. This is the place I'll come whenever I'm homesick. I had the Philly fries with coleslaw for my main and the Cajun spiced Mac n cheese appetizer, and both were delicious and very generously portioned. I felt quite stuffed from these and didn't have room for dessert, which was a shame because the milkshakes look amazing. I'd recommend coming with friends and coming hungry - the portions are very big, and great value for price. This is definitely a casual joint, perfect for a Friday night. The waitresses are super friendly and the food comes out quickly. I'd highly recommend this for a casual, laid-back night.

Left Burnout BBQ very happy and very full! The menu is pretty big, so you'll find something for almost everyone on there. Although it's a meat heavy menu, there are a few veggie options too. The quality of the food is really good - the theme is "American smokehouse diner" and I think it nails it, i was very pleased with what I ordered. In terms of drinks, they serve enough, although i think they could offer a few more varieties of soft and alcoholic drinks, as there wasn't a huge selection. The staff are friendly, and operate a "pay at the bar" system which works well as you can just leave when you're done. It's not a huge place, so I'd definitely recommend booking ahead. The decor matches the US diner theme, but the overall ambience isn't as corny you might think - the music was really good! Overall, really happy with the experience, and although it's not the cheapest place in Summertown, it represents reasonable value for what's offered.

Pretty decent barbecue and big portions. The sauce was ok, the coleslaw was alright but the meat was well seasoned and tender. Anyone wanting a Tex mex bbq experience should try this place.

LOVE the food at Burnout BBQ, it’s one of the nicest places I have eaten around Oxford and we do not have many like this one. The staff are always so friendly and amazing at what they do. A lot of time must go in to what they do to get the food like this. I would recommend this place to anyone. I have been with friends and family and they have all love it.

As an American living in the UK, I was so happy to run across this place! We had the ribs, pulled pork, brisket and burnt ends. All of it was delicious. Great sauces. Even the gravy was good! Only addition I would make to the menu is cornbread, but the dinner rolls were great! Wish I lived closer to Oxford!

The place was pretty full so we had the takeout option and waited at the bar with a pint. The wait wasn't too long. And the food was gorgeous I went for dirty fries aswell. All in all was a very nice burger and lovely dirty fries. Definitely recommend

Outstanding food!! I've been looking to order at this place for a while as it has amazing reviews and it didn't dissapoint. Food was fantastic and portion size is great (I'm a big eater) I ordered the pulled pork fries and there definitely enough for 2 people. Keep up the good work guys will definitely order again!!

Beautiful food and big portions. Our first time trying brisket and it did not disappoint! Lovely helpful staff and really good food. Will definitely fill you up. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting oxford.

Amazing chicken burgers, really want to come back to try the BBQ trays. The staff are really helpful and the service is top notch. The seasoning and quality of the BBQ food is insane. Everything we had was so tasty.

Lovely little spot! There’s not much in the way of good BBQ diners around Oxford. The halloumi bites and “chicken wings” weren’t great, the ribs were a bit too chewy, the brisket was a little dry. That being said, super awesome place to come and pig out! The portions were massive, loads of options on the menu so something for everyone. the sauces are to die for and although the brisket & ribs aren’t perfect in terms of tenderness & moisture, they are really tasty and packed full of flavour. The milkshakes were also amazing. If you come here usually you’ll spend between 20-40 pp but definitely worth it because you will absolutely leave with a full belly. Will be back.

Food was sensational!!!! Huge portions so we boxed up and took it home too! Atmosphere was great and service nice and quick too!!

Went here on a Saturday night, the service was impeccable and the food was so worth the hype. We got the sharing tray and we were so impressed, all the meat was beautifully cooked, it melted in the mouth and flavours were sensational. Best BBQ I’ve had in years and I can’t wait to come again (I just need to let my tummy settle for a month after this meal!!)

Excellent food, my wife and I both had hot dogs with cheesy loaded fries and some burnt ends. All the food was lovely, tasty, and came in generous portions. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere; we will definitely visit again!

The best place to eat in Oxford. !! Proper American style BBQ food. Proper seasoned coleslaw, the best I've had in UK.!! The brisket and sides were divine. Loved the country music too!! Good vibes from this local family run business. Friendly staff, big portions . Definitely recommend 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥

Best BBQ in Oxfordshire! Perhaps the country?! Love the decor, the friendly staff and the delicious meat. The Burnout BBQ's own beer also goes down very nicely. Hope to visit again soon.

Been here a few times, every time i have had something different. Every single thing I taste is 10/10. The girls on the counter are absolutely brilliant 👏🏼 they have an amazing staff and a nice cosy restaurant. Every single time I go Oxford this is rhe one place I know i cant go wrong with the food.

We had been seated quickly and the service was lovely. The staff is polite. The food was the best I had in Oxford, served fast, hot, fresh and the portions are massive!!! Delicious BBQ and the absolute best Buffalo chicken wings I had ever have. You can tell the meat is smoked on the premises because it tasted like BBQ competition meat. We had brisket and ribs and the ribs were massive as well. Really good to have such a spot in Oxford. Must try! They have a car as a bar which is pretty cool!

Everything was amazing! The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my mom in-laws food allergies. The food is out of this world and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. We went for my daughters 18th birthday and we will be back! The food, chefs kiss!

Fantastic american bar-b-q. Food is absolutly delicious. Great menu with lots to choose from. Great value as they offer discounts on extras (loaded fries for £5, bargain). Take out available. I have been multiple times both eating in and take out and will continue to visit. Also staff are fast and friendly. 5star.

Great atmosphere and interior design, particularly the car benches. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Nice that there was no service charge, but boxes to give a tip, which we did. We opted for the sharing platter. Everything was high quality and tasty sides. The only thing was the flavours became a bit samey. Burnt ends, pork rib and pulled pork were all sweet, which became a bit much, and felt like pudding. Chicken wings were excellent, crispy and moist. We would return but stick with the brisket, and one sweet meat.

Saw this place while walking past and decided we needed to give it a go! Typically American in style, music a bit loud for easy conversation. Varied menu with something for everyone, well meat lovers anyway! Portions for trays and burger were huge, the salad however was very small. Food was tasty. Would certainly return.

Extremely tasty pulled pork at the west gate. Fresh and tasty highly recommended. The service was quick and there’s plenty of seating. Definitely will try again at some point.

We are an American and British duo. I'm the American and I ordered the chili cheese hot dog (upgraded to beef) with brisket fries which I added American cheese to. My husband had the waffle beef taco and the burnout full throttle. Ordered one milkshake and a couple sodas. The food was okay, but we feel this place is overly hyped and overpriced. We spent a total of $87 here. We've had brisket at several other places in the area and it was comparable in flavor and quality. (Served in Mexican food and Asian cuisine). The hot dog had good flavor and was generously portioned. My brisket fries were a let down. We paid extra for adding American cheese (as nacho cheese) and they put the smallest drizzle. After eating the top layer of the fries, the rest was left very dry and lacking so I couldn't finish it. My husband thought his waffle taco was a good concept, but we agree the food itself is average. Good food ideas but without proper execution, it's just an average food place.

Visited at 8 on a wet Wednesday, so no trouble getting a seat. This is pretty authentic stuff. I opted for the burnt ends tray, which was easily enough for two. Probably 200g of meat, a smoked sausage, pot of beans, slaw, gravity, another 200g of chips, a cob of corn and a bun (American Yorkshire pudding thing). For me, the burnt ends weren't burnt anywhere near enough, anthe sauce was too sweet, but that's personal taste. Go if you like food with a Southern States vibe (just without any chili's).

Place: Nice rustic vibes. Food: The burger and fries were really good and fresh. There brisket is really tender but a bit too saucy for my liking. Regardless the sandwich was really good. Service: Good service. Overall: A good place to go for an elevated fresh burger. 7/10.

I only got takeaway rather than dining but the food was good and the portions large. There aren't that many BBQ places around and it's good to see somewhere offering a good range and selection of sides. I did find the meat a little dry, but overall very tasty.

Amazing food, decent amount and the staff were great. Way too loud for a family restaurant though - I love music playing, but it must have been on max volume 😅

This is a review of the restaurant in the Westgate. After visiting and loving the Summertown restaurant we thought we’d try the one in Westgate. Not as good sadly! Halloumi burger was cold and missing half the toppings it was advertised as having, Burnout Box had a big lump of fat on top rather than actual brisket. Soft drink was not chilled either. Wouldn’t go back to this one.

Far from the best American bbq. The food is dry and drained in a sweet bbq sauce. Brisket was the only thing barely eatable, pork ribs and burnt ends were pretty bad, not fresh and pretty dry. If you had great American bbq before, you would be sorely disappointed.

It would be unjust to assign them a zero rating since our experience was not connected to the food itself, as we never even had the opportunity to taste it. I checked both the official website and Google, which state that they are open until 10 PM on Thursdays. After driving for an hour, we arrived just after 9 PM, only to be turned away and informed that the kitchen had closed at 9 PM. Why isn't this information clearly stated on the website? It's truly misleading and wasted our time.

attended all locations and they are absolutely brilliant, tried the westgate one and it was not up to the others expectations, even part of the meet was really fatty and under cooked , staff didn't seem to know what they was doing and wasn't very accommodating when asked what's best to eat and where to collect your order from
