Great place for dinner. Group of 6. Business dinner. Reservation was available only an hour ahead. Food waa great. Good variery and quality. The mussels were so tasty. I talented both the bisque and the chowder and would order again. Our waitress was phenomenal. Cocktails were a little slow out of the bar, but all else was well.

Still don't understand why I could not sit on the porch but service was great food was well prepared and presented. Calamari was a bit chewy but has a very nice flavor with just a bit of heat. Fish and chips and stuffed salmon for entree both excellent. Chocolate bag and brown butter cake for dinner. Again excellent well developed flavors. The bottom of the chocolate "bag" was a bit thick which made it hard to break but the white chocolate mousse had a nice texture and not the typical white chocolate taste. Overall best meal I had while in the area. Bullet old fashion was well mixed as well. Could have been a bit stronger but I like my drinks stronger than most.

We were greeted by Kaia who welcomed us with such kindness and graciousness. That makes all of the difference especially on a holiday. She set the tone and I am thankful. We were there on Christmas and seated by the window in the two seater table, Camille’s section. Camille was simply amazing from her attentiveness, on point recommendations, friendliness, patience, warm personality and good conversation without being intrusive. By the end of our visit, I felt like a valued customer. Both of us enjoyed our meals so much that we didn’t take too many photos. I had the salmon stuffed with shrimp and crab, it was a reasonable portion which left room for dessert. We also had the calamari as our appetizer. Oh and my daughter wanted to try ginger ale with lavender syrup to settle her stomach from earlier in the day. Chef’s kiss! Give it a try… if you’re a ginger ale person, you will love it!. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant although it was bustling (again it was Christmas Day). Cozy, tasteful decor. I will definitely return when I’m in the area again. Thank you so much!

Place is nice, especially if u want to splurge on yourself and family or friends...took the wife there for our anniversary dinner. It did not disappoint! Shrimp wrapped in bacon and lobster bisque to start, Salmon and Ahi Tuna for the main course and finish it off with a pineapple brown butter cake. Yum! Oh, and the wife enjoyed it as well. ;-)

Betty Jane did a wonderful job. The cocktails are very tasty with plenty of spirits. Finally, a restaurant that can cook a steak to a PERFECT medium rare! The food was amazing and the service is excellent. We cannot wait for a return visit to the new favorite at the Harbor! Unfortunately, we had no room for desert and will have to remember that next time.

I don’t care what anyone says about M&S it’s got the nicest weeknight bartender and best happy hour in Crystal City bar none

"We celebrated a birthday at McCormick & Schmick’s and had an amazing time! The service was attentive, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere made the night even more special. Great food, great service, and a fun celebration all around!"

Nice place, beautiful location. Reserved table but we ended up getting table by the bar so we all can watch football :). Staffs were very attentive and friendly. They made sure our champagne glasses never run out. We definitely order variety of good delicious items on the menu. Definitely recommend this place if you ever visiting the national harbor area. Enjoy the pictures!!!

This is actually not my first time being here. I came here before the covid 19 times and experience always has been great. This time, after reservation, I asked for outside seating and the distance between the table were awesome. The drinks, appetizer, and the foods were all great. I ordered truffle fries, chicken pasta, calamari, and awesome cocktails. Also because it was my birthday weekend, they even brought out a cheesecake as well. Overall I felt safe and the experience with them was great. Bathroom was also very clean and social distancing with masks were also awesome! Try them out. They are worth it even during this time.

I must say this has been by far the closest to perfect meal I’ve ever had. The appetizer was great. The drinks were great. And my entrée was so delicious. When I first received the meal I thought to myself oh this portion is nothing. Not sure who figured it out but the amount of food given filled you without being stuffed. It was perfect. Definitely will return.

Everything was very nice! Food was good. My steak was perfect and had a ton of flavor (I got the center cut rib eye) Keith was our server. He took great care of us. All in all, it was a great dinner to celebrate my friends bday.

Easily one of the best restaurants in the area! The drinks are especially good! 1. Chocolate basket is a MUST 2. Crab Cake app is incredible 3. Smoked Old Fashioned 4. Chilean Sea Bass (perfect flavour profile)

Food was good here. Had a short wait although we made reservations. The dining area seems a little crowed but the atmosphere is nice and the view of the harbor from the table is beautiful. The food and drinks here were good. And the service was alright.

Weird experience but not bad.. our waitress was switched out after taking our drink order. They forgot the table side bread until right before we left. The smash burger wasn't really smashed. Calamari was PERFECT. Wagyu beef carpaccio was mostly just a bed of arugula for $18. Lobster bisque was very good.

I was long overdue for a visit here as I haven't been to this location since at least 2013! So when a friend & I decided to meet up for lunch, we drove along the National Harbor site & I said I didn't care about where we dined, as long as there was a good variety of options. When she asked, "How about McCormick & Schmick's?" it was an immediate "YES" from me! Upon arrival, there was only a handful of customers inside & we opted to sit at the bar. Our server was so nice & attentive. My friend ordered the Yellowfin Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl with a Sparking Passion margarita & I had the M&S Smash Burger with a raspberry (Moscow) mule. The cocktails were yummy & clearly made with quality ingredients. And despite putting my order in a few minutes after my friend, our food arrived at the same time. Nice. Shortly after we began eating, more patrons arrived & the music was turned on...I don't recall hearing background music earlier & it really livened things up a bit. Everything was beautifully presented & most importantly, it was all scrumptious. To my surprise, I received two hamburger patties, which were perfectly cooked. The cheddar & Fontina cheese combination was heavenly, as I could taste cheese with each bite. On top of that, the brioche bun was perfectly warm & toasty & the fries were freshly made. I probably would've devoured the serving plate if it wasn't made of wood!

My bf and I went for dinner and it was absolutely amazing! Service was nice not the best but it was pretty nice. The food is out of this world. We started with the shrimp kisses for appetizers. Went ahead and ordered drinks the dulce sangria and burbon experience. We ordered the Atlantic salmon and ribeye steak and this was probably the best food ever. Finished off with chocolate truffle cake and a mocha affogato. I would recommend this place 10/10!!!

I highly recommend the next time you are at national harbor go here! They have a multi course special going for $38. The service was great. The food was amazing. If you want to be overall satisfied with the food you pick and the exquisite quality of the food then go here. This restaurant atmosphere is a dress to impress vibe but during the week it seems more relaxed crowd. Right now rockfish is market price and in season. The fresh fish was cooked to perfection. I liked the grilled lemon as an extra layer of flavor.

From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere. The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring every detail of the experience was perfect. The food was the star of the evening—perfectly prepared, fresh, and full of flavor. Each dish was a culinary delight that exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re a seafood lover or prefer other options, the menu offers something for everyone, and the quality is second to none. I can’t say enough good things about this place. It was such a great experience that I’m already looking forward to coming back for the salmon power bowl! Highly recommended for anyone looking for exceptional service and outstanding cuisine.

I've always enjoyed coming here, even though I haven't had a chance to visit in several years, so the fairly negative overall star rating had me both perplexed and a little reticent on returning. So glad I went with the memories of past experiences, because everyone in our party had an amazing dinner experience! I had a mocha-like cocktail I was assuming would be hot (like a Hot Toddy or an Irish coffee) but was served chilled with a partially edible chocolate straw. Slightly disappointed but it was still fairly tasty. My boyfriend didn't get an appetizer of his own but shared a few Shrimp Kisses (cheese and shrimp wrapped in bacon) with his 10-year old son and I had their Lobster Bisque which was OUTSTANDING! Toby had his usual go-to, the ribeye steak, while both Logan and I had seafood delicacies—a humongous 12oz Australian lobster and stuffed (Crab Imperial) Salmon, respectively. The food and service was SPECTACULAR and the views were simply the icing on the cake! So glad this place was just how I remembered!

“Absolutely loved our experience! The calamari was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and tender inside. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and professional. The view added a wonderful touch, making the whole atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. Every detail was just right. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!

We celebrated a special occasion at this fine establishment a while back and loved everything about it. The food was perfectly cooked, with excellent seasoning, and it tasted great; everything was fantastic, including the desserts. The service was top-notch, and the ambiance was terrific. All aspects of the restaurant made our dining experience memorable.

Took my gf here and we had a lovely time overall. We went when it was not very busy and our service was super quick. We got Asian calamari which was really yummy and then for our mains we got the shrimp platter and a fried cod dish, sharing everything. It all tasted amazing and the tartar sauce was hitting. I would absolutely recommend this place to seafood lovers visiting the national harbor!

They have a great selection of steaks and Seafood. No bone-in steaks, but the ribeye was cooked to perfection. My berry mojito was excellent. Service was prompt and food came out fast.

Love! This! Place! I came for my birthday with my parents but I also LOVE their happy hour. As a pescatarian this spot is the best and I fave always loved the atmosphere no matter which location. Great go to for seafood and drinks! 🤗

My wife and I came to the location in National Harbor for our anniversary. We could walk from where we were staying and the menu hit all the bases. We had drinks at the bar first and the staff were pretty quick, they were friendly and the drinks were up to par. We then went to the restaurant and had a very attentive server. They placed a VIP card on our table. The food was great. The table had a clear view to the Potomac river with the Woodrow Wilson bridge in the background, along with the Alexandria skyline. It really was an amazing experience. We liked the place so much that we came back the next day for a drink before retiring to our hotel. It was surprising that the place wasn't packed, but it was a weekday. I hope they do well because we would certainly come back the next time we are in town.

Everything was excellent including fried oysters, grilled oysters, the broiled seafood platter. apple pie, and brown cake. Exceptional plating with the desserts. We had a glass of wine and red wine as well. Spot on service. We were given plenty of time to socialize. Prices as expected.

My family met there for Thanksgiving lunch, and had a great time. The shrimp kisses are divine!!! I had the Crab & Shrimp Stuffed Salmon which was absolutely delicious! I was not that impressed with their clam chowder, though. It was rather bland but salty. Maybe the chef was having an off day that day. My sister and brother-in-law both had their Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass and agreed that it was delicious as always. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience! I will definitely come back!

Dined here for Valentines Day. Although it was busy, we were seated quickly. The front staff were friendly and our server was great. I had the crab cake entree and it was delicious.

OK so me and my friend decided to stop in and have a quick lunch. I ordered the crab stuffed Salmon with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The only fault about this dish was it could the temperature could have been a little warmer. For my appetizer order, the crispy calamari. It was really crispy, really tasty, and once again the temperature could have been a little warmer. Our server Marco was an absolutely gem. I mean, he gave us suggestions on what we should order. Don't send me out there to order something that I may not like and have to send back to the kitchen. And I really appreciated his honesty. He was really polite and pleasant, and just seemed like he had a lot of knowledge about the menu. So all in all, the experience wasn't bad. It was just that the food could have just been a little warmer. And by the way, I will be going back. 😊 Came back, last Friday, June14, 2024 for a late lunch/early dinner. I LOVE Betty-Ann.... she was very sweet and so accommodating. The food was on point too!!!!

Only seafood restaurant at the harbor? Not sure. Great atmosphere and best view ever. Food and service was great. So good I joined their members club to accumulate points since i plan to be here several times. Above average prices but worth it in my opinion. Must visit. I RECOMMEND

This was our 2nd time dining here. We were here this time for our family Christmas eve meal party of 7. We made a reservation, so there was no wait. Atmosphere inside is nicely appointed. Enjoyed eating outside with views of the river before. Our server was pleasant and fairly helpful. Had to look for him for refills but all in all did a good job. The Shrimp Kisses appetizer is a must. Bacon & cheese wrapped shrimp. The main course food on the other hand, was disappointing for the price...The worst was the seafood fettuccine, VERY small pieces of shrimp & scallops with a jar tasting sauce. The portions of the broiled seafood was very small also. The steaks- filet & sirloin were the best part of the food we ordered. Well cooked, flavorful, decent portions. The swordfish seemed ok, but the side of greens took up most of the plate. The bread on the table was delicious, so there's that. I don't mind spending money on great food but not sure this met this standard. Would probably return for a lunch outside in the warmer months but not a formal dinner again.

Service was fantastic, we sat at the bar and the bartenders we're great. However, for this to be a steakhouse we ordered our steaks medium and the they were very underdone which is very surprising, the taste was good but you figure they would get the cook temps correct. This is too expensive to get wrong....

My husband and I dined here in celebration of Veterans Day. Their Veterans menu was very nice with plentiful entrees and upgrades in addition to the daily menu. The food was fantastic 😃👍🏽

We went for happy hour and the service from the bar was excellent!! Food left much to be desired. But overall it was decent for a happy hour menu. Calamari was the best thing, mussels were a little bland, looking for some flavor. Lettuce wraps looked like a chopped salad but they tasted very good. Bao Buns were lacking, nothing really in it. Tacos were loaded but the fish had a lot of batter.

Dragon’s kiss had a good balance and was good. Mussels was well flavored, oysters were good, and Steak Frites was okay. Fries were a little oily. Overall good experience.

This was my 2nd visit to M&S visiting the harbor. The food and quality of the dishes and drinks were excellent but there are some things that could improve upon. I believe the service should be worked upon throughout the staff. If you’re charging guests $50+ a meal you’d expect servers to have a smile on their face, regular check ins to ask how we’re doing, and frequent water refills. Food was good - stick to the seafood dishes though my steak was exceptionally chewy. Overall I’d still come back here a 3rd time but I hope management sees this.

We enjoyed dinner at this location, dining at their outdoor patio seemed like the perfect dinner after a long day at a conference. We both were a bit disappointed with our meals, I ordered a cup of their Maryland style soup (felt it was like a can of Campbell soup with a small lump of crab & old peas & potatoes). My husband enjoyed his crab cakes but said his asparagus looked nice and crisp but were flavorless & gooey like cutting rubber(?). My miso black cod was good but I didn’t care for the presentation of noodles (seemed ordinary). Overall it was expensive for what we felt was a regular meal.

D
Daryl P

Staff seemed to be more interested it talking and walking around then helping. You would ask for a refill and they would then walk off to help someone else and would be be back for a while. While we were present they only have 6 tables be served. Food, for the price you would expect better quality. Steak was not a good cut, lobster was dry and chewy, shrimp were dry and almost freezer burned. Crab cake had shell in it. Presentation was nice and atmosphere was good. Might just have been an off night.

Our waitress was super sweet and talkative, we loved her! The tables were well set with pretty lighting, and the chairs were very nice. There was a variety of appropriate silverwear and a cloth napkin. Unfortunately, they allowed people to wander the restaurant selling wares? We were approached by one of these people before we had even looked at our menus. Granted a similar situation had happened at another national harbor restraint. But that man at least had tact, and offered a suitable item for the occasion, whereas this just felt rude and totally out of place. (Light up flowers for Valentine's day vs. some low quality leather good for no apparent holiday.) Additionally, though I was excited to try my dishes, the fish and chowder were extremely salty. This may not be a problem for most, but it caused me to be unable to finish my food, which is a rarity for me. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the oysters, clams, and bread. The two non-alcoholic drinks we purchased were well designed, but very sweet. It was like drinking strawberry jam! Since we were celebrating a birthday, the waitress very kindly brought our table a mug cake with a heaping serving of ice cream. It was delicious. Overall, the service was exceptional, but the price is far too high for the quality of food, atmosphere, and table wear. Enjoyable, but disappointing.

K

Disappointing experience at McCormick & Schmick's. Prices were steep, and the food was mediocre at best. Calamari lacked flavor, lobster was plain, and the cream sauce on the shrimp and lobster tail was unappetizing. It's as if they have NO seasonings in thier kitchen.Lobster bisque was sweet and unpleasant. Only highlights were the asparagus and strawberry lemonade. Not worth the price tag.

My experience here was not great. It seemed that they were under staffed and the staff we encountered was underwhelming and/or inexperienced. We had a baby with us and was originally seated in a unaccomadating location, we needed a manager to approve relocating us. Once relocated, our server was polite but something was a bit off. I couldn't tell if it was a language barrier issue or he just struggled to hear us. It took over 20 minutes after being relocated to receive our drinks and appetizers, which the manager, not the server realized. The requested medium steak was brought medium rare twice! They just never got it right. The suggested spinach was sad. By the end of the dinner I had requested the manager who made the best attempt possible to rectify the experience. She was personable, understanding, took about $40 off the bill and gave my partner and I free dessert. The butter cake was the best thing I had the whole night. I appreciate Makayla (I believe it was the managers name) accountability and solution-oriented drive. I think we just experienced this establishment on a bad day.

Sandy C. M.

We were seated for over 20 minutes. It was not full, there were many empty tables. No one gave us water, bread, or even an acknowledgement of our presence. A total of 5 servers passed by. One, who I asked for water, never came back with it. Finally a nice waitress saw us and apologized for the wait. She asked if we wanted bread. Yes, and water! It took a while but we got bread and water at the same time. We put our orders in and thankfully, they didn't take as long with the food. The crab soup was very good and not as spicy as they claim. Oysters were tasty but not properly shucked. There were pieces of shell and didn't slurp off easily. It required some work on our part. The Sichuan ahi tuna was extremely salty. The salad was ok. Very small for the price. Would not come back here again.

My husband went yesterday for a gathering. The restaurant was clean. The placemats and glasses on the table were dirty. Our service was excellent! (I'm sorry I didn't get our servers name.) The food and drinks came out in a timely manner. I ordered the seafood alfredo! I was so disappointed!! The portion was decent; however, those little baby shrimps and baby scallops was an entire joke!!! (I know proper grammar! LOL!!) I was prepared to cut into a few large ahrimp and scallops.......very disappointed!!!

Dinned here on Sunday night. Saw a roach crawling and let the waitress know. She responded that they were aware of roach infestation and wasn’t much to be done about it. She even mentioned dead bugs in window seal. I instantly paid and left. To say that is disgraceful and disgusting is an understatement. Would never recommend such a dirty establishment. And I never leave reviews but this is completely unacceptable

J
Jeff Pinkston

The food was marginal at best. Bland piece of fish, mash potatoes had a crust on them from sitting under the heat lamp. We had a party of 23 split up on 2 tables. We were there for 2.5 hours before our meals were served. Then, they had the gall to add 18% to the check. Nope, I didn't give it to them. I would NEVER recommend anyone ever eat at this establishment. The fish at McDonald's is better than this place. If 0 stars were available, that's what I'd give. Oh, they knew we were coming with a large party. What a shame that they ruined our Easter brunch

A Truly Disappointing Experience We are visiting National Harbor for the first time and trying all the restaurants on the strip during our stay. Tonight, we dined at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steak, and it was the worst experience we've had in a long time, and we eat out a lot. First, the gentleman we met upon entering was very unfriendly. Once seated, receiving the wine we ordered took an excessively long time. For appetizers, my husband and I had lobster bisque and clam chowder. Unfortunately, the clam chowder was cold and tasted rancid. The main course was equally disappointing. My husband ordered the Crab Cake with mashed potatoes and lobster, while I had the stuffed Salmon with shrimp. You would expect real mashed potatoes for the price, but these were synthetic and tasted artificial. The best part about the meal was the presentation, sadly the taste did not match the appearance. To top it off, the ladies' room was very unkempt, and there was no toilet paper in the stalls. I would not recommend this location or ever eat here again.
