To start i had a salad, the dressing on the salad is the absolute best! And the drink selection and atmosphere was amazing, and such amazing quality food. On top of all that i had the best steak i’ve ever had. unbeatable!

Amazing food, super kind owner. Our Girls loved the rice, hummus was creamy and delicious pita sandwiches and chicken kabobs were amazing! Would come back, reminded us of Jordan.

My husband and I enjoyed a very pleasant dining experience for lunch at the Petra Restaurant. We chose dishes from the menu specializing in Middle Eastern cuisine. We look forward to returning in the future.

Everything is great and reliable, gyro platters , half chicken are my favorites, I do mostly take out but I ate there with my family once and it was calm and good inside to eat there. One of my favorite restaurants in town, great value, I strongly recommend this Mediterranean food

Wonderful, relaxing atmosphere and delicious food. Greek salad, Kefta-kebab and chicken were amazing. The baklava is to die for. Kids were happy, hubs was too. All in all, an amazing experience and we will return.

Best gyro sandwich ever. The meat was thick and succulent and not the thin dry stuff so commonly found. Falafel was also first rate. Very comfy and quite environment with lots of natural light.

Fabulous place. I live three hours away and I come to this restaurant every chance I get. This is an owner owned (family) business and they work extremely hard for perfection. I order the vegetarian platter and it has samples of all their delicious food

The service is friendly, well timed, and enjoyable. The atmosphere is warm with proper music, a fireplace, and excellent view. Absolutely enjoyable little restaurant and the lovely Pacific Grove.

Being from here I've always wanted to come to this restaurant finally and what a surprise. Simply elegant restaurant with a beautiful bay window that sits on Lighthouse Avenue. Petra's food is Mediterranean Greek / Turkish Delight which we chose the entrees a lamb sandwich and kabobs. Or appetizer was a hummus sampler tray which consisted of your baba ganoush, tzatziki and your original hummus following the pita bread. Everything was delicious the service was great. I must warn you though you will need more napkins and we'll take care of you.

Got some of all the appetizers, various kabobs on rice, and baklava. We brought half home for tomorrow. Turkish coffee excellent too. Nice venue. Excellent service. Ample parking. Nice to visit Pacific Grove and see nearby Lovers Point too.

My family really enjoyed our dinner at Petra! The food and service was fantastic. Our waitress was attentive and she carefully handled my daughter's food allergies. The Turkish coffee was delightful; the Greek salad was crisp with a variety of veggies and perfectly balanced housemade dressing; and our entries were prepared to order, well seasoned, and portioned well. My kids liked it so well we will surely return before leaving from Pacific Grove!

We ordered chicken gyros sandwich with fries, falafel and baklava. Food was good and fresh, though chicken in sandwich didn’t feel like traditional shawarma. Baklava great.

The cold appetizer veg grape leaf n 3 dips are very good, the meals not as great as the appetizer. The lamb shish kebab too bland and the gyros lam or chicken too dry and the lamb meat have smell... they need to add more server..

So this food is great! I did think it was over priced though. I wouldn't mind spending the money they're asking for if only they'd make their portions larger. That and I wish they'd make their own bread instead of using packaged peta bread. Overall though, I liked my good a lot but was still hungry and next time I'll just hit up a gryo place to get my Mediterranean fix.

More unfortunately the $29.99 combo platter was questionable on flavor and price. I gasp when I saw the smal platter of food arrive. There was only one skewer of chicken, skimpy on everything else also. The grape leaves were hard, tabouli was old and tasted like something had gone rotten, rice was also not fresh. The bread was the pita pocket from the grocery store. The flavor of the chicken was wonderful though they brought the wrong meat at first and it took a long time to bring the chicken. The tzatziki sauce was simply not. I was very disappointed. Rare for me to write a sour review, but crazy to me that Petra has such high ⭐. Additionally, one server for everyone, service was very slow.

I had the Falafel sandwich, and if you like your Greek food with very mild flavors, then this place is for you! I did see them making my Falafel sandwich, but I'm guessing they took the tzatziki or whatever "sauce" they were putting on my sandwich, put it on the pita, then wiped it off with a napkin, leaving just there barest hint of sauce and flavor. My sandwich was dry and bland. Which, when I think of Greek food, is the opposite of what I want.

I am half Lebanese and know quality Mediteranian food. Despite all the good reviews on this site I am sorry to say this experience does not compare. Very dry gyro meat, fatty, not well seasoned and chewy lamb kabobs, and mushy lamb grape leaves with practically no meat. My wife’s falafel was very dry as well. Yucky across the board. Maybe we had a bad chef day but we will not be back!

I just paid $80 for food warmed up in a microwave. The sad part is the food had actual flavor, would have been awesome if it was cooked fresh instead of re-heated. Waitress was very nice so at least the service was good. I had the split pea soup, which was overheated, and the charbroil chicken platter, with the chicken being dry and hard as a rock. My girl had the Petra combination platter with beef and the meat was rubbery… I don’t think I’ll go back if I’m ever in town again.

So the first time we ate there, we were impressed. We got the same oder tonight but to go: two gyro sandwiches. Mine was chicken, and I should have inspected it while I was there, because when I got home, the amount of chicken was half what I got when we ate in the restaurant. Half. It was barely enough for a 1/2 sandwich. My husband's order was fine, exactly what he got last time. I called the restaurant to complain and all they did was say it's supposed to be exactly three and a half ounces. I'm sorry, but I don't have a scale here, so I'm not gonna measure it. But by looking at it, you could see the meat was half the amount of my husband's sandwich. So did the chicken weigh heavier than the lamb and beef? Was it made of a heavy metal? I don't think so. And no I didn't take pictures, I should have. So my advice is never ever get takeout from them. Or better yet find another place. 20$ for half a sandwich. Such a great value. 😵
