Opinions de Go Sushi Japanese Restaurant Pacifica
This place is consistently yummy. The Sunset Strip roll and Ramen I tried today was perfect. Usually I do their Bento box with a Go Sushi roll or a Steak with brown rice, been coming here for 5 years or more and have not been disappointed.
Go Sushi is one of our favorite restaurants in Pacifica. While the wait can be longer than we would like sometimes, the food quality and packaging for take-away is always solid. The food is delicious. Additionally, Go Sushi is one of the few restaurants that consistently follows CDC guidelines for food prep. We've found too many other restaurants that violate mask and social distancing rules.
2021 and this place is still great. Perfect Tempura, great price on a 3 item Bento and their Ramen, Rolls and everything else is made with detail. I love their sushi chefs. They really care about your food.
Great value and very good selection. The service is always consistently good. The place needs a renovation, but still a great place for dinner.
Server didn't write down our order but got all three of our orders correct. 👏🏻 Sesame chicken special and the Lion King rolls were 😎👉🏻👉🏻💯. Hot tea is not served immediately so be sure to ask if you want it.
This place is a staple for me and my partner before going to the movies located next door. The staff is friendly and funny. The food is fantastic every time. It's not just a sushi place there are hot dishes too and a large selection of rolls. We always sit at the bar and watch the chefs make the sushi and because often in the evenings the dining room is full. It's worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood or on the way to the cinema.
Had a wonderful time with a large group eating here! The chicken katsu curry was delicious! Staff were polite and attentive!
I went to Go Sushi for dinner with my family and we had a great time. The restaurant is located in Eureka Square. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and fresh. We ordered some of their popular dishes, such as the sashimi combo, the red dragon roll, the phili roll, and the hamachi Kama. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. The sushi rolls were creative and satisfying. We also enjoyed the complimentary one roll that server brought it wrong to us . It was a wonderful dining experience and we will definitely come back again.
Came down to the beach for the day. Food was great, service was prompt and friendly, presentation was great, frosted mug for my beer, what more can you ask for at a strip mall restaurant. Pleasantly surprised, thank you go sushi.
This spot offers a wonderful selection of nigiri, sashimi, and creative rolls. Tried the Romeo & Juliet and Lion Queen rolls, both beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The agedashi tofu was perfectly crisp on the outside, silky inside, topped with delicate bonito shavings and served in a warm, not-too-sweet soyu broth, a comforting classic done right. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying, with thoughtful combinations that show real care in preparation
Had a wonderful time grabbing lunch here. We just happened to stumble here and it was great! Our server was fantastic, very attentive, and made us feel like we were getting a meal at a family members house. We had the curry, a dragon roll, and a California roll, they were all great! Thanks! We'll be back!
It took me a year to finally find a great sushi spot near Pacifica. My go to is a sushi party platter and it is always fresh, quickly made, and delicious! Staff is very helpful, doesn’t rush you and assists with finding the best option.
Came in on Friday for a late lunch and they hit it out of the park! We had the Nigiri Special with an Unagi Hand roll. It was the best Unagi Hand roll I’ve ever had! It he fish was perfectly prepared and fresh as could be. I will return as much as I’m able. THANK YOU!!!

took the family out and food was amazing . Doesn’t look like much on the outside of building but inside is nicely decorated. Had a bunch of vegetarian items as well. Friendly staff
Tempura Udon - proper temperature, excellent texture Udon noodles, simple and delicious broth. Tempura was 3 Sweet Shrimp, 2 sweet potato’s and 1 broccoli; all perfectly crispy panko. Yum! Definite value for the price.
Looking for something festive to share for a quiet Christmas Eve and suddenly thought can we get sushi delivered? Why, yes: yes we can! So we ordered online, it came, and it was awesome. We now have a new delivery tradition for next year. Thank you, thank you, thank you and happy holiday
The best sushi I ate ever. Incredibly delicious and fresh. Good service. The interior is very sparse and simple, in a very American style. But this didn't affect the pleasure and delight we received from the food.

I order from GrubHub. This place became my favorite the day I ordered the Beef Teriyaki Enteee and Sashimi. I've been ordering once a week ever since (it's been about a year). This place fluctuates, although lately it's been better more and worse less. Sometimes you get excellent food and others not so much. The not so much is definitely not worth the price. They raised their prices about three months ago, about 5$ up per each item. When the food is excellent quality, it's worth it. Delivery always takes a long time and the drivers often don't speak English. Tip them well and you'll get good service. Tip less than 20% and... you'll have a really good chance of the less than quality food. Give it a go! It can't hurt to try. :) I will definitely be missing this place when I move.
This Japanese restaurant, ran by Chinese staff, serves very authentic Japanese food. They used to have daily specials, but not anymore due to cost increases. Prices are reasonable, parking in the shopping center is ample and free.
We live a few block away and have ordered from this place many times, as well as eaten inside. Sushi is pretty good here! Sure, it's not SF quality, but I like it just fine, and it's better than even some SF restaurants. Occasionally we got fish that was kind of flavorless and cold. This happens maybe 1 out of 10 times we order. Pro tip: if you make a big order, ask them for a complimentary roll!
Great sushi but poor services. There was only one server for the whole restaurant, and we had to ask to get our water refilled.. we spent over $250 on these foods, but honestly think we could have gotten better if we spent that much. The place is a little run down and hidden in the corner behind a gated door.
Found the restaurant accidentally when shopping next door at Oceana Market. Never noticed before that there is a Japanese restaurant as the entrance is somehow hidden. But then I spontaneously ate there and I must say: the food and the service people were both excellent. Just the interior was a little bit old fashioned. But that was for me not important as it was clean. I definitely will eat there again. Prize was alright.
I wasn't sure about the chirashi bowl I ordered at first as it didn't look too special, however I was won over by the solid, fresh pieces of fish. The service is a bit slow, even when there are not many people around. On the upside, it is spacious, a nice place to enjoy a meal with friends or chill by yourself.

We came here twice on our 5 day trip here and the service was…interesting both times but I don’t think it was personal lol. We took to go both times and seeing the interior I don’t think we missed out on much. The rolls were a generous portion for a good price

Far too loud. I got two rolls. One was a tempura shrimp roll, and the other was a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll was at best at two out of five. The temporary role was the three.
If solely based on food, I would give it a 4.5. But the environment is so dirty and tired, it makes you question the cleanliness of the food prep area. Wallpaper is peeling all over, food splattered all over it, water stains on the ceiling and front door glass filthy. I hadn’t been in years and was sorry to see the decline. Also, an abrasive waitress, not the one who had taken the order and served the food, kept trying to rush us with the bill before we even had our last item served. And tried to argue that everything had been served. Did not leave a good impression.
I've been going here for a little over a year now and really enjoy it for their interesting sushi rolls. However, two nights ago I had some sashimi and got food poisoning. They recently started an all you can eat campaign, so maybe they have been leaving fish out too long because of it. I would not recommend raw fish for a little bit late at night (this was after 8pm).
Honestly, I'm disappointed to say that some of the reviews here were right. The place looks decent and definitely gets crowded. I was helped with my to go order pretty fast. What bothered me was the specials menu they have was hard to read. I was placing my order from the menu. I was ordering the teriyaki 12 oz. Ribeye entree. He tells me no, that's wrong. We only have 8 or 10 oz. It wasn't updated. So we ordered: 1. Pork gyoza - I do not recommend this. It's worse than the frozen one you'd make at home. 2. Crab cheese puff - Do NOT order this. Something about it first bite, even second bite, you just know you're going to regret it. It didn't taste fresh, and the filling was sour. 3. Shrimp tempura roll - I wanted to try their sushi and wanted to keep it simple. This sushi had lettuce in it. I'd like to think I'm somewhat of a sushi connoisseur, but this is an abomination. 4. 2 item bento - short rib and tempura. It was sad. Meat only 3 pieces were given. Tempura, nothing special. It's kind of soggy and lacked flavor. 5. 10 oz ribeye - This was good. This was the only thing I liked out of the order. Honestly, I feel like there's no reason to even wanna give it another try next time.
The sushi was pretty good but the service was not that great! Even when they weren't busy it didn't seem like the staff wanted to be there. Service was slow and they don't let you sit at the bar. What kind of sushi place won't let you sit at the bar?

I went there for take out last week. Since I had arrived at the restaurant straight from the gym, I had no cash and I paid with my credit card. I normally tip in cash in the glass jar near the counter. After I signed the receipt without leaving a tip since I intended on tipping with cash, I went into my coin purse and realized I didn’t bring cash with me. I figured I go there so often I would just leave a bigger tip next time. As I walked away, my son heard her call me a cheap lady. He turned to her and told her that wasn’t nice. Even though we enjoy the food, that experience alone makes me not want to return there. I thought the lady was rude and unprofessional.

I have gone there twice - once w my daughter and once by myself…both times around 7:40pm - both times they refused table service even though they don’t close until 8:30pm and there are people still sitting and getting food - very rude, don’t even try for the business (and I’m a big tipper) - Ocean fish sushi down the rd is much friendlier.
The sushi at this place is pretty good, but the rolls are often small, especially if you are ordering out. The prices seem to be higher than other sushi restaurants in Pacifica, with the quality and tastiness to be about average. The service is friendly, and there is a large big screen in the middle of the main seating area, but the decor seems dated and a little bit run down. I don't recommend eating here.
Kinda dissapointed. Wanted a spicy Ramen and they handed me chilli salt. The ramen tasted like top ramen and for what its worth the broth was hella watered down. I would say its filler food for the road. Could have just got something from the deli in the market next door not worth it.
The staples on the wall say it all. Super rude server but maybe she’s just having a bad day. Overall we were not impressed. Oh thank you for serving my child’s sprite into a beer glass. Just a really weird experience and kinda hilarious how little they try. The sushi is pretty good, just the service and wonderful ambience. If you want to eat here definitely take it to go and oh yea, don’t dare use the restroom.

Lowkey scammers, ordered two rolls online, got one and they were about to send me on my way so I checked it to confirm. Then they “fixed it” (they took half of the original roll back and replaced it with half of the second) I ended up getting like one roll for 20 bucks

Don't Go for the soup! We were in the area and hungry for lunch. Kid likes ramen, so Japanese seemed like a good idea. I should have read the reviews. Beef udon for the kid- apparently the beef was very tasty. Onions looked cooked but were raw. Kid was happy with the noodles, first time having udon. Said broth was ok. House soba for me- the pork that came was different than in the picture, but pretty good. Egg was over cooked. Cabbage was cut in oddly large pieces. Broth was basic. Not bad, but not very flavorful. I had the feeling that they hadn't cooked it long enough. But the noodles! The soba was mush. I could tell before I even took a bite. The noodles all lay together, in a clump, without enough structural integrity to keep any spaces in-between. They were too pale. When I lifted some for a bite half of them broke off with no effort. They tasted like water, as in they had soaked up too much water. I sent them back. 10 minutes later I got another bowl of soup. These noodles apparently had been cooked for 30 seconds less than the first. I was really hungry, we had been there at least 30 minutes by this point, the one server was busy and my kid had stopped eating, leaving half of the udon. So I ate the toppings and broth from the soba and finished the udon noodles. They were also somewhat over cooked. Nothing like the soba, but they had lost most of the texture that makes udon good. Then I tasted the broth they were in. I'm not sure what that was, but it was no soup broth I've ever tasted. It was vaguely beefy, but not right. I wish my kid hadn't eaten it, because I just don't know. I also ordered a chicken teriyaki to go for my husband. I shouldn't have, but this was before they gave me overcooked soba the second time. He said it was mediocre, with boring sauce that was just sweet, with no other flavor. He assumed we had gone to some cheap Japanese food to go place.
SHADY TIP PRACTICES. I actually like the food here but I cannot respect a place that includes a tip on the tab, THEN REQUESTS AN ADDITIONAL TIP ONCE THE CARD IS RAN. We eat out a lot, many times twice to three times a week, and this is the first place I’ve ever seen show a massive ADD TIP box following an already included tip on the tab. I’ll update my review once this is fixed.
Go Sushi was my in-law's "Go To" hometown sushi place. Although that was not necessarily a ringing endorsement given the lack of nearby competition, we had many enjoyable family gatherings there over the years preceding COVID19. But now, Go Sushi a tired, dark (due in part to the remodel) and dreary eatery that seemed neglected and possibly irresponsible. Unfortunately, I got sick twice (literally and figuratively bad sushi kind of sick) starting within 15 minutes of my one-hour drive home. Yikes. (Thank goodness for semi-autonomous driving technology and those two Costcos along 101.) Some businesses who survive COVID19 have yet to recapture the spirit and culinary focus that made them popular in their day. Let's hope they turn the corner.
I ordered salmon shioyaki and got overcooked salmon teriyaki instead with a long strand of hair stuck in the middle of the sauce. The middle of the potato croquettes I ordered was cold, it had to have been previously frozen. The poor quality of the food is just not worth the price.
Very disappointing lunch experience today. I have come here for years, and I had a rainbow dragon roll that was limp and frankly, less than fresh. I don't even know why I ate it, but a part of me couldn't believe that this place would serve less than perfect sushi. I don't see how I could go back.
The vegetable tempura was absolutely disgusting. There was way too much breading that was uncooked and salty and no dipping sauce was provided. I’m not sure what happened to Go Sushi, but it used to be really tasty!
Ordered out. The lady on the phone was super rude. Sounded annoyed when I tried to calrify she had written down the right order. She said it would take 20 minutes. It took almost 45 min total. It seemed like they started making it after I got there to pick it up. Overall food was good, but the service is horrible. I would come back if the service improves.
Rude Owner & staff demanding tips from Customers. No thank you
I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT. The service is HORRIBLE. So rude and unprofessional. I asked for forks for my kids meal and the lady named Sally at the register asked why did we need forks did we not know how to use chopstick. This was completely shocking to us.
I really like to support small businesses and family own restaurant's when I can. But this place is awful, I think it’s the worst sushi place I’ve ever had in the bay and I’ve been to a lot. After reading the reviews we were excited to try a new sushi place, but idk what the other people ate but it did not hold up, we got 3 rolls and a bento box, each plate was barely eatable, we couldn’t finish the bento box without feeling sick. Would stay far away, Safeway sushi tastes better than here :/
Great sushi really poor service. You have to get up and ask for help and nobody is here. One woman is very loud and seems to be more engaged with staff then customers This was my 2nd try and I’m out!!!
