Got orange chicken and fried rice, both were very good! And had good warm tea!

Flavors in every dish has its own unique taste the quality of ingredients on a scale of 1q10 definitely A 10 ,quantity plentiful, cleanliness 10, Service The Best I Guarantee you will enjoy the experience. I've been coming to Tam's for years and love their food. Mostly take out as I live a few blocks away. The couple that runs the place are super good people and care about the quality of the food. They make all their sauces (even the hot chili oil, which is excellent, they also make all their own sauces for the mains, not coming out of a jar or something - real Chinese chefs in the kitchen!). One of the things that I really care about is consistancy. And the food there is very consistent, using good ingredients. I know folks complain about prices (everywhere, all the time, whith good reason...), but, as we all know when we pay at Safeway etc, ingrediants, especially good ones (even rice) is expensive these days. They give very generous portions and it's a meal you can count on, time and time again. highly recommended, even after eating there for 20+ years! I'm about to order my usual take-out: Sizzeling rice soup, combo fried rice and pot stickers. It'll last me and my wife (who's a very picky eater) 2-3 meals. It's a deal in my opinion! Support your local restaurants! I have lots of friends that come from 1/2 moon bay or SF to get take out from here too.
This was some of the best Chinese food I've had. Everything was so delicious we barely had any leftovers to take home.
My girlfriend and I are traveling and just randomly picked this place. The food was great! The egg roll was probably the best I've ever had. The beef was very tender and juicy, and full of flavor. Also, the man at the front counter was very polite and pleasant in conversation. Next time we travel through we will be coming again
This place is my favorite. I never knew Chinese food could be so delicious until I ate at Tam's. Seriously high quality dishes with unique and balanced flavors. White linen table clothes and upscale atmosphere are spot on with the food, high quality! We usually order take out, which only takes about 15 minutes. Our neighborhood go-to for a good meal.
Tam’s is quite literally THE BEST Chinese food in the Bay Area and it’s here I P-Town! They offer an unusual variety of Chinese & Hong Kong style dishes that are hard to find and don’t sleep on their egg rolls. The customer service is great and the delivery is fast. Tam’s is very expensive but consider Tam’s Fine Dining for Chinese food. No other restaurant compares.
BY FAR the best Chinese Food I have ever had! Every dish is going to be delicious. They have high quality meat and huge portions. My go-to are always the Pot Stickers, Beef Broccoli Chow Fun, Sweet and Sour Chicken and Egg Rolls.
In this period of takeout service, Tam's Cuisine is a sure bet as far as I'm concerned. Ordered the Whole Peking Duck with 10 buns along with that ever delicious plum sauce. The Beef Chow Fun was a great 2nd entree. Service was quick and trouble-free. Alan, the owner, was friendly and welcoming!
A bit pricey but good. The Mongolian beef is always very tender and tasty. The potstickers seem homemade but I'm not really sure, they're also good sized. Possibly the best is the honey walnut prawns, they're always fried nicely without too much breading... But it's pretty hard to mess those up.
I have been honored to be a customer here for 11 years. Mr. Tam and his team consistently do a wonderful job. They make you feel like a member of the fsmily. Service is prompt, courteous, and friendly. The food is always excellent! !! Give me anything with shrimp here!!!!
Food is very good. We ordered the Fujian fried rice and spicy salt spare ribs. The rice had a lot of ingredients including Chinese sausage, scallops, shrimp, mushrooms and peas and carrots. The spare ribs were nice and crispy with the right amount of salt and jalapenos. Although the price was a bit expensive the portions were very big.
Chicken and veggies, Beef with broccoli, Egg Drop Soup, egg rolls.
Tam's is by far the best Chinese Restaurant in Pacifica.
Updating my review. We went today 12-3-23 and I am happy to say that the food is just as good. Very expensive but the food was good. The only notable thing was the interior is definitely outdated and could use a deep overhaul clean. The soy sauce, bottle and vinegar bottles etc were sticky, which means they haven't been cleaned properly in a while. Otherwise, totally great
I have been coming to Tam’s regularly for nearly 25 years, which is wild to say. Not only is the service impeccable every time, but the food quality and flavor is fresh and consistent. I absolutely love the sizzling rice soup, effigy has great texture, but also love the potstickers and braised bean curd. You really can’t go wrong!
Unassuming in a shopping plaza. Great food in lunch specials. Tons of food! Garlic chicken.
Hidden gem in Pacifica. Classic Chinese restaurant where the food surprisingly shines. Every dish we ordered was well seasoned. This place was worth the drive over from The City.
Always have a pleasant experience when I come here. The food is great. The prices may be a little higher, but it is great tasting quality food. My favorites here would have to be the orange chicken, the shrimp fried rice, and the wonton soup.
I had some Mongolian beef from here ideal location delicious food great service beautiful interior. Will definitely be back. They have a beautiful beach right next to them .

Judging from the customers here, this place appears to be a well established local restaurant. The food is good, with fine service and decor. The only thing is the dishes are slightly salty for my taste. The repeating customers seem to like it.
We went for dinner on Friday. Ordered vegetable fried rice and chow mein. Both were awesome! Really enjoyed! Owners were nice! Thanks
We found this great restaurant by accident. The egg flower soup was made with fresh ingredients and was delicious. The walnut shrimp was very flavorful, and the beef with black bean sauce was seasoned perfectly. A special shout out to our waiter, KEN! Thanks for the excellent service.
Everything we had was so very good but my favs were the Sweet & Sour Sole and Orange Beef. Delicious!!!
I always have to take my mom here when I visit. The food is always good, reasonable prices, never a disappointment. We love the egg rolls. We get extra to take home. The staff is nice, takes care of their customers. Well worth the visit.
"Peking spare ribs" specifically from Tam's is one of the most delicious foods I've ever tasted. A generous amount and quite an enjoyable eating experience. About $20 and well worth it.
Best Chinese food in the Bay area Worth the trip from San Francisco.
Best Chinese food I have ever been too! I’ve been eating here for over 25 years. The only negative is that it sets the bar too high for everyone else, leaving for disappointment a lot of the times. Thank you Tams

It was really nice! Family style setting, delicious food and good prices. I recommend this to anyone looking for good Chinese food.
Very solid and reliable if a bit pricy. Potstickers and Singapore style noodles are standouts.
I ordered to go, not sure about the service outside of them being courteous when I showed up. The Chow Mein was not good in the sense that it had no flavor and was super greasy (i got the mixed meat and shrimp one). The walnut prawns were delicious (although pretty expensive) and had a hint of orange that made them too die for. The beef and broccoli was also very good, tender beef and good flavor. There wasn't much MSG from what I could tell which was nice. I'll be back here, although i wish it was a bit less expensive.
Tam's has clearly been struggling with business issues. There have been price changes, menu changes and changes in portion sizes. But, the food served is always fresh, well prepared and flavorful. While prices are on the high end for Chinese food, this place is worth the cost.
Good atmosphere, attentive but a bit too serious staff. The food is still very good, but pricey, in fact, prices have increased while portions have gotten smaller. Carpets are clean, but are showing signs of wear. The golden Chinese letters in the dining room that once gave an impression of plush, luxury, is now blackened. Having been to Tam's many times when it was at its height, it is sad to see it today. The family has endured several hardship, yet they continue to serve the public. I keep waiting for a time when they can make a come back, when their fish tank was functional with fresh crab, fish, and lobster.
Ordered from here when we got the quarantine house in 2020. Orange chicken was good, as were the buffalo wings. Don’t get the egg rolls. They’re gigantic and very greasy.

Ive been here prior to covid and also i moved. It was my first time back in a while. The food was not as great as i remember they've changed the typeof noodle for chow mein it use to be amazing before. Again I've been here beforw never have they charged the tip without asking which is not ok but I was going to leave a dollar more in cash but since they made the decision for me oh well. Eggrolls are still amazing. Just a heads up its on a pricier scale than most Chinese restaurants.
We have liked this place so far , food is really good! I always get beef and broccoli when we order Chinese but this is the first time ordering it at this establishment. Very disappointing to pay $20 for a small serving that is mostly broccoli
No Rice? I ordered beef and broccoli had a nice chat with the owners and got home sans rice. What? I mean if it isn't included like every other Chinese place in the universe... then at least ASK me if I want to add it on... food ok, nothing to write home about. The building itself is exactly like being in China, from my experience. EXPENSIVE, especially with no Rice. Could be great... get it together people.

I actually liked this place a lot( before). I brought friends here recently, for some reason the service is not great, like other reviews say here. You try to be polite to get a happy attitude but everyone seems upset or depressed. I tried and tried and even with the extreme pricing, we still tried to deal with it because we liked it. This last time, the restrooms were pretty dirty..no one looks like they clean the toilets, especially deep clean...the rugs too. Unless you leave an excessive tip on top of high pricing, even when the waiter seems upset, you get dirty looks. I don't think I'll be back for some time. Someone recommended JuFu on Terra Nova instead insisting they don't rely on tips, because it's to go mostly and they are more pleasant to work with.
We had pork fried rice and honey chicken. The chicken was stringy and with grizzle and the pork in the fried rice had chunks of fat in with it. The dishes were prepared well but the quality of the meats were very poor. This combined with very high prices makes Tam’s get a generous two star rating.
Clean environment and very flavorful dishes (not sure if is loaded with MSG). However, the service is very poor. They are not flexible enough to offer noodles without chicken and wont even consider to check with the chef for any vegetarian options. This is not a difficult task for any business that depends a great deal on customers satisfaction. I wonder how compliant they would be to customer suggestions due to certain food allergies. After our meal, the waiter came to pick up the plates and i practically had to turn my head back otherwise he would had hit me on the face. I know the culture is not that acomodating but Tam's may want to consider that a friendly and respectful treatment to its customers would do better for its business. May you continue rising or falling~~~
I called in an order and asked if they are still doing a lunch special. They said yes, and then they pointed me to the website and I said I will take the most popular chicken dish. He said $20.88, I was confused, the website says $11.00, but hey I like supporting businesses in the neighborhood. When I go to pick it up, I say I'm picking up the chicken lunch special. He says "combo or rice"? I am once again confused as I see only one order to be picked up. "I say what is the difference? I am not too sure, I called in 10 minutes ago" Guy goes on to educate me on the difference and I say, oh you should probably update this on your website. He goes "no, its pretty clear". Like man, you pointed me to your out-of-date website in the first place. Typically I wouldn't be too concerned with a family owned businesses website, but he was the one that guided me there. It was one of the weirdest experiences. He was not mean, but just seemed stubborn and likely that he had worked on the website and took offense when I told him it needed updating. At the very least, update the pricing. For some folks picking up, I can see this being shocking upon payment. Foodwise; it was aggressively ok. Extremely expensive for a lunch special. The chicken was tender, fried rice was fine. No big complaints other than a lunch plate being very expensive.
I walk in, and a quarter of the dinning tables were covered with cardboard boxes and what looked like recycling. Weird, but ok. Then the waiter brought us some tea. But the teapot was rusty so I didn’t drink it. We then ordered our food. I shortly heard what I thought was someone clipping their nails. My family quickly agreed and then walked to the back to find THE WAITER CLIPPING HIS NAILS. He wasn’t in the kitchen, although who does that on the job?! Anywho, I still ended up eating the orange chicken with the lunch combo, it was a pretty big meal. We had finished and then had to ask for a check. There was an employee of his phone the entire time we were there. He literally didn’t do a thing 😅 I apologize for the length of this review. I was quite disappointed.
Expensive, with a menu meant to gouge you for wanting variety. The food is a little on the salty side so you might ask for low salt. As a pacifican you kind of are forced to eat around a menu sometimes. There is not a lot of choice in the area so a place like this is something you need to tackle like a minefield. Somethings are good, some things are bad. Here are some highlights. Soups are awesome. Sweet and sour dishes are safe. Mushu and egg fu Yong are yummy. Lots of good chicken and veggies dishes. Salty dishes are overly salted, you won't need soy sauce. Weird egg rolls and fried stuff. Small portions. Especially the yummiest stuff. I wouldn't call them off but there is another Chinese spot with better food a few blocks down. Even so. You might need to go to the sunset if you want Chinese chinese. This place would be way better if the saltiness could be handled.
Food is good. Orange Chicken could use some work. They force you to pay a 15% tip. Do NOT come here if you expect good service, where I would at least be okay with paying a tip. Atmosphere is relatively dead. No wonder the locals don’t come here on a Sunday afternoon.
I went there on 4/27/24, and ordered the Hong Kong dinner. It said on the menu it was about $37 dollars for 2, and then listed the extra food that came with it per person. I went in with a friend, so it was just 2 of us. In normal Chinese food restaurants, the $37 is the base price for a party of 2. We were charged TWICE for the HK dinner, instead of the base price, and with drinks it totaled to $89. $89 for 2 is absolutely absurd, this restaurant should be ashamed of themselves, this was sub par Chinese food, it should not be almost $100 for the food. Their egg rolls were disgusting, the Wonton Soup was weak, and they need to clean their building. All in all, DON'T GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY $100 FOR 2 PEOPLE. The server was fine, though.
Went there to have lunch with my family - was shocked that they do not accommodate for nobody or anything ! (beware if u have a food allergy - it’s all cooked together ! ) One of our party had a fish allergy and another can’t tolerate fried food - they were quite rude about answering their questions and wouldn’t even offer to TRY to accommodate them. Basically said ‘ so you’re not going to eat then ?’ as if that was their intention all along ! ( they have no issues eating out in any other Chinese restaurant in any other city !)
So I went to Tam's with high hopes of having a decent lunch. I ordered the lunch combination with Szechuan chicken. Basically its supposed to be a spicy stir fry. At first glance the lunch special is great. The chicken wings are solid and the egg roll was top class. When I got to the chicken I was shown that I had no understanding of Szechuan... Szechuan actually means "oblong shapes of rubber, add sauce." Not a single piece of "chicken breast" was edible. Even leaving the local seagulls hesitating to pick up my scraps. I don't suggest you eat here. Tam's charges the most and serves the least quality food in town. Thank you for the rubber!
Food is ok. Service is very poor. The waitress takes the plate from you while you have not even finished eating. Had to tell the waitress that I was still eating. The waiter didn't bring us any condiments. I had to grab it from another table.. Then he asked for mandatory service charge separate from the bill. There was flies around the table. The windows are dirty. Just not a good atmosphere and staff.
SCAM! SCAM! Avoid this restaurant. I’ve been ordering from this restaurant for a couple years now. The couple working behind the counter is super greedy now. I placed a takeout order over the phone and noticed the HUGE price difference so I proceeded to call them. I asked about the price difference and the guy started getting super aggressive. He said that the prices on the online website aren’t theirs. The website clearly includes the address and the name of the restaurant. I showed him the website and the screenshots and the couple would not even look. All they said was that the website isn’t theirs. So I asked them for the correct website but it CANNOT be FOUND anywhere online. THE OWNERS are the ONLY people who have it. I asked if the name and the address is correct but they just kept saying it’s not them. They have an online website with different prices and proceeds to scam customers by charging a different prices in store. They also would not update their menu on any social media platforms. Never ordering again. Will be reporting this restaurant!
