When I tell you this place has the best damn Mexican food I’ve ever had, boy do I mean it. Worth the money for sure! I’d have been willing to pay more. Roughly 20-25$ per person. Worth the drive, money, and time!

Starting the service by Leslie was top notch with spot-on recommdations. The queso with hamburger was a great start. The steak fajitas and pacifico dishes were fantastic. 100 percent worth the trip to experience. Highly recommend! Thanks for the best meal Leslie!!!

We had a huge group of people enjoy dinner here around 6:00 on 9/26. We had made reservations beforehand, so we were immediately seated upon arrival. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and extremely attentive. And we constantly needed refills of everything, and they never missed a beat. Wonderful service! The chips and salsas were fantastic, and they even had options to spice it up and try other flavors as well. And all of them were so good. The chips were especially fresh and crispy without being oily or too salty. The margaritas are also phenomenal. They are not just poured out of a premixed bottle, they are made with love, and you can taste it! For my entree, I ordered the “pollo bravo” which was bacon wrapped chicken stuffed with jalapeños. The chicken was juicy, the jalapeños gave it the perfect kick, and the bacon gave it the hints of smoke and saltiness that made me keep coming back for more. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a great time while eating delicious food.

Had a date night here. The receptionist looked like she was having a bad day, but our waitress was very chipper and kind, and very mindful and knowledgeable, about being Gluten-Free. I’ve eaten at El Toro in Palestine more times than I can count, and it’s become my go‑to spot for dinner after work. The chips and salsa come out fast and fresh every time, and the fajitas are always sizzling and full of flavor. What really keeps me coming back, though, is the service. Our server, Jennifer “MC” (that’s what her name tag says), is hands down one of the best servers I’ve ever had. She checks on us without hovering, keeps drinks topped off, and somehow remembers our usual order from a month ago. You can tell she actually enjoys taking care of people, and that makes the whole place feel welcoming. El Toro is lucky to have her on the team.

My family came in tonight (2-27-26) to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday. The food was great, but our server, Jamie, was exceptional! As a General Manager of a restaurant, I notice everything about my service and I can honestly say, there wasn’t anything else she could have done to make it any better. Our chips were never empty, and we eat a lot, our drinks never ran out, she made sure the table stayed pre-bussed, we never had to look for her because she was always there when we needed anything and she had the best attitude. I told her it was my son’s bday but that he did not want everyone clapping or singing, but she still went out of her way to do something special for him. I have to say, she is probably the BEST server I have ever had at any restaurant.

It's not brightly lit and quite comfortable feeling. It's clean, the service is great . We ordered our cocktail , good drinks. We got our food promptly and delicious . Even the chips were perfect, lol. We had a good time and our waitress was awesome. The chips were not thick and tough to chew . Went well with green and red sauce . The drinks were not watered down, potent. Being able to relax in a nice atmosphere with a great waitress . My wife and I will go again.

Love the food here and the portions are very generous! The chips and salsa is the best, and so fresh! The different sauces and the guac too! That’s what I keep wanting to come back for! They make their own tortillas, you can see it in the back, which is pretty cool, and if AC is too much, you can sit closer to the stove for some warmth! Would definitely come back!

Food was great, but there was some confusion about the menu/price. They offer veggie fajitas, but I’m skeptical of their”for 2” vs “for 1” options as we ordered both and received the same amount of food on each except the “for 2” is double the price. The only difference other than price was that you got an extra plate with guac and pico. They don’t seem to understand when you ask for 2 orders of fajitas “for 1”…so I’m pretty sure we paid for something we didn’t receive. They have an awesome off menu habanero salsa if you like spice and a random soft serve dispenser in the waiting area.

I used to eat at El Toros five years ago when I used to reside in Palestine. The food tastes exactly the same as it did back then. I do have to say that the prices have been raised. I ate an item from the lunch menu and I observed that most of the lunch entrees were 9 dollars or more. The only complaint that I have is lunch should be more affordable. Other than that.. El Toros has the best enchiladas in East Texas.

Been here twice for lunch, and 1 time for dinner. The lunch specials are a good portion. Dinner as well. I was with groups during lunch when both times they were busy and the wait was a bit long. Dinner, was the opposite, sitting at the bar, food came out muy rapido. The food is regular, old, Tex Mex, nothing exciting on the menu, but they are consistent with the quality. Also have two salsas for the complimentary chips. The Dinner did have what looks like in house made flour tortillas, and they are great! I had chicken fajitas, probably the best choice on the menu. Did i mention the free soft serve ice cream machine in the entrance?

Beans seemed watered down, rice wasn’t that good, grease poured, not dripped, but poured out of my tacos. I didn’t really care a lot about their chips and salsa. It tells you there aren’t a lot of options in Palestine. The house margarita was good.

I ordered the Medio polo Dorado. (For pick up). The menu i looked at on google the price was $16.39.plus a $2.00 up charge because it was a lunch item i had ordered as a dinner item. So the price $18.39 plus tax. When she brought me my food tlod the price of $22.and some change. Explained that not right total. She went inside came out with a menu and wanted to show me i said no what you need to do is honor the $16.39. she said are you sure you dont want me to show you again i said no. If you enjoy Mexican or Tex-Mex food, do yourself a favor and skip this place. The food was absolutely horrible and a complete waste of money.
