Enjoyed an excellent barbecue chicken pizza! It was Friday night so the whole area was extremely busy. I was happy to get a table here.

We have dined here periodically for years. The Red Berry Sangria just keeps pulling us back. And the food, while a chain, is solidly good and consistent. We usually eat in the bar area. If the weather is suitable, the doors slide open to the outside in the bar area. The bar area also has a few 2-person tables outside beyond the doors, if the doors are open. The service is a mixed bag. The last time we ate there on a Friday, the bartender was our server. We couldn't get water, napkins, or utensils from him to save our lives. We had to ask 2 or 3 times for all of those things. He was terrible! We would have probably had another round of drinks if he had asked at the right time. I was getting angry. I think he sensed it because he was suddenly aware of us and more attentive when it was time to give us the bill. I was surprised when my spouse gave him a big tip, more than 15%.

UPDATE: After my last review someone from CPK reached out and wanted to make things right. She sent us some more gift cards so we could try their food again. Well, today we tried their food and it was actually really good! We got the margarita pizza, cheese pizza, a shrimp dish and charcuterie salad. All of it was great! No complaints here. Thank you so much for the gift cards and we will be back there again☺️ We received a gift card from a friend and thank goodness we didn't have to pay out of our own pocket because the food was not good. It was salty and dry and just meh. For the prices you'd think the food would be bomb but it wasn't good at all. Needless to say I have no desire to go back

Food was pretty amazing. I had the half Thai crunch salad that comes with wanton noodles, cabbage and chicken with a nice light lime cilantro sauce. Also had the wild mushroom pizza which was grilled to perfection. Order it with the light crust only for a nice crispy and cheesy experience.

This place is hit and miss on the pace of service but the food is consistent with flavor and taste. They have a fairly good variety of both food and drinks. They offer both bar seating with TVs and dinning room which also has 1-2 TVs as well. The bathrooms consistently seem like they need to be cleaned and are quite small. It's a nice location on El Paseo and walkable to many stores.

Great restaurant with great staff. We tried several of appetizers and entrees and we were not disappointed. California Club pizza was delicious. Restaurant is busy and you have a nice view over the restaurant and through the huge windows.

The Location is good in El Paseo Palm Desert CA. The food was delish, the server was so so, inside the restaurant for me it looks untidy, the table we set on the chair is not wipe dirty lots of crumps. The good thing food is good comfort. We had an excellent choice of food. But the service wasn’t satisfied. But its ok anyway thank you for your service to everyone still grateful for their help. Hopefully they will improve their service and make clean the chair as well thank you.

We were excited to have lunch here again & it’s been a while since the last time. Craving for the Spinach & Artichoke Dip which I immediately ordered to start off our meal. Our server was great, very nice & was prompt in serving us but very disappointed with the dip & chips that led us here that day to begin with. Chips were not as much as they used to serve them. Worse, they weren’t even whole & were mostly in bits & pieces underneath the bigger broken ones on top. Literally having your fingers go into the dip just to get it partially covered. We sat near the window & the glass was smudged with something oily or greasy. I’m not sure what it was, I didn’t bother finding out. I couldn’t see it from where I was seated but my wife saw it from an angle across me. A closer look showed it was on the interior surface of the glass & not outside. Glad I didn’t sit close enough to it. To CPK, this is not to tear you down but to let you know that you’re slipping. Just do as you do always, if not better. But certainly not worse. We have reasons to comeback again & again & our kids enjoys what you serve but please don’t justify why we should no longer do. Don’t serve your paying customers what looked like was a left over or bottom part of the last bag of chips you had.

Unfortunately when ordering food without dairy, such as a burger, they could not get it right. No dairy looks like cheese covered fries and cheese covered burger only to be sorely disappointed having to wait for anything to be recooked. Not returning.

What kind of restaurant- corporate or not- blames the server for food taking freaking long. "I told the server to let customers know." What? That it'll take like an hour for 2 pizzas? "I told the server not to take out the pastas first." Why? So ppl can just sit, wait and get nothing for almost an hour? Yes, she explained the group exiting the bus after we sat and ordered had ordered AHEAD but the managers then can plan and MANAGE perhaps to organize better and NEVER blame the servers. Cmon..... who does that? Manager Jenna said group having arranged prior needs to be served and again, that she had instructed the server. My grandparents being on hold wasn't important at all.... General Manager Frank didn't make a peep. I'm sure he kicked himself for standing by the door when we were leaving. All the cliches are a little too late..... Thoroughly disappointed CPK. Jeez.... Shame on you Jenna and Frank. Lovely servers and hosts!

I normally love CPKs but this place was ridiculous…asked for simple accommodations for our orders: a little extra sauce because their pasta, salad AND pizza was very dry and was told by the manager Jenna they can not GIVE OUT EXTRA SAUCE because they weight their sauces every night…hard to believe this. Poor location bad customer service.

I’m extremely disappointed with the take-out service and, more importantly, the complete lack of follow-up from management. I drove 35 minutes out of my way to pick up a take-out order. Before leaving, I specifically asked the staff member at the counter to confirm that everything I ordered was in the bag. She said yes. I left with what I was told were four entrées and one drink. After driving 35 minutes back to the guest house we’re staying at, I discovered my daughter’s hamburger was missing. This is especially frustrating because the order was very simple: two salads, one pizza, and one hamburger. How do you not double-check an order that small before handing it off—especially after explicitly saying you did? What made this worse was the lack of accountability afterward. I had to follow up twice just to ask to speak with a manager, and I never heard back. The only response I received from the young staff girl was a casual apology and an offer to refund the burger. Meanwhile, my daughter didn’t have dinner, and I had to pay extra to order Uber Eats from another restaurant just so she could have dinner. We were all starving and had to deal with their mistake. Mind you, I was on hold for 10 mins and finally the girl came back on phone to say they will call me back... they never did. The worst part was the audacity to ask if I wanted a credit to use for another time. Absolutely not. Why would I return after this experience? I’m now forced to file a dispute with my credit card company to recover the money since management never called me back to refund my money. Mistakes happen, but poor follow-up, no management response, and zero effort to make things right are unacceptable. I would not recommend ordering take-out from here. If you plan to order take-out here, do not rely on staff when they say your order has been checked. Open the bag and verify everything yourself before leaving.

If I could give zero stars to CPK Palm Desert, I would. We entrusted this location with a massive $1,000 catering order placed at 3:00 PM for a 7:00 PM delivery the same day. They accepted the order and the money, but failed to deliver on every single promise. The level of incompetence here is staggering. First, they completely failed to deliver the food, forcing us to leave our own event to come pick it up. But the real disaster happened when we unpacked the order: they forgot the main course. The Salmon—the centerpiece of the entire meal—was missing. When we confronted management, the experience went from bad to insulting. Their first reaction was to lie and claim the Salmon "wasn't on the ticket." We had to force them to review the order, at which point they finally admitted their mistake. And their solution? A hollow, pathetic "I'm sorry." "I'm sorry" is a cop-out. "I'm sorry" doesn't feed my guests. "I'm sorry" is meaningless when you are unprofessional, unaccommodating, and incapable of fulfilling a simple transaction you were paid $1,000 to handle. Do not trust this management team with your money or your time. They are completely inept.

Walked in to celebrate my friend’s birthday and it was a ghost town so there was no wait for a table. There was absolutely nobody there aside from us and maybe one person at the bar. Our server was nice but inexperienced; we asked for the bread and butter and she told us that there was no more complimentary bread and didn’t offer anything else in lieu of. Asked about the menu’s free appetizer today if you signed up with the CPK app and she said that would take 24 hours to apply but why in the world would you put out false advertisement on the menu saying today then? I order an appetizer that came with two pieces of the “complimentary” bread which I found odd. Anyway, the check came and she pulled out a handheld POS and displayed it to me while standing there waiting for me to pay with no itemized list, just the total and tip option. I asked if I could see the itemized check before paying and she said no, only after I paid for it which was also really tacky, not to mention, her standing over me waiting for me to pay. The bill was over $100 so I’d appreciate being able to have the privacy of reviewing my check to make sure everything was correct and figuring out the tip. The whole experience was odd and unprofessional. This isn’t the first time I’ve had crappy service experience here. It makes sense why the restaurant across the street is packed and CPK is suffering. I never go out of my way to write reviews like this but I’m getting real tired of having to pay an obscene amount for food and crappy service that isn’t worth it.
