I thought that Cheers was the only bar where you could expect to be treated like “everyone knows your name..” but that’s not true. You can have the same experience here. Frequented by local residents, or the occasional traveler, this place has the classic “neighborhood bar” appeal, with a stroke of nautical theme mixed in. Whether it’s Josh, Ryan, Jake or even one of the owners, Chip around the bar, you’re guaranteed to get a great drink and a fun time. Prices are reasonable for New York City and the pours are average, if not slightly heavy. The music rotates based on whichever bartender’s phone is connected to the house sound.. but it’s always been a good blend. The food is also excellent. Wings are crisp and flavorful, but my favorite is the Chicken Bacon Jack sandwich. You can’t go wrong. Oh, and if you skip out on the Brownie ala mode dessert? Stop talking to me because we can’t be friends anymore. This is the best $5 you’ll ever spend. Trust me. And yes, they even warm the brownie up before smothering it in ice cream and whipped cream. Mmmm I’m getting drool on my cellphone screen just writing about it. If you haven’t been to Paddys.. it’s worth your time. Sit out on the deck, take in the views of the bridge and the water. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

We stopped by at Paddy's on the bay after my husband's appointment with his Navy post. Food and service was pretty good. We enjoy the atmosphere both inside and out. Definitely recommend Patty's On the Bay if you're in the area.

We visited Paddy's shike in New York for Fleet Week. Dressed in our whites, we were treated like royalty. Great atmosphere, good food and outstanding drinks. The bartender and servers went out of their way to take care of us.

We have been going to Paddys on the bay restaurant for a number of years . When you walk into the restaurant . They do take your temperature . They also ask you to sign in . Name and phone number . If you are looking for a real good burger Paddys is the place to go . They have a bar , and a dinning area. There are about 6 or more televisions going at one time . With the latest sports event going on . There is also music playing in the back round. It is a very lively place !! On the outside the also have a high deck with tables and chairs . It's really nice to be out there during a summers evening !! From there high deck you can see the Throgs Neck bridge . At night time it's a sight to see . Also with in walking distance of Paddys on the Bay . Is the Merchant Marine Academy. During the warmer weather we walk on its campus . Hundreds if not thousands cadets go to school there . To learn how to be come officers . How to work on and run a ship . They have a training ship at there dock . We went sailing with them about two summers ago. With a cookout the very same day . (( It was alot of fun !! ))

The food there was great the waitress was extremely friendly and from the area. If the day is nice I recommend sitting outside you'll have a beautiful view with a great meal.

Love this place haven't been there in awhile the chowder used to come in a cup or a bowl now they made it one size still delicious but they loaded it up with alot of potatoes tell me I'm wrong

A bar for locals with a great layout. There's a centrally located bar island and ample outdoor seating. A great place to grab a drink when in the neighborhood.

I feel personally guilty and disloyal posting this, but the burger I had was the worst I've had in years. I hate to post this, as I have been a loyal patron of paddy's for years since I went to school here, but the burger tasted and looked microwaved. I love the bar service, the bartenders, etc. Good drinks. Great Guinness pour. But that was a bad burger. I am sorry. Worst example of a pub burger.

An excellent place to grab amazing food, drinks and watching some sports on the monitor. Been going here every military drill weekend since 2007 and I'm never disappointed with the location. My favorite are the Buffalo Wings and the Grill Chicken Sandwich. Highly recommended if ever nearby this location just crossing the Throgs Neck Bridge.

A “go to” for gathering with friends or a lunch out with my daughters. If weather permits a nice outside seating area. It’s got an Irish pub ambiance, which I like. Friendly crowd with lots of laughter . The seating area has regular table tops and comfy booths , which we always take . The food was excellent! Fresh clams, great pasta , salads . Anything I ever ordered I enjoyed !

Great dive bar with an upscale feel. The server was very sweet and attentive. We had a great view of the Bay, and a glimpse of the Throgs Neck Bridge. Prices were fair. My sangria Pitcher hit the spot on a hot day.

Perfect neighborhood place to be close to the water for some drinks and food. On my last trip I shared fish tacos and shrimp, chicken , steak fajitas. The fajitas were amazing. Very fresh and flavorful. The tacos were made well just needed a little hot sauce for my liking. The beers are always freezing cold and the drinks are great. Definitely recommend

Portion was huge and quite heavy. Would come back because of the location. Almost feels like your out on the bay!

At the moment there isn't much I can say being that I've only been there twice. The first that another customer came out his face with me because while taking a selfie with my sister he thought I was recording his conversation which caused us to cut our visit short and the second time we waited about 15 minutes to be attended to and one of our orders were messed up, but honestly other than that I have to admit it is a bit pricey but the food is amazing I honestly don't mind paying the price and the drinks are beyond satisfying.

Cool location . Where my group say we had a mini view of the Throgs Necks Bridge . Food was very tasty. Has the chicken Fingers , 1/2 dozen Chan’s, onion rings Lamb Leg with mash and Brussel Sprouts, & Steak . All were very good but service kinda (did) suck . Everything pretty cheep . Bar was super lit and lively. 4 star .

This place is a bar first; the restaurant tables in the back are visually separate, though it is a noisy experience. That said, the food was really quite good. With the "on the bay" name, the menu does not have a lot of seafood, yet the daily specials menu did add some seafood options on the night I went. I had the Marinara Mussels appetizer and the Salmon dinner, both from the specials. There we a portion of mussels that could easily be shared with a table of guests. The Salmon was done near perfectly. Service was also good. I will be back.

Food is hit or miss at times, table service not the best, but one of the few places left where you can enjoy outside scenery while having drinks and being able to smoke freely. Only reason I go back.

I describe this place as a hang out for locals. As you can see from my picture it was around 6-7pm, the sun was almost gone and the temperature was I’d say around low 80’s maybe high 70’s. It was pretty comfortable for being mid July in the Bronx. I had the fish sandwich and so did one of our friend and she had the same complaint I had. The fish was too dry and the bun wasn’t toasted. We had oysters for appetizers and a few cocktails. I give it a 3 star just because of the location and how comfortable I felt while there i just feel like they should pay more attention to the small details that can make a difference.

Went on a sunday night & it was calm, which I liked. Our waitress was really nice. The outside seating and views of the bridge are also nice. The wings were really good. Pina Coloda was just ok, it needed more rum and more Pina Coloda Mix. The Guinness was not cold, it was room temp. Maybe they just put in a new keg. The wings + waitress made up for the drinks. I'll come back to grab wings & give the drinks another shot.

Draft beer is warm and flat. Specials during holidays like st paddy's are great. Burgers and fries are very good, patio is nice pub atmosphere.

Stopped in for a bite ... food was fine... server was great... however, l'm on the balcony eating my burger and these 2 dirtbags are smoking their Newports next to me... smoke and ash flowed onto me the entire time... needless to say, I scadoozled out of there... should be in a separate area

Good local bar. Good for a quick drink. Food really isn't great and not much of a beer selection. Good bar to stop by and have a quick drink on the deck in the spring or summertime but if your looking for a great bar go to one of the other boroughs. I highly recommend Brooklyn.

So to start the service was pretty good, we ate at the bar and the server was attentive and served us quickly. The food was eh.... So I had a steak sandwich and my friend had a menu special cuban sandwich. The steak was cooked ok, but not medium rare as I requested, the bread was a terrible choice of bread for a steak sandwich. The Cuban was not pressed and was also wh to ok at best. At least the fries were pretty good. The atmosphere was pretty nice for a local "regular" filled type of bar. If I lived in the area I would definitely come by for drinks often, but as far as eating there goes probably not.

The food service was good, but the bar drinks were bad. I couldn't sip the drink because the ice was too big to sip through the straw. It also tasted like there was no alcohol in the drinks. Get a new bartender 😔

If you want to sit outside on a summer night and enjoy a stunning view of the throggs neck bridge, this is the place for you. If you want good food and drinks, you may be very disappointed.

Seems like a nice place to get a drink and some food I was disappointed in the food and service here today Sat at a table for 10 minutes (outside dining only) No one showed up I had to go inside to the bar to get a waiter bartender was excellent She told.the waiter 3x before he showed up at the table I ordered my food and he dod not listen to the entire simple order But it was not a big deal Got my food Ordered a corned beef SANDWICH meat which was not tender at all. Tough to eat Did not want to send it back I was very hungry Not from the area so not a big deal If I am back in the area I would go back for a new adventure

Because stars must be added I selected one but this really deserves none. I was never even seated and the attitude of the waitress was the reason. Walked in asked to sit outdoors was told to give her a minute. She returned took care of her tables and started cleaning a small table which we told her we wanted the larger one because there were 4 of us. She said rudely, “well you have to wait!” Ok so we waited, and waited and waited but she just disappeared so we decided to leave after 10 mins of waiting because if you are a server a bit of politeness is expected since you have no idea who is walking into your place. Been here many times before and this was a first and may be the last. Places that deal with customers really need to train their employees better.

Let me just say, we were frequent patrons on Paddy Daughtry's before they unfortunately closed. Loved their food & atmosphere. We have come to Paddy's on the bay a lot and let me tell you, we went there today and it will be the very last time we ever go. We always thought the menu was a smaller and not as good food as the old paddy's, but today we had the displeasure of meeting their bar matron "Lenny" and all I can say is that women should not be serving anyone. She was completely unprofessional and left a horrible taste in our mouth. The word for a female dog comes to mind, but I am better then that. I can tell you that we will NEVER go back there, all because of the way she treated us. I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to go there either!
