Simply put, I Love Chicken Express💛😁. Fried Chicken like it should be cooked, just right. Chicken with the right amount of season, full of flavor, juicy not dry, battered just right w/season. Every bite as good as the last. Flavor through and through just like you like. *I have never had to worry about under cooked chicken or any under cooked foods. They work as a team and very well. It's a very clean establishment. They are very polite. The food prep and prep areas are also kept nice and clean, nothing sitting around uncovered. I give them an (A++) and higher. Their fresh hot buttery yeast rolls, & Sweet Tea are a meal in its own right, yum yum😋. Don't forget their fresh warm country homemade biscuits that taste like just the right amount buttermilk but not too much and the right amount of butter. Makes you think you're a kid again and all you need is a glass of milk. Their yeast rolls take you back to school in the cafeteria. School house yeast rolls. You smelled them all over the campus. Couldn't focus for that smell. The yeast rolls took me to school, and the biscuits brought me to the table for breakfast. Put some honey or syrup on that biscuit and don't forget the milk, good eating. Chicken Express will take you back. It's a great place, with great food, great service, great dinning atmosphere for a family or just for one. You can dine-in in the temperature controlled inside or sit outside at your choice of tables under the covered area. They will bring your order to you fresh and hot. Please try their Famous Sweet Tea, if able. It is sold by the Gallons, as well as, their fresh hot buttery yeast rolls by the dozens. They go great with any meal. Remember, they are a meal. I was heading home from a multi-state road trip, needing to visit a restroom and grab a bite to eat. That Chicken Express sign had angels sitting on it!!! Honestly, a week or two without the things we take for granted, and you really appreciate them when you return! This one was a perfect "welcome home" with chicken that was just right, a huge glass of tea, and the smokes that only exist when folks have their "Texas Friendly" turned up to 11.

The drive thru was well lit and fast despite being busy. The special on the window caught our eye, so we were ready to order as soon as we pulled to the speaker. The greeter immediately took our order and was friendly. The food was hot even after the drive home and tasted delicious. All of our order was complete including condiments and napkins. The price was perfect. Amazing rolls. We have gone twice in 2 weeks🙌🙂

We love this chicken express. We eat here every time we're in the area. The folks are always friendly and they've never let us down on delicious food. If you get the chance and are hungry for chicken or fish and the fixing stop on by! They'll treat you right!

We visited them today, just to pick up some chicken tenders (which were delicious). This was during a winter storm and they were as nice as possible and even offered a chicken tender for each of my Frenchies. Excellent service and food!

We stopped by on a trip through and although they were busy as one-armed paper-hanger, the service was amazing. The manager (Brandon?) was handling multiple roles and seemed to have a great rapport with team members who were willing to step up and do whatever it took. He even worked the register himself. There was a young (20-ish) African-American girl working her tail off doing just about everything with a smile on her face - I'd like to give her a specific shout-out, but I didn't catch her name.

I ordered a large family meal from here. Sat at a table to doom scroll while waiting for the chicken to be prepared. I could barely get my phone before it was ready. None of the chicken had the heat lamp dryness. It was all fresh and juicy. The cashier was very friendly as well.

Chicken Express really has the best chicken in town! Service is excellent. Employees are always so helpful. The last time I had gone inside, an employee named Leslie was so kind and very helpful!

Best place to eat and drink their delicious iced tea. Best in Paris at only 50 cents , all day long! Brandon, Chrissy and all the rest of the gang are super helpful and very polite. They always make us feel welcomed ! I recommend this restaurant!

It was really good! Which it normally is, but my one complaint was the ice! Where did their little bitty ice cubes go? So they only get 4 stars because the ice is worth a star!

Their chicken strips are great, but their dark meat, chicken peices are too greasy for me. HOWEVER, their fish is so much awesomeness, that I tell them all the time, "y'all should change the name to Fish Express."

Love it, I just wish the prices were lower. Better chicken and better value than most other brands -- to my taste buds. Unfortunately, my Dr. Has me cutting back on fried food.

Good and hot chicken and gravy. I was told the livers were good too. Clean restroom. Staff worked quickly to get meals out to the full restaurant.

Great service when it comes to large group orders. Always has it ready to go. Individual orders through drive way take a little longer than I would like. However, love their chicken tenders and rolls. Sweet tea is also delicious!

Chicken was really good. I did ask if the fried pickles we're spicy. He said they were original with no added spice. Wrong. Definitely had a kick added to them. Otherwise it was great and ill go back.

This place is great for take outs , never crowded ,and the food is soooo good its also a great place to bring a baseball team or small group of friends !

I’ve ordered from Chick.Ex three times so far. Enjoy the corn nuggets and okra, the regular flavor tenders with the gravy, and the two piece was good as well. The meals fill me up well each time, so I always have a tender or two leftover—taste good cold as well as fresh-hot.

I like the fried okra at chicken express. That's about it. I think the chicken is pretty bland. My daughter said her chicken had a lot of "tendons or something."

Ordered wings like I always have in the past, got all the way home and had boneless nuggets… Called back she said oh yeah we don’t sell those anymore. That would have been great information to have BEFORE I ordered and drove all the way back home.

Meh. As far as fast food chicken goes I guess it's passable. Manager has attitude and other employees seem to have idgaf attitude also. Probably won't repeat.

Food was good and order was right but extremely overpriced for what you’re getting. I got the family meal with 20 tenders and a side of macaroni. The container for the macaroni and the container for the gravy were the same size…. Needed a lot more macaroni for the whole family. Also when we asked for sauce they gave us two small containers. Two small containers of sauce for 20 tenders.

Good food and service. I normally stick with Tenders or Gizzards, and like all the sides they provide. Tea is super sweet, so usually go 1/2 & 1/2. Inside can feel a little dirty at times, but think it is just the style of booths and the grout in the tile. Hard to really get clean.

Although the food is fantastic, the service is sorely lacking. Apparently one cannot call in an order for pickup and have it ready in any reasonable amount of time. The cashier didn't ring up the order I called in until well after I arrived. The person who took the call didn't ring it up and was very rude. They placed my food on the countertop and turned away without a word to me. When I asked if it was mine they responded (over their shoulder) "yeah". I said "thank you, have a great day"... No response

I love their dinner rolls! Most of the time the good tastes fresh, but too many times, not so much. I guess it depends on what time of day you go there. Always get a two-piece breast and the leg with some okra it's usually always good.

Not sure why the chicken is so greasy nor why the chicken is pricey but I definitely love the sweet tea and can't beat the price of a large one $.50

The service was pretty good. I had to go back and ask for dipping sauce. The lady at the register acted annoyed that I didn't know what they had. I asked her if they had dipping sauce and she said "which one". I asked what they have, and she acted put out that she had to tell me. If you don't like dealing with the public, maybe you should fins another job.

The fried pickles were hot and fresh, but the chicken and french fries were both barely warm. A little disappointed because they open at 10:30 and we got there around 11 so there was no reason the food shouldn't be hot. The sweet tea is well worth it though, so good! The employees were nice and the service was fast!

Bailey was rude. Rushing our order. Not appreciative of customers. Maybe she should be retrained to do something where she doesn't have to deal with the public.

I ordered some food and the chicken was not fully cooked and when I took it back the manager was very rude and didn't want to replace it. Finally got it replaced and the cook offered to cook it longer.

If you like waiting an excessive amount of time in the drive-through, this is the place for you. My fiancée really wanted Chicken Express, so I reluctantly stayed. After 2 cars ahead of us left from being impatient, it still took 29 minutes. I could have watched a full episode of Seinfeld with commercials in that amount of time. Absolutely ridiculous! I understand things happen, but this has been a reoccurring theme. It would be a 1 star, but my fiancée enjoyed her food, so you get 2.

My food was fair not the freshest chicken strips and my buddy livers were so far from fresh they weren't fit for a dog but they did replace them but it was a 10 minute wait for fresh livers

This is the 3rd time we have stoped here thinking we will give it another shot! Drive through twice and walk in order to go. First time food was ice cold! Would have turned right back into the drive way but we were pulling a horse trailer. Next two times drive through ,order was incorrect and for got something both time and we had park and actually walk in and get them to fix it!

Waited 27 mins for chicken tenders. This is far longer than we would wait anyplace. Out of tenders? This is Chicken E! When finally received food, fries and poppers where completely cold with a cold smashed roll. Check mark for a no return.

Small tenders and you must ask for napkins, you get charged extra for using any kind of credit card,debit card or cash app ie Apple pay,....... They will not take $100.00 bill for $85.00 plus order. Must be $20.00. I gave up and used credit card.

Drove through this town and decide to grab food in the drive thru. I should have checked the box before I drove out, but it's still poor service not to include silverware. There were no condiments and no one asked if we would like any. I was okay with the express part of this chains name having a slow drive thru, but opening up the box and realizing you may have to eat Mac and cheese with your hands is extremely frustrating on a road trip.

EXPENSIVE!! We got the 25 piece strip family meal with two sides and it was over $55 with tax! Seriously? For chicken strips? We got Mac & cheese for the sides which tasted horrible. It was sour and smelled bad. The chicken strips are good though, so I give them that. We tossed the Mac & cheese. Just un-edible. Could have grilled steaks instead with the money.

The food was good as long we don’t get corona, considering the drive thru girl had her mask completely pulled down, and when I went inside for ranch I counted 6 employees with no masks or masks pulled down and/or noses out. Right next to their sign that says you have to wear a mask inside! Great example Chicken Express!!! Very unsafe.

I just got home from picking up a 20 PC tender with mashed potatoes and Mac & cheese. Oh my! The potatoes are dry and the Mac & cheese is AWFUL! Tastes like someone cooked it in vinegar, not water. Yuck! The chicken was fine and the rolls were yummy, as usual, but for $50, I expected better. Probably won't be back.

Sad to say but staff should use a lot more mannerisms when addressing customers and they should not speak with malicious intent when talking about each other. Even more so when the customers can hear. You lose good employees then you lose good customers. Love the GM and his wife but some staff could use some customer service skills & Common sense. 😞

Price too high. They charged me $14.92 for 4 chicken strips, 2 sides, and a 92 cent sweet tea. This is higher than any of the buffets here in town. I calculated a lower price but I couldn't get the order taker to understand. I will eat at a buffet before I pay that price again. It's also one of the slowest drivethrus in Paris. Nothing express about it

We have gone to two different locations. The French fries taste like they were cooked in old oil along with the chicken. I wasn't impressed with the chicken either. The tea was okay.

9:40 PM the drive through lights were off, originally I drove through sat for a moment and nobody said anything so I drove out of the drive through and parked to make sure I wasn't crazy because I know that closing hours are 10 pm. Once I verified that I went through again. Finally a young lady said she would take my order when I was ready. I informed her that the menu lights were off along with the drive through lights and I couldn't see the menu very well. I was met with silence as she waited for my order. I ordered the family 30 piece meal with macaroni and cheese, fries and mashed potatoes. I was told they would have my total at the window. Pulled around and was told my total was 71 something so I got some cash out, at which time the young man taking my money said 'Oh. If you're paying with cash the total is 68 dollars (and whatever change, he gave me the exact amount I just can't recall what it was)'. I certainly wasn't aware there was a difference for using a card but whatever. Got my food and left. Drove over 30 miles home to find that I was missing the family sized mashed potatoes. I should have sat in the line and checked my bag but I didn't, I was tired and ready to get home. 70.00 is a good amount of money to spend on food to not have all of it when you get to your destination. Plus, if they would be more concerned about customer service instead of closing maybe they would pay attention to the food they are sending out. For it to still be 20 minutes to closing time and lights are off to give the impression that they are closed is a problem.

I feel like places that I spend my money at should have a certain level of customer service and the employees should be screened, before hiring, for a modicum of decent experience in such. Dream wasn't a dream. I was told that the $51 that I spent wasn't enough to make me deserving of a cup, even though one of my purchases was a gallon of unsweet tea. And she didn't make the rejection polite either. She needs a lesson in manners. And professionalism. Jasmine was sweet but was scared to tell me the name of the employee with the nightmarish attitude. I'll get chicken elsewhere in future.

We live in Hugo and we drove to Chicken Express in Paris Texas which is about 30 minutes away. Don't believe them when they tell you everything is correct in the bag. We drove 30 minutes all the way home by the time we got home it was 8:30 I got kids that needs to eat go in the house to realize they messed up the order .. The kids ate the fries but thats not what was on our order they wanted the corn nuggets...

The 20 tender box was over $40 after tax and 3.5% credit card fee. This is what $40 looks like. The tenders were dried out, small and about equal parts chicken versus batter. Overall we were very dissatisfied. The one bright spot was the box of rolls. Everyone liked the rolls. Not sure we will return to this location.

Chicken livers were old and grossly overcooked. Had to throw them away because my dog wouldn't eat them. Fried fish was almost as bad. Half was inedible.

i used to go all the time...i went on labor day @ 6 pm..the fish i was served was cooked in the morning..when i asked her its not fresh?the lame excuse was its labor day so they were not busy..yesterday i went again and same thing..even there was customer arguing that tea is not good..for me it was more like unsweetened than sweet tea..all the management needs to visit chicken express in commerce tx to ask them how they make tea and fry fish...

My husband got food poison last night July 29th he is very sick The chicken was bad I got gizzards I did not get sick He feed our dog some she is sick also Both are throwing up he has had stomach cramps sweating diarrhea They said it can be up to 48 hrs I hope no one else is sick I done some back ground this is not first time for this issue They need to really clean and get rid of old Chicken This is awful he is that sick we will.never go back Again I hope no one else is sick

WARNING DON'T EAT HERE PLEASE! My family just got the Tuesdays specials and I was the only one whom ate, all I had was 2 legs and a thigh and 10 minutes after eating I've felt so bad I felt like I was gonna have to go to the doctor. It's 1:30 that I'm typing this but because I can't stop throwing up from eating this food and i can't sleep. I'VE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME UNTIL I ATE THEIR FOOD.

The chicken was undercooked and when I had called up there the women was rude and said chicken is timed it does not get undercooked yet my chicken was very pink and bloody,Chicken express very disappointed in the managing the manager tonight had an awful attitude and I the way she went outside to smoke twice having customers inside you may be a manger but you are to be working still theway you gave your kids free food didn’t even pay for it is wrong and the way you treated your employee was sad and I do not speaking to manager in the wig the atttiude was rude and unaccounted for really hope a food Spector comes through and goes over your kitchen

This is the first time I have ever complained about chicken express. In the past I’ve always been treated very well. But today the cashier rolled his eyes at me because I asked how big a family side was, twice, he never said thank you or come back. He seemed like I was bothering him with my order. On the ticket it said Host: Dree. I like coming here but I will not be treated like my business is not important

The tables and highchairs were disgusting, and then to top it off my chicken was not cooked all the way and blood poured out of it. The manager was not helpful at all. He did not care that I bit into bloody chicken

If I could give them a -10 I would. I travel through here quite a bit. I will not stop at any Chicken Express again. This one has bathrooms with a outside door then another door before that you actually go into the restaurant. So went a little further to Slim Chicken. Went inside and placed my order, then to the bathroom. Yes same state. The manager had a very smart attitude. Told me to go down to the gas station. Do not recommend this place at all.

The ONLY reason I am leaving one star is because it doesn't allow ZERO! Over the past year, my husband and I have given this place many chances at various days and times. Every single time we get food here, there is either raw chicken, fish, food is missing from the order. This review is not even about the price increase or the fact that we now have to pay their credit/debit fees to use a card for payment. It's about getting terrible service/ food every single time we eat from there. Today's fish dinner....the fish was raw and cold in the middle. The breading was still batter on the fish. Never again!

We went through the drive thru and ordered 2 4 piece tenders and we felt like they were rushing us through. When we get home, and go to eat, none of the food tastes right. The chicken taste like it was cooking in old grease and the mashed potatoes were spilled everywhere in my box. Mac and cheese is really watery. Probably won't be back.

I usually get CE at least once a week(my sweet husband gets for me). But for some reason the food is not like it was. Today Aug 20 2023(1:00) it was so salty and some of the pieces are tiny. And I have called twice and no one will answer the phone. The tea and rolls were good👍 Come on CE get back to the good stuff.

Much better visit. The drive through was busy. My food was good. Didn't get the honey I requested. The employee handling your order, needs to watch and try to help you get a grip on the box. Mishap didn't happen. Close but he did finally look and catch the box. Happy with the food.

The one star rating is due to pricing. They are the most expensive chicken I've ever seen anywhere. Church's 10-piece is around $14-$15 with tax, and currently running a $10.99 special. The same deal with Chicken Express is over $30 + tax. Stupid expensive pricing but, when you're the only game in town, I guess you can get away with it, but not with me. I can wait.

I ordered 2 pieces chicken breast and leg,got home and it was a thigh that had been laying all day so I tried several hours to call and the phone was evidently off the hook so I call next day and she said sorry I can’t do anything because you didn’t call yesterday🤷‍♀️but I tried. I think it’s sorry they charge for what you ask for then give what they want and the price is high to begin with. Sorry policy,I took a picture of my order and she still said she wouldn’t do anything

I’m so angry!!!! I ordered chicken tenders and a FAMILY corn nuggets cause I was doing other sides at home. Paid 50 bucks and change and didn’t even get enough corn nuggets for two people! Basically I paid 50 dollars for chicken. Never again and I will blast this place everywhere! Sick of it , always something. We don’t live in town so I couldn’t run up there and it’s probably a good thing!

We ate as much as we could. The fried pickles were definitely soggy and not crispy at all. I had to stop eating them because they were way too spicy. My husband had to stop eating them soon after me. Please tone down the spicy and turn up the crispy. We love eating the chicken and were craving friend pickles. I think we’ll have to pass up the pickles there next time unless the ingredient changes.
