If you're looking for an, on-mountain fine dining experience with great food and spectacular views, Lookout Cabin located on the Canyons side of Park City Mountain is the place to go. Recently, I went there with a friend for lunch and walked away wondering why I hadn't gone there before.. It's an intimate restaurant, and exudes charm as soon as you walk in. It's the only on-mountain full service restaurant on Park City Mountain with a full service bar. The bar seats about 12, so get there early if you want to sit at the bar. The inside dining room seats about 125, and the outside patio (weather permitting) seats about 100. The fare being offered by Chef Chris Durfee and his staff is excellent by any culinary standard and exceeds traditional mountain dining by leaps and bounds. Our meal started with a generous portion of fresh oysters on the half shell. We then had the Cloppini which consisted of mussels, calamari, shrimp, fennel in a saffron herb broth served with sourdough bread for dipping. Our next appetizer was the Braised Bison Short Rib Poutine which consists of pickled shishitos, Heber Valley hatch cheese curds, grilled scallions along with a demi glace and red wine. For our main course we had the Horseradish-Honey Glazed Salmon Salad and the Bolognese. The salmon salad, was absolutely delicious and the huckleberry vinaigrette dressing added the perfect touch. The bolognese included home made ricotta which was delicious. The portions were more than ample for each of us even though we shared them. For dessert we split the Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake. Being a native New Yorker, I am a tough critic on cheesecake, but this was among the best I've ever tasted. Lookout Cabin is open Thursday to Monday from 11:30 to 2:30 and reservations are required. I can honestly say that the food and service at Lookout Cabin is consistent with the best restaurants in Park City.

Stopped in here for lunch with friends while skiing Canyons. While the beverage menu was somewhat limited (they didn’t have any draft beer and half of the canned selections were sold out), the food menu was comprehensive enough and hit all of the standard mountain classics. We shared the fondue and poutine to start, and both were delicious. We then split the chili, daily soup special, and burger. The burger was great and the soups were spot on. The service was quick enough despite us being there during the lunch rush.

Make a reservation if you can, but plenty of folks walked in the day we went too. Food was delicious! Favorite spot on the mountain to dine. They even offered me Gluten-free bread for my fondue.

Five Stars!!! Best on mountain ski in /out restaurant at PCMR… Don’t miss the awesome burger/short-rib poutine/grilled salmon salad/bloody Mary’s. Love the food, the service, And the Views!!! Our favorite ski in ski out lunchtime spot in Park City/Canyons… don't miss it!

Ski in ski out. Nice view on mountains. Call them to make reservation is the best option.

This place is a must. The prices are high, but you get what you pay for, from the initial presentation, the exceptional taste, the open kitchen and the executive chef checking in on your satisfaction. It is on my repeat list. Go here so it can be on yours too.

Have to go to Lookout at least once during the season. Great cocktails and food! Wish they carried Dented Brick 🧱!

The pork velly was absolutely amazing as well as the fondue! Great appetizers and the entrees were just as delicious.

Great secluded location to host your wedding at. Loved the views of the mountains and the chilled air during the hot summer months.

The food and atmosphere were awesome. We attended in the summer for a company party.

Was not expecting an actual restaurant to be up here but the food is amazing. The Thai Pumpkin Curry was incredible. Definitely the best curry I've ever had. The fondue was also great and it wasn't too crowded even at lunch time.

Love this place! The Bloody Mary was the best! The bolognese was perfection, the service (Lori and Chef) was so good! Be sure to make a reservation as it filled up quick

Outstanding! One of the best blood orange margaritas the burger was huge and finally a place that knows how to do a great well Done burger without over cooking the sweet potatoe fries were addicting and siting in the deck with one of the most beautiful views was an incredible end to a great ski day We came a bit late for our reservation since the mountain was so big we got lost they were kind and welcoming got us drinks right away and let us hang until last call the manager Jeremy gave great advise for where to ski made sure we knew the way back. Thank you for great service food drinks and a view of a lifetime

We spoke the poutine and the bolognese. Both were delicious and extremely rich and washed down with the house hot toddy. Get any or all of those things and make sure you are prepared to ski it off afterward. Service was friendly and solid. It was a snowy day when we went so I can't speak to the view but I'm sure it's lovely as a bike to the food and service.

Best place to eat lunch on the mountain! We went here two days in a row for lunch (be sure to make a reservation!). Great atmosphere and all the food hits the spot after a morning of skiing. The cheese fondue is highly recommended as an appetizer. The Mac n’cheese is excellent, as is the wagyu burger, chicken panini, salmon salad, and chicken salad. For drinks: blood orange margarita is superb. Also try the snow globe and the insane coffee before hitting the slopes again.

I went here twice in one week for lunch because it was so good. First time I had the Wagyu Burger cooked rare, it was phenominal. Second time I had the Alpine Mac n Cheese, which was also very good; it's pretty heavy though so I may not recommend it if you still intend to ski more that day. The food was pricey but with the great location and great food, thats to be expected. Also, definitely get a reservation or you probably wont get in. It opens at 11:30am but you can call before that on the same day and someone should be available to accomodate you. Easy 5-star rating, best food on the mountain

Great food, definitely not your ordinary ski lodge. We had the Kobe burger, mac and cheese, and the chili. Every thing was delicious including the fries. It is expensive though.

Best deal in canyons resort. It's not cheap, but then again neither is anything you can get on the mountain. It's a better deal than red pine lodge any day. The only thing is you may need reservations on busy weeks.

Great place for lunch with good service and good food! Spencer and Misa were great and very attentive! Highly recommend!

I highly recommend sitting at the bar. The bartender, Shannon, is spectacular at making you feel welcome. Her selection of cocktails is truly unique.

Great bar tender, perfect burger, and great spirits. The best place to find your liquor. The others with only have beer, so come here for the best food and bar tender.

T

They don’t lie about the view, it’s beautiful. The food is overpriced as you’d expect but small quiet feel compared to most lodges.

W

Good food, awesome views, mediocre service. FYI they might like about the deck being reservation only, it isn't.

M

We had a 2.15 lunch booking. The service was friendly and the food was excellent. We were told after ordering our starters that we had 5 minutes until the bar closed. Our entrees were then delivered to our table before we had finished our starters. The bus boy even wanted to take my unfinished starter! The bill was placed on our table at the same time. We felt that we were being rushed and that if we were given a 2.15 lunch booking, that we should expect to have at least an hour to enjoy our meal. I did mention my concerns to our service waiter. He did speak to his manager and we were given a 10% discount.

Not much more $$$ than dining at Cloud 9 but so much better food and atmosphere. They like reservations but if you can't get through on open table still stop by and make your reservation in person. Service is attentive, views sweet and burgers juicy.

C

Nice atmosphere. The fondue appetizer was a big hit with are crew. Lots of vegetarian options. We will be back would like to use the deck in warmer weather.

R

They take reservations. Food was very good, but if you want a quick bite to eat while you are on the mountain I would suggest somewhere else, since most of the tables are reserved.

H

Unimpressive. Fries were meh. Service was slow and warm, portions gigantic, overall overly ambitious and not hitting any real high notes.

B
Beth Braswell

Menu is very limited right now but view is still great.

Other than the fact that this restaurant was conveniently on the slopes, it was pretty mediocre. I ordered the wagyu burger and would be surprised it if were actually different than a regular ol' beef patty. Service was lackluster too despite an uncrowded lunch hour. Space was cozy though. Plenty of places to drop gear and maneuver around. If price is not a concern, I suppose this place would be a fun stop mid-day for others.

- Ramen. Decent but no meat. Very strong ginger taste. - Salmon salad. Very good. - Expensive overall. Good ambience & staff.

Three stars only because I waited for 15-20 to be sat by host guy who was running around and was impossible (it seemed like he was busy doing busboy duties which probably should be handled by someone else) to catch just to be told they are done service food. No one pays attention at guests walking in. When I told them I’ve been waiting for a while and the host didn’t tell me they are done serving at all, they let me sit at the bar and it was a nice experience after. Food and the view are pretty amazing. So, may be make a reservation or come early to avoid missing out on a table.

Bartender in the bar area today was horrible. The drinks and food made up for it once we we’re seated. Caleb was a greater waiter.

M
Marina Buckley

First the positive: good views from an open deck; more options of upscale food, although it is just above the usual US ski lodge food quality. Check your credit card charges carefully. They posted extra on my bill. I tried to have the extra refunded but am unable to get in touch with anybody. Service was very slow and indifferent. Average diner would have been better. The price for that meal was 3 times our other lunches on the mountain. Totally not worth it.

I usually recommend this as one of the finer places to grab lunch on the mountain. Not after our experience the other day. We had reservations at noon and we arrived a few minutes early and they seated us immediately. Server came by within 5 minutes to get our order. It took over 20 minutes to get our drinks and another 20 before the appetizer got there after prodding the server a couple times. We did not get our entrees until after an hour of sitting there. A 2 hour lunch is not acceptable when skiing. So lookout cabin is now off my recommendation list. I got the 32 dollar Wagu burger that I have had in the past. It was not seasoned at all and very bland. The fondue was a good appetizer.

Underwhelming experience in general, some staff were great, others not so much. The ramen was terrible, the broth had no complexity and seemed to be about 75% soy sauce. Noodles were over done and mushy, marinated egg was bland and too salty. In this case the team at the Lookout Cabin should use the Vail network to connect with the team in Whistler. The Whistler ramen is leaps and bounds better and doesn't make you question your life choices for the rest of the day.

I usually love this place! Been coming here for years. I will be back next year to compare and see if these issues are just Covid problems! First, The place smells like sewage when you walk in. Second, the delicious variety menu has literally been shrunk down to a quarter of a page. Thirdly, the food is served on paper plates which is precisely why you come here! It’s supposed to be special....it’s supposed to be a fancier experience than Cloud Dine...but it’s not a special experience anymore. Lastly, smaller portions and same high prices, just killed the experience this year. I hope all these issues are just Covid excuses and they will get back to their normal high level experience next season!

The service was terrible. We were recomended to go there because we have heard that the food was delicious and finally it became a super bad experience. They make us wait when we arrived because the table was not ready. We were with kids, so, we couldn't pass to the bar and we have to wait in the host area. When we became seated we have to wait so so so much... and other people that came later getting their food before. We loose al our afternoon of skiing. The food was more or less ok, but it's not worthy at all. (Even the extra price).

C
Connor Henry

Terrible experience. Host could use a lesson in customer service. Too bad, great view. You are better off going somewhere else. The watress was great though!

Prepaid for a lunch reservation here a month ago. Due to poor snow conditions they haven’t opened up yet this year. Calling their number just rings 20 times am no way to leave a message. TOCK reservation system even sent a confirmation text and doesn’t seem to know they are closed. No contact at all from them and no refund has been issued either four days afterwards.

M
Michael Neimkin

Cancelled our reservation 1 hour prior to lunch, which ruined an entire days worth of planning. I’m sure the food is good if they actually honour the reservation...

S
Sam Malone

Without a doubt some of the worst service I have ever received. It took nearly 3 hours for us to complete our meal. When we were finally given a table after having a reservation the servers kept going to other tables that had been seated after us. We were not given menus, plates or water. The servers brought our drinks to the wrong table and we had to call them over. The food was mediocre and incredibly overpriced. The only redeeming quality of this restaurant is the view outside. Do yourself a favor and save your money. This place isn’t worth jack.
