Urban Plates in Pasadena, CA is an absolute win. The food was so good, especially the double cheeseburger—perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. And don’t even get me started on the parm fries…crispy, savory, and totally addictive. Everything came out fresh and well-prepared, which really shows the care they put into their food. Big shout-out to the manager, Ashley, who clearly runs the place from top to bottom with professionalism and heart. You can tell she takes pride in what she does—from the smooth operation to the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Great food, great leadership, and a great overall experience. I’ll definitely be back!

I just had the most wonderful meal at Urban Plates here in California, and I am officially a huge fan! It's so popular because they perfectly blend the convenience of fast-casual dining with the high quality and deliciousness you’d expect from a nice sit-down restaurant. I absolutely love that their entire philosophy revolves around scratch-made, locally sourced, and wholesome ingredients—you truly feel great about what you’re eating! I was so happy with my order; their famous platter meals are incredible because they let you choose your perfect combination of protein, delicious sides like the roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes, and their wonderful bread. Their large, colorful salads are also a huge draw and are always incredibly fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is bright, clean, and welcoming, and the service is always quick and friendly, making it a reliable and delightful choice for a healthy, satisfying, and genuinely delicious meal every single time!

The restaurant and atmosphere here in Pasadena is amazing. Amazing customer top to bottom as always. Natalie, the cashier was great with serving me and other customers in line. She was super helpful and polite. You can tell she’s a great employee and deserves a leadership position later on.

I love urban plates! The food was amazing and very filling. Love the portions and tasty as always! Brought a friend to check it out with me and he loved it too. The outside vibe was top notch: great music, atmosphere at night and lovely! Natalie was a great server and do a wonderful job. I loved my Mac and cheese and broccoli a lot. The chicken with chimichurri was good, but not amazing. Overall, I really dug it and will come back again!

My daughter has been eyeing this place for sometime. I decided to surprise her on Friday and we both came for lunch. It was a really good experience. They treated us really nice. There was a gentleman that came out with our food and every so often checked on us and how we were doing. Thank you for making our experience that much special. We enjoyed the ambience in doors. The food was so delicious and well put together. Would recommend to family and friends.

Finally made my way to Urban Plates!! Excited to see a great selection of plates, salads, sides and wines!!! Love that there is a big menu outside with pictures of the plates, I mean, don't we first eat with our eyes. Went here for a primas dinner night, it was pick and choose to create your own custom plate. Before you place your order they had samples of some delicious cookies at the counter. You first go to the register to place your order, seat yourself and then they bring your plate to your table. The food was good and nice size portions, the service was fast, especially love the casual setting and not feeling rushed to leave. The cake desserts looked incredible, but was so stuffed only had space for a nibble of the chocolate chip and cowgirl cookies which were huge, I'll save the rest for a midnight snack. LOL. There was a steady flow of customers dining in and there's plenty of seating to accommodate. I did noticed that there were A LOT of delivery orders constantly going out the door, I'm thinking it has to do with their Plates Pass program, which seems like a great option to take advantage of. Overall super satisfied with our first experience and will be back. Thanks Faith for the great service and being friendly!

So delicious! We had the chimichurri steak plate with Brussel sprouts and roasted carrots, and the surf and turf plate with roasted potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The potatoes were a 10+! Steak and Brussel sprouts also delicious!! It’s great quality food where you can tell it’s full of nutrients! We also got a flourless chocolate cake and an apple pie, both amazing!! And we bought chocolate chip cookies for later, which we heated in the oven for a couple minutes and they were so good!!! And I had an Arnold Palmer with their lemonade and iced tea agua frescas. The service was amazing, the lady who helped us at the front was so nice! And the ambiance is nice too. Definitely recommend this place.

I’ve been 2x now and enjoyed both meals very much! It’s a little pricey, but the quality makes up for that. The ambiance is modern rustic. There is a beautiful long fireplace lining the patio-great for an intimate lunch or dinner that seats many people and overlooks Lake Ave. The inside is open and airy with lots of seating. You grab your own napkins and utensils as well as your number. The tipping is a little odd since they ask for it when you pay, but there are technically no waiters, only bus boys. There is a wide variety of food that is fresh, tasty and healthy. I have a good appetite and I think the portions are great. The chicken club sandwich was wonderful and the bread tastes like it’s made in house. The salmon was perfectly cooked and tasty. Everything came out fairly quick and I was impressed that nothing was overdone or underdone. The iced mint green tea with honey was perfect. One of the best iced teas I’ve had. If you are trying to eat healthy but want to have a delicious meal and somewhere more upscale than say Chipotle, but still casual, this is a fantastic option. I highly recommend and will be back again!

Its a good restaurant where you can order good food with quality ingredients. We ordered the mediterranean chicken bowl, and Cobb salad. They were very good and tasty. However the Mediterranean chicken bowl had too many carbs (rice, hummus, and fried pita bread). I love that their food feels very comfy. Recommended.

In the two times that I’ve tried this spot, once with my best friend and another with my parents, it was impossible to not notice the spacious, nature-y ambiance. The large glass windows and doors welcomed a glow that washed over the all the decor, furniture and customers alike—perfect for casual lunch photos! Garrett took my order and recommended me the Chocolate Vanilla Layer Cake, which I’m about to try right now as I type up this review. He was very friendly. Anyhow, I indulged myself in the Hummingbird cake last time, and the walnut-y sweetness mixed perfectly with the apple(or pear?). I don’t usually like cake because it’s too often made too sweet, but the Hummingbird Cake melted perfectly in my mouth. If you come, I’d also recommend the Chimichurri Grass-fed Steak as an entree! The portions are huge here.

Second time here and I feel like my experience overall has been fine. The service has been great both times (Kevin was particularly helpful and informative at the register), but the food is very mediocre. Prices are reasonable, at least, and the atmosphere and vibe feels nice.

Had lunch here for the first time. I like the variety of veggie options, gluten free friendly selections, and customer service. Food arrived promptly. Ashley was friendly and helpful to us. 5 star for service, 3 for food because the food seems too heavy for the healthy options, way too much sauce and dressing for my preference compared to True Food Kitchen.

Tried Urban Plates in Pasadena for the first time. Amazing location 👌. Service was okay. Food was definitely delicious. Shrimp kabob had an excellent parmesean twist. It was succulent off the stick. Steak was okay; not spectacular but the chicken had exquisite taste. Outside seating is an experience in itself as there a fireside flare. Great job Pasadena.

I did an online order. Everything was prepared well (the chicken was a little overdone but still fine). Ordered the tenders, grilled tofu, fries, rice. The tenders again were a little overdone, a mix of sweet and savory and very large and overall didn't really enjoy them. They weren't nasty luckily but it often feels like sweet is overcompensating a lot more these days to make up for failures in creating excellent savory and it was just meh. The tofu was flat out nasty though something was just off about it. Sides were okay- inside of fries was mushier than I would have liked. It was expensive but to be expected in San Diego. Food delivery at this location is a joke. If you ask them how long it’s gonna take they won’t give you an answer and then they’ll disappear for several minutes every time I go there to pick up food it’s exactly the same. Routinely food, delivery companies stack orders meaning they will give us two or three orders from the same restaurant when I arrive. Only one order will be ready and it’ll be sitting on the counter getting cold while waiting for the other order. This has happened multiple times with this restaurant and all I get is shitty attitude from them. You would think since these app delivery companies have been around for 10+ years these restaurants would get their shit together. Instead, they blame it on the driver for being frustrated. It’s our job to pick up the food. Then we have to deal with insane traffic and insane people on the road to deliver the food. Your job should be to get the food out there immediately the delivery food is just as important as the customer ordering the food online, but they do not see it that way. They should take a lesson from sweet greens they need an expediter that just focuses on delivering to go food because they do a lot of to go food. They’re rude and hostile if you ask them any questions.

Ordered a family meal. The cost came to 60ish dollars. The portions are small for a family of 5. What's worse is they forgot the gravy for the mashed potatoes. Would not recommend getting a family meal here.
