Updated review: Our first visit since the lockdown, so we were eager to get stuffed and play a game or two. This time, though, the waiter advised playing after eating. On our first visit, the order took some time to arrive, but it's a slow food kind of place and none of us minded. This time, the food arrived in a surprisingly short time. We had the stinco (slow roasted pork shin) and sauerkraut with juniper berries, which was sublime. We also had the spiced red wine, which was fantastic. After dinner we all had artisanal liquors that came in the cutest little potion bottles. Then with the food finished we played a few rounds of Exploding Kittens, which was hilarious. Overall the whole visit was great, and I only have one warning: either order one set of fries for the group, or skip lunch to make space. We made the mistake of getting fries for each of us, and we were unable to eat even half before we got stuffed. And for fries this good, it's a tragedy having to throw some of them away. That aside, I highly recommend visiting this fine restaurant for an evening of food and fun.

Amazing medieval-style cozy place in center Pavia. Owners are really nice to people and they always strive to create a comfortable environment to spend your night along with friends or family. Excellent menu with originally named tasty dishes, a wide choice of beers and a massive variety of themed liquors properly fitting the tavern's atmosphere. On top of that you are entirely free to take one of the many society and table games the tavern has in stock to play all night long with your friends and enjoy an outstanding party time, whether you are an old-style game lover or an hardcore rpg player. Worth to visit even if you're into an easy dessert or a coffee. Just get to the tavern asap if you wanna have a good time. Mattia.

Very nice place located on a street near the Via Oberdan parking lot. It's convenient because there's parking available, and you don't have to worry about driving around aimlessly. The place is very unique, medieval in style, and they even have board games. The fries are fantastic, and so are the sauces. They also have special drinks and "different" desserts. I've tried some and liked them, others a little less. In any case, I would recommend this place; try it with friends.

We booked a reservation for 9:00 PM after seeing the cinema. We went in, and a very kind and friendly woman showed us to the second room (there are three). She immediately gave us a menu and told us that the kitchen was having some issues, but that everything would be fixed in about ten minutes. In the meantime, we ordered an apple cider and a red beer. As promised, about ten minutes later we were able to order. We ordered an appetizer to share: bruschetta with pancetta and two sandwiches with house sauces (an extra €3 for €1 each: barbecue sauce, mayo, and black garlic mayo). The bruschetta was delicious, as were the sandwiches, but we expected something more given the premise. I'll definitely be back to try the medieval dishes and games. They can be rented for a small deposit, and the selection is huge.

The food is good, but not spectacular; the sandwich prices are quite inflated for what you get. It's also worth noting that if you spend at least €5, you get to play their board games (all sticky) for free. We ordered a couple of tiramisus (they even told us they were the last two left) and they brought us two ladyfingers and some mascarpone to dip them in. Those two tiramisus they said were basically four ladyfingers and some mascarpone left over from the fridge. The atmosphere is, well, normal, except you're in a tavern. I don't think I'll be going back.

I liked the atmosphere—medieval-style with waiters dressed in medieval costumes—but the supposed highlight, the food, disappointed me. I have to admit: the burgers I make at home are better than the ones I've had here. I think the burger bun was homemade, but it tasted like store-bought; we weren't sold on it. The fries were good and crispy, but they were too few on the plate. Nothing to write home about; my boyfriend, who had the pulled pork, said he'd never had one with such dry meat. It's a shame; the place looked promising, and it's great that you can play games at the table, either with games you bring from home or with the ones available there, but the food didn't convince me. Maybe in the future I'll go there for a drink and a game, but without actually eating. We also didn't like the table service; the girl who served us was super rushed. We asked to keep a menu so we could look at it later, but she didn't leave it with us, and she definitely lost some extra orders. Then, when it came to dessert, she rushed me so much that I gave up on ordering even though I wanted something. In short, disappointed! You have to ask for cutlery if you want it (after waiting for someone to notice us despite repeated reminders) and napkins are handed out in dribs and drabs. So, service needs improvement!
