18th Amendment Kitchen & Cocktail Bar

I highly recommend this restaurant. Everything was perfect from the service of the staff, the imaginative cocktails created by Nick, to the amazing food. My wife and I spoke to the owner and heard all the stories of how our meals were selected for the menu. We had the fried green tomatoes (pictured), filet mignon, and the pork saltimboca. Do yourself a favor, make reservations and go to this gem of a restaurant.

Absolutely love this place. Cool speakeasy type atmosphere. Bartenders were excellent. They make a mean drink. The food is high class but it’s not stuffy. Make time for a night out here. We made our second visit and once again they crushed it! This is now one of my all time favorite places to eat. We made arrangements around eating here and it was a good choice. The staff is incredible. David was our server and made the night super enjoyable. Felt like we were dining at a friend’s house. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

Best meal we have had in a long time. We used to live in NYC and this place would do well there, so that is saying a lot. Excellent service. The fish was amazing (a Mahi Mahi special), beautiful wedge salad, and slow roasted chicken with a Chimichurri sauce. A fantastic Weis wine from Keuka Lake and a really yummy special margarita, plus live music by a pianist. A special place and locally owned and operated.

We had the chance to try out 18th Amendment for the first time this weekend. The food and drinks were great, and the bar atmosphere was lively. There are several unique cocktails crafted by Nick the bartender available with local FLX spirits or other well known labels. Fried green tomato and bean salad, and the tuna / avocado stack were a great start. The mains were perfectly cooked - a filet for me (with the best veg side ever), and the knife and fork burger for my wife. Dessert was a berry panna cotta and the perfect ending. We can't wait to visit again on our next visit to Penn Yan.

Delicious cocktails. Love the variety of the drinks and the original ideas. Very creative and inspired. The bartender Nicolas really takes pride in his drinks, and you can honestly tell immediately just from the first sip. If you are looking for not your average drink, you should definitely try this place out.

Truly can't say enough about how incredible this place is. Using fresh local ingredients, a cozy fun environment and the cocktails were out of this world good. The owner even took time to give me some tips of her own for creating simple syrups and how to mix certain drinks. We started with the fried green tomatoes and bean salad, then my wife got the "Pen" option for the night. Delicious Pork Sambuca with capers and perfectly season vegetables. I went with the "Water" option. Blackened shrimp and pumpkin gnocchi in a creole cream sauce with the perfect amount of warmth and kick. This was by far and away the best dining experience for our honeymoon. Every single time we're even remotely close to the area, we're coming back!!!

Had a Great experience! Drinks were interesting, may take a leap of faith on your part, Bacon washed old fashion, but you won't be disappointed. App... Crab was melody of flavors with a kick at the end and the entree "Pen" was perfectly done. The desert was vanilla panash (?) with fresh apples and Carmel finished off the meal. On top of it all our Server David was knowledgeable and attentive.

Best restaurant in Penn Yan. There was a time when that compliment didn't mean much, but the town has really upped its game recently, and there are several good restaurants to choose from. But 18th Amendment is the best with a world class chef, great cocktails, great service and great music. Try the meatloaf and the chicken.

I travel a lot and I often eat at different restaurants in different cities and they all feel the same - a few stand out. 18th Amendment is truly a gem. Rose, the owner, curates everything perfectly and she always has new dishes and drinks for her guests. My fiancée and I vacation in the finger lakes 4 or 5 times a year and we always make a point to eat at both 18th Amendment and its sister, Burnt Rose. This place is an experience! Very nice bar kept in perfect shape and conveniently located in downtown Penn Yan. Parking streetside complicated only on busier days. Numerous beers on tap. Clean bathrooms and historical décor related to the era of Prohibition. Friendly owner/operator. Free wi-fi.

The food was phenomenal and David, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel very confident about the safety of everything. We came back recently and stayed in Penn Yan specifically to come back here- and were fortunate enough to have David again who did not disappoint. Some of the highlights were the pen, the Moroccan beef, and fried green tomatoes with salmon. Service, food, ambience, and gluten free options/safety all 10/10.

I had a after dinner drink -which was made from bacon infused burbon-- 100% off the chart great. if you are in the area and wish to fine dine. call make the reservation .. thumps up - WE WILL BE BACK

My husband brought me here for my birthday dinner. My salmon was exceptional and my husband had the awesome meatloaf. The service was great. We loved the personal touch that our waiter, David, provided. It was our first time here and we will definitely be returning. We loved the quiet intimate setting!

This place is great. Atmosphere and service were excellent. The cadence of the dishes being brought to us was spot on. I ordered the surf & turf special for the night and the flavors were perfect and the food tasted fresh and clean. The steak & salmon were grilled to perfection and the crab cake had the perfect amount of acidity to cut through the richness of the dish. Highly recommend!

The food and the service was amazing. My fillet mignon was cooked perfectly. The drinks were delicious and were some of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while. They even made a card for us since it was our anniversary! This restaurant is very personable as it sits few tables in comparison to a place that will fit as many people as possible. This makes the service very attentive and the food delicious and patiently constructed. Penn Yan is lucky to have a restaurant like this

Our bartender was fabulous and sociable. Bar menu was great. We did not eat so we did not look at their dinner menu. I had the Lavender Smoke cocktail which had a cube of lavender ice. Prices are average for high end cocktails and drinks. Cleanliness is above par. Overall please try this place. You won’t be disappointed. We will def be back for our next wine trip and will be bringing more people.

Happy it’s now under new management; same who manage Burnt Rose Wine Bar next door. Much better experience! Attentive, professional and sober staff, delicious food & cocktails, and a nice vibe. I would give a 4.5 if I could. A five star experience for me would include an amuse-bouche and food slightly more refined. We had the smoked chicken and pan roasted potatoes with a chimichurri sauce. I would have liked a veggie on the plate too. Still a great experience. We will definitely return.

It was a celebration for my daughter turning 40. The restaurant and staff were great, Everyone really enjoyed their meals. If you're someone who cilantro tastes like soap, don't order the crab cakes, for some reason they make theirs with cilantro. So I couldn't eat my meal. Other than that everything was spectacular.
