On premises coffee roasting and a kick ass Steinway honky tonky piano. Drip coffee and espresso drinks offered.
Great coffee, friendly service. Bohemian casual. The coffee is roasted on the grounds.
Yum! Iced lattes- oat milk, whole milk. Very nice counter person. Roasting as I waited.
Always the best service, amazing selection and quality. Never been a better coffee shop!
Fast, comfortable. With a card, one can purchase a cup of coffee for .90. Best deal in town!
If there were 6 stars, I'd give them all! Excellent coffee and Edyth Piaf, how I missed that atmosfere!
Thank you for your great coffee, kind staff and nice place to sit.💛
Great roasted coffee, the smell is amazing if you like roasted beans.
Amazing staff and coffee. Great prices for great coffee- highly recommended
Easily one of the best Carmel lattes, I've ever had!
Coffee shop and roaster, relaxed atmosphere on a weekend morning with the usual cyclists in from their rides and the rest of the town stopping in to wake up. Cappuccino is very good.
Coffee is quality and some of the strongest. Atmosphere is cozy. Staff is helpful/friendly. Petaluma is lucky to have such great coffee.
It smells great in here. Often someone is tickling the ivory. Plenty of room and excellent coffee and tea selection. They blend their own teas.
Great place and friendly service. I go here any time I'm in petaluma. They have an amazing selection of both coffee and loose leaf tea. Go check them out!
Wonderful local coffee shop. Mango Mate tea and dark roast Italian blend beans... and much more! Friendly staff, too!
Great coffees and tea. Laid back atmosphere Quick and friendy folks Dollar coffee .good quality Coffee roasted on site.
Delicious London Fog, quiet comfortable workspaces with wifi, solid prices, friendly staff, good vibes. Definitely coming back any time I’m in town.
Amazing coffee that is roasted in house! They have a pretty large selection of coffee and tea, plus you get a free cup with each pound you purchase!
We stopped for a couple of iced mochas and they were delicious. The coffee is very good and the guy at the register was very friendly.
Absolutely fantastic selection of loose leaf tea (organic too!) with samples available and super nice employees to help pick the perfect flavor for you.
One of the best cappuccino's I've had in a long time. I actually taste more coffee than milk. Bravo.
This is my go-to coffee house when I'm in Petaluma. Very nice people, pleasant atmosphere, and excellent coffee! Nice to support local businesses!
This is the quintessential coffee house! Friendly service, great coffee. A comfortable place to relax and enjoy life.
Great service and delicious coffee! The barista even shared some wonderful travel tips with us, too!
Random stop-in on my road trip through California. The Americano I had was one of the best I've ever had. Some good beans!
Got my espresso Con panna yummmm
Love coming here in the mornings the team here is great they create a culture of ♥️ And unlike any coffee shop and being able to taste coffee from different parts of the world everyday is a treat
Great place! Delicious coffee and offers regular and gluten free treats
They have a wonderful selection of loose leaf teas, and are very helpful if you don't know what you are looking for. I think my favorite is the Ti Kuan Yin Oolong,
Best place anywhere to buy coffee and tea. Nice people, excellent customer service and huge variety of products.
A great place with great coffee and tea, just wish it was open later
The best neighborhood coffee shop this side of San Francisco where else can you get a cup a coffee for a dollar? And great atmosphere no where accept here
A lovely little coffee shop with a few food items and an excellent community feel. Do it. Go here.
My gf and I are really into the Rooster Roast, we live in Santa Rosa so we will get this by the pound and brew at home😋
Popped in here as we were passing through Petaluma...Amazing coffee!! Would definitely be regulars if we lived closer.
This has been my favorite coffee shop for well over a decade. They are extremely conscientious, only carry fair-trade coffee, and have a wonderful selection of loose-leaf teas. Shop local
Massive variety of fresh roasted coffee from all over the world, good selection of teas as well as coffee and tea accessories. They'll even sell you green coffee beans if you like roasting them yourself. Last time i was here there was a man playing the piano beautifully and they were roasting coffee, the whole place smelled amazing.
Every time I've come in here, I've been greeted with a smile and speedy service. These people are truly masters of coffee, and they work really hard to find the perfect blend for you. Also their $1 cup of coffee has helped me through many a rough morning! Ashley and Nick are probably my favorite people in Petaluma, so I can't recommend this place enough!
Funky and very warming, this local cafe has an amazing tea assortment and they roast their own coffee on the premises. Super nice staff, nice snacks and some sofas and easy chairs as well as outside seating. Lovely
This is far and away the best place to get bulk coffee in town. They're in the midst of a remodel, but I can't wait to finally enjoy a cup when it's ready! Great staff, great prices. Love this place!
I've been getting my coffee and tea for years at Petaluma Coffee & Tea. Whole bean, or brewed on site, always fresh, tasty, and served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. A comfortable atmosphere, a variety of coffee beans and teas to choose from. Good selection of brewing products and gift items.
One of the local coffee shops in Petaluma. While not my favorite in Sonoma county they are an excellent spot in Petaluma to sit back, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee OR tea.
I like this place. Funky, inviting. Coffee roaster right there. Wonderful aroma of coffee beans. One very good latte' with almond milk. Will definitely be back. The employees were super helpful.
What a delightful discovery! A friend invited me to meet for coffee and conversation and I followed my Google map to this wonderful, friendly and captivating place of quiet and respite on 2nd Street in West Petaluma. The coffee was delicious the service gracious and professional and the ambiance perfect for a meeting of friends. I highly recommend this experience.
Best roast bean selection in county, any of which can be had as a pour over, expansive tea selection. Excellent espresso drinks, well pulled americanos, priced fairly, and a large area to chill.
Great local coffee House with many different kinds of beans as well as a great variety of loose leaf tea. The atmosphere is nice and casual and the pricing for espresso beverages is on par.
This is a great local coffee shop. Great selection of teas and they roast their own coffee in an antique roaster that acts as the centerpiece in the shop. Laid back atmosphere and friendly, bohemian staff.
Love the tea selection. Lots of loose leaf to choose from. They're in glass jars to sniffing too. Husband brought his own mug and paid only $1 for a coffee. Can't beat that!
I've been coming here for about 2 years and I can't think of a better way to start the day. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, the variety of coffee and tea is vast, and the atmosphere is very cozy. Hands down the best coffee shop in town.
Good people. Great atmosphere. Comfy couches. They roast the coffee right in the middle of the room. And there's a great selection of teas as well. Love this place.
awesome local roaster, great beans for home coffee as well as making a ridiculously good mocha (salute to their barista), and generally friendly folks! if you're ever in petaluma and need some coffee, this should be your goto!
Good things can also happen during the SIP rules. Time opportunity to fix up and paint the main area and it looks very nice. In the meantime, the sales have been moved to the smaller area by the front door and its very well organized for sales and social distancing.
Passing thru town and saw a Non Starbucks on my navigation. Took the one block detur and was happy I did. Cool place with great coffee and tea. Very good cookie and marshmallow treat (yes I have a sweet tooth). Next time I pass thru there I will remember them.
Get my whole beans here, typically the day they are roasted! With them, I am pulling the best espresso shots (for lattes) of my life!
Cold brew was delicious
Best coffee! Best service every time. Love this business and love their coffee. When we retire and move away I shall have them mail me coffee.
Real coffee, real people. The service was friendly and welcoming. Coffee and pastries were very good. Clean atmosphere, good for a morning meeting, or reading the paper, with a nice cup of coffee.
Great coffee! As an Aussie in America this has the best coffee! Great baristas and the vibes are always high. They make a mean almond milk latte.
best kept secret for awesome espresso drinks. While so many restaurants use the beans from Petaluma Coffee & Tea, I recently discovered how great the espresso drinks are at this down to earth coffee house. Great people and wonderful cappuccinos. Thank Danny, Star, Gigi and the rest of the crew. its nice to find a place all about the coffee, without the it's all about the coffee attitude. So that means its actually all about the customer - very refreshing
Awesome old school roastery with a nice range of coffee. I had the medium roast of the day and it holds up to most of the snobby places I like for an incredibly reasonable price. Definitely worth a stop, especially if you are nostalgic for a college / small town coffee shop vibe
This place is so great! Great coffee and tea and great dessert selections including my favorite vegan cookies. They have wonderful, unique gift ideas for the holidays! I bought orange spice tea soaps, and beautiful packages of tea, and coffee that they package by hand. The prices are reasonable and everything is fair trade.
The very best coffee and Tea in the area. They roast an amazing variety of coffee from around the world at the location so it is super fresh. They make super espresso drinks and have cold brew coffee and ice tea for those hot summer days. They have free WiFi and very comfortable seating. Parking is in their lot or on the street. The friendly staff is a pleasure to meat. I am sure you will love this place and they even still have a regular cup of coffee for one dollar!!
I do not know how else to write this. Amazing crew, great coffee and tea. I really like this place.....But the restroom is outside in the cold in a portojohn. Coffee makes many people go (if you catch the drift-like I currently am). Having to go in the cold, windy and smelly john is not good.
Awesome little coffee and tea shop with cozy down to earth vibes and a great selection of tea and coffee. The oat milk latte was awesome. Freshly roasted and fair prices. They also have a small selection of breakfast and lunch items. Indoor and outdoor seating.
They have a lot of tea and coffee options. We went in to grab some tea and were wowed by the selection of loose-leaf tea they had on the wall. The staff was very knowledgeable about every tea we asked about. We didn't have coffee but in my estimate they had a dozen plus coffee bean options. If I lived in the area this would be my go to coffee/tea/breakfast burrito spot. Really enjoyed the space. Thank you
We wanted to try a local coffee shop and let me just say WOW! Price was amazing $11 for two coffee and we got big sizes. The coffee smells hits you as the door open and its such a calm vibe. Service was great and barista knows what they are doing. Loved that this was part of our day trip in Pentaluma. 10/10
✨✨✨✨✨ We walk over to Petaluma Coffee & Tea all the time, and it’s easily one of our favorite spots in town. My daughter loves their pastries…they’re honestly the best I’ve ever had. Their coffee is amazing but I always order the iced roasted matcha (already unique and amazing) but the barista added a little hazelnut today and it was 10/10. The staff is always so friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect. You can bring your laptop and actually get some work done, meet up with friends, or stop by with your little ones. Highly recommend!
Best coffee in Marin. We’ve tried them all and this one is it. Great vibes inside. Outdoor seating. Friendly people.
Excellent Oat Milk Latte, smooth Chai with a balance of spice and full complex flavor. Comfortable and chic, why we love coffee shops. Will be back to pick up some tea for home.
Easily the best coffee I’ve had here. The latte in this photo reminded me of a piazza coffee in Rome. I have to come back more regularly for coffee now. The last time I tried one of their espresso coffees was four years ago, when the cappuccino I ordered had all the flavor of being strained through carbonized dirt that had been hydraulically tamped into a cheesemaker’s end-day sock. Whatever changed in four years is worth every day of the wait. Drink coffee like this! Addendum: Returned 3/5 for a rematch. Coffee even better this time.
This little coffee shop, tucked off one of the streets near downtown Petaluma, is wrapped in the smells of roasted coffee beans and fragrant sweet desserts and lively with sounds of chatter that is soft enough to still be able to complete your work. The iced chai and sticky bun are perfect for a break from walking around the area! Great spot for picking up bags of whole bean or ground coffee as well, from various parts of the world.
Best coffee shop in Petaluma. The staff is very calm, relaxed, and ready to brew. Place smells like grandma's breakfast cooking, which everyone knows, is a win win.
TL;DR Go—at once! A staple in town for years, this place always seems to be outdoing itself. Such a cozy vibe here. Just outstanding coffee, and the team here is lovely as well. (Thank you again, Ashley!)

Very nice place to go and relax. The aroma of different fragrances of coffee is to die for. You go out of there smelling like a coffee bean. The people there are friendly and knowledgeable. You have a question: They have the answer……Most importantly to me is that they are Veteran Friendly. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk in the door. The seating there is comfortable. Can sometimes get a bit crowded at times. They move really quick though. Most of all in general……It’s a great place to grab a cup of “JOE” and relax and talk with friends and others. I’m going back more often.
The pour overs here are incredible! Great prices, selections of incredible coffees, and fun service/vibe is a winning combo.
Such a cute place! The coffee was amazing. I had a latte and it was delicious. The other people with me all had iced mochas which they also really enjoyed and said were “just the right amount of sweetness.” The barista was knowledgeable about milk alternatives when they requested something other whole milk.
A bit of a coffee snob. The same roaster for over 30 years. Coffee beans sourced from ALL over the world. Purchase special coffee beverages plus seasonal additions. Whole or ground beans to your specifications. These baristas are on the same level as the best in Italy and beyond. The staff is over the top welcoming. Impressive knowledge of customers names and their favorite brew. A chill lay back informal coffee house. The atmosphere is more like a comfy industrial open space with eclectic seating and the centerpiece is a work of art San Francisco roasting machine There are umbrellas outside and tables and chairs. Nestled between a true slice of historic Petaluma. The Petaluma river is a block over and the other side of the street houses a "real" grain, hay and feed business for local livestock.
always have great coffee here. i love their seasonal blends that they come out with. never had a bad experience here and the staff are super friendly.
Nice people, great coffee, cozy vibes, delicious pastries
Stopped here on a road trip just to get a quick iced tea, and i was blown away, It was one of the most fragrant and tastiest teas I've had. After finishing, I instantly went to buy it in loose leaf as well. Cool vibe inside too 👍 would recommend
Great place to hang, work, or vibe on your own. The coffee is great! The people are awesome and nice. I was able to use my own coffee and water container instead of using single use paper coffee cups. Which is a plus for me. The parking is tough, but if you live close by and have a bike, use it and come down and experience the good vibes at Ptown Coffee and Tea Co.
I’m really enjoying the Sumatra French Roast at Petaluma Coffee & Tea Co. Bold flavor, smooth finish, and those dark chocolate + hazelnut notes really come through. Great option for full-bodied dark roast coffee lovers.

Popped in for a coffee when passing through Petaluma. Received a warm welcome and the place seems homely and friendly. Good coffee, a small selection of pastries, but no sandwiches or savouries.
Cute cafe, great coffee, but not a good place to work. Even when it's empty, it's very loud.
They have an actual roaster here, called the old San Franciscan. I think it must date back from the early nineteen-hundreds and I love to watch them roast coffee. When you walk in this place you get hit with an instant coffee aroma which I absolutely love. Places like this are pretty hard to find
Nice space for enjoying your drink and/or snack. Comfy couches or tables. Friendly staff. They put plenty of whipped cream on my son's hot chocolate, which we all know is of utmost importance.
A little bit on the pricey side (I wish they didn't charge for non-dairy milk) but very tasty coffee, some of the best in Marin/Sonoma. They need to up their game on the pastries though. Edit 2024: their prices are now on par with the competition but the coffee quality has dropped a bit. It used to be my favorite place in the bay area, it's still a good coffee place but not in my top 3.
I don't like all of their roasts, however they have some really lovely blends. They're whiskey and wine barrel coffee is definitely a treat as it provides flavors you wouldn't normally find. The coffee Baristas are very knowledgeable, and they make really good coffee. All in all this is one of my favorite establishments, and worth the trip from Santa Rosa.
Nice hometown, and NOT corporate, coffee spot. Plenty of bean choices to be had, and they roast their own beans as well. Tried the medium Sumatra French roast drip coffee, neat, to get a sense of it. Good stuff. As it should be, support local.

Beans 5/5 Espresso 1/5 Total score 3/5 Asked for an iced cortado, got an iced latte, asked for espresso over ice and to add the milk myself. Found out why they want to drench their espresso in milk. Overextracted and bitter. No flavor, just the taste of burnt coffee.
Decent coffee, good atmosphere, but no bathroom!!! This is a coffee shop you can’t serve coffee and not have a decent restroom. There is a port a potty out in the back but pretty unpleasant bathroom experience.
Petaluma Tea & Co is a cute spot in a nice location, but parking is limited. There is some street parking, though depending on the time of day it can be hard to find. I ordered the banana iced latte. It was okay, but had a chemical aftertaste despite being listed as “fresh banana syrup.” My wife ordered a London Fog Latte, which took a very long time to arrive and was unfortunately so watered down that she could not drink it. That ended up being a wasted $6. This was our first visit, and while the shop has potential, the drinks were disappointing. Based on this experience, I can only give three stars. Hopefully others have better luck.

Meh. Coffee might be great but one will never know with out proper technique. If you aren’t weighing the coffee and the water going into a pour over you might as well just do away with it and make batch brew.
The chai tea latte wasn't that great, the restrooms were a really dirty portable out back, and the WiFi didn't work. Cute place, though! Maybe once the restrooms are back in order, I'll come back during the weekend to try their coffee.
The coffee is excellent and well priced, the decor is perfect. Two star rating because the hours are anemic. I love to hang out in coffee shops but work a regular job during the week so am not able to go to Petaluma Coffee & Tea Co. much. It's not open at night and open a total of four hours on the weekend. What the heck? Very disappointed.
Good coffee - no complaints there! But an outhouse for a restroom at a coffee shop? Nope, not returning here anytime soon.
Buckle-up, I wrote a lot to drive home the importance of hygiene in the workplace. The coffee tasted great, the staff behind the counter were helpful and professional. The store is clean, and has a lot of seating options. I would have rated 5 stars, but after about an hour of sitting outside drinking my mocha, this happened: A man, approximately in his 60's-70's, dressed in a gray t-shirt and grey cargo shorts, and with his grey hair tied back, sits just outside the front door of the shop on the bench to the left (if you're looking at the road from the front entrance. I was sitting at one of the first bistro tables to the right of the entrance and I kept getting strong whiffs of cigarette smoke. Turns out, it's the guy I described above was just sitting on that bench casually smoking...Not 5 feet from the front door. The smoke and smell were so strong that I went inside to sit instead, for "fresh air". Once inside, I'm seated near the really cool "San Francisco" coffee roaster they have in the store. I then see the same guy walk inside from his bench, step over the rope at the coffee roaster, and to my disgust, he starts operating the machine and touching some of the beans. I couldn't have guessed this guy even worked here based on his demeanor out front. But the worst part? He didn't wash his hands. I've worked in the restaurant industry, and then the healthcare industry for many years. I've participated in plenty of health inspections in both fields, had to obtain my Food Handler certification multiple times.... This situation disgusted me, and this was my first and last time I'll visit here. If they read this, hopefully the employees learn to take their smoke breaks much further away from the storefront, and seriously make a trip to the sink to lather on that soap and hot water. None of this should need to be said.

First coffeeshop it doesn’t have a bathroom. They had a porta potty in the parking lot that wasn’t very clean. The atmosphere is nice but the restroom situation wasn’t pleasant 👎🏽 Also do not get a coffee drip. It was nasty but oh well, it was 1.5 bucks🤢
If there actually is a bathroom in the back of your shop it is impossible to find. Also glad I didn't order coffee as the bean roaster was picking beans and sorting roasted coffee with his bare hands as he repeatedly wiped them on his pants. Once a product is cooked and ready to serve you handle it with food service gloves or clean utensils.
