We stayed in Petoskey since our Michigan Mountain Mayhem bike ride was only 20 minutes away. I picked this place based on the reviews and location, I had never heard of this place before. When I arrived, I was truly blown away. This place is beautiful & classy. The staff was so welcoming, I felt like I was visiting family. The food was unreal!!!!! Thank you Belinda for a wonderful stay, your smile will always be remembered :). I wish we would’ve had more time to enjoy the beauty of this place but we are already making plans to come back next year!!

I must say, the Terrance Inn and Restaurant is delightful! I feel like I belong with the warm, very friendly hospitality. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, not far from Little Traverse Bay. Inside reminds me of a grandma's home, with its charm, elegance, and clean efficiency. The grounds are lovely, with several outdoor places to sit and enjoy. I ate breakfast and enjoyed a spectacular dinner comfortably in their classy dining room. The staff is sweetly accommodating, making you feel special. It may not have all the amenities of a ritzy hotel, though their charm, comfort, and graciousness far outweigh the non-necessities. If I'm vacationing in this area again, I'll choose to stay here!

Always great service. The food is very good.. The whitefish is amazing. I'm bummed that the hamburger is off the menu.

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast for anyone that enjoys a cozy atmosphere, quaint and clean rooms and exceptional service. Belinda, the front desk manager was so gracious and kind in welcoming me during my stay. She offered tips for the area and most importantly she had a beautiful energy that showed excitement and passion about the Inn and Restaurant and me being there. Even though it's sometimes tempting to check out restaurants outside of where you are staying - I HIGHLY suggest staying at the Inn. The food is amazingly delicious and you can tell that the chef and their team care. The mushroom crostini was a perfect appetizer to enjoy before dinner. I came back for the three course dinner which was absolutely outstanding. The next morning, breakfast was served by Chef Jordan and his new chef. They were polite, courteous, and took great care of me. I was taken away how great of an experience I had for breakfast. Belinda and the entire restaurant staff really made this an unforgettable experience and I definitely will be back because of that.

If you love historical places this is a great inn! Comfy rooms, a great breakfast included. Dinning is so enjoyable too!

I was researching what to do to celebrate my 18th anniversary with my wife when I came across this hotel. My wife usually prefers to stay at places that are right on one of the Great Lakes so I was taking a gamble when I chose the Terrace Inn. After researching the area a little more I knew that she would love the hotel and the whole Bay View area. She was instantly impressed when we got into the area and fell in love with the hotel the second we pulled up. We have always shared a love of historical buildings and we absolutely adored everything about the Terrace Inn. This isn’t really a hotel to just camp out in your room so choosing the modest garden room with the two twin beds was no issue. It actually worked out great because I spent so many years on third shift that we’ve grown accustomed to sleeping in separate beds. The only small issue would be - well, for someone who isn’t small. I’m 5’7” and the shower head was right at my head. I just ducked a little and it was fine. Keep that in mind if you are booking 102 and are on the taller side. We never got a chance to eat dinner at the 1911 restaurant but we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. It was a wonderful experience having it out on the back deck. On our last night, we walked down the back stairs and down across the pedestrian bridge to the pier by the Bay View Private Beach to watch the sunset. Approaching the grand staircase of the Inn at dusk was picture perfect and a fitting end to our last night. I’ll add the photo I took to this review but it doesn’t do it justice. The only downside to our trip for me is that I don’t know how I’ll top it for our next anniversary. I guess we’ll just have to come back!

I was part of a large tree crew that was in town for a few weeks to clean up the trees damaged from the ice storm. First off it was a super nice and clean place to stay. But the hospitality from the owners to the entire staff was incredible. It was a great experience. If im ever back in town on vacation this is exactly where I would like to stay. Thanks again to the entire staff

If you’re looking for a unique and elevated alternative to the familiar chain hotel brands in the area, the Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant is the place for you. The room itself was charming and quaint, which made for a fun experience. But what really stood out was the exceptional staff at the front desk and in the restaurant. They truly make you feel like a privileged guest in their own home. I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else but the Terrace next time I’m in Petoskey.

We had a good experience at The Terrace Inn. The front desk staff was helpful and professional (not common in today's business world). One staffer even went above and beyond to search my room after I left and thought I had left a valuable item behind. Our room was clean and comfortable. This is a historic inn so be aware that the walls between rooms aren't particularly soundproof, but our neighbors were respectful. Breakfast was a full, hot meal. My only suggestion would be for the staff to move the buffet tables out of the corner; if several customers were there at the same time, making waffles, etc., it was a bit congested. The Bay View neighborhood is wonderful to walk in. So many cool homes with unique character. There is a lot to do in the beautiful Petoskey area, including wineries, bike/hike trails, shopping, and beaches (the state park has a gorgeous beach). I would stay here again for sure. It's a classy place with a lot of charm. The parking on the street near the front door is congested, but we parked on the opposite side of the building (you will have a lot of stairs to climb there, though), and there were lots of parking on that street.

We stay here every time we come to the area to ski, as a tradition, mostly because of the breakfast, but the inn is also quite beautiful and has comfortable beds. Definitely recommend upgrading to a king room on the 3rd floor. Great value too.

Very nice experience for dinner. The restaurant has a unique feel with a step back in time. The chandeliers provided a very romantic setting along with some live music. The food was quite good and had a very nice presentation. Overall there were a couple of bumps in service but they were quite friendly and quick to set things right. They didn't know as much about the items on the menu that we hoped they would but were willing to check in with the kitchen to get the details we needed. We would be interested in coming back here in the future!

Our stay at Terrace Inn was incredible. The friendliest hotel staff I’ve ever seen, and the location is incredibly close to anywhere you could want to be. i have a hard time sleeping in hotels due to how stiff their beds are, but not here, the bed was so comfortable we had trouble getting out of it. Sat in the lobby and played games during the evening with the fire place next to us. This is definitely the place to stay when visiting Petoskey!!!

Had a wonderful weekend at the inn! The property has so much character and takes you back in time. Patty, Belinda, Christy and the other staff were all amazing! All super friendly and helpful and fun to visit with. The suite we stayed in (309) was spacious and very clean. It is on the third floor and there is not elevator so we got our steps in. But well worth it! We woke up to the smell of breakfast cooking each morning that drew us out of bed earlier than planned! Well worth it. Small breakfast buffet but the food was very good. We spent a lot of time visiting in the lobby and exploring the building. Looking forward to our next visit!

I loved this hotel. We will definitely be back. The restaurant is fantastic! The food and ambience on the patio was first rate. I am very picky and it was fabulous. The location is great! Access to a local beach (10 minute walk), quiet lovely neighborhood, there’s a park, restaurant on site, and walkable to the center of town (15-20 minutes). It’s great!! The hotel is under new management and is under going renovations. From what I saw, these will only make the establishment even better. Love this inn.

I absolutely love The Terrace Inn. I have visited four times, and every experience has been positive. The twin rooms were great when I traveled with a friend or my daughter. I've also stayed in a king suite with a hot tub twice - pure luxury! The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. I will be returning!

Beautiful area and building, with friendly staff. Belinda checked us in and then was also there at check out time; she was especially lovely and so was everyone else. We had room 100, which I think was the largest room with a king bed, oversized bathtub, large shower and bathroom. We were right off the main sitting room and next door to another room but it was very quiet all night long. The restaurant was exquisite but we had a large lunch in town so weren’t hungry for dinner unfortunately so we didn’t try it. But we ate in the dining room for the buffet breakfast. A lot of options to suit my husband and my varied tastes, served by a friendly lady. We ate more than enough. We went for a long walk in the surrounding neighborhood and by the lake on Saturday evening and I went for a run on Sunday morning so I can attest for the beauty and quiet of the area. There isn’t a parking lot, and street parking right by the Inn can be hard since it is so popular, but street parking is free and allowed in the neighborhood so we got a spot about a block away.

My mom and I like to visit this beautiful historic inn every year. The rooms are all super cute and each is decorated in different decor. The Complimentary breakfast is delicious and the dining room is beautiful. The restaurant is a must try and offers the best planked Whitefish you’ll ever have! The inn is is quick walk to the lake and is a great place to hunt for petoskey stones. Employees are all very friendly and helpful. We love talking to the owner. Our last visit last summer was pretty rough at night because we couldn’t sleep because of snoring from another room, but sometimes that’s to be expected when staying in a hotel etc. I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a cute place to stay.

We chose the Terrace Inn to have our wedding at because of how charming it is and the unique experience we have each time we stay there. We finally had our wedding in June of this year. It was the most wonderful experience for us and all of our guests! Mo, Patty, and Belinda could not have been more accommodating to help us have the weekend we envisioned. The rooms were clean and bright, the staff was helpful and delightful to work with, and the food - especially the appetizers at cocktail hour - was outstanding. We have been complimented so many times on how fantastic our wedding weekend was, and we owe our gratitude to The Terrace Inn, and it's staff and owners, for being so exceptional. We will forever visit The Inn when we head to northern Michigan.

This Inn is one of our favorite places to go in the entire United States. We have traveled quite a bit and always talk and reminisce about our visits at the Terrace Inn. It’s such a fun place, it is quiet and when you step through the doors you are stepping back to a time when people actually speak to each other, where you walk through a house quietly and marvel at the architecture and history between the walls. Every room is decorated differently With fanciful quilts, and bright colors, again reminiscent of the era. We pick a different room each time we stay. We have stayed there many times over the last 40 years, and never have we had a bad experience. The rooms are impeccably clean, as is the entire Inn. Keep in mind it is a very old historical Inn, it is not ultra modern which is its charm. There are amenities, such as Wifi and Cable TV , but there is also a beautiful Room on the main floor that has a fireplace and books, where you can sit and read or enjoy a nice conversation. A couple of things that really stand out to us, one year we stayed it was my husband‘s birthday and the staff baked him a surprise cake. Another special day, we had breakfast on the front porch and they had someone playing hammered dulcimer music. As my husband and I are getting older and he is disabled, on our most recent stay, we had chosen a room on the second floor but then realized when we got there that he could not climb the stairs. The staff quickly noticed our predicament and offered to Exchange our room for one on the main floor where we had a beautiful room and a wonderful stay. Bottom line, this is a great place to stay if you’re looking for something quaint yet elegant, with a relaxing atmosphere, wonderful owners and staff. PS, the restaurant is excellent too! 👍👍💕💕

We spent New Years weekend at the Inn and had a wonderful time. The New Years Eve dinner was excellent, as was the live entertainment. We booked quite late, so didn’t get our first choice of rooms. I definitely recommend getting one of the larger rooms if available. We love the historic nature of the inn and surroundings. We spent some time exploring the shoreline of Lake Michigan and visiting local wineries and brewpubs. The owners and staff go out of their way to welcome guests and provide excellent service.

we visited the Terrace Inn for 2 nights in room 209 during the slow season, mid-November and it was like stepping back through time; but with modern creature comforts. Since there weren't many people there we had plenty of peace and quiet. We ate at the downstairs 1911 Restaurant in an area in the corner facing the fireplace, it was enchanting. Those mushrooms with the chicken was FABULOUS! We splurged on this trip and it was worth it. We went for a night walk around the Bay View Association campus. It was so beautiful, all the buildings and surrounding homes are Victorian & Queen Ann styled gems. The history of the place is fascinating and it's still in operation during the Summer months. The staff told us of ghost stories, thrift stores, and we had really nice chats with them. We will stay there again.

The 1911 restaurant is a local gem. I was greeted with kindness and warmth from all staff. Our server, Michael, was very attentive, informative on the dishes, and made our experience flawless. The restaurant is welcoming, cozy, and a quiet space to enjoy a delicious meal. I highly recommend the Butternut Squash Bisque and the Coq Au Vin Rouge. Don't skip out on dessert! The Maple Crème Brûlée and the Chocolate Soufflé melt in your mouth. I will be back soon for another great experience.

Ate dinner here in 2019 and vowed to return and stay. Stayed July 4-5 (2 night minimum on weekends). Beautiful place, gracious hospitality. Staff is very welcoming, especially Belinda. We had dinner there both nights; it was soooo delicious. We ate one dinner and one breakfast out on the back porch. The next day was hotter so we ate in the air-conditioned dining room. Hotel rooms are plenty cool, but a/c struggled some in the lobby with doors always opening. Breakfast is included with the room, but it’s a light, continental breakfast. Lovely pastries and fruit, but we’re used to a heartier breakfast when we travel. No elevator, but staff helped us with bags checking in and out. We’d happily stay again.

I stayed for a couple of nights when I attended an event in the area. I was very impressed with the quiet rooms, comfortable beds, and good pillows. I don’t know how they do it because it is very social vibe and yet they make it a very personal experience. … Did I mention the restaurant? Fabulous. You must try the chef’s Salad dressing- They tell me it’s a family Recipe - Excellent.

Good service. Rolls and smoked whitefish dip were delicious. Whitefish and Hanger steak were amazing (maybe ask for medium to get medium rare, I ordered medium rare, but got rare and I wasn't the only table that had this problem). Cocktails and mocktails were good. Carrot cake was rubbery, but the berry crisp was delicious.

This place is amazing and timeless! Duck risotto and short rib pasta delicious. Newer chef, lots of culinary magic. Dynamic beverage list, but if you don't see it, ask the bartender. 2017 Marquis de Riscal for $40 a bottle- very hard to find, and at such a good price point. Also room was freshly repainted and looked like very nice new carpet. Belinda, Troy, Alyse, Lynn, Chef Hopkins ( spelling??) Gave daily attention to excellence. Owner Mary Beth checked on us a couple of times, and we were very impressed with only good things to say. Can't wait to be back and try more dinner options!

This historic hotel brought us great pleasure and sent us back in time. It is set in a historic community with cottages all around. The service was excellent and the food incredible (try the white fish plank). Our room reflected the time period of the 1911 build - small and quaint but with acceptable bath accommodations. This 3-floor hotel does not have an elevator so make that note when reserving.

We had an incredible stay at the Terrace Inn’s Garden Apartment in Bay View! The apartment was spacious enough for our family of six, and the location was absolutely perfect. The food at the attached 1911 Restaurant was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating. Our final night was a highlight—dining on the back patio while enjoying live music from a fantastic band in the terrace garden. Truly an amazing experience. Highly recommend!

The main benefit of this hotel is the gorgeous porch and wonderful little neighborhood which it is in, that is so wonderful for walking and a unique and special experience. I would caution anyone on the driving in the area however, as the roads were clearly an afterthought for an area built before the advent of the automobile (this is hardly a fault of the Inn). The restaurant is delicious and tantalizing (albeit expensive), and the breakfast was excellent for a hotel breakfast; with plenty of options in terms of dishes and beverages. There is wellspring of complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby, and you should treat yourself to the whicker and leather chairs that can only be described as absurdly comfortable. One word of caution is that it's an old Edwardian building and you can hear quite a bit in certain areas. I would recommend a preference for the 3rd and 1st floor suites, as the second floor can be a little loud with the floor above. It's a wonderful charming Inn that has so much character and personality, but that same charm comes with important considerations given the age of the building. Finally BE CAREFUL of the driving. Some of the locals are quite awful on the road and turning in and out of Encampment can be quite unpleasant.

We had a wonderful time enjoying the Terrace Inn and its location. The Inn is historic so take that into consideration when booking. It gave us all the comforts we needed for a night of rest and exploration of the surrounding area. The room was very cute and takes you back in time. The Inn has “settled” a bit and there is noticeable unevenness in the rooms- floors not level. If that does not bother you then book this place. The neighborhood itself is adorable to walk and view the Victorian Era homes. We did not eat at the Inn for dinner but we did enjoy the complimentary breakfast. Our evening we stayed we walked into downtown Petosky and enjoyed dinner, strolling through town, eating ice cream and ended with the sunset over the Bay.

Nice historic inn, Great martini and wine list. Food ok, burrata is basically tomato’s with a slice of burrata , risotto resembles more like semolina. Would not return for food, rooms nice

Overall, we had a nice stay. The staff were very friendly, everything felt clean, and our room was cozy with everything in working order (stayed in a jacuzzi suite). Our only disappointment was the continental breakfast. Based on the website description (which even notes that non-hotel guests can purchase it for $12), how it was mentioned at check-in, and the fact that it’s in a restaurant, we expected something fairly decent. When we came down when it started at 8am, we genuinely thought we must be missing something. We walked through the dining room and eventually found a small table with a couple bowls of fruit and a single plate with one muffin left. Had breakfast not been advertised or mentioned at all, we wouldn’t have expected it in the first place. But it felt super misleading. A few pieces of fruit aren’t worth advertising or charging for. Big bummer!

Don't go into a reservation at this inn unless you know what to expect. 1. The parking situation is awful. There is a small gravel/dirt parking lot with no marked parking spaces. It could feasibly fit four cars in it, but some people can't judge spacing, so it's more likely to have three. All other inn and restaurant guests have to parallel park on the side of the street, which is all residential area. It wasn't difficult to park, just a very odd and unnerving situation to be parking right in front of someone's house overnight. 2. This is a historical building with all of its quirkiness. The Inn makes it very clear, but there are three floors and no elevator. What I wasn't expecting was a slant to the floor so noticable, it felt like I was walking slightly down hill going down the hallway. That messed with my equilibrium. To be clear, at no point did the building feel unsafe, just unlevel. 3. Also in line with being a historical building, the rooms were a lot smaller than expected. The room my travel partner and I were in had two twin beds. The bathroom door couldn't be opened the entire way because it bumped up against one of the beds. Yeah, it's that tiny. The shower was also a stall shower. The shower head was shorter than normal and, as a bigger person, I could barely move in the stall. The walls were pretty flexible, which was an odd choice. I was not a fan of that part of the experience. 4. For some reason, all of the windows we've seen are sealed shut. That seems like somewhat of a fire hazard to me. I don't know if it's for safety or because they figure window air conditioners are enough. 5. We did make reservations for the restaurant one night. The food was decent, but did not leave us ranting and raving. The menu is pretty small, but the options are varied. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible, but I would choose to stay elsewhere next time I'm in the area.

This was our third stay at the Terrace Inn - first time with the new ownership. We love so many things about the Terrace Inn and appreciate the adjustments and updates that are being made, however, we had an experience that soured our stay a bit. We stayed in the Garden Apt for several nights. Breakfast each day was lovely, we loved sitting on the porch with coffee and exploring the neighborhood. Unfortunately, some details were missed in the apartment and the linens were dirty on the day bed. The team remedied it quickly. We found a summer savings deal advertised online and inquired about it. At first, it seemed the process would go smoothly. However, we proceeded to get ehat felt like the run around for our 4 night stay. They offered us a gift certificate, which we did not want but were given while the staff checked with the owner about the credit back. We ate a SPECTACULAR dinner at the restaurant - 11/10 for food! We checked in each day about the payment but there always seemed to be something. I used part of the certificate and then unfortunately misplaced it but knew exactly how much was spent. They tried to offer us less than what was left, which is honestly petty and unacceptable. We felt like they tried to nickel and dime an offer THEY posted and it will sadly make us think twice about staying again. They did give the $ back in the end but it took us showing we were frustrated and being firm to do so, which should not be the case. Chain of command and guest communication needs to improve for 5/5 guest experience. Other interactions with staff, (especially Judy!), were very pleasant.

We have been coming here for at least 5 yrs & always look forward to it. This year was disappointing. We have always enjoyed ending our days sitting by the fireplace with our coffee & tea. There was no fire & the coffee pots were broken, so everything was cold. They know they don't work, so they need to replace them. Also when booking they should tell you they are no longer serving their great breakfast. Now there is a "Continental" breakfast & I'm concerned because they don't use warming trays to keep the food warm & safe. I hope the new owners get it figured out because it has always been a favorite spot for us.

The staff was friendly. The rooms were quaint and cute but definitely on the smaller side and not very comfortable. I loved the high ceilings in my room until I looked up and saw bugs/spiders. Breakfast was ok if you like old school continental... pastries, cubed cheese, boiled eggs etc.. Parking definitely a problem. Great price!

M
Mary Georges

For a one night stay it was OK. Walls are paper thin so heard the talking and snoring in the next room. Bathroom was tiny. If you are looking for a historical experience this is it. If you want space to relax and modern conveniences, check out one of the chain hotels.

The restaurant: outside has a great ambiance while the service is always decent. The food has changed over the years and recently in 2026 on the usual stop the menu changed (minimal salads now) and the plank white fish have become smaller over the years. Still worth a stop for the area but not a priority now with the change in menu and smaller portions. Restaurants are hurting everywhere but a watermelon salad (now not on the menu) and smaller wine selection seems disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend for larger groups of 6+ or small children (high chair) as they are particular about seating on the reservation. Children can only sit in the corners outside and more than 6 have to be at multiple tables.

My husband and I returned to the Terrace Inn for the 3rd time to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We fell in love with it on our first anniversary and it has become "our place". We have had a different room each time and they all have been lovely however, we got a King Suite this time and the bed was so hard neither one of us could sleep. We stayed three nights and that's a long time to go without sleeping. I remember the bed last year was a little hard for our liking, but this bed was much harder and prevented us from even getting comfortable. One evening it rained and we spent hours on the covered porch because we didn't want to go to sleep early and spend any longer in the bed than we had to. We were also VERY disappointed that they have changed their breakfast. They use to have a fantastic breakfast that set them apart and was really the "cherry on top" so to speak. We bragged about that breakfast to everyone we talked to and gave several recommendations with that being one of the main selling points. We didn't find out until we checked in that the breakfast had changed to a more "continental style" with only a "few hot items". The next morning we were even more disappointed to find that there was only one hot item that was just okay. Everything else was mostly carbs (even the hot item was a carb). They had one small table with muffins, pastries, toast, oatmeal, mini doughnuts...not a lot of choices for my diabetic husband. They had apples and watermelon as well. There was a bowl of peeled hard-boiled eggs and a small plate with salami slices and some cubed cheeses. Even the variety of juices and teas have been reduced to just orange juice and one kind of tea. It was very disappointing as now we had to go out to breakfast which wasn't in our daily plans or budget. The new owner has made some aesthetic changes that we thought took away from the beautiful charm it once had- but that is just our personal preference. I did knock down a star for service because our toilet stopped working. On our way our we reported it to the front desk and she told us that you have to hold the handle down until everything is gone, which we didn't know about. She said she would let someone know to go look at it. We came back about 4 hours later and it still wasn't working. I went down to the front desk to find out if they had an approximate time as we were back for several hours and needed a working toilet. The person at the front desk seemed put off that I was asking and stated that they had to get the rooms cleaned from the people that just checked out and when they were done they would take care of the rooms that had guests. Her tone and body language let me know that she was irritated with my question. We left around 9:00am and it was already about 2:00. We had to leave again at 6. I couldn't understand why that wasn't a priority and that they would put the rooms of current guests behind a room that wasn't being used yet- especially with a toilet issue. I asked her for a plunger. She gave me one and said she doubted that was the issue but I could try. I was a little surprised we had to try to repair our own toilet. My husband opened up the tank and jiggled some things around and after some plunging, we were good to go (literally). We aren't above it, just didn't expect to have to do that or wait until they got around to it- especially for the price we paid to stay there. We do love it there and we love the area but we are undecided if we will return for a 4th visit. It makes us sad to think of not going, but we have a year to decide.

We arrive Friday 9/29 evening. We were checked in by Belinda the hotel manager. Never during this checkin did she tell us there was a wedding there on Saturday closing up the facility common areas to the other patrons. These are amenities we paid for in our nightly charge. We then, after 11pm had to call the front desk from the wedding noise in the room next to us - and the the next morning be told that staff that stay in rooms right below, too had complained of the noise. Saturday, we went down for a quiet breakfast to again be overtaken by this wedding event - they stood surrounding the buffet, making it difficult for the other patrons to get to. We were never informed by this establishment that this facility would be of use by this wedding. My traveling companion and I spent our Saturday trying to find another place where we could stay and at least get sleep and enjoy a warm shower / bath. At this Terrace Inn, the shower was not conducive for a woman my size and had dangerous metal pieces in it (I have pictures, if needed) AND the water pressure when other were using went down to nothing, imagine being in a shower and this occurring. We found another place (you’ll see on my credit card charge called Stafford Perry hotel, oddly this hotel is older than the Terrace Inn and has been suitably updated and too had a wedding there on Saturday however had the ability to have the wedding in one area while still keeping their restaurant and bar open to other patrons. We ended up having to pay ANOTHER $376 to move from the Terrace Inn to the Stafford Perry hotel. I told Belinda of our concerns of which she agreed of all of them and said she would speak to the new owner and get back to me. She called on Sunday and offered a gift certificate of a one night stay there for another time. This wedding ruined our mini-vacation and we spent our Saturday having to find another hotel to stay at, so no a gift certificate does not fix the issue. That doesn’t solve the issues of having to go and pay elsewhere to get amenities we were supposed to get at their facility, I only wanted our Saturday night rate and taxes and fees returned to me and they would not refund our one night and it was their fault. Communication - tell patrons of your events and tell them that amenities that you provide will not be, because the event will consume them - Restaurant and Bar. Don't let them fool you with their website - definitely more run down than website or pictures on Google shows.

I wanted to love this restaurant but……. I was enamored by the hotel and the woodworking details. As we entered, the reception room was truly reminiscent of old world with its wood trim and finishes. We were greeted by the host, he told us to step aside and wait. The host then greeted another party and seated them promptly while my husband and I were told to wait. He then seated us after them. Weird…. We ordered a bottle of wine and the buffalo burrata appetizer. It was served with farm to table tomatoes and a pesto/balsamic glaze very clean and fresh tasting . It took approximately 20 minutes or longer not sure but we finished the whole bottle of wine by the time the waitress came back so we could place our dinner orders. We both ordered the 3-course dinner. I had the salad, walleye and berry crisp, my husband had the broccoli soup, braised short rib ragu, and chocolate cake. The salad was delicious and the balsamic dressing was fresh and light, yet full of flavor, the walleye with lentils was an extremely clean dish with natural flavor not over-bearing seasoning what-so-ever. I added salt and pepper to my personal taste. My husbands broccoli soup was the lightest broccoli soup we have ever had (we both agreed), the braised short rib ragu was very hearty and boasting in flavor. However, be prepared it was a bit heavy with the accompaniment of chunks of burrata on this dish. While very tasty, it was a heavy dish. DESSERT- the Berry crisp came out and it wasn’t Berry crisp it was peach crisp. I was irritated as I wasn’t informed that it was peach and I was expecting Berry. While this isn’t the end of the world I was not told this and was completely surprised. Not the right thing to do! Patrons need to be told prior to receiving another choice. What if someone had an allergic reaction ?? VERY DISHONEST! When I told my waitress she acted surprised and then told me at that time oh ya they ran out of berry so they gave you peach. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Who does that without giving someone a heads-up??? They brought me a crème brûlée to fix the situation. Well, when that came it was cold as if it came out of the refrigerator and she said it did look bad. Aren’t you the last line of defense??? If you (our waitress) thought it looked bad then shouldn’t you have sent it back before it came to our table??? Absolutely, absurd! My husband’s chocolate cake was decent it could have used alittle more frosting as it was very thick with one layer of frosting on the top. Bathrooms are clean. Would i recommend this place NO for the price and dishonest service save your money or go somewhere else.

On arrival we discovered there is no parking. You have to find a spot on a neighborhood street which created much confusion with most everyone arriving. Rooms seemed clean but very small, not very convenient if staying for an extended time. The bed in our room was terrible and the front desk help was rude. For the price point I would expect better.

The room was extremely small, shower tiny, bathroom was a closet and the walls were wafer thin. No screens on windows and air conditioner was very very loud. I would have left the window open but I am guessing there were bats out there and not worth the chance without screens. I left a day early and had to pay the extra day even though the substandard hotel experience. Nice staff.

My family and I have stayed at the terrace inn during the summer peak season for many years. This time, we were severely disappointed by the property. Our room, 205 was dirty and uncomfortable. The AC unit in the room was extremely loud and could be heard from the hallways with the door closed. Our room was a tiny double twin and that unit was at the foot of my bed. Our first night in that room, we turned the unit off in order to sleep and were super hot all night. The room was also covered with cob webs and the bed spreads had stains on them. We kicked them down to the edge of the bed to avoid. The beds and pillows themselves were super uncomfortable. The next morning we came down to speak to the front desk and asked to be moved to a different room. They said they would look into it and also see if the AC unit would be fixed. When we came back to hotel at the end of the day to see what the front desk decided, they told us that the maintenance guy has fixed the unit. Upon entering the room we realized that the cleaning service consisted of new towels, and no new sheets. The AC unit was not as loud as before. We decided to bear it another night as it seemed they must not have had anywhere else to move us. After running the AC unit for a few hours, it was just as loud as before. We had another miserable night with no sleep. Turning the unit on for 20 minutes and staying awake while it cooled the room. Then turning it off to try and sleep, then back on when it got too hot. That morning we decided to shorten our trip and go home early. Our bodies were stiff from two nights on what felt like 100 year old mattress and pillows. It really ruined our trip. Seperate from the room, the place is overall is incredibly dirty. There was a used coffee mug left in the second floor hallway from when we checked in Wednesday to when we left on Saturday. The breakfast included with the stay was also pitiful. On a quiet Thursday morning, they ran out of coffee in the first 30 minutes. Everyone had to wait while they made another pot. The toast was also picked over and all pastries gone in the first 30 minutes. When we came to the front desk to discuss the room again and why we decided to cut our trip short, we were told that the manager was not in and would call me. Nothing anyone could do until the manager arrived. At the time of writing this review it has been 6 hours since the front desk told me the mananger would call. Looking forward to seeing how they will make this right.

The comforter had what looked to be mouth drool on it. The handle fell off the bathroom sink. The shower head was very low, not enough room to even turn around. Overall the bathroom is unfit. The breakfast USED to be good. Now they put out hard boiled eggs ( that were still in the shell) and donuts. The morning desk clerk was very rude. I have stayed here 3 times. Won't be back. Very disappointed.

The positives: Great food. Overall pretty clean. A private beach that is a short walk from the hotel. The negatives: Hotel only has street parking. Standard queen size room is so small you cannot open the bathroom door all the way. Shower curtain was stained and the shower head has buildup all over it. Beds were uncomfortable. Front desk staff was extremely rude and made inappropriate comments to me throughout my stay. Overall: I will not be a return customer and I would not recommend to others.
