Great spot for a quick lunch. Herbed chicken sandwich is a solid choice, but definitely get a side of fries if you’re really hungry. Great atmosphere and quick service!
I stopped into Devil’s Alley after finishing the Philly half marathon to warm up with an Irish coffee before meeting the rest of my group for brunch in the area. The bar area upstairs was empty when I arrived around 10:30 on a Saturday, but it quickly filled up as Noon approached. JR was very friendly and attentive. Good vibes with ample TVs, all playing college football on fall Saturdays. Would absolutely go back here and try some food and other drinks!
Stopped over for their brunch. Quite impressed with their variety of options. Ordered the eggs benedict, and the pork sliders and French toast to-go. Breaking into the eggs👌🏻 perfection. Portion sizes were fitting. Service was friendly and attentive. They even came over to adjust the table, properly, as when I first sat down and was attempting on my own.
Daniel was absolutely amazing!!!! My espresso martini was made to perfection with Bailey’s.. nothing like a fresh curated martini shaken and poured bar side for you to perfection. My mom had a mojito made with fresh mint and limes. If you are ever in the area, please make sure to stop by !!
This place is awesome! The atmosphere, food and service were great! Fern did an excellent job taking care of us!
Excellent food I would recommend the pull pork sliders and old bay fries. Staff was also extremely friendly
This was close to our hotel and we were a little overwhelmed with choice but this was perfect. Decent selection of beverages including a couple of gluten free beers. Food was pretty standard bar and grill buy prepared well and decently priced even compared to places outside Manhattan
It was suggested I go here. I was told they had good burgers. I had a burger with cheese, lettuce and tomato along with sweet potato fries and pomegranate juice. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm & inviting. The customer service was friendly and professional. I'll definitely be back. *The all gender restroom door doesn't lock.
Great spot for brunch. Probably one of the best brunch spots in Philly. Service is solid, and if you go before noon on the weekend there is barely a wait. Their bread pudding French toast is amazing!! Highly recommend.
We popped in for brunch on Sunday, I remember liking the atmosphere when we came a few years back. The service was excellent, and ambiance perfectly chill for a nice brunch. I had the pancakes and chicken sausage & my husband enjoyed the burger. Everything was tasty. Thank you!
Love this spot! Chill atmosphere. The bartenders are great. Anything with BbQ sauce on it is amazing! Buffalo chicken sandwich is awesome. Short Rib and Salmon dinners were great!
This is one of my favorite go to spots for lunch. The ambience is great...I love the subdued lighting and the cool art on the walls. Their food is always awesome! One item that I absolutely CANNOT get enough of is their fried green tomatoes! I am a meat eater and I will gladly forgo all meat just to eat this flavorful savory plate of happiness!!!!
Was very happy to find a place that we could actually sit down and eat on a Saturday night with no reservation and the food ended up being wonderful. I highly recommend the jerk chicken tacos. They were so good that we just had them delivered to the hotel the next day. It was very loud and went in there, but that was mainly contributed by a group of three or four very loud girls sitting at one table.
Great bar with a funky modern feel and delicious food options. The whole front of the building opens to the street, which made for great people watching from the second floor. Very spacious location with more seating on the first floor. I had the devils breakfast and it was simple yet flavorful. I would recommend to anyone looking for good food and a very unique atmosphere
Stopped by for lunch while visiting Philadelphia. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Tacos my wife had the Chicken n Rib combination. The tacos came with a mango topping. Our food was nothing short of delicious.
I hate the covid happened now they’re no longer selling the calamari,I would go there just for that dish specifically😩 I love it here, the atmosphere is chill and cozy. Their food is really good as well, the calamari is my favorite dish, and their wings along with their chipotle ranch sauce is delicious! It’s so much flavor. The waiters/waitresses+the guests are friendly as well, prices are reasonable. Great place for tourists to visit! I’m literally obsessed with their food, go if you haven’t already.
I will visit this place every time I return to Philadelphia. The city may be known for cheesesteak sandwiches, but I will tell you that Devil's Alley's grilled brisket and cheese sandwich is one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted! Compared to the cheesesteak sandwiches I have had here, this makes way better use of beef, cheese, and bread for my palate! The pulled pork nachos were wonderful and the sweet potato fries are as great as I've ever tasted. The sandwich and sweet potato fries, washed down with a bit of Guinness, made me a happy man!
The bartender was great! They didn't have my usual, but she was able to accommodate and make me something similar. The vibe there is chill and clean.
I ordered the chicken rib combo with coleslaw & fries the chicken and ribs were tender and juicy and fries were also cooked to my liking I requested hot sauce and ketchup on the side and ate the fries with s&p only the coleslaw was delicious I was satisfied with my order I would recommend this restaurant I ordered online and picked up my food no dine in experience
We were in town and happened to find this restaurant in maps. So glad we chose here for dinner! First, the atmosphere was so cool--industrial, modern, and well decorated. Second, the food was excellent. My partner (who barely chokes down broccoli twice a week) even ate the roasted brussels sprouts & said they were good! Last, our server, Chase, was phenomenal! The restaurant wasn't very busy because we came before the dinner rush. But Chase made us feel welcome and attended to and we even shared a few laughs! It is clear that the owners care about providing amazing food with delightful service and making sure customers leave with a great impression(: Will happily come back when we come into the area!
Devil's Alley has become my go-to spot for drinks and a bite with friends. It’s a great local place that feels more welcoming each time I visit. The burgers are some of the best in the city, and the menu overall is diverse with plenty of delicious options. I love bringing friends and family upstairs to sit by the windows. I’ve also stopped by for lunch when it’s quieter, and the atmosphere is just as nice.
Went here for lunch after visiting the Mutter Museum. This place was an awesome find! All the food was incredibly delicious and flavorful. The drinks tasted great. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. Truly an excellent experience and we will be back next time we are in the area!
The buffalo chicken sandwich here is one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Great place to go watch a game, have a drink and get brunch or dinner.
The food and drinks were awesome here. Brandon was our server, was super patient with us, and overall everything was an excellent experience. If youre in Philly, do yourself a favor, and go say hi to Brandon for us.
This has been a go-to spot for me and my friends since we first went 3 years ago and it's always a great time. Prices are good, staff is friendly, and the vibe is great. Happy hour is a must for good drinks and food.
Stopped in for lunch, the burger was amazing. The others has the buffalo chicken sandwich and raves about it. Highly recommend. Great food and service.
Came here with friends to celebrate my birthday. The food was great but the service was even better. The bartender was right on point. We had a blast.
Great spot right near Rittenhouse Square. Stumbled upon it as a visitor with my gf a few years ago and now we live nearby! Went about 2 weeks ago again around brunch time. My gf got the shrimp and grits, which she had the first time we went and she couldn't stop thinking about it. Amazing again, She says! I had the biscuits & gravy the first time we went, which was great and eggs Benedict this time. Also fantastic. Great place for lunch and it looks like it's a fun bar at night as well! We did have some afternoon cocktails that were quite good. Definitely a place I'd recommend!
A fantastic value. While nothing extraordinary, the food is very flavorful, the service prompt and cordial, and the atmosphere inviting. I had the turkey burger, which was decent, and a nice pale ale. I do wish they had more draught beer options, but since this meal cost only $20.00 after tax, it’s a minor complaint.
We stopped in here right before it started raining and was able to sit down as there was no wait. We ate upstairs and was able to sit by the window and see outside . I ordered the salmon 🍔 with sweet potato fries 🍟 and it was delicious 😋 . The homemade tomatoe aoli spread was good too. Our waitress waa amazing 👏 she had a great knowledge of the menu and great attitude and helpful. Mt friend ordered the special of the bang bang shrimp tacos 🌮 😋.
Love their buffalo chicken sandwich and chipotle ranch! Also awesome happy hour. The pork sliders and cheesesteak eggroll are awesome. The sangria is also very good!
Great drinks and okay food! My friend and I went for SIPS and left satisfied overall. The drinks were definitely the highlight and the sweet potato ribbon things were surprisingly good and fairly portioned for the low cost (we were expecting curly fries but the twists didn't disappoint!). I was disappointed with the wings because they didn't taste seasoned but the sauce definitely saved the experience. My friend also said the sliders were good. Additionally, the staff was friendly and the place itself didn't get too loud, despite it being pretty full in the middle of Happy Hour. Overall, I would definitely come back for the drinks and am curious to try some of the main menu items! If I could, I'd give this more of 3.5 instead of 4, but it leans more to 4 because everything else made up for the wings. #SIPS2023
We stopped by after the Philly Love Run for a much needed brunch. It wasn’t full and we had a nice table upstairs by the window. The bartender is awesome! He made a perfect spicy Bloody Mary and was funny and helpful. Thanks for making out lunch great!! The menu online isn’t exactly what they have (at least for brunch) but what we had hit the spot. The biscuits and gravy is a huge portion. Served with eggs and delicious crispy potatoes. My friend got the burrito sans tortilla. Also great. So glad we tried this place. Would definitely go back!
Went during happy hour. Good food. Onion rings and fries were my favorite. Grilled buffalo chicken sandwich was delish. Changed the hot sauce, the one they had before was better but still good. Jerk chicken tacos were too spicy.
Great time for happy hour. Had lots of beers. Decent collection. I wish they had rotating beer menu but it’s a decent spot. The food in hh menu is tapas style. So the charges are half but so does the quantity. Order Salmon burger as it’s best according to a friend. We had dinner plans so didn’t really got much food.
The food was good and there were just enough options of something different and something typical. I was here on a work trip and unsure of what my coworker’s taste is in food. I suggested we go here because it seemed like we could both easily find something. The menu did not disappoint. Though not a huge menu, as I stated, plenty of options for anyone. The service was a little slow but the atmosphere was nice. It was hard to hear, even though the restaurant was not full. I would eat here again. The herb grilled chicken sandwich (pictured) was fantastic. The Philly Cuban, my coworker had, was good too.
Food is good. The jerk tacos are yummy. The shrimp in the shrimp tacos are huge...look like pineapple rings. Alot of food. Good quality service. Definitely will return
Popped in here for a quick drink while walking to brunch! Ordered espresso martinis and they were tasty. We were celebrating my friends birthday and the bartender hooked us up with some birthday cake shots which was so sweet and they were good as well! Love all the little cartoonish devil pictures they had hung up in here and the plants everywhere. Cool spot, chill vibe.
If you want a casual place to relax and have drinks and some bites, this is it. They had one of the more reasonably priced menus in the area. Order the cheesesteak egg roll! All of our food and drinks were good but service was mediocre. After placing our initial order, we never saw our waitress again. Had to ask someone else to order additional items and then had to go to bar to request to pay our bill.
I came here twice and received pretty good service both times, not the most attentive staff but the menu is fantastic, there's a good amount of choices. They have daily specials and the food tastes great! This is a roomy bar so you likely can always find a place to sit and the staff is pretty laid back.
The family stopped in for Sunday Brunch. Wonderful and friendly staff took great care of us. Mimosas were tasty as was the fresh coffee. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy with scrambled eggs. Delicious amount sausage in the gravy over biscuits that were not as fluffy as I would like, but still good - finished each one. We enjoyed our experience at Devil's Alley and would return for brunch or dinner.
Stopped in for a quick evening bite with a friend. They were very accommodating and we were able to sit upstairs. I had little ones with me and it was kid friendly. Nice regular and kids menu. I really enjoyed the jerk chicken tacos, so fresh. My friend had the Philly Cubano and it was huge! Very tasty, juicy and the bread was so delicious. The hand cut fries were good and a bucket was enough for two to share. Billy was an awesome server and made a top notch Arnold Palmer. I will definitely return to this Center City hidden gem.
Burger is quality meat and was cooked to my preference. Onion rings were crispy and tasty. Totally recommend
Food was just okay. If you’re into trying seasonal drinks their wine is good. I felt like the jerk chicken tacos are overrated, the best part were the mangos. I would go again to try other things on menu
I liked the effort from the team, and the atmosphere was fun/open/relaxed/jovial. The aesthic fits the brand. Do not eat here. Drinks are okay. Ordered an excellent White Russian that was made nothing like im used to. It was a little tan (in color), but it was good. 10/10. Our table was joking about what a "brown russian" drink might be like, and i think the bar created it lol. I would order it again I cant recommend the food unfortunately. Steer clear of the enticing old bay fries :`( theyre dangerously over seasoned/salty. I couldnt tell at first and my chef&cook friends had to tell me to "be careful." After waiting a bit and going to eat them I understood immediately what they meant and had to throw them away. The kitchen redid my original order for me but it just didnt come out right the second time. We went around 9 to 10pm Good atmosphere, good night overall.
We went on a weekday at 6pm (within the happy hour window) and I ordered a sangria off the happy hour menu. I was charged full price for it, and when I asked our waiter about it and pointed out the happy hour menu, she just said "Oh yeah we're not doing that"
Caesar salad was inedible (on a verge of a health hazard) with limp leaves blackened on the edges from dying. Ordered buffalo chicken sandwich and on their site it says $13 for the sandwich and $2 for fries and $2.5 for Caesar salad. In reality was was $4 for fries and $4 for side salad which is fine but it’s not what I was hoping for.
Mice... the management just shrugged it off as if mice in an establishment that serves drinks.. and food is not a osha violation... i mean it was a great vibe for a single guy trying to find a cozy place away from the snow to have a drink and write. But they need to get an exterminator if they wanna see this spot grow...
I decided to pop out for a little lunch today and I went here. Now I came here for some wings because I read some good reviews about them. The wings was good at first then I noticed I got a headache out of nowhere. Idk how much sodium was on the dry rub but omg!!! Horrible! The wings itself was good and juicy. Also grabbed an old fashioned and it was sorry to say awful! All I taste was the maple syrup. I didn’t even taste the Bourbon.. The atmosphere was nice I did like the tree. Fast forward to the next day the wings flared up my acid reflux! Tums on deck. Sorry to say, but I will not be returning. Just the name itself is a little weary.
I live close by and I've been going quite often the past couple visits were very different. They have a high turnover of staff and a lot of the staff is very knowledgeable. Twice on two different occasions they had issues with paying the bill I gave them the money to pay the bill and they came back with change of the money I gave them instead of deducting my bill. Another time they asked me how much change I wanted back when I gave them the money for the bill I thought that was a little bit presumptuous. I won't be going for quite a while until they get a different staff one that understands how to take the money and bring back the change and then you tip them accordingly
