Food and service are phenomenal. This restaurant has been around for some time and for good reason. The interior is so cozy, it’s giving European neighborhood vibes. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Philly - non pretentious yet exceptional food. We did the a la carte which is more my style, which you can do Monday through Thursday ( I believe) but other tables did the Prix fixe which also seemed delightful.

Fantastic dining experience, every dish was not only delicious, but very thoughtfully and artistically presented. The servers were very friendly and explained each course in detail. If you are looking for a different menu and intimate setting, this is the place to go!

Highly recommend the prix fixe menu at this outstanding seafood restaurant. We enjoyed their intimate, casual vibe. It was a treat to watch the talented chefs prepare each course in the open kitchen just steps away. We expected to have leftovers from this 6 course meal. Instead, the dish proportions were perfect and we devoured everything. We were unsure what to expect since we are not big seafood eaters and I can't eat spicy food. Little Fish exceeded our expectations. They provided one of the top 10 dinners we've ever had. They even added a candle flourish to our dessert since we were celebrating a birthday. We learned that they change the menu seasonally and look forward to visiting them again, with guests.

Great meal. Loved the vibes and open kitchen. Scallop toast and oyster congee were our favorites. Everything was cooked to perfection and the mixed use of textures and temperatures was so nice to see. Only regret was not adding the crab uni tagliatelle at the end which looked amazing

Not a little fish in a big pond of Philly food scene. We tried the prix fixe menu and the taste, presentation and freshness of food was superb. Very creative pairing of ingredients and in a very good way. Servicer was knowledgeable and Friendly. We will surly return.

Great time with the prix fixe — scallop toast is unbelievable. The shared timing of plating in the cozy dining room is a nice experience too. Lovely staff and service.

We came to the Little Fish for family dinner while visiting Philly. Reservation was made a few weeks before. The food is Asian + French fusion. We took the pre-set menu, with 5 courses. The services are great and foods are amazing. It is a little toward the expensive side.. recommended if you are a foodie.

Excellent and quaint place with extremely high quality food and unique menu. When I say unique I mean it’s unique and hard to find some of the creative elements that are matched with the main courses. The scallop toast is an ABSOLUTE must and when of the best things I’ve eaten. The hamachi was fresh and dressed perfectly, the sauce pairing so well with it and the kimchi pineapple and cucumbers as well. The branzino was like a soup but it was absolutely delicious. Very light tasting yet full of flavor and didn’t make me feel heavy or bloated. Service was top tier and all around I highly recommend this place. The menu items are all very fairly priced.

We got the 5 course pre fixe menu for $90 pp. it was great. We really liked the Korean influence on the food. Our favorite was the scallop toast, which just melts in your mouth. The crudo was good too. We didn’t feel stuffed after, so if you’re looking for a “full belly” experience this wouldn’t be it. Otherwise, we love 🥳

Absolutely a gem in the city! I have been getting tired of many restaurants that sell good looking and VERY pricy dishes but the food doesn’t really tastes good. Little fish is not cheap but the food worths the price. The a la carte menu is pretty short so we got everything except the bread and oysters. The top1 is definitely the signature scallop toast!!! Everyone should order at least one of it. All the other dishes were exceptional too. BYOB is also a bonus.

Wow! One of the best meal we've had in a long time. Elegant and delicious. May have been the single best bite of crab I've ever had and the scallop toast was also so, so good. Tiny place with great service and amazing food. Prix fixe menu was a little pricey but worth every cent. Bring a nice bottle of wine! Highly recommended!!!

Little fish is a gem! You gotta come seafood yourself 🤣 we did a la carte and it was a good choice too. Though the pre-fixe is likely a larger portion per person, you can just get a touch more variety a la carte for the same price. The flavors are well balanced and elevates the food. The scallop toast is a nice standout with chili kick on a well toasted bread. Scallops dish was espe-shell-y delicious.

I was here for my partner's 40th birthday. We had the five-course tasting menu. The scallop toast didn't disappoint. The pesto pasta was perfect, and I also liked the salmon teriyaki. Service was personal and the pace of the meal was spot-on. I would definitely come back. Thank you!

Indubitably one of the best meals in the entire city and only doesn’t get the recognition it deserves because of being a byob. The tasting menu is worth your money and a good value. My favorite parts of the meal were the two scallops plates, hamachi and dessert. The ambiance is also just perfect being able to watch the two chefs cook your food in what feels like your own quaint-chic dining room.

Little Fish is an absolute gem of a restaurant. They only serve fish and outstanding desserts. My wife and I tried both the scallops and tuna starters. We had the tuna main which was served with a risotto and was outstanding. LF is a BYOB and the total cost is well under $100, and a bargain at that. The servers were amazing the the open kitchen is a highlight.

This place is a fishy gem! Had a special anniversary dinner at Little Fish. Every dish was special, although the scallop toast has to be in the top things I have ever eaten - the texture, the taste is mind-blowing. The fish is top, top quality! We wouldn't recommend the oyster dish but that's only because we prefer oysters au naturel. The bread service was a little disappointing. Great, friendly service. Would recommend a reservation for the prix fixe nights.

This Sunday tasting menu is not only affordable but insanely and surprisingly knockout good. I was prepared to order everything on the menu but didn’t realize that Sunday was a 4 course meal. They gave me just the right amount of food.

Cozy atmosphere with top notch food. This place is very seafood forward serving unique preparations of delectable morsels.

Yes of course the food is awesome but super kudos to Erin and Stevie for making dinner so much fun and enjoyable. Top notch all the way around.

Intimate restaurant (think the neighborhood joint where the neighbors come thru and the chef actually knows them by name) with direct views into the kitchen. There's about 7 - 10 tables available so definitely get reservations. The oysters available at the time were from Prince Edward island (Canadian east coast) - they were sublime and an easy entry for oyster nubes. Had the bronzino & while the fish was amazing - it was perfectly complemented by the pecan and olive oil base it came served on - I'm VERY happy with this meal and am excited to come back for more.

The service was absolutely amazing!! The food was delicious...definitely try the fried rice & the cinna-bun! 😋 Dining was outdoors (pandemic), there were heaters provided but be sure to dress warm at least during this season. And don't forget to BYOB!! 🍺🍷

Currently my favorite restaurant in Philly! We were there celebrating my birthday and Little Fish did not disappoint. I had sashimi and my wife had poached black bass for appetizers. Both were excellent. Entrees were bluefin tuna and halibut and both of them were outstanding also. Little Fish is not a fancy place and it is very small at just 22 seats (plus sidewalk seating when weather permits), so you need to reserve ahead of time but it is well worth the wait. We were there on a wednesday night and it was quite full the whole time we were there. I've read other reviews where people thought it was expensive or the servings were too small but Little Fish is all about serving the best possible fish and that comes at a cost. Personally, I can't wait for my next trip to Philly so I can go back.

Amazing place to eat. I’m from Europe and I hate American fast food. This is amazing sea food. Just as if I was in France eating it. I recommend Crab, Cod, Lobster, and Oysters. Everything fresh, juicy and really reminds me of home. Thank you. Really recommend that place!

I've been here a few times during the summer. All the seafood I had from this place is very fresh. Love all the creative seafood dishes that the chef brings to the menu! Looking forward to all the new dishes that the chef would create in the future!

Scallop toast with chill oil is my fav. A really special flavor and texture. Scallops melted in my mouth when I took the first bite.

We are blessed and retired early, travel and food is a passion. Make a reservation and treat yourself to the tasting menu, it was the highlight of our Philly trip. The food is fresh and creative and the team is great from the chef to the servers. So good we went twice !

This was genuinely one of the best meals of my life, definitely the best meal I have had in Philadelphia. The flavors in every dish are bold and vibrant, yet remarkably well balanced. Each bite of seafood was cooked perfectly. Some of the flavor combinations are a little different as well, and they don't shy away from heat when they use it, which I love. It's clear the food is made with care and confidence. On top of that, this place is everything a restaurant should be. It is intimate and personal, with a primary focus on the quality of the food. The space is small, but still feels special and welcoming. The service seems genuinely friendly instead of forced or contrived. Honestly, it is truly inspiring what this restaurant is doing. Go here; you will not be disappointed.

I had the best experience at Little Fish! The dining room was warm and welcoming, and it was great to be able to watch the chefs at work from the table. The service was top-notch and the food was incredible. Every bite was amazing, and all of the fish was incredibly fresh. Can't wait to go back.

Little Fish is one of, if not, the best restaurant in the city. The atmosphere is intimate, the Little Fish team is welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly, and the food is outstanding. Go for the prix fixe, even if it's a night that you could do a la carte. Just trust that the LF team knows what's best and enjoy. Add ons to the menu, do at least one - the team brings it home with their seasonal creative extras. In summary, Little Fish makes the kind of food that after I eat it, I'm mad at all the other food I eat for the next week for not being Little Fish.

A wonderful dining experience. The dining was small and intimate and you feel like they are cooking just for you because they are. I like it when I don't have to think and you just leave it up to the chef to do what they know best. All the fish was beautifully prepared and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Come here if you want more than just great food but also an intimate experience.

Really nice experience. Left full and satisfied! Faves were the scallop toast, chawanmushi and mackerel!

This is probably the best restaurant in Philadelphia. It embodies everything that makes the Philly food scene so uniquely great. 5 star meal in the first floor of a row home in South Philly (Queens Village). They cycle the food regularly, I’ve never had the same course twice - minus the raw scallops - which are legendary… on top of all this, it’s BYOB.

M
Matt Szczurek

The atmosphere and food were incredible. Even though the portions were small, I left feeling completely satisfied. My top dish was the scallop toast — every bite was flavorful. The chili oil added just the right amount of kick without overpowering the other flavors or lingering into the next dish. The pan-seared halibut was also outstanding, cooked to a melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The subtle touch of miso (you could slurp) at the end was the perfect finishing touch. I’ll definitely be going back periodically as the menu changes.

J

I loved it here. The scallops and ceviche were incredible. The shrimp & oysters fell short of the rest of the meal, but for the most part everything was delicious. Favorite seafood restaurant in Philly and look forward to coming back.

Have been to Little Fish many times over the years and noticed I never reviewed. Last visits was with group where we all did the pre-fixe and the meal was a joy. The detail to the flavors in each dish just impressed us and friends we've gone with. Most recently they served Bronzino perfectly pan fried that made all previous Bronzino we've had seem wanting. The only course that slips is dessert but who comes to a place like Little Fish for dessert. Service is very good though you will feel the bums rush as the next seating's time approaches.

I had forgotten how good Little Fish is. I was glad to be reminded by going with a party of 4 to celebrate a birthday. We ordered one of everything on the menu and a dozen oysters and loved every bite. Kudos to the kitchen and service staffs for the good vibes and great flow.

The best seafood place in Philly for sure! It was a prix fixe with optional other dishes you can order in addition. The place is very intimate, and the staff is super friendly and helpful, the chef is an awesome guy, and the food was perfectly prepared. They took great care of my wife and i, including accommodating my shrimp allergy with alternatives. We can't wait to come back!

Yes, 5 stars across the board! My new BFF’s are the team at Little Fish. They have a spot on trifecta…fresh, delicious, creative food (that you crave after you are done, truly), attentive and fun service, along with an atmosphere that makes you feel like you are at a dinner party in Chef Alex’s home. I am blessed to have had many years experience in dining around the world, so you can trust me when I say Little Fish is well worth your time and is a damn good value. My husband and I were visiting Philadelphia for a few days for fun and Little Fish was our first choice for dinner. We loved it so much that we went back the next night. We had the tasting menu the first night, every dish was creative, fresh and succulent. The quality of the food and the amount of food you get is truly an excellent value. The next night we had the rest of the menu and a few repeats that I still crave! Well done Chef! Thank yo! As for the service, they are all attentive, friendly, engaging, and fun. Aryn, as their fearless leader is full of energy, very knowledgeable of the food, and is thoughtful with her opinions, and has a great sense of humor. She made celebrating my birthday so much more fun. Maybe next time she will sing happy birthday? Last but not least, the atmosphere is cozy but not crowded. With the open kitchen, you do get a nice homey feeling. There is an ice bucket at each table that is ready and waiting for you (love me a good BYOB)! Cheers to Chef Alex and his team for an amazing experience…twice! We cannot wait to come back. PS. What you pay per person depends if you do the tasting menu ($100+)or a la carte ($50-100).

Little Fish was overall a good experience which I wish was a bit more well rounded. First and foremost, the service was excellent. Congenial and quick with good recommendations, the service was awesome. The food itself was also great overall, with interesting and tasty dishes. My issues are around the overall experience and actual food received. Each dish was extremely small for the price, and difficult to share due to portions. Really it felt like a menu intended to be a pre-fixe tasting menu but still in transition. The BYOB aspect was nice, but likely won't be back.

N
Natalie Caldwell

First time at this neighborhood BYOB and already great that they are a BYOB. The reason for the four stars was the service. While the food was delicious, there were times that we were completely ignored (which is hard to believe when there are only seven tables in the entire restaurant). Otherwise, the meal was a great experience. The oysters were small, chewy (not grainy), and savory. The scallop toast (a restaurant must-have) was a fantastic balance of flavors and textures - it was very well executed. The bigeye tuna was fine…nothing overly special here. The tagliatelle was lemony and creamy without being overly heavy, topped with three beautifully seared shrimp. YUM. If they have it, totally recommend. For entrees, we got the butter roasted halibut, a very sizable piece of fish with matched perfectly with the very creamy and rich sauce it was paired with. The snapper (which was supposed to be a golden tilefish but they swapped out the fish type) was light, fresh and great balance of flavors and textures. All in all, a solid Philly seafood experience. Would go back because it’s a BYOB and in hopes of more attentive service.

Sjoerd van Tiel

Great fish and seafood experience. Creative compositions. Nice sociable staff. Ice bucket provided for your own wine.

B
Brooke Carrero

Great atmosphere and service. Open kitchen. Oysters and scallop toast are to die for. The only reason I am giving this a 5 star is because the entrees need just a little more flavor. I would recommend going heavy on the first course and sharing an entree for two.

C
Claire Ronsairo

Came here for the Sunday dinner tasting and was not disappointed. Each dish was carefully prepared and the pairing of the vegetables to fish was excellent. Service was prompt. Atmosphere was cozy.

V
Vincent Guo

To be honest, I was underwhelmed by my experience at Little Fish. Went for the weekend dinner prix fixe menu for an anniversary dinner. All the dishes were creative with touches of Asian influence, and the restaurant had a cute and cozy atmosphere. However, the portions were very small for the price—and it felt like I needed to buy the specials to complete the meal. I was excited for the Scallop Toast but the amount of actual scallop was very little (perhaps 1 scallop per toast) and overpowered by the toast + chili. It seems their portion sizes have changed when you look at the scallops. Even their bread course felt small with small slices of baguettes. I love the concept and had high hopes but I wish it could have been more.

B
Ben Zinner

The starters were delicious, and the staff was friendly and service was great, the soup was not good, the fish was ok, in the end I left dissatisfied. Overall the portions were not large enough especially to justify the cost.

S
Simon Redman

This was a great dinner. Every dish by itself was excellent. The black cod was probably my favorite thing I've ever eaten. It was perfectly cooked, flaky, and buttery with a nice hit of salinity. However, taken as a whole this meal didn't tell a story. We started off with some amazing appetizers followed by a fantastic salad course, then essentially three mains in a row. A black nori pasta with uni, the black cod, and a grilled branzino. Each dish was excellent, but didn't build in any way on the previous. I remember thinking at the time that the branzino was underwhelming after the cod, but I also don't think it would have made sense to reverse them. We are blessed with lots of amazing food in Philadelphia and little fish is definitely near the top of the ladder. I'd recommend a visit and I'm excited to come back in awhile to see what has changed!

G
Gary L (G)

The food was good but the quality of food did not make up for the small portions. The first two courses of tuna and scallop toast were the highlight, but you’ll leave hungry after the fixed menu. The fish was very fresh. We added on the octopus and pasta to the chef tasting menu and the a la carte portions were insulting for $32 and $48 respectively. I may recommend this place to a fish fanatic but there’s too many great restaurants in Philly for me to ever go back. The service was good and BYOB is nice. Great atmosphere with about 4-5 tables. Won’t be back.

S
Stephen Sklarow

I unfortunately did not have a good experience here. I got the prefixed menu and while the starters were tasty, both main seafood dishes I received were incredibly fishy, salty, and borderline gross. They stunk right when they arrived. At that price point that’s just unacceptable. The service was fine no real complaints there but the atmosphere was very cramped and it was freezing in there. Not a great experience in any particular restaurant fashion, maybe don’t go on a Monday like I did.
