This place was really impressive. Very detailed flavor profiles that are executed with a high level of success. Fresh ingredients and intentional execution were undeniable with everything ate. This also extended to the drink menu as well. I don't know about others, we thought the service was equally superlative. I would highly recommend this one, especially if you are in the mood for a lighter meal.

Really enjoyed spice finch. The chef definitely knows what they're doing! the roasted eggplant dish was the best eggplant dish I've ever had. So flavorful and fresh. The menu is vast and i felt the prices were appropriate. Portions were good on everything. The margarita on the menu was SO delicious. I'll be back and highly recommend for vegetarians. MAKE RESERVATIONS! they do have a full service bar seating for walkins but they were fully booked after 6pm on a saturday evening i was there

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and were very happy with the food and service we received. Our server, Celeste, had a lot of knowledge of the menu and gave us excellent recommendations! She was also very attentive and truly made the dining experience memorable.

Found myself at this establishment this past Friday evening on a stroll out alone and decided to give it a go. The space is vast with ample room at the bar to snag a seat and enjoy a beverage and a meal. I was greeted by the bartender who was super sweet and extremely friendly. He made a suggestion or two when I asked and was pleasantly surprised at the delicious concoction he prepared for me. The sugar rimmed margarita was so good I had 2. Dinner was punctual and prepared exactly how the menu described it. No surprise ingredients or sauces. My only gripe, it would have been better to go here with someone or a small group. The tapas looked and sounded amazing however eating solo there’s only so many dishes you want to order. Def give this place a go! It’s worth it

What a gem! Spice Finch in Philadelphia absolutely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, the service was phenomenal – attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. We dove into their amazing small plates to share, and each dish was a burst of flavor and creativity. It's truly a fantastic spot for sharing and trying a variety of their offerings. And for all our plant-based friends out there, you'll be thrilled to know they have great options for vegans as well, which is always a huge plus. To top it all off, their drinks were expertly crafted and perfectly complemented the food. Spice Finch is definitely a five-star experience and a must-visit in Philly!

This place is a really nice, small, Mediterranean restaurant. The staff was pleasant, and my waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered many great suggestions. I had small plates and everything was absolutely delicious. I ate way too much because I just didn’t want to stop eating! If you’re looking for great, tapas style or full dishes, Mediterranean food, definitely check out Finch!

Shoutout to Jaylene! She was my girlfriend and I's waitress on our anniversary dinner and she did such an amazing job in making sure we were well taken care of! Answered any questions we had and had a very personable personality, she deserves all the praise. Moving onto the food however, we were BLOWN away by the chef's tasting menu. It was our first time at Spice Finch so we didn't know what to expect, but every course/meal definitely left a mark on us; from the shishito peppers, broccoli tabbouleh, chickpea wedges, lamb shank (SO tender), etc. We also had cocktails to complement the dinner and they were perfectly handcrafted by the bartender. All in all, it was a great experience and definitely a place to visit while you're in the city. Will definitely be back!

The roasted eggplant (main dish) and halloumi gem salad (small plate) were delicious and very filling. The service was fabulous and attentive as well - my main server (Katie) and the young man bringing out the dishes were warm and friendly. The wait time for seating and food was very short, almost non-existent. And my dog was given his own water bowl and fawned over which was super sweet. I will be back!

Amazing! Best dinner we had while visiting Philadelphia. First the ambiance was amazing, the staff was friendly and attentive. Cocktails… super tasty! Then the meals arrived !!! Wow-Wow-Wow! 🤩 The flavors were outstanding! The Fattoush was so refreshing, the Moroccan Steak—-Phenomenal! The frites, the lamb and steak kebab ::chef’s kiss! Will definitely return to try more items from the menu! Thank you to Shawn our server! He was also great.

First time experiencing just type of Mediterranean food, it was actually excellent! To my surprise it was very very good. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, not too loud. Service was adequate. But again, the food was surprisingly absolutely delicious. Very good

Moroccan steak fries was delicious and my wife loved the garlic yogurt dip. Everything was great. Fair price points and ample portions, too. Definitely recommend.

Phenomenal place to have dinner. Not one dish was just ‘okay’ but great, amazing, spectacular or a litany of other descriptive words. Great service, nicely kept, and decorated, dining area. Food was the star of the show. Most disappointing thing is that I live far away from Spice Finch

Food was excellent. Attention from the wait staff was thorough and friendly. Prices are Excellent considering the location, any other restaurant with this atmosphere and quality, the prices would be through the roof. Chef knows what he is doing, he is kind to his staff and respectful. It shows, and is reciprocated. I should be so lucky to be able to work in a clean, efficient, airy, comfortable family feeling type environment. That’s ok! I get to eat here on VERY special occasions! I am grateful!

I’m shocked I haven’t reviewed Spice Finch, because I absolutely love this place-can’t really afford dinner time but the weekday happy hour is fantastic. I often come in on my days off to enjoy the menu for wonderful prices. Great service, and the warm halva brownie is a gem item of Philly-you simply MUST try it—they even put some spin sugar on the vanilla ice cream top! Delicious!

Had a lovely dinner here. The trio dip and tabouleh salad were fantastic. Lamb shank was not as flavorful as our two earlier courses. Our waitress Danielle and the manager were lovely, and we will be back to visit them again!

An absolute culinary delight! Spice Finch in Philadelphia has earned its well-deserved 5-star review for its exceptional Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance transports you to a world of warmth and hospitality. The menu is a masterpiece of flavors, featuring dishes that pay homage to the rich culinary traditions of the Mediterranean region. Each bite is a symphony of taste sensations that showcases the chef's creativity and expertise. The staff's attentiveness and knowledge elevate the dining experience, making you feel like a cherished guest. LOVED the happy hour--especially the shishito peppers! The duck wings with pm seeds bbq was delicious as was the cheese with tomatoes. The Peri Peri shrimp was ok. The cocktails were also yum. Would love to return to try the chef's tasting.

Very close to Rittenhouse Square, Spice Finch is a Mediterranean spot in Philadelphia that’s perfect for a flavorful meal or even a productive work session if you’re me. We started with the chickpea wedges, which were crispy and incredibly addictive. The peri peri shrimp, served with a bold and zesty sauce, made me want to slurp as if it were soup. To complement the meal, I sipped on the rosemary old-fashioned. It was a unique twist on a classic cocktail. Be ready for all the flavors at this spot.

We popped in for a late bite after and museum gig and Spice Finch is a new favorite! We ordered a bunch of shareable mezze and small plates and there wasn’t a single disappointment! The beets were our favorite with the fried rice cake a close second. Wow! The ambiance was cool and moody and while the table and bench seating were great, I’d sit at the lovely bar next time.

This is definitely a relaxing place to enjoy creative and delicious small plates. Their dishes provide many different combination/dressing/seasonings so it's fun. They are very colorful too. Do let the waiters explain to you on their dishes, and take a minute to appreciate their wallpaper. I love their "blistered shishito peppers" and many other dishes. This is a place I definitely want to come back.

We went for Valentines Day, albeit a couple days later. Really enjoyed this restaurant. I was a bit worried that maybe it had an overhyped but I was wrong. We got there and everyone was friendly and helpful, loved the look, it gives off the Mediterranean vibe they are going for. We had blistered shisito peppers (love them, any where I see them I ordered them), very good with the harissa. The helloumi gem salad was good although a bit overdressed. Loved the Turkish tuna. The Nwassar pasta not sure what that means but super tasty, loved the deep mushroom flavor. Bread was charred how it should be. Drinks were well crafted. Worth a trip.

I ate here and enjoyed the food and hospitality. I was weary from travel and the staff were welcoming and looked after me. Food was very good and atmosphere was a busy Saturday night feel without being crammed full of loud groups.

You finish shopping, and it's after lunch but before dinner; what and where do you eat in the 17th and Walnut Street area? We see and stop at Spice Finch, a Mediterranean restaurant. A tremendous little healthy menu: Appetizers: Warm olives and Fruit (figs) and Feta cheese Small plates: Steak Kabob and Peri Peri Shrimp Just enough nutritional bites until our next destination

S

We had the whole fish and mushrooms Nwassar pasta to share. Both of them are excellent! They took the fishbone out and stuffed slides of lemon inside, which makes the fish tasted really good. The mushroom pasta here isn't those traditional one people usually have in the Italian restaurant. It's modern mushroom pasta! Really flavour. The dining experience with the internal design is very enjoyable.

A great restaurant attached to the Warwock Hotel. Mediterranean themed with a North African accent, I have had two great experiences here. The menu is laid out for small plates to share. The dishes are well portioned and there is good variety. While other notable Philly restaurants love to lather on the butter and oil, Spiced Finch dishes are well balanced and routinely delicious. It's a winner

The food was pretty good. Some of my favorites are the triodips and Olive oil cake. The lamb kebab was a little bit salty and the bread was on the oily side. The service was quick, but the price was a little on the high-end.

Went for dinner with a group of friends on a Friday night and it was the best meal we had in Philadelphia! The sharing plates were amazing and the waiter gave such good and helpful recommendations we felt in very safe hands. Lots of creative and interesting cocktails that tasted great and a solid wine menu.

Spice Finch has become our go-to spot for hosting business dinners of all sizes — from intimate groups of 10 to larger gatherings of around 30 people. Their menu is outstanding, with a wide selection of dishes that accommodate all kinds of allergies and dietary restrictions. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is exceptional. The staff are incredibly considerate, professional, and flexible. On one occasion when our table was delayed about 45–60 minutes due to a previous reservation, the team went above and beyond by offering complimentary appetizers and ensuring our group was comfortable and well taken care of. Another time, we reserved for 23–26 people but ended up with a group of 30 — and they still managed to accommodate us seamlessly. Highly recommend Spice Finch for its great food, excellent service, and warm ambiance. A perfect choice for business dinners and special occasions!

Went as a large party and did the tasting menu. Absolutely fantastic, every dish had its own distinctive seasoning and flavor and every dish among the several courses was a stand out. The staff was attentive and the whole vibe and experience made for a great evening. Highly recommend!

Moving my reviews over from Yelp. Haven't been back to Philly since this one was written in 2019: This was a great find that my aunt came up with for dinner during my visit. A perfect choice if you're after a leisurely dinner with a lot going on. Personally, that's my thing. If you're a "gimme a bottle of A-1 with my steak" person this may not be the best choice for you. We ordered a variety of dishes and shared everything. All represented a virtual explosion of flavor and were executed flawlessly. Standouts were the blistered shishito peppers with harissa & tahini as well as the peri peri shrimp. Best bite of the night goes to the charred octopus. I am a huge sucker for a good charred octopus!

The food was delicious and the service was great all in a very cozy environment. They accommodated a table of us with all different food allergies and sensitivities. I would return any time to introduce others to this restaurant for the food and service.

The food was delicious! My boyfriend and I did the chefs tasting. It was delightful. The drinks were great, too. The bartender was so sweet, and our waiter was the best! I forgot his name unfortunately, but he was so attentive and kind. The restaurant overall is a great atmosphere. Will definitely come back! Amazing food and service. Perfect for any occasion.

6 of us went there, unfortunately none of us took pictures, but we had the whole fish, the baked eggplant, the chickpea wedges, the baked/smoked beets, shishito pappers, and several more small dishes. We absolutely loved sharing those dishes, each one of the excellent! It was a long after-conference dinner and by the end of the evening each has overeaten. We were shocked by how reasonable the bill was at the end too. We loved this restaurant and would absolututely visit again when back in Philly.

Spice Finch has a beautiful ambiance—modern, warm, and inviting. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, and the customer service was excellent from start to finish. Although we experienced a minor mishap during our visit, the manager handled it professionally and went above and beyond to make things right, which truly stood out. That level of care and attention made a lasting impression. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I would definitely return and recommend it to others.

It was a good experience, but i just went to Her Place, so it is hardbfor me to give this place a 5 star. I think Google should increase to 10 point system! Overall great food, nice flavor but nothing wowing.. i liked eggplant a lot. Now I am inspired to make morneggplany dish. I loved the peri peri shrimp. I liked it so much forgot to take a photo. The shrimp was great texture. Asparagus was good, especially the sour mushroom on top. I will use more lemon in my cooking now too. I did not like the steak small dish. The meat was dry and flavorless.. The service was good. They are very anxious to clean my table, keep asking if i am done.. it was very interesting. Final verdict: you should try!

Spice Finch is a pleasant and inviting Mediterranean restaurant just outside of Rittenhouse Square. Over the course of our evening we enjoyed the chef's tasting menu, and while everything tasted good and there's nothing specifically I can criticize, there was also very little that was exceptional or memorable. It just consistently decent. When we told the waiter that we wanted the chef's tasting, we were informed (maybe even warned) that it would be a LOT of food and it was not an exaggeration. The variety and quantity of dishes was borderline comical, and for $59 a person we absolutely got our money's worth. I think that's what I enjoyed about the experience was the opportunity to try so many different things off the menu, from starters and small plates to proteins and desserts. Our first course was a trio of dips (hummus, yogurt, and one other I couldn't identify), a pita, a basket of crackers, a large plate of tabbouleh, and then some chickpea fritters. The standout was the tabbouleh which was fresh and vibrant, while the dips were nice but none particularly stood out. The second course was a skillet of cheese with tomatoes and herbs which was rich and decadent, and some shishito peppers with a tangy sauce. My favorite item was probably the grilled shrimps in some sort of tomato sauce which to me was maybe the one item I was served that was really exceptional. The main course was a choice of either whole black bass or lamb shank and we chose the bass. It was very simple and nice, and the skin and sauce were flavorful but many bites were a touch bland. Again, I enjoyed it but it was the sort of dish that I wasn't going to remember. Dessert was a brownie and ice cream, which tasted like a pretty standard brownie out of the box (in a good way?) and there were dessert dates that had way way too much lemon in them. Finally, I'll comment on the "wine pairing" that we added to the tasting menu. For $25 you can add three wine pairings to the tasting menu and for a price like that we weren't expecting too much... and it pretty much met those expectations. Like our overall experience, it added some nice variety at a reasonable price but the wines weren't that good. I would probably suggest cocktails or glasses of your choosing. Overall, we had a pleasant evening and enjoyed our dinner! At the same time, I don't anticipate being anxious to go back for more immediately. If I did, it would probably be for a happy hour at the bar, as I very much liked the atmosphere and setup of the bar.

This restaurant has been on my list for a while now. Finally, there's an event coming up, and I'm so excited to try it! They serve mostly vegetarian dishes here. Here’s what we had: Broccoli Tabbouleh: So fresh. It’s healthy but tasty at the same time. Blistered Peppers: Shishito peppers- sweet and a kick of spicy. Baked Cheese and Roasted Cauliflower: Both were a bit too sweet for my taste but still good. Persian Rice Cake: Don’t order this; it has no taste. Shabazi Fries: These fries are so good and addictive, seasoned with some type of salt. Chicken Kabab: The meat is tender and flavorful, paired with a delicious sauce. Watch out for the chili pepper—it’s spicy! Skirt Steak: Cooked perfectly and tender, with a bonus of fresh cucumber and spiced cashews. I love their dessert—custard cake and brownie topped with ice cream. So soft and so good. The service is good, but the food came out very slowly. It was a Tuesday night, so I'm not sure why they were so busy. The restaurant has a romantic vibe, good for couples, with dim lighting. Overall, everything is great!

Great Tapas experience with a easy going vibe. Lots to share with friends/family. Very nice but limited wine list. Delicious cocktails I tried the Precious Flower, with nice mezcal smoky notes to go with the Mezza and Small Plates offerings. Our favorites were the Baked Cheese, Scallops, Chicken Kabobs, and Duck Wings. It's all about various flavor profiles here. Absolutely enjoyable experience with attentive staff. Definitely will be back again.

Spice is a Mid Century Modern styled Mediterranean restaurant that includes a menu of high quality food options. The atmosphere is very comforting. Somewhat dimly lit with lots of wood accents that inspire a soft and romantic mood. They have the ability to acommodate both small and large parties. We came with a group of 8 people and the large bench seat + table setup did not have us feeling cramped at all. The food was all very high quality. They have a variety of dishes that include seafood options and chicken laden with spices. The portion size was not very large, but they also were not small. It leaves just enough room for dessert. Expect to spend about $50-60 per person for a drink and an Entree. The prices are on the high side compared to comparable Mediterranean places. The service was a little slow to take out intitial order, but quick and courteous for the duration of dining.

Did Spice Finch during restaurant week: modern design with a lovely, dimly lit ambience. The staff was wonderful, especially our server Katy who was attentive, informative and energetic. The cuisine started with an unfortunate stumble, the complementary dips with crudité(sliced cucumber, watermelon radish and beets…that was cool) and dreadful bebere crisps…those crisps were so HARD, they could CRACK a tooth! When we informed our server of these diabolical bread chips, she immediately replaced it with a soft flatbread which was enjoyable. The duck wings: Delicious. The chickpea wedges…I don’t remember… but they must’ve tasted good because they vanished quick! The blistered shishito peppers: a lovely smokiness and mildly spicy(there was one rebellious hot pepper that ambushed my husband’s tastebuds). Wished there was a little bit more drizzle of dressing. The Moroccan steak: Perfectly cooked medium rare and flavorful, the thinly sliced frites were nice. The whole Bronzino fish: awesomely tasty, a dazzle of mixed herbs, crispy skin, perfectly tender on the inside(and 95% deboned, so eat slow and savor your food!)… This beautiful fish didn't deserve its unworthy sides: the rice was blah, cold/undercooked, and the pickled onions were pucker super-tart with no balance! Finished off with dessert: the date truffles were dense and perfectly sweet(I should have had with a cup of tea)… the Halavlah brownie was good, I wish I could've been a smidge bigger. Staff: FIVE stars Berbere crisps: HALF Star! Appetizers: four and 1/2 stars Entrées: Five stars Entrées’ Side dishes: three stars Dessert: four stars Overall dining experience that evening: FOUR STARS. Tons of restaurants in the city, but Spice Finch is a worthy adventure… I hear the happy hour is lovely…we may return for the memorable steak and fish. PS: need to use the restroom? That is a holy grail journey in and of itself… one has to leave the restaurant, go through the hotel’s lobby and then some, to find the bathroom. Just FYI.

Seated for brunch outdoors - food was good, nothing extraordinary. Service was slow and muddled, felt like we didn’t see our server for 15 minutes at a time. Food is all intended to be shared but it is pricey for how much you need to order to have a fulfilling meal. Cauliflower, baba and fries are good apps. Merguez kebab is flavorful as well. Tahini brownie is a must get dessert. Did not try any drinks

Nice and cozy hotel restaurant. I only dropped by for a quick dinner before going to sleep but the recommended Moroccan Steak Frites was marvelous. Very nicely spiced (albeit a little salty in spots for my palate), with nuts and cucumber to provide a little freshness, tender meat beautifully grilled and a generous bowl of seasoned fries.

A
Attie Heunis

Exquisite food and a very cozy atmosphere. An easy 5-stars if the server just understood a little bit about friendliness and server etiquette. Standing arms crossed and not checking in was maybe some inexperience, but it was a mark against an otherwise superb evening. Will certainly be back.

For no particular reason, it had been a couple of years since we visited Spice Finch. We were not disappointed with our return. There is a reason ‘spice’ is in the name and flavors of their dishes show it. From the Persian rice, trio of spreads and their grilled eggplant the flavors impressed us and we will return for. The Fattoush was lighter on flavor and did disappoint as a baby kale salad with less than expected flatbread and chunks of squash. The broccoli tabbouleh, while flavorful had a distracting creaminess (maybe too much dressing). The service was just as we like, attentive but not overly so, polite and not rushed. Nice low lighting in spacious room with small lamps brought to the table to assist reading menu then removed if no longer needed. All in all, we enjoyed our evening thanks to great flavors and service.

Brought my fiancé here last night for what was supposed to be a birthday dinner. I made the reservation on Resy and specified it was for a birthday occasion. However, it was never mentioned by any staff while we were there. We both agreed the food was “good” but nothing extraordinary. The sides of rice we were served with our main course were the worst part. No flavor to speak of. We did not finish them. As you can see, the one bowl is just plain rice with a dab of butter on top. It didn’t have any notable seasoning whatsoever. They also put wilted sprigs of parsley on top of everything, which is frankly, embarrassing. It’s safe to say we won’t be recommending Spice Finch or returning. Our first experience already said it all.

r

Food wasn’t bad but def 50/50. Would recommend the broccoli tabbouleh (citrusy, fresh refreshing) and the baked cheese was good too. The cauliflower was kind of soggy and the texture wasn’t great, the pasta was bland and weirdly sour. The shrimp didn’t taste fresh, and the shakshuka was very salty. Everything else was okay nothing spectacular but not bad either

We decided to dine here, since it was supposed to rain that evening and it is located right inside the hotel we were staying at. We checked in at the hostess table, and advised we did not make a reservation, which I guess is best in their eyes. After a quick glance, the hostess had us seated in the far front right corner of the establishment. The decor was very settle and nice. I might have to copy some of ideas for my backyard patio. The price point ranges from $20 and up for most entrées. I needed something hot and ordered the mint tea; enjoyed that they served fresh mint tea leaves. Hubby ordered an iced tea (unsweetened). While we were overlooking the menu, hubby was not too thrilled with the seating due to the vent was dripping water upon him, so we asked if we could be moved. And quickly we were seated diagonally to the other side. But to my discovery, no one didn't check or cleaned up that section in a minute, since I had to remove a whole spider and it's web from the corner of the bench. And would've took off another star because of that. After we settled into our new section, our server took our orders. I do not remember what hubby ordered first, but it was not bad. The item included sliced cucumbers, radishes, and beets along with pita chips, served with a yogurt sauce, and two different types of hummus. I liked the pea hummus. I ordered the Peri-Peri shrimp and hubby ordered the lamb kabob. I did read a few reviews, but wanted to be hopeful that there would be more to the dish. To my surprise, the reviews did not lie.... for the serving and cost for the food, I expect at least a starch or some vegetables to go with our meal. My dish was mostly sauce served on top of the 6 pieces of shrimp stuffed in the shrimp shell, for the amount of sauce left, some saffron or Jasmine rice and some vegetables would've made this meal complete. Even hubby's meal lacked a side. Now, we did like the ambiance, however the noise level was a bit bothersome. There was a large table that was on the other side of us, but the two ladies that were seated after we were moved, do not know the meaning of inside voices. The flavors were just okay, nothing to sing about. Overall, you will spend a hefty change for a main course with no sides, but you have to pay for it.

A
Alexander Shypula

my experience was really mid, some dishes we ordered were pretty good: the duck wings and the cauliflower notably. Otherwise, I ordered the lamb shank and it was seriously mediocre: it tasted flat, a bit too vinagery, and the texture felt like it was not cooked at the right temperature (a bit dry, almost as though it were cooked in an overcrowded pan/oven but also at too high a temperature to get a good fall off the bone braise). The vegetables with the lamb also were really underwhelming: lacking richness. We also had the beef kebab which had a similar issue. I can only imagine i could replicate the veggie experience by bulk cooking veggies without allowing a good sear/caramelization/maillard reaction. Really surprised because the service is solid and the ambiance is great.

B
BMP

Loud and noisy atmosphere. Lacks warmth. Service is okish. Staff is not very friendly except for few. Lacks in refilling water n picking used dishes. As for food, the chef's choice mezze truly bstands out besides the chickpea fritters. The only two things that is their saving grace. The whole fish is ridiculously expensive and not worth the bones n stuff you get for $68. The steak frites which is also $48 is a cheap cut of skirt steak which is served with cucumber n not so well done frites. Glad we did this during restaurant week and could taste this all with $45 cause it's definitely not worth their regular menu. The dessert of date truffles is one of the worst dessert ever, ever. It should not even be allowed to be served. It is tart, sour and simple disgusting. The tahini brownie is a regular brownie nothing to write much about. Overall this is definitely a place that we would never, ever return.

T
Thomas Stevens

Painfully slow service. I sat at the bar, the 1 bartender was overwhelmed. Shame on the restaurant for not staffing correctly. I ordered the Beef Kabob. Was curious to see how that came out before ordering an entrée. It was over cooked, dry and under seasoned. Weird because the restaurant is called "Spice" Finch? Idk how u can get a simple beef Kabob wrong? It's easy. I didn't stay for dinner and left. Lesson learned.
