Wow! A legit BBQ joint in NE Philly! Had a great meal here with my friend B, pulled pork, kielbasa, collard greens and mac n' cheese. Everything was tasty, fresh, and obviously prepared with love. Greens had just a hint of heat that really set them off. Went mid-afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. Not crowded and great service. Ramp to entrance for wheelchair access, roomy bathroom. Thanks for the great meal!
Sweet Lucy's never disappoints. We came for "linner" before the Flyers game. Our brisket platters were delicious. Meat was very tender with just enough fat but not too fatty. I prefer it with au jus, husband likes bbq sauce. Both were excellent. Husband had the smoked hot wings. Tremendous flavor and pretty darn hot. (Stick with mild if you can't handle hot). The grilled mixed veggies side was really delicious but the brisket was so good I should have skipped the sides and had a pound of brisket instead of 12 oz. Next time...
Food was amazing i had mixed reviews going in but baby i'm glad i came food 10/10 in they got this cinnamon butter omg so freaking good.
This place NEVER disappoints! Best BBQ around. Not only do all of the meats have incredible flavor but don’t skip the homemade desserts!! Mouth watering! The pickle bar is also a fun touch.
Absolutely phenomenal! Brooke, her husband, and now the whole family are doing an outstanding job. This is hands down some of the best food you can find on this side of the coast—maybe even anywhere in the US! We’ve never eaten better. The flavors, the care, the atmosphere—everything is just perfect. What truly sets Sweet Lucy’s apart is not just the incredible food, but the warmth and dedication of the people behind it. You can taste the love and passion in every bite. It’s rare to find a place that feels like home and serves food that could win awards. We can’t praise everyone at Sweet Lucy’s highly enough. Keep doing what you’re doing, because it’s truly something special!
Unique but not totally unfamiliar feeling. Place was super clean from the front door to the bathroom to the back of the dining room. Very spacious - was there mid day Saturday Memorial Day weekend. Maybe 50% capacity when I was there. Turnaround from ordering to food arrival on table was less than 5 minutes. Self serve fountain drink, BBQ Sauce, and pickle stations. Parking lot has plenty of room and street parking seemed plentiful
Food was great we waited to be seated about 5 minute's. But other wise all was well.
So glad I came here yet again !!! My food was carefully deliciously made The atmosphere and the bartender was extremely amazing omg I love it here especially winter months guys if you know you know the summer is packed LEAH HONEY THE BARTENDER VERY EDUCATED SWEET AND ATTENTIVE
Some of the best southern food I’ve ever had. They have really nice table of side and condiments that are free game. Recommend the cornbread Mac and cheese pulled pork sandwich (and sandwich) and the sweet potatoes (everything I got).
We ordered takeout from here! The food was delicious. The only thing we didn’t care for was the shredded chicken. Everything else was good!
I finally found an amazing BBQ spot in Philly—Sweet Lucy's! I heard about it through the Food Network and Chef Alex. We placed our order online this time, but we'll definitely dine in next time because the ambiance looks great. The staff was super friendly, and we didn’t have to wait long for our pickup. We ordered two "Double the Fun" plates with brisket, kielbasa, pulled chicken, and an extra pound of kielbasa. All the meats were fantastic, especially the kielbasa, but what really stood out were the sides and dessert. The mac and cheese and creamy spinach were our favorites, but the mashed potatoes with gravy and collard greens were just as good. The cornbread was excellent—definitely a must-try! The chocolate chip banana bread pudding was flavorful and absolutely scrumptious, while the s’mores pie was also pretty good. After the meal, we were so stuffed we practically passed out—it’s been a while since we’ve eaten like that! We can't wait to come back and try even more. IG: journey_man16
I love this place. Foods always good, staff is great, places is always clean. Ribs and brisket are awesome. The smores pie is delicious to finish it off! Love the they offer so many things on the side. (Pickles, peppers, honey butter, ect) mac n cheese is the best I've ever had.
I got the 1/3 rack ribs platter (spicy bbq sauce) with the sides of coleslaw, Mac&cheese, and cornbread! It was ALL really good for the most part. Cornbread was the star. Ribs had great flavor. Mac&cheese was nicely baked. Coleslaw was okay for me, so probably would try something else. Also got the chocolate chip bread pudding and it tasted like marshmallow which was interesting. The whipped cream was fresh and a nice addition to the pudding.
It was my first time here and definitely will not be the last. I ordered ribs, chopped brisket, garlic mash, and collard greens. This is hands down, the best bbq spot in northeast Philly. Everything was seasoned PERFECTLY. I cannot wait to go back.
From the outside it looks like an old deserted factory. It’s very cool, cozy, kid friendly, huge indoor tables and booths. So, it’s plain but the food is so good. I got a platter of Pulled BBQ Pork and it comes with 3 sides. I choose Mac & cheese that was great and a small side of Chili, and Baked Beans. The food was awesome . Dessert was Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding which was also good. I tried almost everything and everything was great. A must go too! Wheel Chair accessible, they also serve alcoholic beverages. Very casual.
We both agreed that if we lived closer to this place we'd have a serious problem! The food was excellent, well seasoned and the pairings were very complimentary. We got the wings, chicken po boy and salmon po boy with potato salad and veggies. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again!
Always my go to place before seeing any shows at the Union transfer. Comfort BBQ food delivering amazing service sizes, great for sharing plates with friends. Everything is always consistent and service is topically very quick. Great atmosphere for any type of crowd. You can smell this place from a mile away.
So by your suggestion I tried the Philly Steak I must say it too was very tasty. I was however a little disappointed in the size. If it was a hole sandwich fine. But it was only a half. And there wasn’t enough meat to match the bread.as you can see in the pic. I don’t mind paying for the good quality but quantity is important also. After finishing my only thought was wow that was good but I wish I had the other half to my sandwich Brisket sandwich. Unbelievably good
Just like I remembered it ! Delicious 😋 I hadn't been here since pre pandemic Probably 2015 or 16.. But I have been a long time customer since 2002 . My son's and I attended a 21st birthday party for the Davidson Family 👪 tonight . It was great to see everyone . I have a video of the catering and Jen was our amazing 👏 hostess ! She was so helpful, attentive ,friendly and you can definitely tell she has a servants heart ❤ Everything was fresh and there was enough room for dessert too. I had the salmon ,mac n cheese ,cornbread 🧀, tomatoes and cucumbers and a side of sweet mashed potatoes. I don't ear beef, but the brisket looks so good I tried a tiny piece and it was delicious 😋. We all stayed until about 9 ,literally so much laughter ,smiles, conversations and goof energy.! Great job Ellen and Barry 💯💯👉🏽 A great place to host a party 🥳 Happy birthday Matt ! We all love you 😍
It’s been years since I ate here, but The father’s say buffet was great. So many options, and they were all delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Food was amazing!!!! Ordered ribs, delicious!!!!! Brisket was good, little too dry though… chicken great flavor and little dry. Great people!! Extremely nice and friendly! Food was served fast! Definitely will come back! Also great atmosphere. Party of 3
I highly recommend hiring Sweet Lucy's to cater your wedding! We hired them to cater our 200 person wedding and they were absolutely incredible (full service catering). Ali helped us with every step throughout the process, she consistently went above and beyond to create our vision - she even walked through the venue with us to map out the buffet/cocktail tables and helped us figure out quantities for our rentals. The food was AMAZING - we had guests from all over the country who raved about it. Our wedding was over 3 weeks ago and I'm still hearing about how delicious the food was. This was our easiest and best decision for our big day!! We can't take credit for the idea though, we attended a wedding years ago that had Sweet Lucy's and we decided at that time that we would have them for ours (we were not even engaged at the time). We are forever grateful for the opportunity to have them cater our wedding. If you're thinking about it... DO IT!
This BBQ was crazy-good! Our group of Australians was giddy with excitement to try an authentic USA BBQ experience, and Sweet Lucy’s delivered to a tee. Of all the meals we had stateside, this is the one we talk about the most, still. We came for the buffet - and left rolling out the door, belts fully loosened. They had it all - pulled pork, brisket, chicken… even salmon! Proper sides like collared greens, corn, salads… and some real hearty desserts too! We loved how unpretentious and generous it was. Thank you Sweet Lucy’s, you delivered one heck of a memorable meal to a bunch of hungry Aussies!
I came all the way from Uptown/Mt.Airy to try the well mentioned food they serve and I tell you DELICIOUS, the mashed potatoes and gravy 10 creamy spinach 10 salmon 10 BF brisket 10. I got my dinner for tonight for work and I'm please Thank You Sweet Lucy 😘
SO GOOD. Only pictures i could get because everything was already gone. We ordered 2 platters (1 brisket and 1 half rack of ribs), and got Mac and cheese, corn bread, cole slaw, garlic mashed potato’s, chili, a side salad, and the bread pudding. All phenomenal. Great prices for everything you get. And it arrived fast and hot via DoorDash. We can’t wait to check out the actual location soon!
If you haven't been here for BBQ you are missing out! What started out as a roadside BBQ trailer has turned into an open and expensive restaurant with a bar. The ordering is done where you walk in, there is ample seating with tables, including picnic tables. The food was awesome, the price was reasonable.
The food was the best barbecue I had in a long time. Nice quaint rustic atmosphere..... If you ever in the area, you must check it out, you will not be disappointed.
Food catered at my home. Delivery & set up was exceptional & the food was amazing! Everyone enjoyed it!
What a great spot for delicious BBQ and a huge event space. Super friendly staff, reasonable prices, and delicious grub. Didn't know about this place till a friend got me out here but now I'll stop in!!!!
Ordered for the first time ever through doordash. 10/10 experience. Got the pulled pork sandwich, mashed sweet potatoes, & the mac and cheese. I will be back in person next time because DAYUM this was bangin. edit: 02/06/2026 Just had the brisket sammy & 6 smoked wings. 10/10. I can't get enough of this. I'll be back!!!!!!
This is one of my favorites. So much so it puts my other BBQ options to shame. My only wish is that it was closer to home. Everything ive had here just hits. Ribs, wings, Mac and cheese, and dont forget about the smores pie 🤤🤤🤤 the staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy.
It was delicious! I had the brisket sandwich with melted Swiss cheese and carmelized onions. My 2 sides were garlic mashed potatoes, to die for and roasted veggies. I will definitely be back!
Very consistent tasty BBQ pulled pork, chicken, sliced or pulled brisket, BBQ salmon on Friday's. Nice selection of side dishes. Small bar and decent selection of beer. Takeout and dine-in service nicely done! Recommended and a short distance off of the Cottman Avenue exit of I95 8n north Philadelphia. On-site parking usually available.
Sweet Lucy's is my favorite BBQ in Philly, anytime I'm in the vicinity I make the effort to go there. The BBQ never disappoints, moist, incredibly smokey, perfectly seasoned. The sides are amazing too! Their mac & cheese is the gooiest, absolutely to die for. You can't go wrong with Sweet Lucy's!
Best BBQ around! Worth the drive. Plentiful portions, huge selection of sides. Each platter comes with 2 dides of your choice. Friendly staff.
Yummy food BUT i beg the establishment to stop using single use plastic. Food is served in take out plastic containers. Cups are plastic or standard pepsi cups all eating ware is plastic wrapped in plastic. Sauces are available in plastic containers. Create a dishwashing position , reuse plates and silverware, cups, only give take out trays when requested. Be part of the solution please :). In good conscious i cant come back cause I myself avoid using single use plastic .
Sweet Lucy's has always been a favorite of mine... I've been ordering from here for over 20 years. Their BBQ ribs are absolutely delicious. Always tender and falling off the bone. This time, though, I wasn't in the mood for BBQ... I just wanted some good ole fashioned comfort food. Sweet Lucy's came to mind. So, I ordered the baked turkey with mashed potatoes and their collard greens. I asked for extra, extra gravy on my turkey and extra gravy on my mashed potatoes. I was extremely disappointed when I got home and saw that I didn't get any extra gravy; not even a little bit. 🥺 All of that turkey with a drizzle of gravy. 😫😔 The turkey was very tender, but without enough gravy it started to be pretty dry to eat. I ended up having to use some of my husbands BBQ sauce to finish it up, (he got a rack of ribs). It was still tasty, but I really just wanted that gravy. The mashed were phenomenal, as usual. I wish the greens had some smoked turkey pieces in it, or maybe some cooked onions, but they were still pretty good. Ultimately, I feel like they're so busy, that they are starting to miss some things (like my request for some extra gravy), because they're trying to move the line. This place stays busy, and the lines long, but it's for a good reason! Their food is fantastic and their portion sizes are nice. I will definitely be back, but next time, I will check my food before I leave to make sure everything I wanted is there. 🥰
First time coming to Philly for a mini vacation. Googled bbq places near me, and found the restaurant. We traveled with kids. They saw the place and thought it looked sketchy (it's by a warehouse). When inside. Nobody tells you that you have to place your order in a machine. Then you take a number and food will be delivered to your table. The place looked clean and with many people. Customer service wasn't the best, I think maybe they were too busy. The food was delicious . The ribs where very tender and right amount of BBQ. The Mac and cheese was very creamy and plenty. They also serve alcohol on the bar side. Would like in the future a kids menu with more options.
Great service and solid bbq spot. With not many options options in The Philly area this is one of your best options. All the favorites are on the menu with plenty of combinations for any BBQ lover.
Authentic BBQ worth eating. You can sit at the bar for full service otherwise you order at the counter, take your number, and have a seat at a table (or order to go). For two adults we ordered the Quadruple by-pass with brisket, ribs, chicken wings, pulled pork, baked beans, baked macaroni and cheese, and cucumber tomato salad. Don't forget the corn bread. All the meats were cooked pretty well. We enjoyed the wings the most. The corn bread was pretty good too; it's moist and they even have butter and honey if you want to top it right. Each meat seemed to be flavored in a dry rub and a different flavor in each Bbq sauce. Customer service- the girl at the counter was pleasant and the guy cleaning up was nice. Not over the top cheery but good customer service and certainly not rude. Atmosphere- nice place with adequate seating. They could easily host a group, and by the looks of it they have an area in the back that you could use for parties/groups.
If you need some decent BBQ close to home ANY time of the year, this place is worth the trip. Not the best ive ever had, but nowhere in the neighboorhood of the worst I've ever had(Except the Mac and Cheese. I've had it twice and it was not good either time). Good food! Full service bar inside. Plenty of seating. Never overly crowded. Good portions in their meals. The menu of sides rotate so you may not always to be able to get what you're attached to of you visit again. Staff has been great. Never a service issue. 15-20minutes by Betsy Ross Bridge from Pennsauken, Maple Shade, Cherry Hill etc.
It was ok. We ordered take out from Here and the food was just ok. Not bad, but not as flavorful as I’d hope. The ribs were not falling off the bone. The baked mac and cheese was more like that velvetta cheese than like melted cheddar or gouda so it didn’t have the taste I wad hoping for. The mash potatoes were good. L
Sweet Lucy’s has great food. No matter what you get to eat, it’s fresh and it’s good. However, expect to wait for your food, especially if you order take out. The prices are higher than they used to be. Getting assistance from an employee can be hard. They are often busy or not focused on their job. The restaurant is clean, but the bathrooms need cleaning. The parking lot is hard to maneuver. Getting through to them by phone is difficult. They don’t answer or they hang up.
Placed an order for pickup that was supposed to be ready in 40min. Showed up 50min later to pick up. Had to wait an additional full hour in restaurant to get my food after asking 3 times for update (almost 2hr from order time -> ready). It was not busy. I will say the food was good, but I’ve never had to wait that long and employees seemingly ignored me when trying to ask about order status.
The food is not good! Only the BBQ Sauce is good and the chicken and the cornbread but the Mac and cheese nasty! The potato salad taste like vinegar, the brisket was tough and not season right … just wasted my money! Nasty
When I arrived to pickup, people made me wait on an order, where they clearly were not busy. There was some weird stuff in my Mac&cheese(probably some pot scrapping). Food was subpar. I questioned has food service gone down since I last went out?
Terrible experience. Food was excellent before but this was smokeless bbq. Cornbread and mash potatoes were good. Pulled chicken, pulled pork, Mac and cheese and Brussels were lacking flavor. I was so pissed off I went to the store bought chicken and smoked my own pulled chicken. Spot the difference in Smoke flavor look.
Very disappointed after hearing so much hype. First off there is no hostess to greet you and seat you. It took a few minutes for them to find a waitress to seat us. She didn't greet us, just took us to a table. She was rude and the service was not great. The seating area was a complete joke. It is tiny and we had to get up from the table so others could leave their tables. It was extremely crammed and uncomfortable to sit there. There are no free rolls or anything given to you while you wait. The meat was dry as a bone and salty. I've had way better bbq in Lancaster that actually fell off the bone. The cornbread had corn in it? And the two meat combo does not include brisket or ribs so I had to pay +$6 for that and it wasn't even a half rack, all they give you is 1/3 after paying all those additional fees. The water they give you tastes like nasty tap. Please get a britta filter or something. Overall wouldn't recommend.
Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse was a complete disappointment. My first DoorDash order (pulled chicken, ribs, and sides) was already subpar, but I gave them another chance thinking it might’ve been a fluke. Big mistake. The two full racks of ribs I ordered on 11/20 were extremely fatty, untrimmed, greasy, and barely had the spicy BBQ sauce I paid for. What little sauce was there tasted like plain tomato sauce. Me and my wife couldn’t even finish them — the fat pooled at the bottom of the container. We had to add our own BBQ sauce just to attempt to eat them. The brisket was basic, the pulled pork had no flavor, and the sides were terrible. Everything tasted rushed and low-quality. I’ve spent $50+ per order, and none of it was worth it, especially in today’s economy. No wonder people just cook at home. Colleagues and friends told me they’ve had similar experiences, so it’s clearly not just me. Kudos if you think this is good BBQ, but honestly even Famous Dave’s is better. ***Never ordering from here again*****
If I could give them a 0 star I would. I will be calling to speak to management. Food Items I paid for were left out. I am a 1st responder. I ordered my food through my Coworker to eat on rhe overnight shift. Brisket was left out of my order. I paid extra for it. Everything taste like vinegar. The sweet potatoes taste like cafeteria hospital food for someone with a restricted diet!!!! THE ribs are dry. Thanks Alot. And this is $38 worth of food!!!
