Security Office James is great. He is a joy at the front. He’s always polite and knows what he is doing. I was visiting on Sunday last week and he was great. He is an asset to the hospital. What ever he makes he should make more.
Security officers August and James are a asset to the hospital. They have help me beyond what they needed to do. The other security guard that are there they suck. Won't help you at all. All the nurses and staff at the hospital have been wonderful. If you need good coffee come to the coffee shop during the day
I was in the hospital for 4 days during Christmas for an emergency procedure and two individuals went above and beyond in taking care of me. Gabriella and Brandon made sure I had everything I needed to get me back on the road to recovery. Not to mention their bedside manner was exceptional and I am so lucky to have encountered these two. A big thanks to EVERYONE on the 5th floor that aided in my recovery!!
My mother has been a patient here two times in the last four months and has spent a total of 4 weeks these two times. The front desk security guards are friendly, professional and very welcoming. They make me feel like part of the abrazo family. Unfortunately my mother had to spend her 101 birthday in the hospital but her night nurse brought her a flower, balloon and cake. Staff members wished her happy birthday and the cafeteria sent up a beautiful charcuterie tray and a slice of delicious cake with a strawberry sliced on top to celebrate her. We are very impressed with the level of care and kind gestures that she has been receiving! Keep up the great work.
I had knee surgery at Abrazo. The team of nurses took very good care of answering my questions and seeing that I was comfortable. Had no idea how all this was going to play out. Last time I had surgery was 35 years ago for an appendix. Thank you RN. Corey Nevbauer. for your knowledge and care and RN. Andrew (thanks for getting the IV in on first try). Thank you RN. Carolyn for holding my hand for 3 minutes after the surgery as I woke up from anesthesia. Did not know I needed that. That for sure was a touch. God Bless as you all continue to impact others Lives💯❤️🙏🏼
My friend was admitted late Friday after being "treated" for not being able to urinate twice through emergency and sent home. He both times left with a lot of pain and lot af blood. Third time he came back that night he had to be carried inside through the emergency doors. He was septic, bloated, swollen, blood infection. On Sunday morning they had him stable & waiting for Monday so he could recieve surgery. I was with him every day since Sunday untill discharge on Dec 3rd 2025 I would like your hospital to be aware of the poor, neglect, conduct. Of the nurse Rae that he had on floor 3 on Dec 1st and Dec 2nd she was passive-aggressive. Any questions that were asked in regards to her patients health inside the room with patients consent. Her go to awnser was I dont know. Or at times it would be I dont know ask the Doctor. They were basic information that any qualified nurse should know. She was sarcastic and confrontational. On that note We'd like to thank all of her fello co/team workers nurses, tecks, students, surgery team, house keeping, meal services. Especially our amazing discharge nurse Selma! Excellent skills goes above and beyond. So Grateful that nurse Selma was there that day to guide us with Our discharge orders. That day I was walking in with anxiety just thinking about having to experience this with the most unprofessional nurse Rae. The concern here is the patient. Not being petty.
Took my mom to the ED and we were so impressed with the care she received. She was seen quickly, and the doctor and staff were incredibly attentive and thorough, making her feel comfortable and well cared for. The room was clean and calming. Very grateful for the excellent treatment she received!
Have been here for a couple of day, the service here is great. Combing here thinking my brother was going to pass away and having talking to Jim, August,James and Scott put my mind at easy. They are great for the hospital. They deserve a raise for everything they do. The nurses and doctors are wonderful also
The Doctors are super professional and saved my husband's life. Treated me also with broken hip update . Only complaint was one staff member was totally racist to our family's bestfriends because they were black . Other than that it's a great Hospital
Within 20 mins of my arrival I given a full physical and visual examination and xray aswell and in top of all that less than minute later was given my own nice clean comfortable relaxing room with a TV and remote. Everyone there were nice including the nice man that escorted me to my room was exremley respectful, gentle, and polite. I tried not to be intimidating as I normally do that sometimes when poeple first meet me. Overall a great experience better and much much faster than John C Lincoln Hospital
Absolutely lovely time getting surgery here! Nurse Mary was the absolute best part of the experience, as I was having full blown panic attacks she calmed me down and helped me in all the ways that matters in life with such genuine compassion. Thank you to all the wonderful nurses, doctors, and staff, you guys helped turn a scary experience into an absolutely caring, lovely, and fun environment! I hope you all get a raise!
I have been bringing nursing students to Abrazo Central for 3 weeks and we have had a fantastic experience! The staff have been amazing with the students, friendly and incredibly helpful. The security staff at the front entrance are terrific! They have gone out of their way to help us. A special thank you to James, Jim, and August! We appreciate you so much!
The morning security staff are exceptional! When I arrive at work they greet me with a smile. This sets the tone for my work day as I'm sure it does for other staff and visitors. I see them greet everyone with this kindness and welcoming attitude. Their diligence keeping a watchful eye on the hospital surroundings both inside and outside make me feel safe and secure. A big thank you to August, Jim, James, and Scott!
I had an incredible experience here with some very personable and compassionate nurses. The nurse Sandra on floor 2 was absolutely considerate and very kind in every interaction I had with her, made sure she was able to make me comfortable and get any needs met that I might have, went out of her way to be gentle and make everything go smoothly. I also had the pleasure of getting the nurse Jeanette on floor two who went above and beyond to spend extra time talking to me about things we both enjoyed and love, was always woken up gently by her for meds and was the most sweet, wholehearted soul. I appreciate all that Abrazo has done to make it smooth and comfy!
When my Mom was recently hospitalized in late December for over a week and had surgery, the nurses and staff on the 5th floor took exceptional care of her. Alicia, Imee, and Brandon went above and beyond to regularly check that my Mom was comfortable and had whatever she needed. I credit much of my Mom's recovery to the service and attention each one of them provided. The time they spent with my Mom made her feel as if she was their only patient which was certainly not the case.
I called at 8 am right when they open, to make a appointment, was one hold for 26 minutes! Then I was told I could NOT make appointment to be seen since I was in a car accident. I have new insurance this and lost my primary Dr. I was trying to become a new patient. WE DON'T DO CAR ACCIDENTS, I was told. What???? I am trying to establish a primary doctor. Call your car insurance I was told. What ??? Ridiculous.
My mother was brought in via ambulance to the emergency department at 9:30pm. They didn’t bother to update the family for over an hour. They ended up discharging her and let her pee all over herself in the ER waiting room for HOURS instead of trying to call me or my sister who are her emergency contacts. They left her in the waiting room with a UTI to just pee all over herself. Never again.
My mother was transferred here from California and it awful! My sister and I would call to get updates on our mom’s condition and they would transfer us multiple times just for them to hang up on us. If we were able to get through to a nurse the most we’d get was “well she’s fine” or “it’s the same from yesterday.” The case manager was just wanting to push her out as fast as possible even though my mother expressed she did not feel healthy enough to start being transferred back to facilities in California as it was multiple hours back and she had chest tubes and couldn’t even walk. On Wednesday the case manager told me my mom was being to sent to a facility in Yuma but it wouldn’t be for a while I asked to be kept informed if that changed and she assured me she would let me know. Today I called to get an update on my mom and they told me she was discharged at midnight and that she was at a different facility in Phoenix! I had to be transferred to three different people just to find out the name of this facility and transferred again to find out why she wasn’t transferred to Yuma and why no one let myself or my sister know and all I got was a “oh sorry about that.”
If you have a child, please don’t bring them here. This is the worst hospital I have ever seen. I should have read the reviews before come. Starting from the front office nurse and staff. They were so upset/ and irritated that my two year old was crying. No compasion towards kids, I was so judged by them I wanted to leave. Doctor said let’s monitor for 2 hours, after the two hours I told them if the doctor has nothing else we’d like to leave. The nurse said doctor told her 4 hours. They threatened me to report to cps if I do. Such a cheap shot.. using the rules to threaten a frightened mother by herself with her two year old. I left the hospital with a very generic aftercare sheet with no instructions to follow. Will absolutely never go back and definitely don’t recommend this hospital. Go at your own risk…
Worse hospital ever . Their iv techs are amazing . This hospital use to be really good but it went downhill. I literally pushed my call button and it took over an hour for someone to check in me. I felt so dirty when i left. The bathroom smells like urine.
My brother was transferred to Abrazo Central Campus from their Surprise facility. Abrazo Surprise had been wonderful to deal with, but Abrazo Central has been a nightmare. No one on the floor ever answers the phone. We tried in excess of 30 times. We finally got a pair of direct phone numbers for nurses on the right floor from other departments, but neither knew much about my brother's case. When it was time to discharge him, they refused to help arrange transportation even though they had moved him to a facility which was 30 miles away. When we were able to arrange transportation, it was 8pm. They discharged him without helping him get dressed so he left in a hospital gown. He had not been fed a meal since lunch. When I tried to get information through the patient portal, they had input the wrong first name so I couldn't get an account set up; it takes days to remedy that. The most positive thing I can say about this hospital is that they didn't kill him. As my brother lives in a residential care facility, it is critical that we know and understand all of the details regarding his stay and any required follow up. Providing discharge instructions to a driver is wholly inadequate and inappropriate given the level of care that he requires. Abrazo Centrals refusal to answer calls, to speak with us directly and to provide necessary information is inexcusable and amounts to elder abuse.
A doctor in the icu told me my husband had cancer without the actual testing being done. Nurses were fabulous there. But don't just take the doctors word for anything. Always ask for proof. They literally convinced me to pull the plug. I should have asked more questions and been smarter. But I believed the Dr. Thank God my husband is still alive and well despite the weekend icu doctor trying to play God.
Horrible service, embarrassing that they even call themselves a hospital. My girlfriend spent nearly 24 hours here where they didn’t provide food and I had to bring her food, forced her to stay and wait for an actually incompetent doctor to say, “you’re good”, and provided absolutely zero treatment throughout her stay. Staff is unprofessional, facilities are disgusting and unmaintained, and topped it all off with a $50,000 hospital bill to pay for all the (nothing) nonsense occurring. PLEASE GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Trying to treat yourself (no matter what it is) is a better option than going here.
October 18th my daughter's baby stopped breathing in his sleep and was brought to the hospital. The doctor came out to let us know they couldn't help him without any type of care in his eyes or demeanor. He shrugged it off like oh well next. After reading multiple reviews It seems like people go here to die. My daughter was harassed about the harvesting the baby's organs after telling them no multiple times. Then they told my daughter she had to go see my grandson and say bye all alone. Despite the fact that she was having a panic attack and about to pass out. They basically just said too bad until a black nurse spoke up and told them to come get him. Even she knew this was inhuman. This place should be investigated and shut down.
On October 13th 2024, my fiance and I walked into abrazo central campus together I came out alone. He was transported by ambulance, suffering from severe back pain and unable to urinate for hours. When I arrive at the hospital emergency room, the area was dimly lit and I cleaned, staff for standing in the hallway chatting about lunch while patients were waiting invisible distress. My fiance repeatedly told the staff that he needed to urinate and had not gone to the restroom all night. He was a tremendous pain and began begging for help. I went to the nurses station twice asking for someone to assist us. For over 30 minutes we waited while he cried out in pain. I finally asked if I could take him to another hospital, but they told me no because his bladder could rupture at any time. Eventually a nurse came in and released his bladder, but by then it was too late his condition had worsened. When they attempted to draw blood, they struggle due to what was later discovered to be a blood blockage. My fiance told her phlebotomist that he felt like he was dying. The responses laughter and the words old buddy you're not dying today not on my watch tragically he passed the very next day. To make matters worse his personal belongings his wallet. No one from the hospital has ever follow up or providing an explanation. A year later my heart still aches for the neglect and a different we experience at Abrazo hospital. I can't help but to wonder if the outcome would have been different at another hospital, or if being an African immigrant influence their care he received. As a Mayo clinic member and a former northwestern hospital patient in chicago, I have witnessed what compassionate professional clean healthcare looks like. We did not experience this at Abrazo. What happened as a Brazil Central was just the opposite, undignifying care. The family waiting room when in emergency care if a person is passing away look more like a prison waiting room then a hospital. What happened at that day at abrazo Central medical center on Bethany home Road was nothing less than poor healthcare. You check in, but you may not check out and neither may your loved one belongings. Today I'm still looking for his wallet, clothes and wedding band.
