Stop by if you can. It’s absolutely worth taking 30 minutes to enjoy a beer and burger on the deck. The views are stellar and the owner is one of the sweetest ladies! Great experience.

So tasty! I had the calamari, onion tower, ribs, clam chowder, and coleslaw. My family all had burgers, each one said they were great. Prime rib on Friday, $20 is a great deal! Great service, nice folks, pretty scenery. Will be going back for sure!

Left South Lake Tahoe in a white out blizzard to find bumper to bumper traffic so diverted our trip using highway 88. Fell upon this gem. Immediately upon entering you feel the cozy welcoming restaurant. We sat next to the warm wood burning stove. The creamy garlic chicken soup is rich & delicious. The burger selection is very large. We all ordered different burgers...each was cooked perfectly. We each gushed about how delicious it was! Portions so large 2 of us needed togo boxes. Great local artisan beer selection too.

Food was good and the waiter was very friendly. The view off the back is very nice, and the restaurant has a very interesting background, that is accessible to read about on the menu. Good variety of burgers and other foods.

Make it a point to stop by this little peace of delight. Great service, amazing chef, AMAZING FOOD! Portions will fill the hungriest person out their. If you need your food customized, they won't grudge you the least. I had one of their sandwiches made vegetarian by substituting the meat for eggs. Everything is made fresh, so take a minute to relax and chat with the friendly staff. Their menu is classic American. Ambiance is a 9 out of 10.

Cozy spot for great meal and beer. They serve some local microbrews and the chef is apparently fairly renowned in the area. Had an amazing tomato soup. Burgers on other tables looked incredible and reportedly were from some others we talked to. Friendly staff and patrons.

I had not been here in years till this last weekend. I guess the old owner has past and people bought it and remodeled . It needed it. Place looks great. Good Food great customer service. This place is in the middle of nowhere and I'm glad it is still there. They make really good Burgers 👌

Some of the best clam chowder I've ever had, great burgers for a fair price. Specials are usually awesome, fried pickles are whole full spears. Service is great and super friendly, and the regulars are fine folk! Best place to stop on the way from Kirkwood!

Was up on a vacation with friends and they took me there and I was beyond happy with the place staff is super friendly food is so good . I have never had fried pickles before . They were so dang good and had some onion rings also so good. I'm definitely going back very soon.

if your ever traveling through be sure to stop. i know i will. i just needed to jump on here and give a special thanks to nancy and her husband. we were traveling through on our way to carson city and our pup got a treble hook stuck in her nose, we stopped because we seen two trucks out front and although they were closed they still chose to stay and help us with our girl, as well as opening the door back up so i can use the restroom. some of the kindest people i’ve met in a long time, we will be back time and time again. thank you both again so much, it is greatly appreciated.

I found Ham's Station which was a roadside cafe out in the middle of nowhere. The positive reviews turned out to be more than justified with incredibly filling and satisfying burgers and soups. The difference between burgers from a real restaurant kitchen and a chain restaurant is not to be underestimated. I loved the authentic country atmosphere and friendly staff.

The refreshed deck is a great place to hang out after a day in the mountains. The bar used to be dank and dark and now it's pretty clean and nice. The owner seems to be adding some new cabins as well. The brunch is pretty typical and done well. I had the cheese mushroom omelet. Coffee is average. Although I didn't have any they appear to have a good selection of beers at the bar.

Best place to eat if you are traveling east or west on highway 88. Great food and lots of it, chef is top notch and the service is very good. This is a must stop if you are road tripping on highway 88 for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

We stopped at Ham’s in the middle of a two week road trip. It felt like we were at home with how friendly and down to earth the staff and owners are. Such a great family that took on restoring a great piece of California’s history. If we ever travel Carson’s pass again we will spend another night here. The food was great, cooked by Bob who came from a upscale restaurant past. We stayed till close and stayed right nearby and came back in the morning for breakfast. Awesome Bloody Marys were being made for a group of riders. My wife had a giant breakfast burrito that she had to pack half of. The biscuits and gravy were amazing. Bob put sausage and bacon in the gravy. The bartender, Jody is so kind and a pro, you’d swear you were being served by one of Vegas’s finest.

My wife said their clam chowder was the best she ever had. Better than the several we ate in Monterey and SF. Clams were very tender. Potatoes were soft. Try this place.

Best old fashion lodge restaurant/bar hotel Chief Bob is extremely education in his craft right away I said vegan and he began to offer expert advice what options their is for vegans I split food I just wanted toast and potatoes coffee and tea açaí. The Order is New York from the looks of it and what my buddy said is it’s really good. I love the potato’s very well made friendliest chief I’ve ever met and kind professional, very confident highly recommend this place if your looking for a great breakfast my stomach is very satisfied. Plus they have WiFi.

First time at Ham’s after a day skiing. Jodie was witty, funny, and very welcoming. The food was delicious and the beers cold. My dad and I really enjoyed our visit and conversation with Jodie. We will absolutely make it a ritual to stop by after every Kirkwood ski day.

Good little dinner on the way to kirkwood. The wait was a little long but they do have a bar 🤠

Had a French dip that was good but not delicious. The au jou wasn't very tasty. The potato salad was amazing.

This place was wonderful. The food was priced incredibly well. As an African-American woman who travels alone through mountain towns that are primarily white, I felt completely safe here and was treated very kindly by the staff. I ordered a patty melt and it was cooked to perfection. I ordered my meat medium and it was definitely medium. They source their ingredients fresh, and they have an excellent bourbon and whiskey bar. I highly recommend this place, especially if you are looking for a place to stop in between Tahoe and your final destination.

We recently stopped by Ham’s station on our way to Hope Valley. Great food and good service. We loved the beautiful Autumn colors. Always a pleasant drive this time of year.

Lovely athmosphere, passable food and great tunes, but service was incredibly long, no matter how nice the staff was. Can't excuse the 45 minutes I had to wait for my order to be taken. Given the wait and the cost, it woulda been faster and cheaper to drive to Jackson for steak and eggs.

As a local I love supporting local businesses. Breakfast was alright and I was a little disappointed being charged a fee for having our group of 8 checks separated. $11 for each separate check is a bit excessive. Also bathrooms are very gross and need to be cleaned.

Not impressed with this place. Our waitress was not very good, couldn't remember what we told her. Service was way to fast for what we ordered not fresh cooked. They just didn't seem to have it together. One thing the food did have flavor for being heated up. We won't be back. Won't recommend either.

As a local. I love this place. The owners are wonderful people, the service is great, the mixed drinks are great and the beer is cold. Over time I hate to say their burgers that they once made so well have shrunk and the quality has gone down. The clam chowder we loved to order has been so full of grit the last few visits we have stopped ordering it. This place is great for a great view and a good drink but unfortunately I don't know if the food can keep up to the quality they used to be at.

went on 2/23 with my family to find a nice sunday lunch, walked in and there was a family four who was already waiting for an hour for service. only one person seemed to be “working” and didn’t even greet us. that’s when we asked the family how long they were waiting for. worst place ever! please do not waste your time here

The waitress/owner, not sure what her role was but she was extremely rude. I asked if I could use their restroom, and she said it's for paying customers only, fair enough. I explained I'd happily order after due to a UTI causing me extreme discomfort.. and she just told me to use the bathroom on the floor and walked away. A simple "no, sorry" would've been way fine..

I didn't eat here. We stopped to use the restroom on a trip. The staff said the bathrooms were for paying customers. She said we could put a few dollars in the can and use the restroom. The bathrooms were so bad, beyond awful. I understand keeping the bathrooms for paying customers, but these were not in proper order for anyone.
