Food was absolutely amazing. We had Chef Nick "freestyle" for us and we could not have been happier. They were also very accommodating to my wife's dairy allergy which is not easy in an Italian restaurant. We will definitely be returning.
It was nice coming here for lunch. Our server was very friendly and recommended meal items of the day such as soup and a rotisserie chicken sandwich. I decided to try the rotisserie chicken sandwich which was amazing!!! I will definitely be back!
This experience was devine. The food was magnificent, as was the staff. It's a super friendly environment and every part of the meal was presented beautifully and without pretense. We had a very wonderful experience and I'm anxious and ready to return!
Fantastic food and bartender! The summer cocktail is so so so great! This is my first time in town, I definitely will visit this place again! We ordered Ricotta Gnocchi and Fresh Catch MP. Everything is fantastic!
Four people went here on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 just when they opened at 5 PM. We had a very skilled server and the food was excellent. One of the people in our group is gluten intolerant and he was delighted to see that he could get pasta and that the server was knowledgeable about whether any of the sauces contain gluten. We had the rigatoni and vodka sauce, the seafood hot pot, a small cheese pizza, and tagliatelle.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! We did the chefs menu with wine pairing for our anniversary and it was outstanding! It’s hard to pick our favorite course because they were all that good! Staff/service was great as well! Highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing! Food was great, and our server was the BEST!
1st visit and will definitely be back! The cauliflower dip is absolutely amazing (and I don't like cauliflower)! The Kale salad was bursting with taste! The chicken was excellent over creamy cornbread and the rigatoni with sausage and vodka sauce were both totally delicious! The Nero d'avola paired well and was great tasting.
The food was delicious, the staff were so polite and attentive. I had a beautiful dinner and will be back. We had reservations so no wait time.
Friendly service. Good neat balls. Skip the sweat potatoe pasta dish.
We had a great experience at Talia. Talia is one of the only Italian restaurants in Pittsburgh that has an authentic New York Italian vibe. The food at Talia is rich, creative and prepared with great skill. The best salad was fresh and flavorful. The meatball appetizer was very good. I loved the pomodoro sauce. The meatball mixture was good but not great (just personal preference). My Mom ordered the Mushroom Parmesan. This dish was exactly like Chicken Parmesan but meatless, of course. In place of the chicken Talia creates this dish with a Lion's Mane Mushroom. My Mom loved this meal. For my dinner I had the tagliatelle with braised pork sugo. The braised pork sugo is a rich sauce with large pieces of shredded, juicy pork. This was really, very good. I'd definitely enjoy going back here.
Great atmosphere, excellent service, and the food was fantastic! Got the roasted duck, and it was a perfect blend of savory spices and sweet sauce.
In town for a conference and went here twice. Once for lunch. Delicious. And once to host a happy hour for some of our clients and friends. We had an about 20 folks filling up the bar. Brandon and Jason served us at the bar with great recommended apps and enjoyable drinks. They kept the evening moving and delightful. Thank you again! Highly recommend.
Had a great time while I was in town for Anthrocon. The Chilean Sea Bass was great, as was the wedge salad. And a shoutout to our server, Rodrigo, who took great care of us! We’ll be back next year. :-)
It was a busy Friday night and we didn't have a reservation. We were happy to get a dining seat at the bar. The bar staff was engaging and knowledgeable about the entire menu. We completely enjoyed our appetizer, entrées and drinks. Talia has quickly become our go-to place for dinner when visiting Pittsburgh.
We ate here twice and it did not disappoint! The food is so delicious! The portions are huge! The service is great! Highly recommend!
Cannot say enough about the incredible food, drinks and service. The ricotta gnocchi was one of the best we've ever had. Sean made amazing meal and wine recommendations and was an fabulous bartender.
Wow, what a restaurant! The atmosphere is classy yet casual, the staff are amazing, and the food is phenomenal! Our server, Julie, really made our dinner even better and was so kind to provide my boyfriend and I a toast to celebrate our anniversary. We know one of the cooks, John, and we were really awed by the food: the taste, the presentation, and the quantity. I ordered the gnocchi and my boyfriend ordered the risotto and we left so stuffed we could barely move. The fresh focaccia was incredible (the dipping sauce!), as well as our drinks (Thyme After Thyme and Peaches). If I could give 6 stars, I would. Absolutely wonderful restaurant. We will be back!
Delicious food. Our waiter was so attentive and friendly. Very cozy and romantic perfect for intimate gatherings like dates or birthdays. Would love to return soon
Oh my, I loved this place. The food was incredible, the wine was wonderful. We ordered as a table to share and they were very accommodating. I loved the art and the overall vibe. Our server was phenomenal. Exceeded all expectations
What can I say, this place was great. Beautiful atmosphere, great food, and the Italian soda is killer. Hats off to the chef, every dish was amazing. When I'm in the mood for pasta, I'll be back!
Loved our dinner at Talia! The atmosphere was classy, cool and upbeat. The service was excellent from the hostess to the waitress. And our food was so delicious … I had the scallop risotto and my daughter had their pizza with gluten free crust. Love that they use the thin rim wine glasses … everything was top notch and I cannot wait to return when I’m back in town!
Amazing from the service to the meal. The small plate scallops on a puree of butternut squash was spectacular and the short rib cassaresse was delicious. We had a server who was training with our main server and it was like having 2 well experienced servers taking care of us. And did I say the pasta is made in-house???
What a pleasant place full of beautiful people and excellent service. My husband and I were in town for the hockey game, and we stayed at the Kimpton hotel across the street and seem so many great reviews so we thought to give it a try and so happy that we did. Brandon and Paris were very helpful and friendly they made us feel comfortable. The meatballs were amazinggg and I’ve had my first eggplant dish and it was awesome.
Amazing little restaurant on the corner by Hotel Monaco and William Penn. Visited night before the marathon and used OpenTable to make reservations. The octopus appetizer was delicious and perfect to share for two people. The cheese board was also very good. A nice selection of cheeses. The bread was a little to hard for my liking, but overall very nice board. The pastas were freshly made and the waitress told us they could do variations of them. The staff was friendly, the tables have fresh water that is kept at the table, and the atmosphere makes it feel like a New York hip and modern establishment. Only recommendation is not sitting by the door, as a draft comes through the revolving door. However, the hostess does an extremely excellent job of making sure it is closed. Make it a point to visit this place, I know I will be going back a second time!
So good it's on my return list. I suggest taking lunch at 2 pm.. by dessert you will have the place to yourself. Great interior and waystaff immaculate like ladies room and the food was superb. I had the Pizza Primavera with the grated cured egg yolk, the brussel sprouts w fennel and bacon and the no bake cheese cake with spiced sauted apricots and a perfect cappacinno. Right by Brooke's brothers and the new Kimpton hotel... Soo. Soo good
Single diner, great dinner I had the fresh focaccia and burrata cheese to start and the Berkshire pork chop for mains. I didn’t get a pic of the fresh strawberry juice soda mocktail which was delicious as well. Nice job!
Wow. I'd first ask for Michael to be your server. He's super helpful and extremely friendly. We started with a pizza that was one is the best I ever had. I then shared the porchetta and gnocchi. Both were done very well. I'm already planning my next trip there.
Italian is my favorite cuisine and I travel for work so I've gotten to try a lot of places and Takia is definitely one of my favorites ever. Food was flawless and my drink was amazing.
Talia was an absolutely perfect location for hosting a private event. We had our Rehearsal Dinner at Talia and we couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere. The staff, food, and drinks were all fabulous. Also, Melissa was incredible to work with, she made planning the event seamless. We 100% recommend having a private event at Talia!
First time at Talia and will definitely be back. Food was FANTASTIC. That Green Goddess dressing! Our server, Sydney was perfect combo of cheerful, helpful, mindful of when we were deep in conversation, observant, and wonderful with menu suggestions. Thank you for a very special evening.
We were in town from Canada and found this restaurant on Google. Our server John was absolutely phenomenal. He was accommodating and very knowledgeable on the food and wine choices. The food was delicious and the wine recommendations were on point. We will definitely be visiting here again when we are back in Pittsburgh.
Fantastic meal with excellent service. This is definitely a place I would go back to. I especially recommend the foccocia and burrata, absolutely delicious. Well done, and keep up the good work!
Welcome to Pittsburgh’s hidden gem. The food will blow your taste buds out of this world. If I could, I’d give the service 10 stars. We got to sit at the “Chefs table” and witness the magic. The kitchen was like an orchestra, flowing not rushing, and getting out of kitchen at perfect pace. Best Italian food since I was in Italy and my wife thinks it’s better than the food we had in Italy. Not to mention the price was very inexpensive for the quality. We ate at the Capital Grille the night before, our bill was almost triple, and the food was good but not to Talia’s level. Highly recommended and you won’t be disappointed.
This is a very nice restaurant in downtown, Pittsburgh. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Our server John was knowledgeable and friendly. You need to give them a try.
Fantastic experience. I had the rigatoni for dinner and the tiramisu for dessert and they were perfect. Reasonable prices, good service, and excellent food.
We ate here on New Year’s Eve. The bartenders were amazing and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious and I appreciated the suggestions from the staff on what to order.
The food was very good. Our group each ordered different Focaccia with dip. We tried the cauliflower, the burrata, and the strawberry robiolina. All three were good, but the cauliflower was the best. The bread was the same for each and very well made. You could go just for drinks and focaccia of you wanted to. My wife and I split the large wedge salad, which we both enjoyed. I ordered the mushroom parmesan, which was excellent. It's a lions mane mushroom breaded and fried like a chicken or eggplant parm over fresh made pasta and sauce. My wife ordered the double cut pork chop, which was good, but the BBQ sauce on it was similar to a sweet baby rays type of sauce. Although the sauce was made in house. My brother ordered the ricotta gnocchi, which was very well done. The pasta was homemade. It was a little salty and had a good fresh fish flavor. We all shared our dishes. If you're looking for a nice night out, this is a good place to go. Our server, Rodrigo, was extremely nice and very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks, plus he was attentive. He also gave my brother a dessert on the house for his birthday.
Not an extensive menu but decent options. Had a good buzz going early evening before 7pm. Cocktails were pretty good.
Talia has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The ricotta gnocchi was a fair portion for the price. The amount of seafood in the dish was a pleasant surprise. However, the dish was on the salty side. The white negroni was thoroughly enjoyable.
We ordered an Italian noodles on the special menu, romaine salad and porchetta. The noodles and salad are really good. The salad is one of the best I ever had. Porchetta is not as good as what we’ve expected. The skin is not crispy and it looks too plain. It tastes normal to me, like something can be cooked at home.
My wife and I were visiting Pittsburgh for a Steelers game when the hankering for Italian food struck! Talia was an excellent choice. The gnocchi were like a dream. The staff was friendly and helpful. Although I must point out--untoasted bread for the cheese plate is a party foul! But overall this place is good--I'd recommend if you're in the area and feel the need for pasta!
Great atmosphere, nice design. Good service. Food Looked good and was delicious. Hidden under the beet salad was the goat cheese, I think a bit too much but most ppl would appreciate it. If you’re in Pittsburg definitely eat here. ❤️🥂
The service and atmosphere are great to go and have dinner. I was a bit unlucky for my food selection. The wine selection is great at this place. My beat salad was just ok. Pizza was more like focaccia with a mix salad on top and some porchetta. It was not bad, it is just not my thing for a pizza. If you are at this place, don’t go for the pizza. Try the pasta instead.
Read several good reviews of this restaurant BUT our food was average at best. Flavorless soup, brick like gnocchi, nice butter lettuce salad. Service was timely and adequate.
The entire staff was so friendly. I didn’t like how they wouldn’t seat me until the other person joining me was present the restaurant wasn’t even packed. The food was not the best the aranchi is pan fried not deep fried and the veal was so over cooked I had to return my dish and it ruined my valenties day. It was so unfortunate.
My meal was awful. Too salty and am still thirsty. The waitress never asked how my meal was. She knew it was bad as I only ate about 1/4 of it and did not ask to take the remainder home. I would not recommend the food here.
Food was great, but it took a while to come out, and then they started aggressively rushing us out an hour after our reservation/seating time… Especially for the price, it didn’t feel like an atmosphere we could enjoy our food in
I started working downtown and I had heard good things about it and looked at the website and ended up with a loading error when I ended up where I thought the menu would be. I looked at the other options in the menu board and didn't see a menu. I walked across the street to see if I could look at a menu. A woman came over and I said that I wanted to look at a menu and she said they were close. I said that I was sorry, I should have specified that I wasn't there to eat... That I just wanted to look at a menu. That I heard really good things about the food, would like to try it soon, and recommend it to visitors who ask me for restaurant recommendations. She told me that I must have been on the wrong site. I said that I know how a website works, and no I wasn't. I asked if I could snap the menu pictures real quickly. She rolled her eyes at me. Gave me the menus and in a patronizing way, said let me show you how a website works. I said not needed and headed out. Based on that interaction alone I won't be back. I was excited to have a restaurant near that has a more European flare on hours and food, but even in France and Italy I don't get treated as dismally as she did here. Here's the menus for anyone who would like to patron Talia's for the good quality.
If you want Italian food. Don’t come here please. If you want overpriced Italian wine, by all means this is a lovely little bar tucked away and some fun atmosphere. Just don’t order the food… Ordered: -Arancini (it is one large patty that is dry) -Chicken marsala: It legit tastes like broccoli and beef from an asian restaurant somehow… Great staff and lovely atmosphere but wasted way too much money on barely edible food
