Our favorite sushi place. Flower, 44 roll (after taste is a spritz of lemon), Himalayan (cucumber base with fresh fish on top), and Dallas roll (so buttery, melts in your mouth). Each unique with amazing different flavors. Other places just don’t compare. I’m ruined on sushi because of this place.
Sincerely one of the best sushi rolls I’ve eaten. Shoutout Sean for the excellent service and food. Kudos to the entire staff as well. Royce rolls are a delight!
I came here with my girlfriend and it was amazing quality at a fair price. It was my idea to order the Caesar Roll, and it was the best sushi we’ve ever had. Her ideas were pretty good too, but mine was the best. She’s a lucky girl!
Michael, the assistant manager here truly sets the standard for excellence. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care for both guests and staff make dining here a consistently wonderful experience. You can feel the difference when someone takes pride in what they do, and Michael does exactly that. He goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps us coming back. Signed most sincerely, Valerie H. Of Family First Comfort HVAC
Love this location of my favorite sushi restaurant chain in DFW! Super fresh fish and superb service. Josh with the mustache took great care of us last time we were in. He recommended some nigiri appetizers that were a game changer. Cocktail menu is also not to miss here!
We absolutely love Oishii and keep coming back for a reason. The food is consistently fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and always hits the spot. But what really sets this place apart is the service. Josh has been our server multiple times, and every single visit he treats us incredibly well. He’s attentive, friendly, and makes the experience feel welcoming without ever being overbearing. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure guests have a great time. Amazing food, amazing service, and an all-around great experience every time we visit. Highly recommend—especially if you’re lucky enough to have Josh take care of you!
Had a great sushi lunch here. We sat at the bar and it was great getting a front seat view of the sushi chefs. Menu has all of your standards but also lots of inventive specialty rolls. Everything we had was delicious and made with an expert touch. The Himalayan roll was a standout. Not cheap but we'll worth it! Can't wait to go back!
I felt like eating sushi the past Tuesday afternoon while in the Frisco area. There were many results when searching maps for sushi restaurants. I was glad I chose this restaurant. The service and food were phenomenal. From the outside it appears as if the restaurant is slow or a bit unappealing but once you enter, it’s the complete opposite. Extremely busy restaurant with a very upbeat and lively ambiance. Everyone seemed friendly and the elderly couple who sat next to me at the sushi bar weee so friendly we conversation for our entire dinner. You would think we were dining together. Josie my waitress was amazing with her service and her recommendations were on point. The cocktail was delicious so I had two of them. The sushi rolls were also tasty and flavorful. I had one of the rice-less rolls and it was exquisite. You couldn’t tell you were eating sushi. I would definitely revisit Oishii when I’m back in the Plano/Frisco area.
I've never had a 'no rice' roll but after having the Flower Roll, Caesar Roll and Royce roll I'm sold. The concept of a sushi roll with no rice or seaweed or soy paper may sound strange, but Oishii rolls are fantastic. The Flower Roll is wrapped in tuna that is pounded flat with a tasty all fish filling topped with guacamole and more fish! The flavors and quality of the seafood were a 10. Maybe one if not the best sushi roll I've ever had 😉 The 45 Roll is off menu but I highly recommend it.
This place was amazing! Even though I didn’t have a booking, the lady at the front desk was kind enough to find a table for me, which I really appreciated. The food was absolutely phenomenal, super fresh, delicate, and perfectly executed. Every bite was spot on. I highly recommend dining here if you’re looking for top-quality sushi and great service.
Had an incredible five-star dining experience at Oishii last night! The Omakase tasting was absolutely excellent—each course was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients really stood out, especially the green sauce!! To top it all off, we were given a rose at the end of the meal, which was such a thoughtful and elegant touch. Truly a memorable night. Highly recommend!
Wow!! Amazingly fresh sushi with creative & unique roll selections. I usually go for riceless and add thinly sliced lemon and ponzu sauces for a citrus zing! Jorge and Devon were incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and recommended delicious rolls and sauces. They were very fast, attentive, and provided great service! Rolls had a fun presentation and sauces were top notch with flavor profiles!! I’ll be back and highly recommend!! Video captions have names of each roll- Himalayan, Flower & Caesar Rolls
Best Sushi in Plano, we love to get their spicy edamame their Himalayan sushi roll, and we recently tried the Caesar roll and it was to die for! Fresh, Hand rolled while you are there, My son wanted to add cream cheese to a roll and they will do that. Great service, Oh and best part on Tuesdays they gave half price saki!
We were searching for great rolls and thought we'd give Oishii a try. Amazing! 6:00 reservations and happy hour ended at 6:30. Crowded but understandable. Our 2 top was kind of small so I'd advise you spread your orders out over your dining time. We ordered 2 plates at a time. Server was extremely responsive and we never had to wait long for the next dish. Eased the crowded real estate on the table. Drinks were creative and great. Service was very good. Next time we'll try some of the special dishes. Highly recommend.
If you are looking for some well-made sushi and fresh fish, then this is the place! The food was phenomenal!! The Eel and Salmon nigiri we had was so fresh that you could tell by the taste as soon as you put it in your mouth. I loved that they had a lot more riceless sushi options than other restaurants I've been to. I definitely want to come back and try more on the menu 😋
I was thoroughly impressed. The sushi was fresh and expertly crafted, offering a delightful burst of flavors with every bite. The service was attentive and friendly, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a fantastic place for sushi lovers—highly recommended!"
As a "Pan-Asian" restaurant, the menu is extensive and breaks the boundaries of various Asian cuisines. I personally prefer fewer items on the menu that have been meticulously perfected, but I guess others may prefer options (especially if you have a big party). Food is definitely not of the highest quality, but better than expected. Make sure to visit when you have the rest of the evening free - service is EXTREMELY slow.
One of my usual spots for sushi nearby. The usual hostess with dark hair remembers me and says welcome back when I come in. I dine in for lunch and order for dinner. Only issues are when I order to go. One time when I called in it took about 45 minutes over the estimated time I was given for just two items. One was a California roll so it seems like they started making it as I arrived at my given time. It was such a mess between different workers the manager came out to apologize. And they didn’t make it with no cucumber as requested (only noticed when I got home) Today, I went in for a pickup I ordered through DoorDash and said “hi I’m picking up, my name.” I didn’t mention DoorDash to the boy or say I was a driver (I’m not) and my name is pretty uncommon. It seems like he assumed I was a driver because of the question he asked later… maybe because I wasn’t dressed up or another factor based on appearance. After he went to the back a guy walked in after me who was obviously a driver since he introduced himself by facing his phone to the other host with the app open. When the host came back with my food he asked me to show him the order on the app. This was surprising to me because I have picked up to go a handful of times (call in and app) before and have never been asked to show proof. Again, my name is pretty uncommon so how would I be lying about an order. I wasn’t on my phone so I had to turn it on and find the app. It was my own order too so I feel like door dash notates who the pick up is being made by. It could be in my head on the intention behind the request, but still left a sour taste in my mouth. He didn’t explain it was a new policy or anything when I looked annoyed and said it’s my own order.
Stopped by for lunch to check out their Plano location. I’ve been to Dallas location and loved it. Today’s experience was okay. They were SUPER busy so service was a bit slow, they seemed a little bit overwhelmed. The only time I saw my server was when I ordered my food and when I got my check. It is also very loud in the restaurant. However, the poor bowl was fantastic and they have a great lunch menu!
We have been to many sushi restaurants in Texas and Tennessee, and I have to say that the food here was actually pretty good. Not the best, but pretty good. I actually would’ve rated this restaurant with four stars, however the sushi chefs decided it would be a good idea to stand there and make fun of their clients. We sat at the bar and heard them cackling and motioning to various restaurant patrons. We would have loved to come back, but because of the experience with the sushi chefs we will not be returning.
Hear me out - my husband and I are huge Oishii fans and have been to their SMU, Plano and Oak Lawn location multiple times. We left so disappointed the last time we went to the Plano location, that I feel the need to voice my opinion. - The Tahn scallop roll has too much truffle oil. At other locations, you get a slight (perfect) taste of it, in the Plano location it’s so much that it leaves an aftertaste. We couldn’t even finish the roll. - The Himalayan roll is definitely smaller than the other locations These are our go-to rolls so just a tad disappointed since Plano is closest to us and each roll is 20+. We had the same experience twice, the first time thought it was a fluke but then happened again :(
Every week we go on a “micro adventure” and try a new place. We heard great things about this restaurant from a foodie group that we are in. When we arrived we were impressed by the buildout. The inside is very pretty. There was no bartender so we sat at the sushi bar instead of the bar. It was interesting to watch food being prepared but no one interacted with us or even served us which was odd. We had a waitress but she would stand at a really odd place so we had to turn around to interact and she never knew when we had a mouth full of food. While the rangoons were delicious, overall the food was really lackluster. We were taken aback by the size and quantity of the rolls compared to the pricing. I personally didn’t care for the texture of the rolls as they were very loose and squishy. Any way, the specialty cocktails I ordered were really good. I had a blue and orange and then tried a spicy tequila based drink. I would definitely recommend trying one of those. I would absolutely avoid a plain cocktail. A Tito’s and soda is $11.50. You can grab one of those anywhere for half the price. We did enjoy the atmosphere and trying a new place out until the very end. While we were wrapping up, a hostess came over to us and made us move down one seat to accommodate a new party of two. Normally, no big deal. But the entire sushi bar was open except for one other couple. So we had to move all of our stuff over, move seats, and have a huge ordeal instead of the hostess waiting about 5 minutes for us to tip out and leave or sit the duo over a few chairs. That was absolutely ridiculous. Overall, fun to try a new place but we won’t be back. It’s way too expensive for the service, drinks, and food.
