Mustard Seed Bistro

I was looking for a place in an area filled with chains and stumbled on Mustard Seed Bistro. It has great reviews and an interesting menu so we gave it a try. The ambiance was lovely. We had a party of 7 and the volume was perfect - not loud and tables aren't crammed together. All of the food was delicious. The appetizers could be meals they are so generous. We tried the ceviche, shirt rib tacos and crab cake. All 7 of us had a different main dish. Everything was outstanding. The photos do not depict the size of the meal but we all have dinner for tonight. We had the incredible cupcakes for dessert but only because they had a few left. Try to reserve some when you reserve your table. We couldn't decide if the coconut key lime or pistachio were our favorite. Our server was fantastic. Knowledgeable and super nice. It is beer and wine only but the beer and wine lists are vast and top notch.

It was my first time eating here, and I loved the place and the food, so taste, you have to try this! The service was great.

This place never disappoints; great service, cozy atmosphere and delicious food! Come for the food and stay for the famous cup cakes. Only a small daily window for reservations. Open for lunch and dinner.

Trustfully, I was very skeptical about that place when my friend told me about it. Right from the start, when we saw the beautiful audience, the good vibes, delicious food and the great service, we understood that this is an hidden gem. Very recommend.

Delicious, upscale yet casual eatery in Plantation. Its really quite a surprise to find a place of this caliber in an suburban strip mall, which explains why its always slammed packed. The food is delicious and always well prepared. Bacon wrapped dates are a must and will go quickly if shared. Chicken and brie sandwich is my favorite, but I've never been disappointed with anything I've had here. The cupcakes are so fresh and moist, very easy to take to go in their own little unique container. Highly recommend.

What an absolutely fantastic dinner we had to celebrate our Anniversary. From the moment of walking in and being seated (luckily without a reservation) through great friendly service, assistance with choosing items to order from both the "weekly special and regular menus" the food was incredible with great portions, great taste of every ingredient, presentation..... WOW. The Shortrib Gyoza and Green Fried Tomato, appetizers were like nothing we've ever tasted before. Our Main Dishes of Seafood Pasta and Seafood Stew, again so tasty and each ingredient being recognized by its taste, with special spices and sauces not overpowering the taste. We can't wait to go back again. And oh those special Cupcakes for dessert. Thank you all for an incredible experience and fulfilling dinner. 🤟👍

Mustard Seed Bistro is in an unassuming strip mall in Plantation, Florida, not much to look at from the outside but do not pass up the chance to check it out. My friend and I were warmly greeted by Pablo and immediately seated at a tablecloth covered two-top. I ordered the spicy shrimp ceviche and was very happy with my choice. Beautifully presented in a very deep bowl were the freshest most crispy vegetables I've ever had. Napa cabbage, fresh corn, cucumbers, red pepper strips, tomatoes, the piece of baked sweet potato was an interesting surprise and half an avocado. The shrimp ( at least a dozen medium sized) were fully cooked but I really couldn't detect the spicy juice they were marinated in until I scooped down to the bottom of the bowl and was delightfully surprised. A cup of sweet cilantro lime dressing was served on the side. Every bite tasted deliciously different and did not disappoint. Though bread did not come with the salad my friend shared a piece of her toasted baguette with me and I happily dipped it into the dressing. The other dish was a Waldorf chicken salad sandwich (bread on the side) accompanied by freshly made potato chips and delicious macaroni salad. The baguette was so good we took home a fresh unbaked piece to have with our leftovers. We also tried 3 of their delightful cupcakes freshly baked in house and flavors change daily. Mine was vanilla birthday cake flavored with not too sweet frosting. It's recommended you reserve your cupcake choice as soon as you order as they sell out quickly. Beautifully decorated interior that seats 50 was almost fully occupied when we arrived for lunch at 1:40. A couple at the next table also recommended the Peruvian fish stew. All in all, I will definitely return to Mustard Seed Bistro and recommend you try it too.

Recently enjoyed lunch at Mustard Seed Bistro in Plantation. Lovely restaurant, excellent service, just wish they’d take reservations for lunch. I was thrilled to order Special Entree of grilled octopus on bed of hummus with kalamata olives, cubes of feta cheese, cucumbers and halved grape tomatoes. Octopus was grilled to perfection, tender and tasty. I’ve been looking for grilled octopus lately so this was a great opportunity for me to try it. My friend ordered the BBQ Salmon salad served in bowl of mixed greens with roasted corn, black beans, wedges of tomatoes, and slices of avocado. Beautiful presentation that she said was delicious! Neither of us saved room for dessert but I enjoyed a dark-roast coffee after lunch.

A hidden treasure. I knew it by chance one day that was walking around and a person was eating at the tables outside a salad that looked delicious. Do not imagine that such a simple facade has such a divine restaurant inside. The restaurant has an excellent atmosphere, beautiful decoration, good music and an unbeatable service. Food is delicious! They do not have such a large menu but with the dishes that are enough. Usually when I go I ask for the onion soup and Ceviche Salad. The soup has a rich layer of gratin cheese that overflows from the cup it is served on, it is delicious. All the salads are quite large so they satisfy the appetite very well. The "Ceviche Salad" is delicious has a perfect combination of ingredients that does not lack nothing left over. The cupcakes are delicious. It is a restaurant that is full when you go, which means that the food is very good. The salads range from $ 13 to $ 16 approximately, but they are worth it. The last time it was between a salad, an iced tea and a cupcake, the bill came out at $ 22 and as delicious! Sin duda un tesoro escondido. No te imaginaa que una fachada tan simples tiene un restaurante tan divino adentro. El restaurant tiene un hambiente excelente, linda decoracion, buena musica y un servicio inmejorable. La comida es deliciosa! No cuentan con un menu tan amplio pero con los platos que tienen basta. Usual mente cuando voy pido la sopa de cebolla y la Ceviche Salad. La sopa tiene una rica capa de queso gratinado que de desborda por la taza en que viene servida, es deliciosa. Todas las ensaladas son bastante grandes por lo que satisfacen muy bien el apetito. La “Ceviche Salad” es deliciosa tiene una combinación perfecta de ingredientes a la que no le falta no le sobra nada. Los cupcakes son deliciosos. Es un restaurante que a la hora que vayas está lleno lo que significa que la comida es muy buena. Las ensaladas van de 13$ a 16$ aproximadamente, pero valen la pena. La última vez que fue entre una ensalada, un iced tea y un cupcake, la cuenta salió en $22 y como delicioso!

Great place for lunch. Fresh salads, lovely atmosphere and good service. They are known for the cupcakes and highly suggest you order yours right away because they sell out. Nice neighborhood spot to celebrate a birthday with tour girlfriends.

Mustard Seed is situated in an unassuming shopping plaza but do t let that fool you. The food, service, and ambiance are fantastic. The menu has a great selection of items and the wine menu is also on par with the food selection. If you want a great white tablecloth meal good for a date or quiet setting, this option is the best around! We had the scallops with risotto along with bacon wrapped dates and mushroom tacos...so good!

Service is always wonderful, ingredients are always fresh. Food is awesome. Cupcakes are made fresh daily and delicious.. This place is simply amazing!

A do not miss. A very local place with a menu for every taste, plus the service is excellent. Note that it is beer and wine only. The food was exceptional. Fresh and prepared on the spot, honestly I do not think they have hot lights in the kitchen as the food seems prepared right before it hits your table. The cupcakes are a house favorite, but the chocolate torte is excellent. Enjoy.

This place was amazing. My Father and his wife had come to visit from Buffalo NY. We actually had picked a different spot and ended up there with no reservation. We were graciously accommodated and provided one of their last tables. The food was exquisite. Wow it was good. Pissed my Dad off by paying for the bill at the end when he went off to the bathroom but oh well. One of the bestly done scallops in the pasta I have ever had. And I know Maryland and The Outer Banks quite well. The food was succulent. Amazing. The staff was wonderful. This is a gem. Can't wait to go back!

New place for us, recommended by a friend. Not disappointed by anything. The food was absolutely delicious. The pear and cheese ravioli appetizer was top notch. The pasta was fresh, Peruvian fish stew looked delicious and the beef was prime quality in my opinion. Not the cheapest dinner I’ve ever had but certainly worth every cent.

First time coming here and I can safely say that I will be returning. My partner and I came in for lunch and the food was amazing with great quality ingredients. All of the servers were very attentive and polite. The atmosphere and presentation of the establishment is beautiful with the white tablecloth, great lighting, and soft jazz playing in the background. The food was affordable considering the great quality of it. Overall, money well spent!

I have eaten here many times. Today, I placed a large order to bring home. The food was just as amazing as always and everyone loved it. I was delightfully surprised to find two cookies placed in the bag as a thank you. The owner and all the staff members pour their heart into this bistro. The little thoughtful gestures to well thought-out meals that make you come back for more, and the great ambiance inside convinced me it was time to leave a review of one of my favorite restaurants. I'll be back soon.

I had a reservation at 5 pm. I was seated right when they opened. The crispy duck was amazing, and I loved the cherry gastrique. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed talking to them about the food and desserts. My friend had the snapper, which was perfection as well. Afterward, we had two desserts, the apple cobbler cupcake. I was blown away by it because I love apple pie. This was like apple pie as a cake. We also had their cinnamon roll with apple as well. Loved the texture and balanced flavors of the roll. Icing was perfect. Not too sweet.

So delighted to find this little gem of a restaurant! The ambiance is elevated cozy, very inviting with white table cloths. The service was the same friendly, elegant and professional. Kevin was my waiter and he was very attentive. The FOOD! AMAZING! I had the Peruvian Fish Stew and it was perfection! All the right spices and each piece of seafood was perfectly cooked. Bonus is it was served hot not luke warm. BEST cupcake I have ever had too! My meal here turned a decidedly bad week into a happy day! Sorry no photos, I was too hungry and forgot.

A hidden gem! A restaurant tucked away in a plaza can deliver such delicious food! I highly recommend the fish stew. I typically would never order a plate like this but 20/10 will recommend! The sauce is literally made out of crack. You just can’t get enough! The only thing I would recommend is using a different quality of fish. It was leaning towards the fishy side but otherwise, the seafood medley was great. The salmon in the salad was perfectly cooked. Even my 1YO loved it! If you’re not used to spicy, I recommend getting the sauce on the side. It gives a nice kick. The restaurant is owned and operated. Major kudos for the hard work and offering delicious dishes!

Amazing food! The ambiance in this place is so beautiful and intimate. It was a treat to eat here. Everything we ate was so fresh and delicious! I had the Waldorf sandwich, on bread they make fresh daily. It was so perfectly crispy and amazing. I'd totally buy fresh baguettes from there if I lived here in FL and they offered that. The cupcakes are also made fresh and we're not only appealing to look at but delicious to eat. Definitely a special treat to eat here, and you can tell it's a local favorite spot. They were packed for lunch time. Recommend showing up about 11-11:30 if possible to make sure you get a seat right away. If we return to Florida we definitely will be making a point to stop here!

My experience was great, I want to go back to try other dishes. Our friends recommended us to go because they go often and love it. The service was great and the place felt cozy. I had the seafood soup and it was amazing, my friend's salad was good, the warm bread with butter 😍They don't take reservations, so you may arrive and have to wait in line. I came back March/2024 and asked for Black Quinoa Shrimp Bowl it was delicious.

Went here for a nice dinner date with the wife. It was an enjoyable experience, but some of the food could have been better. We started with the escargot, which was a little disappointing. It didn't have much flavor. The bacon wrapped dates were pretty awesome, but we've both had better. My wife had the shrimp & grits, which she liked. But she found Seasons 52's to be better, which was slightly unfortunate. I had the Peruvian first stew. It was the best thing I had in my opinion. Overall a nice atmosphere and the service was really good. We were just a little disappointed with the food. We'd give it another shot, but won't be rushing back.

Storefront restaurant that offers an intimate setting. We had a dinner meeting. Small but eclectic menu and a very nice wine list. Started with the Mediterranean Vegetable Plate, Zucchini, Squash, Red Pepper, Feta, Hummus, & Grilled Pita, nice assortment and very good. For a main, I tried the Peruvian Fish Stew, Shrimp, Scallops, Mussels, Clams, Lime, Cilantro, & Crostini. Definitely a soup because there was lots of broth. They said it was spicy which it wasn't. Nice dish.

The food was amazing and my server was great, however hearing the bartender (very short, blonde hair) came out to a table to bash Biden and downplay what's happening in Russia is what's resulted in my giving 4 stars. Keep your political opinions to yourself at work, and don't push them on customers.

Loved the ambiance and the banh mi sandwich. My husband also had a very delicious prime rib sandwich. The fish stew could have been better.

Service was great, the hamburger was cooked perfectly. But was way too salty for my liking. French fries were perfect. Bring a bib, hamburger was extremely juicy.

Service was top notch, truly. Space was overly dark. Food presentation was beautiful. Three stars because nothing we ordered (two apps and two meals) held up to the service or the price point. Very over priced for the flavors that come to the table. No complaints about the meals, it was just meh.
