Opinions de The 99 Plattsburgh
We spoke to the manager Andrew to tell him what high quality lobster rolls we received by delivery. The food was warm, packaged perfectly, and was the best takeout we have ever received. We appreciate the 99 Restaurant here in Plattsburgh. Thank you for your attention to detail, and leading a great team, Andrew.
Had a great meal today. The begining of the meal was a little rocky, however the initial problems were quickly rectified and a manager came out and told us our appetizer sampler would be free for our trouble. My wife's chicken dinner was so tender you could cut it with a fork. My son's surf and turf combo was great and so big he couldn't finish it. My chicken tender and turkey tip combo was excellent, the turkey tips were very tender and juicy. We had an excellent meal and our server Jeremy was awesome. Thanks for a great afternoon meal and great customer service.
Food was okay. But I nearly shit myself when I seen the cost of a wanna be lobster roll was over 30 bucks. I ordered the Sheppards pie and it wasn't Sheppard pie. It was cottage pie. A restaurant should know the difference between them. A Sheppard pie is made with lamb meat not beef lol. The tea was really good ;)
My wife and I ate here during our 2024 summer vacation. I had a steak dinner. My wife and I really enjoyed our dinners and dessert. We will eat here again when we are in the area.
We return to this restaurant because of the menu choices and the friendly staff. The popcorn that is served as you wait for your meal is a feature that our family enjoys. The variety of items on the gluten sensitive page on the regular menu is much appreciated. The staff works well as a team and the bathrooms always seem clean. We know we can count on a good family meal at an affordable price.
Came late on a Sunday evening, we were sat at the bar because they were short on waiters. That did not affect their service whatsoever. Mike the bartender was above and beyond, not only taking our orders, but educating us on local history and places we should check out before we head back home. The food was phenomenal. Definitely will be back if we're in the area again. Highly recommend.
Always has great food and service!!
Had a stuffed scallop shell with seafood chowder - excellent. Their house ale is a very good beer as well. It was adjacent to our hotel in Plattsburgh so very convient as well. We travel to Plattsburgh every year and will be back.
Absolutely loved it! Food was great traditional American. The prices were very reasonable. Large selection. Travis , our waiter, was supper friendly! We got our food fairly quick. No wait time to be seated.
We've eaten here a couple times now. We love that they have a great selection of gluten free options on the menu and are willing to take extra care to ensure those options remain free from cross contamination. Great food and huge portions- you can get two meals out of your order if you want.
I had a piece of fried fish and was out of this world good. thank you
Always a good choice for quality,,+ value. But this tine. Buns not fresh. + Dried out. Chicken this never ever happened before over 10 years. Of going here so it's probably a one-off usually everything is perfect and delicious and fresh but I was disappointed this time
Food was good, I had a carne asada bowl which was quite tasty. The spinach dip and buffalo chicken dip appetizer was really good too. Bathrooms need a bit of work, but otherwise fine place to grab dinner.
I could rave about the food and the good beer selection, but what I admired most about my experience here, is that all the servers, and kitchen staff seemed so happy and happy to be there, everyone had a genuine smile as was very nice😊
Exceptional experience! We enjoyed a nice steak paired with a diverse beer selection. The staff was incredibly welcoming, providing prompt service with a smile. A must-visit for steak and beer enthusiasts alike.
My dinner was great. My service, was even better. Danielle was our waitress. She was one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have been in the f&b world for over 30 years, she is everything a great server is. 10 stars for her. Thanks so much!!
I ordered the southwest black bean burger and was FLOORED by how good it was. Would most definitely order again. I can't remember our server's name but he was perfect. (Didn't hover and got everything right, super polite to my 6 year old.) I don't normally go to chain restaurants but this will be the exception. Awesome job, guys.
This place has very good food. I had seafood and lobster. The tables were very clean. Waitress wanted a bug tip and she shook her off to get it. I'll definitely go back. Theirs lots of singles here and they are ready to mingle. It gets really busy when the men are in there. I will go back and have the buttered buns they taste great.
Excellent service, food, and atmosphere. The portions are phenomenal. Waitresses are gorgeous. The pot pie was great, and the steak here is definitely worth ordering. I ordered it medium well and it came out perfect
My husband and I took our daughter and soon to be son in law here for dinner as a farewell dinner for our son in law as he was leaving for Marines boot camp a couple of days later. The food was great and didn't take long to come out at all. Our waiters name was Travis, and he was excellent. He went above and beyond for us and made sure we had everything we needed. He always made sure our sodas were refilled without having to ask. If you are looking for a place to eat in Plattsburgh, NY, I would have to say check out 99 Restaurant. I guarantee you won't be disappointed about the service or the food. A+++
Had the steak tips and chicken fingers combo. Cooked perfectly and the seasoning was delicious. Everyone was so polite, all the staff still wearing their masks which I highly appreciated. Great prices, great staff and an all around wonderful evening. Definitely worth the time , would recommend to all
It was good, the food was tasty, and the staff were friendly.
Every visit offers a delightful experience. While there may be a wait of 30-60 minutes for a table, it’s generally worth it for the delicious meals, flavorful drinks, and diverse selection available. The staff is friendly and accommodating, contributing positively to the overall atmosphere. Additionally, the prices are reasonable, making it a great dining option.
Welcome find after a long road trip. The menu had a lot of variety, with everything from standard American grub (burgers, wraps) to some very fine seafood dishes (scallops, shrimp, haddock, salmon), many with a Southwestern vibe. There's a smattering of mixed drinks, beers, and wines. We didn't try any, but there seemed to be something for everyone. (Well, everyone over 21.) Service was great (a shout-out to Emily), with checks to be sure everything was good but not hovering. The atmosphere was okay. We deliberately sat outside the bar section, but it's still a pretty bustling place - understandably, as their prices are fair and their food is good. We both had the honey-BBQ wraps - they are huge! You could easily split one between two people.
Great place to eat. Wonderful staff and good food that’s a good price. Love the specials.
A good time and food. Great servers!
We went early for dinner. Got seated right away. Food was good and prices are really reasonable. Definitely will return!
Our server John (older gentleman) was the best!!! So friendly & attentive. My partner and I left with our bellies full and huge smiles because the service was so wonderful! 10/10 recommend
Absolutely loved my experience here on Valentine’s Day ! The food was delicious and hot ! Our server Jim was beyond fantastic! Super friendly and very attentive! Would definitely recommend to those who haven’t gone here !
Great service, fast. Elliot the waiter was amazing. Food was hot and delicious. Their boneless chicken wings are a must. One of the best 99 restaurant.
Surprisingly good food for a chain restaurant. Our waiter was pleasant, efficient. The food was excellent. The wait time was minimal. Would definitely recommend. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and very family friendly
First time there. When I looked at the menu I thought the prices were extremely high. But after considering other places I've eaten they were comparable with others. Place was very clean. Service was excellent and the food was served in a reasonable time. Waiter was busy but kept up with the tables. I was by myself, two at one table and two other tables had four people each. And another had around six people. I would definitely go there again and recommend it
We always have an excellent time at 99 in Plattsburgh, New York. What a great staff, drinks are reasonably priced and the food is always excellent. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. Update-January 23, 2025 my wife and I had a herb garlic butter top New York strip with french fries. I ordered the fries extra extra crispy. These are by far the best french fries in Northern New York and Vermont one cooked this way. Make sure you order them Extra extra crispy and tell them Brian told you so! We visit this restaurant at least 4 to 5 days a week. I highly recommend 99 restaurants to anybody. January 2, 2025-update. I don’t wanna sound like a broken record, but I’m having a French onion soup and it’s probably one of the best French soups I’ve had. I’m 59 years old and I certainly have dined at some very exclusive restaurants around the world. This is very good. Make sure you put it on your to do list! Update again, February 22, 2025. Just ordered the turkey sub club and had it delivered to our seats at the bar. Can you believe how much turkey they gave us on this one? Wow! Again, I’m just a patron I do not have any endorsement or support from 99 restaurants, I just love coming here. The sandwich is amazing and Mike our bartender was awesome. Make sure you put this as a destination for lunch or dinner, fun and drinks. Very family, friendly, very customer oriented! Three Michelin stars if I could give them. Thank you for the kind words! My wife and I truly enjoy dining at your establishment from Plattsburgh. Congratulations to the 99 corporation for having to build a brand and a restaurant to exceed most any expectations! May 10, 2025 – my wife and I are back at 99 for our usual lunch date. we decided to try the prime rib and we were completely floored when it came out. Make sure to check out the photo above. As usual amazing service amazing, cool quality and amazing atmosphere. The prime rib is absolutely awesome. The best in Plattsburgh!
On our way to Canada we decided to give 99 restaurants a try. We ordered a burger medium rare which was amazing. It came with tomatoes, pickles, onions, and French fries. The Mac and cheese was great. I would highly recommend it for those who love a creamy and cheesy mac and cheese. Our server was great. She was friendly, courteous, and on point by making sure my glass of water was always filled and that we always had whatever we needed. The restaurant had a warm and cozy neighborhood sports bar feel to it. Would recommend stopping here if you’re on your way to Canada. We might even visit again on our way back.
We were seated immediately by the hostess who gave us menus. For the first 10 minutes, the waitress for our area walked by us several times and completely ignored us. A nearby table busser overhead us discussing what we should do to get service. The busser, thankfully, came and took our order including drinks. Soon thereafter, another employee brought us our drinks then another employee brought our soups. Yet another employee brought our main meals. We were never asked if we wanted desserts. Yet another employee cleared our dishes. The waitress were were supposed to have but never met, walked by and slapped our bill down on our table without saying a word to us. The food was excellent but the service was bizarre dealing with 6 different people.
Service was a little slow. But the food was good. Apps came in a timely manner. Chicken bacon ranch was awesome. Mozzarella sticks were really good. They also offer a military discount too, which is great.
The food tasted good, and they gave my brother the wrong mac and cheese, not that big of a deal, honestly. Bathroom was clean enough.
Sat at bar. Bartender was nice and provided good service along with a little humor.
It's the nines, I can't complain. I was seated immediately, served promptly, and was able to pay by phone. The food was warm and filling, and the beer was cold. It's not the tastiest meal I've ever had, but I ate it all and would do so again.
We had the onion soup, broccoli cheddar soup, wedge salad and the ribs. The soups were tasty, the wedge was enjoyable. The rib did not fall off the bone as advertised but were tasty. The service was prompt and friendly. The menu has good variety. Decent value.
Ribs were falling off the bone 😋 service was steller. The only thing I didn't care for was the buffalo Mac and cheese was super salty. That recipe needs tweeking
Went out here to eat with a friend! Food was good and the staff was exceptional. Patient kind and seemed very happy to help with the extra needs we required. (braille menu)Thankyou for helping provide an enjoyable evening
Never disappointed. The food was fresh and tasty. I would have like to be seated at a quiet place. There was a group behind us that was rather loud but happy they had a good time. Worth the trip when in the area.
Service was excellent (Chris). Ordered the Friday fish fry which was a generous portion, cole slaw good, but french fries were warm and few at best.
FOOD: Shrimp scampi: portion and taste were good, little too much butter, bread was loaded with garlic. Reuben sandwich: large portion, good flavor. Sirloin tips and shrimp: good Country fried chicken: good Fries are not great. Bland, not crispy. DRINKS: no IPAs, prices were very fair though SERVICE: quick, efficient. Overall: $160 for 4 people, drinks, apps, entrees. Very solid choice for a chain style restaurant.
Staying at the Best Western next door. Too tired to go far afield. Sat at the bar to eat. Prime rib was on special and swordfish. The food was plentiful and tasty. Service good.
This restaurant had great food, prompt and friendly service, and was a very enjoyable place to have dinner after a long day of motorcycle riding and hiking. We kind of compared it to an Applebee's on steroids. We have already made plans to go back to that area, and will be visiting 99 again.
We went to 99 for the first time because we were staying at the hotel and it was easy. I got swordfish with lemon caper sauce, which was better than expected for like $19. Sides were fine, average. Kiddo got chicken tenders with fries and applesauce. He said they were “regular”. Our waitress was very nice.
Ive stopped for dinner at 99 RESTAURANT during my return to Canada. The dishes are very varied and typical of the US. This means that the meat follows the North American tasty standard: practically no seasoning, only pepper. Overall it is a good option. Don't miss the "MOZZARELLA MOONS" and "VERMONT CHEDDAR BURGER".
We decided to give this place a try. Our server was great. She was friendly and courteous. I ordered a prime rib special. I asked for a medium rare but it arrived medium well. The portion was huge. My daughter ordered aac and cheese with spicy chicken and it was good. My wife ordered a seafood trio and it was good.
Convenient location, nice atmosphere and good variety menu. The chicken fajita flatbread and fried shrimp were delicious. Really enjoyed the frozen strawberry lemonade. We also ordered the buffalo mac and cheese to take back to our hotel. Jenny was such a pleasant waitress and accommodated our request immediately.
Cookie cutter chain restaurant. The staff was delightful! The food was good. I got the seafood stuffies, yummy but more filler than seafood. The crispy cauliflower tacos, I must say these were tasty. Very crispy, a tad bland, the spicy mayo helped. They were light on the slaw and they were dry. I should have went with the crispy cauliflower appetizer instead. And I had some cupcake prosecco. Can't go wrong there. All said and done, I did enjoy my meal and visit to the 99.
Service here is always top notch. It never matters which server I get. On my last visit the manager came out to the outdoor seating to see if we needed anything else. They were kind to my daughter and helpful in choosing our menu options. My only suggestion for outdoor seating is 10th options instead of umbrellas for a restaurant of this caliber.
It wasn't overwhelming but at the same time it wasn't underwhelming because the food was fantastic it was just smaller quantities of what I wanted. I expected a big plate And outcame the small steak that tasted Fatty and Honestly I just didn't prefer the steak but my boyfriend ordered a Burger and it was the juiciest Burger ever it was dripping with juice. Appetizers were spot on. The salad kind of threw me for a loop because I ordered Italian for my sauce an expected Italian But instead I got creamy Italian? I've never heard of that before on a salad. But overall nice experience the waitress was super friendly.
The sirloin tips had a good flavored rub but were a bit on the fatty side. The service was quite slow. There was a 10 minute delay between being seated and having the order taken. Also the server did not inquire about a refill even with my empty glass in plain sight
I like 99 for the most part, but have 3 notes here. 1) Go up 1 rarity level on your steak. Every time I order "medium" steak I get bloody, rare steak. So if you want a medium that's still juicy, go with medium-well at least. 2) Stay away from the "seafood trio" thing. The baked thing that comes with shrimp, scallops and some white fish. The scallops are actually ok. But I've gotten undercooked shrimp AND bones in the fish a couple times now. I'm over it. It's like 50/50 as to whether it'll be good or not. When it's good, it's good. But when it's bad it could make you puke by being soggy, grainy, have pieces of shrimp tail or bone in it. So my opinion, don't risk it. Stay away from shrimp and steak. If you want good steak, go to Texas Roadhouse. 99 does fish pretty well, their WHOLE portions of fish. Go with the salmon or haddock. 3) Stop forcing people to tip on pickup orders. Since you don't specify WHO that tip goes to, why would I give 15% of $85 to anyone? Is it for the kitchen staff? Is it for the chick who takes 60 seconds to run my food out? Does the company steal it? Who knows? I prefer tipping in person if I'm going to tip at all. Delivery drivers excluded. Personally I think tips are ridiculous. Everyone should be paid a fair wage and tipping should be abolished. No one should have to live on tips.
My daughter and I stopped in for an early dinner, our server was very pleasant and efficient seems he had his little script memorized. I was very disappointed in the Colossal lobster roll which we both ordered it was a huge disappointment. A small grilled hot dog roll with dry lobster. No way colossal. At least dip the lobster in some butter. Such false advertising, not worth the sale price.
Our waitress was great but the food was so-so. I got the beef tips as did several others in my group. The consensus was they were overcooked. People who asked for medium rare got well done. They we’re still very flavorful, maybe too much salt, and tender. I got a garden salad with ceasar dressing as did someone else in the group on the other side of the table and without us being aware of each other’s food, both of us didn’t eat the salad as ot was saturated with dressing. The food is ok, wait staff very helpful and overall atmosphere comfortable even though our big butts were crammed at a medium sized table. There was 7 of us and it was a tight squeeze. I doubt I’ll be back.
Look, I don't hate this place. It's got some decent items, like the Oreo brownie dessert with the ice cream, and pretty good burgers. However, it is almost never worth it to come here due to the price alone. My girlfriend and I have ordered less food here than at a similar restaurant, and paid even more money here than we did there. I didn't like the potato skins, they were very lackluster and barely had any toppings. And the ribs are straight up a no.
Well, I’ve been gone for 3 years living it up in North Carolina. I come back to Plattsburgh to hang out with my grand babies. We decide we’re going to go out for dinner. The 99. A childhood memory for my chicken and hopefully now for my grand babies. Well that’s not the case anymore. There bathrooms are very confusing on which one is womens and which one is mens. I walked into the men’s bathroom!!!!!!!! I saw a urinal and turned around. Well that’s not all that went wrong. We order are food and the food is great but there’s one small problem. Our waiter needed help bringing out huge dinner. He greeted us by mentioning how he’s the manager of the 99 restaurants! His name was Andrew! Seemed like a nice guy but also seemed like he hasn’t taken a shower in a couple days. It really ruined are experience. But again the food was absolutely amazing. So other then those 2 mishaps I enjoy the 99.
Good service and good food. Booth and table were not clean and could smell sewer gas when entering the restaurant. It has been like that for years.
Food was good. Waitress not so much. Threw our bowl of popcorn on the table so she could wait on others . Her attitude was horrible as was her service at our table. We tried asking questions after placed our order and she jist turned and walked away while my sister was in midsentence.
This place is pretty pedestrian. Nothing that special. I could tell there was a layer of dust on a hanging lamp & when I wiped my finger down the side there was a huge smear where the dust had been. Pretty gross actually. I had a strawberry & lemon mock-tail, which was really good. However, nothing special to report here.
I spent $61 last night on food from my local 99, it use to be absolute favorite place but the food quality was horrible. I never complain and I hate doing it but 2 of the 3 items ordered we’re inedible. I ate 1/3rd of the burger,, the fries were old, I’m talking like old end of the night fast food fries. The dough bites were wet like they we’re boiled or something. My friends fish was fine luckily she got better quality, they also were out of a tea and gave us multiples of another kind and were very good about that part which is why I gave a 2 star. Don’t know if I’ll order again just with the pricing of it, it would be a gamble.
Food was good. Service was poor/non existent at best. Stood at door waiting to be seated, not a person around. When I am spending $50 + dollars for 2 people for lunch, I would expect to have a little service with speaking. One napkin for the table. Asked if I wanted refill for drink, never came back. Reached around corner and threw bill on table, not a word said. I took the bill and was told I am supposed to pay at table. Stood around again waiting to pay until I asked if I should go back and sit at table. Almost like going through McDonald's drive thru. No speaking so not sure what you want me to do. I am sorry I bothered you at your job today.
We were so unimpressed by the food here we actually took my husband’s steak to-go because I was finished with mine by the time they re-cooked his. Both steaks were 75% fat, and at $37/each - that’s unacceptable. The fries were soggy and bland. My salad was browned. The only thing that was decent was the French onion soup. This was my first time here and it’ll be my last. Our meal for two people cost $115 plus tip. Incredibly underwhelmed by the quality of the food.
This was our only option on a Sunday night, as everywhere was super packed… manage my expectations of this place but really aside from service being OK. The food was not great and then our appetizer arrived with a bad lemon from another plate… We sent it back, because it clearly had been from another plate with guacamole and our no guacamole….. place needs a good clean, the plates were all dirty and cutlery too… whatever.
The new manager tonight was a frustrated fruit cake . Not as he used to be.. at lest the waitress was cool , food it's ok not a wow as before
they need to make it so somone answers the call line.
Not all but half the staff is rude. It's disappointing. The cook touched his face with no gloves on then I watched him reach over and fill people's plates with food touching the food with the same hand he touched his face with.(Bare hands) Not to mention I ordered a salad and 3 times i sd no croutons no tomatoes please. Yet there they sat on my plate. I picked them out but it's not the point. Very Disappointed.
Cutlery, plates and glass dirty before even eating and I never got water to start with… server was nice, but I had to ask for new serve-ware. I also had to send back a plate to the kitchen, this plate had an old lemon with guacamole on it when I didn’t have any on my plate … the serve was speechless and agreed, this is not normal.
I was so disappointed with my visit today. The fries were cold and soggy. They only put two little bites of chicken in the wrap which fell out the minute I picked it up. The place was dirty (tables, floor and the whole place stunk). All we got was two chicken wraps with fries, water, 1 cup of tea and soup and it came up to $50. One bonus, the waiter wasn't too bad. Although if he came back to check on us, we would have told him. This is the 2nd time that I was not happy with this place and the last. Update: I ended up with hives. I have a shellfish allergy (yes I notified the waiter) so there must have been some cross contamination.
Every time we travelled to Plattsburgh, we used to eat at the 99 restaurant. However, when we got there yesterday at 4:30 p.m., we ordered steak, chicken, soup, and mac and cheese for the kids. What a horrible experience—the beef was overdone, charred, and I was shocked when I started eating, and the chicken was extremely salted and dried—it tasted like leftover meat that had been reheated but the soup and kids meal was very good. The waitress was very nice but she should see the plates before put it on the table. We forgot to take pictures of the meat how badly it was, and I hate giving this rate to this place and so sad we lost it. We think the chef was replaced because we felt disrespected by his serving us food that was unfit to be served and should have been put in the bin of organic waste collection. We made the decision to stop visiting this location and to inform everyone we know that the 99 restaurants in Plattsburgh are no longer five stars.
If you’re looking for cold food and an understaffed restaurant this is your place. When the customer says their food is cold. Don’t think they will be back. Bottom line get new cooks.
For a place that is supposed to be a steakhouse, the quality of their meat was absolutely terrible. I've been there twice now and will never go back. Terribly tough and tasteless steak. As well, the atmosphere is run down and the place smells like a nursing home. That last comment is not meant to be harsh, but the truth is the truth. Service was meh. Waitress was not bad, but not very prompt either.
We were looking forward to a family meal here, but unfortunately, we won’t return due to the waitress's poor attitude and the unavailability of key menu items and drinks. My food was barely warm. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
