Opinions de Gold Chopsticks Pleasanton
I only like 2 Chinese restaurants in Pleasanton and this one is tied with the other one! Never been here even though I've been here for years but decided to try it out and it did not disappoint. The fried rice had a nice smokey flavor to it, the chow mein was delicious really liked the hot and sour soup and the orange chicken too! Will have to come back to try more items!
Discovering Golden Chopstick in Dublin, California, was a true culinary revelation. The absence of a noteworthy Chinese restaurant in Stockton led me to venture all the way to Dublin, and it defined an experience beyond expectations. While it's undeniable that the prices lean towards the higher side, this is justified by the demographics of the location. Investing around a hundred bucks for four dishes might seem steep, but the portions are not only substantial but also incredibly delectable. The flavors are a testament to the care and skill invested in the culinary artistry. What truly sets Golden Chopstick apart is not just the food but the outstanding service. Maggie, our gracious host, ensured every aspect of our dining experience was impeccable. The attention to detail in making sure the food arrived piping hot, delicious, and ready was a testament to the commitment to customer satisfaction. Now, let's delve into the gastronomic journey itself. The Mongolian lamb was a symphony of flavors, each bite offering a delightful combination of tender meat and robust spices. The Lover's Promise lived up to its name, providing a divine experience that tantalized the taste buds. The salt pepper fish was an unbelievable culinary adventure, elevated further by the addition of a homemade chili sauce that allowed for a personalized spice level. When I come across something that defies a conventional rating scale of 1 to 10, and ventures into the realm of extraordinary, Golden Chopstick undoubtedly falls into that category. This is not just a restaurant; it's an experience that deserves a permanent place in your phonebook, contacts, or even a business card for seamless and delightful orders. Prepare for a genuine surprise with each visit to this culinary haven.
I was pleasantly surprised when the food came to our table. The smells and tastes were lovely and the staff seemed very attuned to the atmosphere. Do take note if you have something against oily foods, it seemed pretty oily. Other than that, I like the experience, would come again to try some other savory sounding foods in the menu. 9/30/24: Came back to this place a second time. The food still tasted as great as before. This time I ordered the honey walnut prawn and general tsou's chicken. The honey walnut prawns were surprisingly different with interesting addition of sesame seeds. I couldn't believe the taste afterwards. Best honey walnut prawn I've had
Service was quick and the overall vibe was good. The restroom wasn't great. Wish they maintained the cleanliness of the bathroom. May be it’s a one off situation. However the food quality and taste made up for that not so good experience overall.
There was eight of us that came in for lunch on a Sunday and I am incredibly grateful for their hands-on service and for honestly being very kind for what was a family meeting of sorts. The lady there really helped ease the tension and honestly when she asked questions and kind of prompted the conversation to stay optimistic. I truly appreciate that. The food portions at least in regards to the super huge and honestly we had more than enough food. Thank you very much for helping this family gathering be a positive one.
I had the honey walnut prawns with fried rice for lunch today and it was very yummy. It came with an egg roll and it was very crispy. Pairing it with the hot mustard or the sweet and sour was great. Overall a good experience.
I really liked the shrimp rolls because of the texture and the flavor it was really good and different from what I’ve tasted and other restaurants don’t really have shrimp rolls. The chow mein was also a really good meal to eat

Me and my family came here to eat while visiting and it did not disappoint! I am amused and satisfied at how authentic it was. The moment I stepped in I felt at home and I would definitely come here again! The staff wad also very polite and respectful.. 10/10 service!
AMAZING! I wish I could go again since I live quite far away. I knew the moment I came into the place that I would have a great expirence! Very nice staff and the food was amazing. Would come again
Gold Chopsticks offers an authentic Chinese dining experience that fulfills what customers craves. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by warm and welcoming atmosphere. Each dish that is served was precisely made and it did not fail to taste good. Not only that, the staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and they make sure they serve you with a memorable experience.
Friendly service, good food! We were craving some food with rice and came to this spot for late dinner. First thing we noticed was that the dining room looks well taken care of. Everything was clean and the decor looked well kept, somewhat dated but that’s what made it stood out. We got Hot & Sour soup and it lived up to its name. Peking pork chops were on the acidic side. Serving sizes were generous, we ordered 3 dishes in total with rice and had left overs to enjoy another day. Seems like they also had lots of takeout orders!
I stopped by here recently for a meal and honestly, everything was really good. The food was hot, flavorful, and definitely not “too salty” like some reviews mention — I had the Kung Pao chicken and it was just right. The portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh. While eating, I noticed the staff working hard to keep up with all the takeout and dine-in orders. They were polite and quick with me. I did see a customer get upset about paper plates and utensils, but from my perspective it seemed like a misunderstanding more than “rude service.” Most restaurants only give out extras if you ask, and it looked like the staff were just trying to manage supplies fairly. Overall, my experience was excellent. Great food, good prices, and friendly service. I’ll definitely be coming back.
The he sally and pepper pork chops bomb I got without spice the heat , the vermicelli noodles bolt I went ligh on the curry so yummy, sweet and sour pork on point!!!! The service was great and Keith have to give a shout out to our friends Olie and Aleia for recommending this place 💐
Gold Chopsticks is a solid choice for Chinese takeout in Pleasanton. I've ordered from here a few times, and it's consistently decent, especially when you're craving some familiar flavors without wanting to cook. Their orange chicken is a crowd-pleaser crispy, sweet, and tangy, just how it should be. The fried rice is also pretty good, not too greasy, and has a good mix of veggies and egg. I'd recommend sticking to the classics here; they do those well. The service is always fast and friendly, which is a big plus when you're in a hurry. It's not the most amazing Chinese food I've ever had, but it's reliable and hits the spot. If you're looking for a quick and tasty meal, Gold Chopsticks is worth a try, totally recommend coming here.
Gold Chopsticks is a delightful destination for anyone craving authentic and satisfying Chinese cuisine. The food is not just flavorful—it’s consistently excellent, with generous portions and a mix of favorite classics and unique dishes. But what truly stands out is the heart behind the service; genuine smiles, personal attention, and a welcoming vibe that keeps me coming back again and again. 💗
A very solid Chinese American restaurant with classic decors. We got Hot and Sour soup, Peking style pork, and mapo tofu. Flavor and quality was good. They’re what I expected of classic Chinese American dishes that are well executed, really appreciate that it’s not too salty or oily. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. Can I just talk about how well kept this place is?? One very unexpected thing that impressed me the most is actually the overall appearance of the restaurant! You can tell they’ve been around for a while from the style of the interior designs and furnitures. Yet at the same time, they are so clean as if they’re new?! Booths are in near perfect condition, tables and chairs are not grimy like many other places. I did not see any visible dust or noticeable signs of deterioration even on their wall and ceiling decors. It was actually very impressive and I really appreciate the level of intention they put into this business.

We had 3 meals, the salt an pepper shrimp were really good. The orange chicken an cashew chicken had no flavor at all. It was really bland. This place offers no refills on soda which is crazy too me. Overall it wasn't what I was expecting, most likely won't be coming back.

Salty Food and Even Saltier Service I’ve ordered takeout from this restaurant several times, hoping the experience would improve. Unfortunately, it only got worse. The food is consistently far too salty. I even had to throw away the Kung Pao chicken once. Despite that, I kept giving them chances, even asking them to go easy on the salt. What finally pushed me to write this review was the unacceptable treatment I received during my most recent visit. They never include basic items like paper plates, utensils, or napkins unless I ask. On this visit, I politely requested paper plates and spoons. The male waiter asked how many, and I said four. He started complaining that I’d only ordered food for two people and was asking for four plates. I told him it was for small kids who don’t eat much. Then he told me, “You’re always asking for things,” and said I shouldn’t come back. I was confused by what he meant by me always asking for things. Asking for utensils and napkins was asking for things? I was completely stunned by the comment not to return again. I reminded him I was a repeat customer, but he dismissed me, saying they have many customers and hadn’t noticed me. I stood in shock as he walked away and spoke to a woman I believe is the manager or owner. She approached me, and instead of apologizing, she handed me two plates and coldly asked, “Anything else?” I tried to explain, but she repeated the same complaint. I even offered to pay for the plates, but she said she didn’t know the cost and walked away, again telling me not to return. At that point, I told her I didn’t want the food anymore and asked for a refund which they processed. It felt like there was more behind their reaction than just my request for paper plates. Maybe it was because I’m a Black woman? I don’t know. But being told not to return over something so minor made me feel singled out and unwelcome. Restaurants should be places of hospitality and respect. This one failed on both fronts. I won’t be returning and they made it clear they don’t want me to. I hope others think twice before supporting a business that treats its customers this way.
I was leaving work due to illness which happened to be down the street from this restaurant. I walked in to get something to eat but before that I needed to use the restroom. I asked the waiter where the bathroom is and he responded with “bathrooms are only for customers” and I said I’m thinking of getting something after but I need the restroom and it’s an emergency. He proceeded to humiliate me in front of another customer saying that I will make a mess in his bathroom and scolded me before telling where the bathroom was. If it wasn’t an emergency I would’ve walked out, but I just went anyway. While in the bathroom, the waiter started banging on my door and telling me to get out. I was beyond pissed at this point. Like how is that even legal? Then I walked out and told him that if wants to get customers he needs to learn how to behave with people. He then told me that his bathroom is only for customers and that he’s sure I made a mess (which is still insane to me). I then told him I was gonna buy something after but he told to me “stop bullshitting” (mind you this was all happening in front of the entire restaurant). I walked out and I’ve never been one to write reviews for places but this place made me mad beyond comparison. If you ever want to come to this place, i recommend looking elsewhere to eat. The customer service is horrible. If I could give negative stars I would. I ended up getting a sandwich somewhere else only because of the customer service in this place. If your not a customer they’ll treat you like your worthless and a bum. Crazy place.
