Our first time dining at Salena- a beautiful atmosphere, caring staff, and delicious specials that rotate. This restaurant has many different vibes to experience. You can quietly dine downstairs or experience the bar or hightops upstairs for a more lively experience. Once it's warmer- there will be outside dining upstairs that overlooks the Plymouth waterfront. Fish is A+, wine pairings are on point for the menu offerings, and the service was great. We'll be back!
Dined at Selena’s tonight it was so delicious. The server was super knowledgeable and friendly with great suggestions and tips when we asked. Super cozy/aesthetic atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Wanted to visit this place for a while and decided to go for Valentine’s Day dinner. We understand it can be a tough night for some restaurants since it’s so busy but we did not find it to be the case here. The food was impeccable and the service was amazing. They also had the best drinks. We are very impressed and will certainly be back very soon.
Great atmosphere & decor! Food was delicious! Gazpacho, tacos, Salena burger & Johnnys smashburger were yummy! Waiter was very attentive, delivered food and drinks in a timely manner! Can’t wait to go back!
Stopped by for appetizers and drinks outside. The fish tacos and corn cheeses dip and sweet plantains were delicious, as was the Basque Martini. Very chill, very nice.
We wanted to try something new and this spot had it all. Food was delicious, drinks were great, and atmosphere was a vibe. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent spanish/latino based food😋
Great place to go with a group of friends. The food, service and atmosphere are great. Everyone in our party really enjoyed the food options and it was delicious. The service is great every time we go. Very consistent. The restaurant has sitting upstairs with a bar, the atmosphere is very cozy and relaxing. Definitely a great place to hang out with friends and family.
Very good ❤️
We recently held a celebration of life event here on the second floor. The entire process of food and drink selection, music, and room set up was flawless. It almost seemed too easy. Courtney, the manager, listened to every suggestion and treated us with the utmost professionalism, as did the rest of the staff. People raved about the food and atmosphere. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
This place is phenomenal atmosphere 10 out of 10 the outdoor patio is awesome the drinks are some of the best and most creative in Plymouth and the food is always delicious, best brunch in the area . The live music and DJs are top notch definitely recommend if you want a classy place to enjoy great tunes drinks and food
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Salena this past Sunday. We were seated in the cozy downstairs dining room, which felt warm and welcoming. We started with the vegetable platter and guacamole, both of which were fresh and flavorful. For our mains, I enjoyed the veggie tacos, while my daughter opted for the chicken fingers. The highlight for me was the pickled vegetables that came with the tacos—they added a tangy crunch that made the dish stand out. The chicken fingers were also a hit, with a perfectly crispy exterior and tender inside. Overall, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere made for a perfect, relaxed meal. We’ll definitely be returning!
Dined here on a Friday evening. The atmosphere upon walking in is wonderful. Drinks were great and the halibut was delicious (which is hard to find around Plymouth). Our server Evan was professional and friendly. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to try something different!
We ordered takeout catering from Salena’s for our office, and it was a huge hit! The food was fresh, delicious, and loved by everyone. Coordinating the order was super easy and seamless from start to finish. We’ll definitely be ordering again—highly recommend!
We grabbed two seats at the bar. The bartender was outstanding! The meal we had was delicious! So many choices on such a unique menu, we had a hard time, deciding! Can’t wait to go again!
What a restaurant! I have been to this gem twice - once for a moms and teenage daughters girls' night and once on a date night. First, the decor. Unique, fun - it feels edgy, but classy. Expertly done and check out the stairs as you head upstairs to the dining room! We loved the colors and the rich, fun ambience. The service was top notch - from the hostess, to our incredible waitress and the general manager came to check on us. We wanted for nothing! Finally - the FOOD! Wow. Like every Chef Johnny Sheehan restaurant, this food is some of the best I've ever eaten. The tuna tartare was perhaps the best food we have ever eaten in our lives. I loved the vegan veggie tacos. The short rib empanadas changed my husband's life. My husband could not get enough of the albondigas. I don't drink much, but the En Claro was so delicious that I had three! Wow! What a drink! Multi-dimensional and not overly boozy. My daughter is vegetarian and I'm vegan and there were so many delicious options for us - and options the omnivores loved, too. We didn't feel like we were dining in the margins with our party - the vegan and vegetarian options integrate beautifully with all the food. Similarly, one of the moms doesn't drink and she had several mocktails to choose from and tried two - she loved both! Overall, Salena felt like a high-end night out along the coast in Uruguay. I cannot wait to go back soon.
Beautiful place. The manager is attentive and treats the staff well. Our waitress was top class. The bartenders were young and vibrant. Loved the music and lighting. Get the yuca friea and shrimp cerviche when you do go. PLENTY OF PARKING.
My husband and I had the most wonderful time last night! The ceviche is SO fresh and delicious! And don’t even get me started on that flan custard dessert! We sat at the bar and had the best service! Cannot say enough good things about Salena’s! We will definitely be back again and again!
We were excited to try this new restaurant and were not disappointed! We sat at the upstairs, large wrap around bar and enjoyed the view, drinks and service provided by Richie! We started with the ALBONDIGAS, mini meatballs that was the perfect starter, sharing plate. The meatballs were delish only to be outdone by the sauce which we sopped up with the toasted baguette it was served with. The ARROZ CHAUFA is the dish that will bring us back! The freshest and tastiest rice dish we have had (you can see their sister restaurants Salt influence here and it’s a winner) It’s more of a deconstructed fried rice surrounded by fresh vegetables and other more traditional fried rice ingredients. This is a large, family portion, served with plenty of tortillas to hug your buildable tacos if desired. We are looking forward to leftovers today!! Our only drawback was the cheap, plastic like plates. They are black and resemble stoneware but are noisy to cut on, flimsy and not very stable. It’s got to be good, if the plates were our only concern!! Easy fix.
The best drinks you will have on the south shore! Gorgeous atmosphere and the most personable wait staff and bartenders. If you go in, say hi to Richie the bartender for me!!!! Would recommend for any time - a cocktail or a special occasion!
The food here is so good! Even my picky 14 year old tried some new foods (The Yuka fries are delicious!). My 11 year old ate and LOVED his marinaded hanger steak with heirloom tomatoes and Peruvian purple potato puree! Great place for a date night but also family friendly and accommodating to our allergies.
Went for the first time last week and already had to go back again! Delicious food and great service! Friendly manager and staff, very cool atmosphere. Love sitting at the bar looking out at the harbor/water views. Had the Cuban , elote, carnitas and pollo tacos. All fantastic, will be a regular for sure.
Everthing from the moment we walked in till we left was great! The staff provided recommendations, the drinks were light and refreshing, and the food was top shelf! Can’t remember the name, but there was a to die for dip-staff recommendation that was a home run…you won’t be sorry you are here!
Had a few vegan options and even vegan ice cream! Service was great and food came out fast. Drinks were delicious and it was a great atmosphere. So happy to see restaurants with more than one vegan option!
Food was excellent. Bartender Allie was friendly and attentive. Manager checked in with us to make sure we were happy and well taken care of.
My new favorite go to place. The food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced & drinks are great. The staff is attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!
I know, another Mexican restaurant in Plymouth...but the food here is AMAZING! High quality and full of flavor. The service was also great so I am looking forward to going again soon.
Beautiful spot with nice deck overlooking the water, good food and service.
Excellent service, delicious food, and an outstanding staff. Truly an unbelievably amazing experience! We will definitely be back.
Awesome new spot in Plymouth- thoughtfully crafted drinks and dishes. Salena style quac is incredible!
Cocktails are slapping and this chaufa is checking off all the boxes. 10/10 a vibe.
Wonderful in every way!
Great food 😋 lively atmosphere and the service was spot on. The shrimp ceviche is fantastic, drinks are really creative and those tacos are some of the best we've had. Menu is great , not too many items , but just enough. Our server Ryan was really great, accommodating and personable and his suggestions were on point. Make sure you get the salena guacamole, it so good. My partner and I had a great time, thank you.
We ate at Selena’s for their popup Leenas night on Thursday 9/18 and had delicious meals. To start we had the buffalo mozzarella caprese salad and bread service- both amazing! Then we ordered the chicken Parmesan and rigatoni alla vodka. Again both were excellent and great portions. We ate at the bar and both bartenders were super attentive. It was a beautiful night so the sliding doors were open outside. We loved everything and will definitely be back!
I found the food and drinks were very good. Best eloté dip ever!!! We also got the platanitos Fritos, the Belgian waffle and pamboza torta. The atmosphere is good. The service was great. What wasn’t great, was when I hit the floor when we were about to leave. 😆 It hurt. EVERY TIME I sit at a hightop table at a restaurant, when I’m ready to leave, I forget that I’m at a high top table and I fall. I’m old. What can I say? lol So overall, painful, but the food and service was great 🤣🤣 We recommend it, but in the future, I’ll be sitting at a lower table downstairs.
We had my mom's birthday dinner and it was lovely. The staff was so friendly and helpful. There were great food options for everyone, including the kids. Our server was extremely attentive and made us all feel very welcome. Food was delicious and plentiful servings.
Stopped in here tonight on a whim. We’ve been before and had their appetizers in the upstairs restaurant. Tonight we stopped by for drinks and sat outside on the patio in the outdoor bar area. So glad we did. It was a beautiful evening in downtown Plymouth and their atmosphere was amazing. The best part was the great interaction we had with our bartender/ server Allie. She was friendly, upbeat and smiled the entire time. She checked on us the appropriate amount of times and was able to answer all our questions. She really seemed invested in making sure we enjoyed our time at Salena’s The drinks we had were very good and so was the churro we had for dessert. Between Allie and the great atmosphere, we will make sure to go back soon.
We came here for the first time last night for dinner and it was amazing! The cocktails were reasonably priced and very tasty. We started with the chicken tinga nachos and we both agreed that they were some of the best nachos we have ever had. There was a very generous amount of pulled chicken on them. My boyfriend got the Arroz Frito Con Pato (essentially duck fried rice) and he said it was one of the best entrees he has ever had, especially because of the various sauces that came on it. I got a caesar salad and a chicken taco. The salad is a large portion size and the taco was good too. We are looking forward to coming back!
We recently held a Celebration of Life at Salena. It could not have been more perfect! Courtney and every staff member were welcoming, helpful, kind, professional and flexible. We had over 100 people and everyone was so impressed with the people, the location, the atmosphere and of course the food. The food was amazing and plentiful. There is nothing more we could have asked for. Highly recommend Salena for events and for personal dining. You will not be disappointed.
Incredible food. Best burger I have ever had anywhere. Beautiful, clean restaurant. Wait staff is always polite and on top of things. Have eatin here a few times. Always great.
Food, drink and service was wonderful. We were upstairs by the bar, in which it was a little loud to hear others talk. It's a beautiful place, tapas style restaurant. They have outdoor and balcony seating as well.
The elote dip and the taco i got were delicious. The drink, service, and energy was not very good. The drink took over 10 minutes to come, and I believe the manager was the one to finally bring them, I could not taste the basil In the drink I ordered. The food came out very quickly. We had to ask a different waitress for something else as we couldn’t find ours, but when we did see her, she was eager to clear non existent empty things making us feel rushed. I would get takeout from here.
We ordered the tuna tostada and ended up with the wrong tuna app. It was rectified but the actual dish with the tostada and tuna tasted real fishy and the incorrect app was much better The chicken taco was ok the ok carnitas tasted like bbq. I’m not sure if I’d go back. Very disappointed as I had read great reviews. We ended up leaving most of the food.
Had really high hopes but was so disappointed in our experience. My husband and I went in for Valentine’s Day. As parents, we rarely get to go out so we were really looking forward to this. We were sat at our table and the server did not come over until about 5 minutes afterwards at which point we were met with “did you guys want to put in drinks?” No greeting, no explanation of menu, nothing but that. We both have worked in the industry for a long time so were immediately thrown off by the lack of even a “Hello”. My husband replied “Hi, how are you?” And the server replied “oh sorry, the bar is just really slow to get drinks out right now so if you want drinks, the sooner you order the better”. And that AGAIN threw us off; pretty unprofessional thing to say about your own team. We ordered drinks, and the drinks were slow to come out but were good. The server then asked what we wanted to order, and the first item we tried to put in was not available and the server said “don’t worry, they’re really not that good here anyways”. I thought that was so unprofessional to say. So at this point, not only have you insulted the bar but you’ve now insulted the kitchen. And again, my husband and I have both worked in restaurants and bars for a long time so we generally give so much grace to folks in this industry because we all have off nights but this was just wild. We put our food order in and still did not have water at the table. And after we finally did get water, our server never refilled it. Another server did at one point, a woman who was really kind and friendly. While waiting for the food, a food runner kept continually stopping at our table and asking if we ordered the dishes he was carrying, and the majority of time time it was not our food. So he continued to stop at every single table asking if it was theirs until he found the right table. This was disruptive to our conversation and we could hear other guests making remarks about it as well. When the food came, it was pretty good and that was the saving grace. It seems like back of house has it figured out but front of house does not. The manager did come to our table twice to check in, both times I simply said “the food is great, thank you so much!” But the second time I said that, the manager could sense that the food was great but something else was not so asked “and the service?” to which I relayed the above info. I really did not want to but it was that dissatisfying. The manager was professional and gracious, and he did remove a round of drinks from the bill. But we left feeling so bummed… we seldom get to go out so when we do, and it’s this disappointing, that’s really unfortunate. Our server made us feel like we were a bother to him, he barely spoke to us, and even at one point ignored us when he brought one of the drinks out and my husband said “wow, that looks great, thank you so much” he literally just turned and walked away. It was so bizarre. His attitude and professionalism was incredibly lacking which is so unfortunate for the back of house because again, the food was good but that means very little when both FOH and BOH aren’t at the same caliber. I wish we had chosen somewhere else, and we won’t return.
I had a recent dinner here while on vacation. The server (?Brady) was very friendly and personable, although still some experience lacking (ie not removing an empty cocktail glass once a new glass was placed on the table). The girls at the host station had blank stares, leaving me to do the talking (ie no greeting). We were seated on the patio just outside the inside seating area. The tables were not clean so I wiped them down myself. The table next to us had visible food on it and the hostess put down 2 menus on the table for the diners at that table. How did she not notice it was dirty? The food was ok. The corn dip was good but fish tacos didn’t have much fish or flavor to speak of. This place has a lot of potential as it has a view but a few things could be improved.
Had high hopes after frequenting SALT & LEENA’s… but complete disappointment! Sunday at the bar w only 8 other customers & we still waited 10 minutes to get the attention of one of the 3 staff behind the bar to actually acknowledge us. While making one of our 2 drinks, the woman was completely distracted by what appeared to be the manager trying to locate something behind the bar…so we waited more. Finally we got one drink, not my sister’s, this before the food came out. We had no utensils or napkins.. the other drink was finally made as we were finishing our food. No one followed up w us to see if we needed anything. This all while it was empty save for the 8 other customers. The fish tortillas were soggy & the one tiny vegetable tortilla (2bites?) was not worth the wait or cost! The atmosphere just added to the disappointment… Sad to have mauve walls & old lady wallpaper while located near the harbor.
Food was terrible. We didn’t eat anything that we ordered. (Salmon ceviche had weird little white balls) and the chicken with rice/tostones etc was too spicy and the server didn’t tell us it was a spicy dish. Cocktails were good and that’s the only reason i’d go back.
It takes a lot for me to finally decide to leave a bad review for the experience I had. I have yet to have the chance to even try this restaurant but I don't think I ever will. I reached out to them months ago to explore using them for the welcome party for my wedding. After dozens of calls, emails, instagram messages AND even going IN-PERSON to speak to someone, their event organizer never responded. We followed up numerous times and not once, did we get a formal follow-up. It look messages on 3 different social media channels for me to finally get an answer. When we did, the organizer ghosted us AGAIN! When I followed up with her (now having her phone number) we set a date to call. She could not figure out how to send me the event details, she did not have very many answers to our questions - we got a ton of, "I need to ask the owner". She promised to give us an update to our questions, and NOTHING. The kicker is that she even ignored my follow up text asking for an update. She ended up texting me accidentally - the text was to her coworker asking them if they can let her inside because she was locked out!! So incredibly unprofessional, they do not seem to care for our business even though we were so excited to potentially have our event there. Would not recommend - try back maybe in a couple years when they can get better customer service and more organized.
My husband and I have come here 5 times to eat, and I've given a star for each time we were actually able to sit down and have a meal out of those 5 times...one. They close early or entirely sometimes without posting any sort of warning on their website or socials, and they do pop up menus without posting such information on their website. It's really a shame, because the one time we were able to eat here, the food was delicious, but if you want to be successful in the restaurant business, you have to be open...and maybe keep consistent hours. The atmosphere is meh at best, it's utterly freezing inside, I genuinely don't know if they have heat. Even the faucet water in the bathroom was ice cold. And when you enter, don't expect anyone to actually be at the host stand, instead of being greeted, we waited until a waiter happened to walk by and thankfully noticed us waiting. They have a downstairs dining area, which they don't seem to utilize for some reason. We were brought upstairs to the bar area, where it was incredibly dark. Also to use the restroom, you have to go back downstairs, there is not restroom on the second floor. The only positive thing I can say is that the one time we were able to eat there, our waiter was fantastic. Wish I could've given this place a good review, but it sucks to drive there thinking they'll be open, only to find out that despite the posted hours stating they're open, they're closed, again. Needless to say, we won't be back.
