50 Grand Restaurant and Bar

So happy 50 Grand is back! They’re still in their soft opening period but our dinner tonight was very good. Their signature dish is the chicken fried prime rib, and it’s excellent. Their menu has some good steakhouse choices and a pretty wide variety for all tastes. The cocktail menu is revamped and AMAZING! Wide selection and very good drinks. The new staff are still getting into their rhythm but service was still just fine. Pollock Pines needs good food, and 50 Grand is contributing to a better Pollock Pines.

We are so happy that the 50 Grand is back in business they have been busy behind the scenes making the restaurant and bar gorgeous. The food and the staff will not disappoint either. Our community needed them to reopen. Do yourself a favor and go check them out. Support our local eatery. I promise you, you will be glad you did.

Very good -- I went with the fish & chips (my boring safety choice for trying a new diner or steakhouse) and it was not bad, I would say average to slightly above average. My wife however order the special ---Thai Green Curry Salmon--- and it was absolutely delicious! The salmon was perfectly cooked; the fettuccine as Thai noodles was a nice touch, seasoned (and medium/hot spicy) made a superb combination of flavor. Portions were large and the price was definitely reasonable for dinner, 🍷 drinks and dessert for the two of us. Fun atmosphere with a nice attention to detail with the bar and restrooms, etc. Definitely recommended

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner is an excellent option. I don’t normally order chicken when dining out, but this dish is a “Winner”. Crispy skin and moist flavorful meat. Plated with asparagus and roasted potatoes completed a very nice meal. To top it off, one of my favs, Old Rasputin on tap. So had to come on and update my review with a 50 Grand “must have” dessert. They just added their take on “Bananas Foster” to the menu and it is really good. It is worth a visit for the dessert alone!

I had dinner at 50 Grand Restaurant and Bar on a Saturday evening around 7 PM. It’s a popular stop along Pony Express Trail, with a rustic mountain-town vibe that fits the area well. Service stood out immediately—our server was friendly and on top of things without hovering. We didn’t have to wait long for anything, which I appreciated. We started with the calamari appetizer. It was fried just right—not greasy—and came with cocktail and tartar sauces that seemed to be house-made. Both were fresh and added a good balance to the dish. For the main course, I had the ribeye steak, which came out with clear grill marks and a solid sear. The plate included roasted potatoes, glazed carrots, and Brussels sprouts—everything was seasoned well and served hot. My girlfriend ordered the Bacon Stuffed Meatloaf, which she really liked. Pricewise, it was a bit on the higher end for a small-town restaurant, but not unreasonable considering the portion sizes and quality. The ribeye in particular was filling and flavorful. Overall, 50 Grand is a solid choice if you're in the area and want a sit-down meal with good service and hearty food. Worth a stop if you're passing through Pollock Pines.

They have great food and great service. absolutely love what they've done with the place, looks amazing inside. They have an awesome menu and absolutely love that they have a discounted and unique menu for Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Five Stars, would highly recommend.

I have been going to 50 Grand since before the new owners and their fabulous remodel. I just LOVE the new look, but more importantly, the food has been improved and refined. It will be great when ALL of El Dorado County discovers this gem amongst the Pines. Thursday is traditional Prime Rib night. Other days, they have breaded Prime Rib chicken fried steak that is no ordinary CFS. As an appetizer, I recommend the tiger shrimp in a creamy vodka sauce. 50 Grand has a full bar, ample parking and luxurious powder rooms. Pollock Pines has a great dinner house. It's truly a destination treasure for that special day or evening out. Prepare for a Grand experience. 💎

Nice clean and friendly atmosphere. The staff was friendly and courteous. Server was Abby. We made reservations top ensure our seating. They were booked for the night so it's a good thing we did. Oh, did I mention, the rib eye steak melts in your mouth!

I've only gone into the bar, and a couple times so far, but this place is earning my business! Staff are friendly, drinks are good (and stiff!), people are nice. Favorite drink so far would be the Rosemary (Something) Mule! I've had some appetizers at the bar, and they've all been great! Try their Artichoke Dip or Calamari! My husband and I look forward to trying their Oysters soon! :)

Food is worth the price!!!! We first came in for our 1 year anniversary and we got to chat it up a bit with Kim the owner! She was very lovely and asked what brought us in and made sure our food was perfect. I ordered the Alfredo with spaghetti noodles and added grilled chicken, I was a little skeptical about the spaghetti noodles but oh my! My dish was the best I've had! 10/10 recommend! The chicken was tender and seasoned very well! My boyfriend got the filet mignon and seasonal veggies, the Brussel sprouts were top notch and the meat was so tender and flavorful!!! He is a big food critic and gave this a 10/10 as well!!! Beating Land and Ocean for both of us. We came in the next night, because I wanted the filet mignon now! We got to chat it up with Jim this time! He was also a delight and helped on which drink would be best! We also ordered the filet mignon for my son who loved it as well!!!! And we ordered the 14oz Ribeye.. We will definitely make the drive back up for date nights in the future :) thanks team for being awesome! I forgot about the heated toilet seats yall!!!!!

We celebrated Valentines Day at 50 Grand. We'd had reservations at smith flat house, but they closed (no phone call telling us!) It has been years since we ventured up to 50 Grand. Madison, our waitress was great, and Jim (new owner since 2018) was attentive. They had a special 3 house menu for the evening. And everyday was outstanding--exceeding expectations. We opened with red cauliflower soup--so good.Then I had Duck--tender s flavorful, and my husband had steak Diane--also fabulous blend of flavors. The O Brownie lived up to it's name!! All in all a lovely evening. If you haven't ventured east up 50 in a bit, I encourage you to go local and support this restaurant, open since 1940!

Barb greeted us, and Haven was our server. The atmosphere and service were excellent! We ordered the artichoke dip and pork belly as starters, and both were so good! We were the only people in the restaurant, and it took quite a bit to get our food. My sister got filet mignon, which she said was cooked just right, but the sides tasted old and were not hot. My brother-in-law had the chicken fried prime rib, and he said it was delicious! I had the beyond burger with fries. The burger was ok, and the fries were cold. We did not notify them of the issues, so I can't update on problem resolution. Overall, I will go again.

Loved the food, loved the great service. A nice, cozy place. I will return.

I hardly ever leave reviews but I feel the need to now. First off the place was nice and the staff was very friendly the food and prices on the other hand was something else all together. My wife and I were invited to a birthday party here and had no expectation of the place so when I recieved the bill I was shocked! This place gave no vibe that it was fine dining! Ordered 2 burgers one was $18 and other was $24 just for the burger...fries $6 salad $10 2 soft drinks $10 then a desert was $11 and a scoop of ice cream was $6!! The burgers had no flavor seemed like a frozen patty warm at best cold fries and the desert was a puff pastry that I could barely break up with cold apple filling. Seemed to be the theme of that restaurant because even the temp inside was cold. I dont mind paying if the food is good but an $89 check for scrappy food!? Definitely disappointing. Will not return, burgers place across the street smokes this place.

Ordered a cup of French onion soup and hanger steak. The soup and main meal came barely warm. The soup tasted good but barely warm. The meat was nice and tender but again barely warm. The mashed potatoes were good, the veggies over salted. The room was uncomfortably cold. Still left a tip.
