Opinions de Brooklyn Trattoria Portland
Brooklyn Trattoria is an absolute must-visit for Italian cuisine lovers! The lamb and seafood dishes are standout stars—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Don’t even think about skipping dessert, and always ask your waiter for their wine pairing recommendation; they really know their stuff. Appetizers are just as impressive, so come hungry and leave happy. Top-notch food and service all around!
Wonderful atmosphere, staff, food and drinks. Eric was an amazing waitor and we even got to meet the owner, David. We initially got a chair and table but asked to switch to a booth, which was accomodated immediately. To drink we had a pineapple rosemary sour, wallstreet cranberry collins. Both were great, however my collins was a tad on the bitter side, which some prefer. We ordered shrimp scampi (not pictured) which came with foccacia, beef pappardelle, pesto gnocchi, chocolate cake and nyc cheesecake. Our shrimp was cooked perfectly and well seasoned The pasta was handmade and the beef was super tender. The pesto gnocchi was spectacular. No notes. That pesto cream sauce is drinkable. Best chocolate cake I've had in awhile . Cheesecake was good and came with a strawberry drizzle ( which I would have preferred on the side or even just the bottom. I think it overpowered the cheesecake). Overall wonderful experience. I also want to add I went to the restroom and they had a toto Bidet!
It had been a few years since trying Brooklyn Trattoria. Our first experience a few years ago was just okay. We live locally but didn't feel it was good enough to come back. We did have a family event and came back and the food this time was much better. I ordered the chicken piccata which was not on the menu (they have veal and halibut piccata) but they were able to make it. Everyone enjoyed there food. Will come back again.
My partner and I celebrated my birthday at Brooklyn Trattoria, and the entire experience was absolutely lovely from start to finish. We made a reservation in advance, and they went above and beyond by setting up a cozy booth for us, complete with a birthday card and fresh rose petals—such a thoughtful touch that instantly made the evening feel special. The service was fantastic throughout. The staff was warm, attentive, and timed everything beautifully. Our drinks came quickly, and the appetizers were served with just the right pause before the entrees arrived. We started with calamari and focaccia bread. The calamari was a standout—it came with a delicious dipping sauce and was paired with fried green olives and peppers that added a unique and flavorful twist. We loved it. The focaccia was fresh and satisfying as well. (I wish they served balsamic with the bread but that’s my only feedback) For entrees, I had the breaded parmesan sole, which was served over a creamy butternut squash orzo—absolutely delicious and a perfect match for the seafood. My partner had the halibut piccata and opted to substitute the asparagus for brussels sprouts. The brussels were crispy, flavorful, and so good that we instantly regretted not ordering them as an appetizer! We also enjoyed some excellent cocktails—balanced, well-made, and tasty. For the quality of food, service, and ambiance, the price felt very reasonable. Two appetizers, two entrees, and two drinks came to around $120. To top off the night, the staff surprised us with a complimentary chocolate mousse for dessert to celebrate my birthday, which was a sweet and generous gesture. The owner, David, was present and welcoming. It’s clear he truly cares about creating a great experience for his guests. After dinner, we checked out The Red Room, a cozy speakeasy-style cocktail lounge next door, also owned by David. The vibe was low-lit and intimate. The bartender there was friendly and crafted a beautiful, delicious drink for us. It’s a great spot to unwind after dinner or to visit on its own. We didn’t end up ordering dessert, but the tiramisu caught our eye and seems to be a crowd favorite—next time, for sure! Overall, Brooklyn Trattoria is a gem—cozy ambiance, attentive service, delicious food, and thoughtful details that make a special occasion feel even more memorable. When we’re looking to treat ourselves again, this will be the first place we think of!
Food and ambience were incredible! Not too loud, not too quiet. I got the special brisket pasta and it was so good! Kevin was our server and made our anniversary dinner special. Will most definitely be back
We had the opportunity to enjoy the private red room for our party to celebrate a family member's recent milestone. Brooklyn Trattoria has an excellent ambience, delicious food and impressive wine selection. The focaccia and calamari appetizers were amazing. The service was absolutely perfect, truly our server was attentive, professional, considerate and offered great recommendations. I thoroughly enjoyed the ceasar salad and seafood linguine. We got a few bottles of wine for the table and had an incredible evening. Our large party ranged in age from 2 to 96, each person was happy with their entree and menu options. Thank you to Dave and his talented crew for their kindness and flawless service. Our glasses stayed full and so did our bellies. I took the tiramisu to go, because I cannot go to an Italian restaurant without trying the dessert. I'm happy to report - the tiramisu is PHENOMENAL. I will absolutely return to dine at this time establishment and highly recommend you do the same.
Great food, great atmosphere. Check out the red room next door, owned by the same owner. Both are beautiful and wonderful. Must try. P.s. try the hibiscus drop, yumm
This was an exceptional date night location. Fantastic drinks, flavorful entrees, rich desserts and a lively wait staff. We sat at the bar, which I highly recommend if you want to enjoy the entertainment and conversation of the bartenders. They also gave us three drinks, on the house. (The spicy strawberry margarita was AMAZING!) The owner, David, was on-site, checking in at every table. It is obvious he cares about his establishment and that people are enjoying themselves. We can't wait to go back!
Highly recommend Brooklyn Trattoria! It’s a neighborhood gem with great food, drinks, and vibe. The staff is super nice and you immediately feel welcome as soon as you come in. There are a lot of food options so there’s truly something for everybody. I personally would recommend the Seafood Linguine and Tiramisu! Another bonus is that it’s connected to a bar, The RedRoom, so it’s a great way to keep the night going whether you’re on a date night or meeting up with friends. Shout out to the owner, David, and to Vuthy for making this a great experience!
Great lasagna. The filet was super soft, like eating velvet. Cooked just like I wanted it. Made for a great anniversary meal and they had roses on the table for me ❤️ (it was an option in the reservation)
I had the best halibut piccata here that I’ve ever had anywhere. In fact, it was the best halibut. The chicken Parmesan my wife had was great as well as my sister-in-law‘s seafood fettuccine. I am looking forward to returning the next time I’m in the Portland area.
This place has left me speechless. Everything from the bread to the pasta to the wine was exquisite. The owner of the establishment is very friendly and took the time to explain to me all about his restaurant's history while creating fresh squeezed pomegranate juice behind the bar. He clearly cares about his work and actively contributed in assisting the team to ensure a smooth operation. The bartender and the rest of the employees were wonderful. I went here a few weeks ago and I'm still thinking about the dish I ate. That was how outstanding it was! The price point is appropriate for the level of flavor and deliciousness. The interior is romantic and cozy, great place to go alone and sit at the bar (like I did). The best Italian food on this side of the river, if not all of PDX!
This was a unique find in a shopping center in Bethany. They transformed the inside so well that you wouldn't know you're right next to a grocery store and other retailers. It felt elegant and inviting. We really enjoyed the pesto chicken pasta. The Caesar salad could use a little more garlic for my taste, but everything else was fantastic, including the service. A great selection of wines and the Italian Super Tuscan we had was phenomenal!
I celebrated my birthday here and was treated with such hospitality! The owner himself served us because they were low staffed but treated us as VIP guests. The food was DELICIOUS and came out fast! I ordered the crab cakes and clams and mussels as appetizers and bone-in braised short ribs as main course. Would recommend to everyone! This restaurant has amazing food and service!
Super fun atmosphere. Great service. The food was so good we forgot to take pictures until dessert. But, we had the seasonal bruschetta, chop salad, and seasonal ravioli with butternut sqaush and the veal piccata. And then the teramisu. That one is pictured and surprisingly gluten free....but you'd never know!
From the moment we stepped through the door, we felt we had stepped into a portal to another city. We couldn’t believe a restaurant with this great ambience existed out in Bethany/Hillsboro. We have been to some amazing restaurants around the world, and this one truly impressed us. Celebrating my husband’s birthday, I wanted to try something new and fun. Our pre-ordered half-bottle of Tattinger Champagne awaited us at our table when we arrived. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and we both agreed it was one of the best we had ever had. What set it apart was the fried olives and sun dried tomatoes tossed with the calamari….on point! We each had a cocktail, Dave’s Old Fashioned and the Smoked Maple Walnut Manhattan. Both excellent drinks! For our main course I went with the Filet topped with Blue Cheese and my husband had the Lamb Osso Bucco. Both amazing dishes that had us wanting more. These were pairs with a beautiful half-bottle of Alexander Valley Cab. Towards the end of our night they brought out a chocolate mousse for the birthday boy and the owner Dave came over to introduce himself. Thankfully this restaurant is close to home as we will undoubtedly be bellying up to the bar more frequently and looking forward to their new “Red Room” whiskey bar opening soon. Bravo!
Absolutely delicious. Went here for an anniversary dinner and the cocktails and entrées were to die for. I highly recommend the Gorganzola Squash Ravioli and the Hibiscus Drop. Will definitely be returning. Absolutely worth the price. Editing after another anniversary. We've now celebrated all 3 at Brooklyn Trattoria. The food is always delicious, I highly recommend the butternut squash ravioli. The hibiscus drop and the pineapple rosemary mock-mule were both wonderful. We will absolutely be back next year for anniversary number four.
Last night was my 5th visit and the best experience so far. Menu is varied enough to satisfy vegetarians, pescatarians, and carnivores alike. Portion size is decent for asking price. Mushroom ravioli was smokey and full of flavor. Bruschetta's balsamic reduction was thick as it should be. Staff was friendly, approachable and attentive but not obtrusive. Only disappointment was the very limited draft beer menu.
This place deserves at least 5 stars for the wonderful atmosphere, attention to detail; fantastic food and excellent service. In reality it should have a 5 star average and a 6 star high (if possible). Few restaurants can say to have an owner who truly devotes his soul to making his/her place an special place for its customers. Just sit inside and scan the place. A perfect array of light fixtures placed at just the perfect locations creating the perfect atmosphere, spotless floors, acoustic panels throughout making your conversations easy to carry, the right blend of colors and decor on the walls, etc. But if you think that’s it, think again. The food is fantastic. I had the Veal Piccata, my wife had the Steak. I can say that was one of the best Veal Piccatas I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to many “little Italys” around the country and Italy itself. My wife was equally pleased with the quality and flavor of her steak. We weren’t bothered by the prices. They were on par with the quality and flavor of the dishes, and any restaurant that puts so much thought (and money) into making your experience a memorable one, and hits the mark, earns the right to set suitable prices for its offerings. And this place goes beyond atmosphere by also offering you quality and excellently favored Italian dishes handled by servers trained to serve you with poise, respect and friendliness. We visited a year ago and were greeted by the owner back then. A year later and, the owner David, greeted us again; along with greeting every other table in the place. That’s commitment. A few minutes after meeting him he offered to show me the “private” dining area which I didn’t know even existed. He described the room and his choices for lighting and decor with passion. I cannot imagine anyone who doesn’t care about its customers doing this. A true restauranteur and craftsman of its trade. A+ My review a year ago: Went with our family which includes a 3yo. Sat outside due to Covid. They have nicely separated covered and enclosed tables. The waitress was very professional and friendly. The owner came by, said hello, asked how the food was and thanked us. The food was great! Perfect seasoning, perfectly cooked pasta. Definitely recommended if you’re in Bethany!
Short version: Lovely variety of Italian food. Good quality and homemade approach to the food. Wild mushroom ravioli and the gnocchi were a delight for the taste buds. Pleasent atmosphere and great wine selection. Great unassuming place located in pocket corner of Beaverton. While it might not seem much from the outside, it's a different story inside. On a Saturday night you have many patrons, but it's still appropriate for intimate conversations. This is a nice spot to stew in conversation with loved ones or friends. We got to meet the owner and he is quite charismatic. He has spent some time in New York, so you can see it reflected in the ambiance and decor. High quality food you'd find on part (if not above) to what you experience in the city. Overall pleasent surprise to find in our backyard. Definitely going to revisit a few more times this year. If you're looking for an alternative to La grassa in portlans, this will hit the spot. Molto buono, tres bein.
Not a huge menu, but what they have they prepare very well. We had the shrimp, lasagna, halibut, cheesecake and tiramisu. The staff was lovely, the owner stopped by and said hello. Everything tasted wonderful, we will definitely be back.
We went there for a date, but weren’t expecting the warm reception that we got! The table was decorated with rose petals and our servers couldn’t have been nicer. The manager of the restaurant visited us at our table, had a brief chat and was humble enough to pick up our used plates (without us asking of course) Food was excellent, ambience was great and would definitely visit again. Also, the restaurant has easy reservation system via Open table. Other restaurants should follow
I had such a wonderful experience at this place! We signed out marriage certificate here with a couple of family and friends and I could not have picked a better spot. They went above and beyond on checking on us and providing little gifts like a "Congratulations" card and even David coming over to chat with us multiple times, even serving us fresh Paloumas along with the storey that goes with them. The food was delicious and filling, no complaints and I will be rushing back for that tirimisu! Seriously can't recommend this place enough, we'll be back very soon! Edit: valentines day also blew me away too and they even gave us free bread and dessert for celebrating again with them. I've never been to a more thoughtful, welcoming and simultaneously classy restaurant. Fell in love with the cherry sour this time!
Excellent meal. My wife had Halibut, which was delicious, I had lobster ravioli, which was very good. Excellent wine selection and dynamite service.
Amazing and truly a New York Italian experience. Hubby and I loved the stuffed spinach ravioli particularily! Owner brought over delightful chocolates truffles that melt in your mouth! Highly recommend and great service too!
Had a team builder, seafood was the popular choice, and everyone agreed that the food was excellent. The focaccia with herb oil was a nice touch.
First time here & will be coming back. WOW. Great food and service. Really had a nice meal. We had the braised beef pappardelle and the wild mushroom ravioli.
This is a high end restaurant you might expect to find in a posh area of a big city so don't let the location confuse you. We made a reservation for a group of 10 two weeks in advance for a Saturday at 5:30. From the moment I walked in, I felt taken care of by the staff. The host greeted me immediately and gave me the info I needed. They set up our group in the private area, which was a major upgrade as we had several kids with us. The bartender said hi and poured me a beer as I sat at the bar to wait for my group. As everyone arrived, David, the owner, came in to chat with us and make menu recommendations. We ended up taking a tour of the place including the Red Room next door. He picked up that we were there to celebrate a birthday and made sure the birthday boy left with a complimentary dessert. The staff even asked about our lighting preferences. Kevin, our waiter, was attentive, professional, and really good taking the kids' orders (which can be a difficult task). The food was wonderful from start to finish. Everyone in the group agreed that the experience was beyond expectations. Thank you David and the entire BT team for treating us to an awesome night! Food Highlights: Saffron Seafood Linguine Filet Mignon Grilled Octopus Halibut
This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Portland area. The food and atmosphere are amazing and the prices are very reasonable . It is not a large space but never feels crowded. Erick is an accomplished server that works the room and his tables very well. The owner David chats with ALL diners throughout the evening. If you haven’t been there, do yourself a favor and make a reservation now!
Food was amazing and came out within a decent time without a long wait. Highly recommend the focaccia bread to start followed by the penne alla vodka. We even got to meet who I believe is the owner— very friendly guy that checked up on us. Initially we were sat at a table but they were happy to switch us to the booths. Such a great vibe with great food.
Tonight Brooklyn Trattoria delivered one of my top five Portland area dining experiences in recent years. The ambience is comforting, energizing, and intimate. Service is attentive yet never overbearing. Cocktails were made with balanced ingredients and generous pours. The blue cheese salad is simple but expertly composed and impeccably dressed. The focaccia is plentiful, but the herb infused olive oil could benefit from a splash more vinegar. The entrees were served perfectly hot, expertly seasoned, and thoughtfully plated. The use of castlevaltrano olives in the red wine braised beef pappardelle was an inspired choice, but the pasta was slightly under. Another 30s in the water would have given a welcome pillowy quality. The cook on the halibut picatta was nailed to perhaps the second. The potato puree was velvety yet structured and bursting with flavor, and the lemon caper sauce was silky and elevated the dish. The asparagus, while perfectly seasoned and cooked, suffered from slightly woody stems, which could be avoided with more careful prep. Wine pairings were perfectly on point and didnt try too hard. The price was exactly what it should have been for the incredible experience. We will be returning.
I'm am full blooded Italian, and I gotta tell you the Bolognas was the best I have ever eaten. Homemade tube noodles were the best. We'll go back for more. Definitely a 5 star restaurant.
I couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate my parents 64th anniversary❤️ When I made the reservation and asked for a quiet booth, I had no idea how accommodating the restaurant would be. When we arrived, there were roses on the table and a hand signed card, wishing them a happy anniversary. I brought a bottle of special wine, which they cheerfully opened for a reasonable corkage fee. It was hard to choose from the many delicious menu items and my dad who is a bit of a spendthrift, volunteered his opinion that his dinner was amazing, a generous size, and a good value. After dinner as we were considering dessert, the server brought another surprise, a commentary chocolate mousse! Special occasion or not, this restaurant is a 10 on the five point scale. (P. S . be sure to get the focaccia bread- it was so good that we asked for a second order😋
Brooklyn Trattoria Italian Restaurant – Review Brooklyn Trattoria offers classic Italian dishes with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Their pasta is fresh and flavorful, and the wood-fired pizzas are a highlight. The menu features traditional favorites like lasagna, meatballs, and tiramisu. Service is attentive and friendly, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. Overall, a solid choice for authentic Italian comfort food.
Love love love Pam is the best waitstaff ever I and my family have had her wait on us more then once she is great with teens and people that have a lot of questions she is very patient! Oh and the sauce is awesome my husband is old school Italian! Thanks Pam
Had a reservation and were seated immediately. Ambience is nice. There is. Usually but had no trouble with having a conversation. Service was fantastic. Food was good but I wouldn’t say it was amazing. Tried the focaccia and a couple of pasta dishes and the tiramisu.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Brooklyn Trattoria in Bethany, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy dinner or a special occasion. There was a mix-up with our reservation, and we did not have the 6-person table that we expected. However, after a little conversation, the staff was able to adjust things and got us seated. We were very appreciative of their flexibility and willingness to accommodate us. I started with the focaccia, which was perfectly baked, soft on the inside, and slightly crispy on the outside. The olive oil and herbs made it a delightful appetizer. For my main course, I chose the pappardelle bolognese, which was outstanding. The pasta was fresh and cooked to perfection, and the bolognese sauce was rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of meat and spices. Others in my party enjoyed the penne al vodka, chicken piccata, and the chop salad, all of which were equally impressive. Each dish was prepared with care and tasted amazing. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and provided excellent recommendations. The overall experience was elevated by the friendly and efficient staff who made us feel welcome and valued. The music playing was perfectly my style, with Thievery Corporation providing the perfect soundtrack for the night. Brooklyn Trattoria has truly captured the essence of Italian dining. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Italian meal in a comfortable and inviting setting. I'll definitely be returning soon!
I was initially hesitant to come here but was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and the food. We had the calamari for our appetizer and chicken Madeira and veal piccata for our entree. Chicken Madeira has a very rich creamy sauce and initially thought it was a little too much but actually enjoyed it in the end. The owner was very warm and friendly which really helped create a homey environment. Overall I liked the food and ambiance and would be happy to return. Most Italian places give bread for free while customers wait for their entrees but Brooklyn didn’t offer that. That plus the wait time to have our order taken are the spaces that can use some improvement.
My girlfriend is from Italy and we've been looking for places to try some Italian food besides Olive garden and this place recently popped up so we decided to go check it out. I thought the food was pretty good. I had the chicken dish and she had the octopus dish. We also had the calamari appetizer which I thought was really delicious and flavorful. The only disappointment to me was the size of the octopus dish. If you can see in the pictures it's one tentacle which to me would not be very filling so I'm glad I did not order that...fat American I am. I called the place before we went to see if we needed a reservation and the lady at the desk recommended a reservation but when we showed up to eat they didn't bother to ask if we had a reservation. They just set us down. I'd say if you go on a Friday or Saturday you may need a reservation but during the week you don't really need one and they have a bar area. Also you can sit at the bar. Once I try some of the other places on my list I may decide this is five stars as compared to those other places, but since this is the first one on the list and I'll give it four stars.
Food was really good, there were some little things that were a little strange for me and my group of 4. No physical menus? We were given one tablet to view the menu between 4 people until we asked for a second one. The tablets are inconvenient and bulky for the small space we had. I asked about which wines weren't dry, and our server was not only under the age of 21, but she had no idea what that meant and could offer no insight. And apparently no one else was available who could it explain it to me-- we had to wait for someone to taste each of the wines and then tell us which ones were the least dry?? Very bizarre. The managers should make a cheat sheet for servers so they can offer a little information to guests at least. I would eat here again for sure, but maybe we just picked the wrong day!
Last night (Oct 31) we were seated about 7 pm. Immediately noticed loud rock music playing. Ask server to please lower music. They did, but 10 minutes later rock music was loud again. Complained again and music was lowered. But 10 minutes later it was loud again. We have never had this problem before. We don't go to Brooklyn Trattoria to hear load rock music while trying to enjoy a $150 meal.
I have eaten here multiple times, really like the food. Friendly, outgoing owner who really cares about his place. Decided to order my food to go tonight. I ordered the chopped blue salad and side of risotto to go. The salad says it comes with pickled red onions and cherry tomatoes and you can add prosciutto for two dollars. So I did. And this is what I got. For $18. A half of a slice of prosciutto and two cherry tomatoes. And this is what you get for a $10 side of risotto. Like I said, I’ve eaten here multiple times and I’ve ordered the side of risotto multiple times, the portion size is much more when you are dining in. It shouldn’t make a difference that you’re getting your food to go, The value should be the same. By the time I got home and opened it up, I wouldn’t have been able to go back before they close at 8:30. Was your cook having a bad day? Or did you just not train them well? Pretty disappointing.
It's an Italian restaurant near my house, so I've always been curious about it, and today I finally decided to try it for the first time. It was a Thursday evening, and there were other customers in the restaurant, but it wasn't full, so it didn't seem too busy. We ordered the shrimp scampi and focaccia as an appetizer, followed by the braised beef pappardelle and lamb dish. The scampi and focaccia were good, so I was looking forward to the main dishes, but they were just so bland, and I was disappointed. It wasn't worth the money at all. The biggest disappointment was not the food but the service. Our server was a woman with wavy hair in an updo, and she didn't do anything but take our order. She didn't even come to refill our water, let alone she never asked us how the food tasted. In between, another young man brought our food, cleared our plates, and gave us things we asked for. He wasn't the one who took our order, and I don't even know if he was a busser or a server, but that was the only service we got. Don't ask me why we didn't mention this at the restaurant, because no one checked our table or asked how everything was🤣
First of all, food is phenomenal. So far I’ve had the Lamb Osso Bucco and the Chicken Parmigiana. Now here comes all the things I think are BS. No printed menus. When I come into a fine dining establishment I come in to engage with the other people at my table, the wait staff, etc. I’m trying to get away from my phone and this place makes you bury your face right back into it. And the layout of their online menu is terrible. They don’t list soft drinks anywhere in their menu. Coke, iced tea, et al. So you have to ask what all they have. And if you want sweetener with your drink it’s sugar or stevia. No equal, sweet n low or Splenda. If you’re gonna charge for a premium product you need to deliver a premium product. The Christmas music they’re playing at the moment is a bit annoying and the volume jumps around constantly.
The food was delicious! The atmosphere was wonderful and comfortable. The owner stopped by to chat with us a couple times which was nice. Unfortunately, we waited ten minutes after being seated to see our server and then after ordering our food he never checked back with us, the WHOLE meal. Drinks went unfilled and we wanted dessert but after sitting for 15 minutes after our meal with no waiter in sight we decided to skip it. The restaurant only had a few tables and was not full so it was pretty disappointing. I would come back for the great food but would probably sit at the bar where we would have access to staff.
$85 filet. No seasoning, topped with plain butter. Just extremely underwhelming. Risotto was the same. Rice and cheese. Very bland. Also had the Parpadelle Bolognese. Again, bland. So disappointed.
So, we'd been planning on coming here for a while and were excited as it was busy. First the good. The complementary bread was hot and very tasty. The ceasar salad was fresh and crisp and they split it for us without us asking. The lasagna was delicious too, lots of cheesey goodness. The bad. We ordered right when we sat down, and the salad came out in a timely manner. Then we waited - and waited- and waited. Our server told us at least 3 times that our order would be right out. 45 minutes later still no food. Now I understand that they were busy, but the table of 4 who was seated after we ordered got their food before us. Other tables around us were all getting theirs in a reasonable time too. There was some huddle by the kitchen as somehow they realized there was a mistake of some sort. Finally our food came. As previously mentioned the lasagna was good. My entree was a ricotta and salmon ravioli special. After waiting for so long, I was really hoping it would be great, but it was average or below average. The sauce didn't fit the flavor of the pasta. Disappointing. The ravioli at Buggattis and the smoked Salmon tortellini at Pasta Pronto are both substantially better flavored and are priced way less. After our food arrived we were avoided by our server, matter of fact she never came back after dropping off some parmesan. We asked the busser for our check and the hostess brought it to us and checked us out. No apology, no explanation. Just not good business sense by management if there was a manager. Don't know if we will go back or not. Not sure its worth the drive.
Vegetarian Food Review: Sigh. Waited for months to finally go check out this restaurant. The decor is beautiful. The service is great. The food rally really bland. Bruschetta barely had flavor and the Arabiatta was tasteless. It was cooked well but no flavor whatsoever. Really disappointed. Oh well. I feel terrible when I write reviews for food that are not good according to me. Yes I ate my food. Was very hungry but it was more like I am paying for it so might as well eat it. And I was hungry. Ofcourse everyone has a different palate and may love it.
I made a reservation for Valentine’s Day about a month in advance. We had never been here before. We were seated immediately but we waited 20 minutes before we got any service beyond water. We felt invisible. The table was small and cramped and in the middle of the room very close to the next tables where we could hear everything everyone was saying. Hardly the romantic atmosphere I had envisioned. When we finally got our order taken the first course came out very quickly but it was the worst Caesar salad I’ve ever had. Yellow lettuce, hard pieces, tiny portion. It was a $10 salad. Total rip off. We got meatballs for the second course and they were pretty tasty. We were both satisfied with our entrees as well. But the price was very high for the quality and quantity of the food. I was glad we had placed our entire order when our waitress had finally come to our table because we literally never saw her again. We got our waters refilled regularly. I flagged her down so we could get another round of drinks but then again we never saw her. We had been done eating for about 20 minutes and again totally ignored before we gave up on ordering dessert and asked the hostess if she could bring us our check. She did and I was not happy to see 20% gratuity was already added since our server was so inattentive and deserved less of a percentage. What incentive does she have to give us great service if she knows she’s getting 20%? There isn’t any and it shows. $150 meal that lacked in every way. There are better restaurants with better food and better service for less money. Will not be back.
My partner and I had reservations for a valentines dinner and upon arrival we were not greeted by host at stand and once we were, we didn’t even get their full attention. We were brought into the most back section part of the restaurant which was gross and completely downgraded from rest of the space. It was so put away that we could barely hear the music but could hear the folks seated MAYBE 3 feet away from our table. When asked to move to a more realistic spot we’re told that the only available table was the one DIRECTLY next to ours. There were other tables available so we were confused why we couldn’t be accommodated when booking the reservations was the same for all guest equal. We got up and left.
