I took my close friend here after not seeing her for several months, we both ordered the refillable Mimosas as well as the Chilequiles and went on to have a very memorable breakfast. Mimosas were amazing & sweet, won’t lie I had to get 4 refills. The chilequiles were spectacular to say the least, the serving size was enormous, as I write this review from home finishing up my leftovers I just would like to recommend this place for breakfast specifically, but also lunch & dinner because without a doubt you’ll have a great time. I’ll be returning soon for dinner or lunch.

I had a work dinner emergency last night due Uber Eats (won’t ever use them again) cancelling my work order without any notice to me or the restaurant that I had placed the delivery order from. Scrambling last minute trying to think of a great place nearby, with excellent food, a colleague and I quickly brainstormed some ideas and I then called Metropolitan Tavern hoping for a miracle to get a dinner order placed for a group of docs within 20-30 minutes. I was greeted via phone by Jason, one of the restaurant managers, with kindness and patience as he helped me get a to go order for roughly 15 guests placed and prepared as quickly as possible. The service was expedite, thorough, and when there wasn’t enough slices of the cake I ordered he had it substituted with a couple other delicious dessert options. Someone even walked with my Manager, who came to pick up the to go order, back to the office since it was dark and later in the evening as a safety precaution. Such a thoughtful and kind gesture. Customer service going above and beyond right there!! The docs were so happy to receive dinner before the meeting was over, and they all said that everything was delicious! I had ordered each pizza offered, both salads offered, cheesecake, and the chocolate cake. All were wonderful and we plan on using Metropolitan Tavern more often for lunch and dinner going forward due to their exemplary customer service, being available for an urgent last minute to go dinner order, and their excellent meal selection. Thank you again Jason for your help last night, we truly appreciate you and your team for preparing a wonderful dinner for our team!

Overall food/drinks were great. Meat was tender, fish not overcooked, mushrooms absolutely delicious, and everything was very flavorful. Brownie was delightful. Bread pudding special was, different. The actual pudding was yummy, not too sweet, but the savory/spicy ice cream and tangy sauce its paired with made it all too savory overall. Didn't feel like a dessert. Only other comment is that the appetizer needs some joujing-up. Our waiter was awesome, drinks delicious, view is great and atmosphere is on point. We will be back to try more things.

The first time we went was marvelous. I wish we remembered the server, she was great. The bartender looks the same, she has some great hair with fun things going on. (We wish she was our server, or the fantastic girl last time). This time for a hostess, we had a shorter gal with red hair this time that, she did smile kind of opposite and seemed upset. Maybe angry that we were women? ( She smiled at the men at the table after us). She was very curt. Our server it came around once to fill our water. It was not busy when we were there at all. Our food was okay, they messed up on my vegans friends order, but made it right away which was so nice. If they did brunch throughout the week with kinder hostess we would go back again and again.

Great place to meet for food and drinks. For some reason, I thought this place and hotel closed during COVID so it was great to see it open. Roof top bar with lots of outside seating and lots of indoor seating if you desire. The sun was setting so it was not too bad but they have umbrellas to shield the sun if too hot outside. Happy Hour ends at 1800 so if you are going to meet friends there, don't be like my buddy and say "let's meet at 1800", but we got there about 1740 so had time to have some happy hour food and drinks before dinner. The service was excellent and very attentive that day for us. Food and drinks were great and I had the braised ribs or something like that...very good. My lady had a pizza that I had to finish for her. This place has a menu with something for just about all tastes from fish, pork shops, beef and pizza. We also had an appetizer of beet hummus prior to eating. The weather is nice this time of year, not too hot so definitely recommend checking out this roof top bar.

We had both dinner and brunch here while we were staying at our hotel. I have mixed feelings about this restaurant because dinner was really good but breakfast was pretty yucky. I would definitely recommend this place for dinner. For dinner their is a gluten free pizza crust option and a gluten free burger bun option. The salmon dish was really delicious! For breakfast, the eggs Benedict had over cooked eggs, the hollandaise sauce was really skimpy and and flavor was blah. The potatoes were good though. My daughter got a chilacillas and it was not good! It was one of the only gluten free options they had. The complimentary doughnuts were really good. The service during dinner and breakfast was great! Very friendly staff and they were able to seat us right away both times. The view from the restaurant is really nice.

I’ve taken my partner here three times, and we love it every single time. The food is consistently delicious, portions lean on the smaller side, but the starters absolutely shine. The service is exceptionally friendly and genuinely personal, the kind that makes you feel remembered rather than managed. The atmosphere has a great vibe, and the rooftop view is the cherry on top. Clearly, this place keeps calling us back, and we’re always happy to answer.

We made a reservation and specifically asked for a river side view (we enjoy the lights of the convention center and city). We were seated at a tiny table in the middle of the room literally across from the view we asked for, with a view of the kitchen. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, so she gets 5 stars. The noise level was horrible, we could barely hear each other or our waitress in the beginning. Once the crowd thinned out we could finally hear normal conversations. The food was good. I had the braised short ribs, a little over done and tough but overall good flavor and portion size. My date had the burger and calamari, which were good. The cocktail wasn't that great. Overall it was ok. I think if we'd gotten the view we asked for and had it not been so loud the other minor imperfections wouldn't have been noticed.

I’m super bummed to write this review. We stayed at the hotel to catch a basketball game the night before. Was excited for breakfast the next morning. I was able to scan a QR code in the room and place a room order, which I thought was great. The night before we went and had drinks upstairs and had some happy hour menu food and the staff were so warm and welcoming. Really great servers. However, Brunch was disappointing. Burnt biscuits. Overly dry chicken fried steak. The gravy that came was a seafood chowder not the gravy we ordered.I smelt the seafood right when I opened the box. Luckily we don’t have any seafood allergies. The sausage, well… as pictured, you can see for yourself. My vegetarian Benedict, I couldn’t even swallow my bite. The greens did not taste right at all. Super bummed. The staff offered to remake but we kind of lost our appetite; they did offer a refund. This was 63 dollars total. So I am thankful they offered a refund. Not able to eat unfortunately :/

This is only a review for one of their special event menu nights (Valentine's Day dinner 2026); I have no idea what it's like for their regular menu or happy hour. This is written through the lens of expecting a romantic evening costing around $100 per person with the wine pairing. What I liked: * The beef tenderloin was genuinely good: nice texture, well-seasoned, and cooked properly. Unfortunately, I didn’t order it and only got to try a bite. * Some of the wines in the pairing were solid, though none stood out enough for me to remember exactly which ones. * The staff did put in effort on the theme: some decorations, lots of pink and red, and they seemed to be in the spirit of the evening. What I didn’t like: * Nearly all of the food was terrible. Not “terrible for the price,” just bad. My pork dish tasted like it had been pulled from the freezer and microwaved. I ordered a winter farro salad expecting distinct, chewy grains, but what arrived was basically warm oatmeal smeared over lettuce. Desserts were basically sheet cake with way too much low-quality icing, like they were trying to bury the sins of the baker under sugar. * Pacing and service flow were a mess. Food for the next course arrived when most of the table was only halfway through the current one. Almost every drink or plate was “auctioned off” at the table: “Who gets the Chardonnay?” “We don’t know, was it paired with the salmon or the shrimp?” Then the server would leave, return with the menu, and try to reverse-engineer which wine went with which dish. We were only four people at the table, and at $100 per person I expect the restaurant to know which plate and which glass go to which seat without turning every course into a guessing game. * Atmosphere: Bright overhead lighting and big TVs do not exactly scream “romantic Valentine’s dinner.” It felt more like a regular bar night with some hearts taped on, rather than the cozy, special-occasion experience the event description led us to expect. We walked out feeling like the whole thing was false advertising compared to what was promised. Overall, our Valentine’s Day double date was such a letdown that all four of us feel like we need a “do-over” at another restaurant. We’d been planning this for almost a month as a special occasion, and it ended up being one of those nights you immediately start trying to mentally replace with a better future memory.
