Great food at a reasonable price. Service was great! Hostess was friendly, even though she was busy!Pizzas were delicious, Caesar salad was fresh, although dressing was not as creamy as I remembered from previous visits, but still tasty!

It’s all about the experience here. Very personable, professional staff. The whole place is very 40s style everything. Cool place to get away from the real world for a couple hours with your loved one. I can definitely see why it’s ranked in the top 10 most romantic restaurants in the north country. Ideal date for an anniversary. Treat yourself sometime and head on in. I’ll be back, that’s for sure.

This place is a gem! Wonderful Italian food with attentive servers, and veal dishes that really hit the mark. It's set in the old train station with a nice outside dining area. Tired of looking at Potsdam sandstone? The walls of the men's room is Gouverneur marble!

I've only been here a handful of times (when I've come up to visit my daughter in Crane). Each time is a treat! Food is always spot on and service is right there too!

Probably the best Italian in Potsdam. They have an authentic stone pizza oven with a fire set in the back as their center feature; the rest of the building is a repurposed railway stop and is rather spacious. Rather pricey, but justified for large casual meetings or the like; the "tablecloths" are large sheets of duplicate-weight paper, and each table has crayons--perfect for artists, kids, and the waitstaff for letting you know the name of your server. They graciously didn't even change demeanor when we came in about 30 minutes to closing time, and left an hour later. Get a meatball while you're there--they're the size of softballs, but impossibly tender and juicy.

A rough start (no one acknowledge us after having been sat down for about 15 min) was successfully turned around by a skillfull and very personable waiter. We would have missed an outstanding meal had we walked out. Shrimp scampi and white clam sauce dishes were a home run. The wood fired oven baked bread was bar none. A definite stop in Potsdam if you are in the area.

Great service, great food, fair prices. We had the chicken parmigiano at the recommendation of our server, aling with the veal and spaghetti with meatball. Calamari appetizer and side salad- all were exceptional. We would not hesitate to return.

We called ahead and made a reservation. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly. The table was prepared and water waiting. Our service was excellent, and while there was a wait for our food it was absolutely worth it. Everything was fantastic, even down to the dessert!

Really amazing Italian food here in a unique building (used to be an old timey Train Station), excellent service, and the atmosphere is great: the lighting is warm and the music is very 1930's-1940's Big Band, Jazz, Swing era music. A really nice place to eat. Fancy enough for a nice date and fun enough for a family dinner.

We were just there for Graduation Weekend. The food is very good! Love when you go in and right away they give you bread, with the olive oil and vinegar to dip bread. The help there is also very good, they will always come and check to see that all is well with your table. This was our second time there. We were not disappointed at all. If in area again, which we will be ... we will be heading back to Mama Lucia.

Quick and easy takeout ordering. The lasagna was phenomenal. Great flavorful sauce and pasta. The white pizza and sausage pizza were also great. Great red sauce again. Will visit again! Thank you.

The linguine with clams are great (actual clams, not canned nonsense). Antipasto is good and the bread is amazing. Portion sizes are huge, so be prepared for that ;) Service was excellent, will definitely be back.

The woodfire pizza was delicious. The hunk of fresh warm bread you get along with the delicious oil and vinegar they have available on the table is great. The portion of veal you get is very generous and almost covers the entire plate. The seafood Alfredo came with lobster/crab along with the huge shrimp. Marissa our server was great. So friendly and attentive.

Warm and welcoming on a snowy Potsdam night! Spicy marinara was so good. Portions are large, and they offer family style as well.

The restaurant was nearly empty. We were a party of 8 and arrived at 6 on a Thursday. Drink orders were taken and delivered but it was quite a while before our food orders were taken. After 20 minutes the waiter came back to tell me they did not have what I ordered. I changed it. Others meals took 40 more minutes to be served, and mine 20 more minutes later! Everyone else was done eating when I got mine. It was not pleasant.

Absolutely delicious! Very reasonable prices. The bread baked in the wood fire oven is to die for. Was in town for a business trip and ate there three nights in a row. Very friendly staff.

A favorite with locals and college crowd. Bustlng Italian restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Ramp and special door for guests that require access without stairs. Plenty of menu choices and so far they have all been fabulous. They are some fun nooks for group seating and tables on an outdoor patio. Reservations are recommended so you don't miss out on a meal here.

Absolutely delicious food, with a great atmosphere and excellent service from Nate. This is awesome and authentic Italian food! Be prepared though, this is fine dining and portions are definitely small. Prices reflect the excellent quality of the food. Was it pricey? I think it was worth every delicious penny.

Wonderful Italian restaurant. Definitely the kind of italian food that I had hoped to find in New York. I can't say enough good things about the staff from the hostess station to the wait staff. Very accommodating to my family with three small children. The staff worked flawlessly through multiple power outages while we were dining and everyone left full and happy. Definitely will be back next time we're in Potsdam.

In all the years I've lived in Potsdam, I'd never tried Mama's. I brought a guest and we ate outside, the food was delicious. The menu is great, it was so hard to pick something, we both were thrilled with what we ordered. The individual pizza was huge, I couldn't finish it!

I was in town on a work trip, looking for a great place for dinner. What a beautiful, elegant atmosphere! Fabulous dinner, friendy staff. The meals are a la carte. I ordered the shrimp scampi and a salad. Because I was so intrigued by the wood-fired pizza, I ordered a small one to go. No regrets, you must go!

Party of 4 eating Saturday at 5pm. Service was swift and friendly and the food arrived quicker than expected - barely finished our bread! Portions were large and therefore a good value. We had lasagna with meat sauce, spaghetti with meatball, shrimp scampi, and white clam sauce - pictures below. Atmosphere was crowded, but still easy to maintain conversations due to the multiple levels of seating. Very comfortable place and we will definitely return!

Wonderful homemade bread from the brick oven. They accommodated for preferences and allergies. Wonderful Chicken picata, wine and dessert. Great music too! The building was moved from mid Town and was the old Depot station and I believe The Depot pizza place that had Great Sicilian pizza back in 1977!

I stopped in recently just before closing and had LJ as my waiter. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and accommodating. I had a glass of Chianti and ordered the Spaghetti 🍝, Meatball & Sausage. The marinara sauce was very tasty and had substance. The bread was also very good dipped in olive oil. I will be back soon to try the 🍕!

Our server, L.J. was phenomenal! Our family enjoyed a wonderful meal from start to finish. The food was well prepared, presented, and delicious! The atmosphere of this establishment is outstanding. It is family friendly, and we felt very welcomed. The restaurant was recommended to us from our server, Lexie (from Maxfields).

Old school Italian eatery with wood fired pizza oven, nice bar area with extensive craft beer menu and all the typical italian menu items. Note that the menu is a la carte so pricing ends up slightly higher than what you initially thought. Food quality is very good, competent humorous service .

Mostly visit here with a group as they can accommodate the extra seating. My favorite food here is the pizza with the many different selections to choose from...which are typically not offered at the other local pizza places. Being a former historic village train station, there is no cramped feeling when eating with a group due the high ceilings typical of that time period. Prices are ok for infrequent visits - rating is only about the dinning experience.

We went for dinner around 5pm or so and the place was pretty empty. We sat outside, where they have a decent sized area. It started sprinkling a bit, but we had an umbrella so it didn't bother us too much. For an appetizer we had the calamari. It is a HUGE portion, that comes with pasta sauce for dipping. It was really good (however the sauce did have a lot of oil in it for the health conscious people!) They also give you fresh bread, and it was very good. For entrees I had the chicken marsala and the fiancé had shrimp scampi. His entrée came with 6 (I think) large shrimp and pasta. It was good, however not amazing. My chicken marsala didn't come with anything extra, and it was $3 extra for pasta which was annoying. The chicken was a large portion, and I thought was pretty good. The side of pasta came with garlic/oil and fresh herbs..which was pretty good. For dessert we both had cheesecake with raspberry sauce over the top. It was only ok. I didn't care for it too much. (The fiancé loved it though). Overall it was good. The service was EXCELLENT. We will definitely go back. And I don't recall the exact bill, but for all the food we had...it seemed reasonably priced.

Mama Lucia's has a good reputation for pizza and family style Italian. The dining room had a lot of hard surfaces, which made it hard to have a conversation at normal levels but that might just be me. I had the chicken saltimbocca, very tasty, not much sage flavor but the sauce was bread-dipping worthy. No salad or other side, the waiter asked if I wanted pasta in the side but the menu didn't indicate the entree came with anything. My son had a pizza with prosciutto and kalamata olives and fresh tomatoes, thin crust, nicely fired in their pizza oven. I'd go back for their 2 for 1 pizzas on Wednesdays.

We made a reservation for a Friday at 630. It was pretty busy when we arrived but we were seated quickly even arriving a little early. The waiter, John, was excellent at recommending drinks and got them to us quickly. We ordered mixed drinks as well as a Blueberry peach cider from embark brewery here in NY. We ordered an appetizer of a family size cheese sticks but they never made it to the table to our disappointment. Our party of four mostly ordered seafood Alfredo or chicken Alfredo pastas, however I could not decide and asked for John to recommend something. John suggested a Cheri's lemon pesto chicken and it was phenomenal. Full of flavor dish and I will order this again. All good portions were more than one person could normally eat and everything was well priced for the amount of food. Aside from the appetizer not showing up everything was excellent including food, drinks, and service. We will be going back for certain.

C
Corey Gilmore

Food was decent and staff was helpful. Pizza had a ton of cheese but the sauce was very bland. Outdoor seating is nice but you hear and see a mason main road with traffic the entire time. Waitress had trouble with a large order. Pasta sauce was thick.

A
Alicia

High chairs but not the best selection for little kids. Some Mac and cheese or chicken tenders would be a good addition for the smaller pickier eaters. Also maybe boosters for smaller kids out of high chair age. Mama's special is good. The fried ravioli and rice ball appetizers are good. Free bread and butter is hot, fresh and delicious. Iced water is cold and replenished, drinks were refilled regularly. All in all I cannot complain about the service here

D
David Sanford

I have always liked this place, and it has the best bread I have ever had. You can't go wrong with their great Italian food in an old railroad station atmosphere. You may even see and hear a train pass by while you're dining. They even have outdoor dining and pizza in a wood fired oven. The bread is made there, too. Parking is plentiful as well, and prices are reasonable for the quality.

p

Nice classic Italian restaurant. Calamari was so good, big fat rings lightly breaded. Frestly baked loaves of bread for the table, delicious chicken Parm. Only gripe is that they charge $9 for a small side of non homemade pasta and homemade sauce if you want any pasta for your chicken Parm.... That feels a bit extreme.

T

Fried mozzarella is the best. Don't try the Tiramisu. Cool place to eat.

Food was so good - manicotti was delicious. Partner enjoyed the steak. Be mindful that there is no AC at this location - we were there in a heat wave and it was very hot inside - recommend sitting outside for a breeze!!

I was a part of a party of 8. I ordered the side Caesar salad and Mama's Favorite. The Caesar dressing was just ok, a bit too lemony for my tastes; I prefer the creamier version. The chicken was really tasty; however way too much oil/butter. All the ingredients were swimming in this greasy pool. I boxed the leftovers (without the excess oil) and when warmed up, it was so much better without all the extra oil/butter. The prices are a bit over the top. Our server appeared like he was a new hire. But at least he is working! BTW, the calamari was excellent, melt in your mouth good!

J
Janice Sova

Food was good and the serving was great, but the place was so cold, ate with my coat on. My coat kept sticking to the seat and when I got up I knew why. I had sticky stuff all over the back of my black coat. Since we were there when it just opened its obvious the staff didn't wipe down the bench from the day before. I was heading to a hockey game and had to wear the coat like that to the game. I did wash the coat and it all came out, but wasn't very happy.

M
Michelle Boots

It was.....not sure if I would order anything but the pizza again. Dont get me wrong, liked it...but I prefer my pasta cooked a little more then the 3 pasta dishes we had. The chicken riggie pasta tasted basically like it came fresh out of box, sauce on it and served

E
Ed Smith

Food is okay. Definitely better options in town for all of the options they offer. Recently added on a 'to go fee' to offset the cost of boxes for the pizza. So you'd think it would be a nice box, custom even. Nope. Generic box. Also a new convenience fee. $24 on the pizza quickly becomes 30 after tax and fees.

Like most of the restaurants in Potsdam this place is owned by Larry. There is little competition so he's just mailing it in. My wife ordered eggplant parmesan which was very bland. She took the leftovers home and I added some basic seasoning to it: basil, garlic, oregano and reheated it for her and she said it was 100% better. My daughter's both got pasta dishes. One ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and the other the Alfredo pasta. Both were serviceable and ok, but nothing to write home about. I ordered a wood fired pizza which was supposed to have fresh basil and tomatoes on it. The fresh basil was nowhere to be found and the tomatoes were sparse and clearly the same used for sandwich slices. There was also a copious amount of grease pooling on top due to the cheap cheese they use. It was edible. My wife found a dead fly in the bottom of her soda cup. Like most of Larry's restaurants there is no air conditioning so expect to be hot if it's hot out. Sometimes the bathrooms are out of service. The wait staff are good. All in all of you're looking for overpriced, premade frozen Italian food this is the place for you. Honestly there isn't a real decent Italian restaurant for 50 miles at least around Potsdam nor is there a decent pizza for about 50 miles.

Eat here two years ago food was great this visit I got the i think it's called mama's favorite and it had no flavor .

A
Adam Lee

Stopped by for a late dinner, 1 hour before closing. Mixed opinion on the experience. Maybe that was the issue? The waiter was pleasant enough and attentive. I had "Mama's Favorite" which was a bit expensive for what it was but excellent. My wife had a Caesar's salad that failed us. The romaine lettuce (yes, this was during the scare) in the salad was multiple bite-size - big pieces. It tasted OK. So mixed review from me despite what others rated. Maybe a visit during regular time will change my opinion?

We always go to Mama Lucias when visiting our son. We ordered our normal Palermo pizza. It was dark in color so we thought it was gluten free. They said their dough is now all sour dough. It was horrible. Chewy. NOT Italian. Big change big disappointment

Jason W
Jason W

Food was delicious. Steaks were cooked to perfection as ordered. Sadly service was lacking. It was busy, and by the time the waiter came to take our drink order, we also requested an appetizer. He had asked if we were ready to order our meals, and he said that he would be back in a minute and put the appetizer in at the same time, it would only take "seconds" for the appetizer. About 30 minutes later he came back to the table and apologized and asked my wife what she ordered. It was about an hour before dinner was finally served, and the appetizer never came. I'd go back again, but I would certainly hope for better service

Nate Parks
Nate Parks

Honestly, I was expecting better food. It was okay, but not flavor that you would rave about to all your friends. My delmonico steak wasn't worth $39.99. Helpings were very generous however. Certainly try it. Hopefully your experience will be different. Like I said, it was good, not great. The waitress was great. Very attentive, helpful and professional.

C
Carlene Bermann

I ordered a small pizza and garlic bread to go and it came to $28- Food was already getting cold and it wasn’t very good. They also charged a $2 pick up fee, which I have never heard of before. Prices posted in the restaurant are no longer accurate. Would not recommend for the quality or price.

K
Kaitlyn K

Honestly I was quite disappointed with the food we received. I thought for the prices it would be good quality Italian food. I had a female hair in my calamari which was soggy. our chicken parmesan came with a tiny thin piece of chicken without any cheese, which makes the dish obviously. If you’re going to charge over $20 for an entree at least make sure it’s well made. $88 total and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant sadly.

P
Peter Johnson

The waiters were very nice and attentive but that’s the only good thing I can say. Food was mediocre at best. Alfredo is supposed to be creamy, not taste like dishwater. 9 people and we got our meals 2 at a time. One person didn’t even get theirs until everyone else was almost done. Another group arrived 30 minutes after us and got their food way before we did. They said they would discount the bill but when it showed up there was nothing discounted or removed. Would definitely not recommend.

A
Anneliese Brenner

The place provides a nice atmosphere. However, the ceasar salad was horrible, the main course was atleast edible but not great (Mamas favorite), and it took over 50min to get my food after ordering. But to salvage the experience the mile high chocolate cake and bread were excellent. It may have been what I ordered and an off night, but not the greatest experience overall.

J
Jeremy Riedl

Service good, but cheap ( poor quality) food. My family ate here a couple years ago and never went back. My pizza wasn't bad, but had very little on it. My daughter's spaghetti was cheap and the meatballs Frozen and microwaved. The bread was ok, but they gave us margarine for the bread. Don't waste your time.

L
Lisa Biel

The food was pretty bland. The shrimp scampi needed more garlic & the chicken in the alfredo had no flavor.

I'm so disappointed in my most recent experience. I used to frequent Mama Lucia's from 2011-2018 (until I moved to Virginia). I recently moved back up to the North Country and my husband and I decided to go out for a (rare) date night. I asked him to go here because I've never had a bad experience. Well, I'm sorry to say, we had nothing, but bad experiences that night. Our waitress, Natalie, didn't come to our table to give us water for ten minutes. We waited ten minutes just for water. We looked at the menu, figured out what we wanted to eat, and then closed and placed our menus down so she would see we were ready. Still, we waited. She finally came with water and to take our drink order. We told her the appetizer we wanted and were told they were out, at 5:30, on a Tuesday evening. That says a lot right there. Okay, so we order something else. We ordered our dinners, and she left. About ten minutes later, I still don't have my iced tea. Our appetizer came out before I even got my drink. We kindly reminded her and she said, "Oh, yeah." We didn't even get an apology. Our food came out and my husband's pizza was burnt on top. Kindly, the manager (I believe) saw the disappointing state of his pizza and asked if he wanted a new one. He refused because my meal was out, and he wanted to eat with me. Sadly, my manicotti was overcooked. It was extremely hard on top. No problem, I'll eat it. The only good things that night were the meatball and the bread. We spoke to, who we believed to be the manager, and let her know how terrible the experience was. Pretty much saying everything I am here. We didn't ask for a discount or anything, we had paid, no issues. We paid a $70 bill for awful food and service. We just wanted it to be known how bad everything was. The saddest part is this was my husband's first time there. His first impression was a terrible one. It makes me upset because I know how good it can be. I raved about this place to my husband and this is what he gets. I'm not sure if it was just a bad night, or if the place has just gone downhill over the past few years.

This is a great restaurant with yummy food but in desperate need of cleaning the lights are so dirty and even lightbulbs being blown the bathroomsbstink maybe with a virus going on and if they close down to dining in they will take the time to give it a good thorough housecleaning it would be so nice to come to a nice clean restaurant makes me wonder how dirty the kitchen is if we could see it

R

I have been here three times when I first moved to Potsdam. If you're die hard Italian maybe you call it a 4 star. As an Irish-American who's best friend was Italian. Food was sub par. It's adequate to cafeteria food.

Katherine Holmok
Katherine Holmok

First off, it's freezing in there. If you have old windows, provide small space heater or something. We had to keep our jackets on and so did the wait staff. Half the ceiling lights are out. The waitress didn't serve our wine from the bottle. And the chicken piccata was cold, hard, and extremely salty. It came with a steak knife so that should tell you everything you need to know. Also, _8.99 for a side of pasta!?! With a chicken dish that came with no vegis or anything else. I've never had a more disappointing Italian meal in my life. Lastly, there is nothing complimentary for a birthday dinner. That on its own wouldn't have been a big deal (although unusual) but with the whole atmosphere/experience it was another knock. I came a few years ago for a graduation dinner and my filet mignon was tough. Turns out, it hasn't improved in the last 5 years. $100 I wouldn't spend again.

Suggest management review drink prices. $19 for a double captain Morgan & Coke. Added “alcohol fee” and added Credit card fee. Over $21. This isn’t NYC. Also the chicken in the Alfredo tastes boiled. Other than it was a nice atmosphere.

The restaurant was cold we cold breezes going thru the whole time. The food was not good. The salad was awful the dressing tasted spoiled I ate 2 bites and sent it away. They don’t have a kids menu or cups. For saying “family restaurant” it really didn’t feels like it. The pizza was ok.

Mama Lucia offers a pleasant and inviting ambiance typical of a traditional Italian eatery, making it an attractive choice for those seeking a cozy dining atmosphere. Over the course of three visits, however, the food consistently fell short of expectations. Unfortunately, the quality and flavor of the dishes, including the pizza, did not meet the standard one might expect from an Italian restaurant. In fact, the offerings compared unfavorably even to more casual chain alternatives like Pizza Hut. While the setting may appeal to diners prioritizing atmosphere over culinary excellence, those in search of authentic, well-executed Italian cuisine may wish to explore other options.

This food was gross. I ordered the rigatoni with meat sauce. Does not taste like meat sauce, you can’t tell what’s in the sauce. Fettuccini Alfredo tastes like it came from a jar nothing special at all. Try making food at home at this point. Don’t waste your money, have a date night in. Also I added a picture of the Parmesan to commemorate how bad it tasted. I really wanted to love this place, too bad.

I reviewed the menu on-line, where it stated that the large Roma pizza was $18.99; with tax, I was expecting to pay a little over $20.00. When I arrived to pick up my pizza, I was charged $25.90. I was told that the menu prices had just changed; a $3.00 increase, along with a $2.00 to go fee. I responded that these charges were not noted on the web-site. No one seemed to care, so I regretfully paid it. To make matters worse, when I finally saw my pizza, half of it was burnt and inedible. I typically love this restaurant. Super disappointed...

Absolutely HORRIBLE service. Every other table in sight got butter for bread and fresh grated cheese. I asked for both and crickets... Didnt see my waiter for over a half hour. Never got one of the drinks I ordered and the 2 that arrived were never refilled until the check arrived and I had to ask for it after the meal was already finished. But he did say thanks for our patience it's been hectic. Food was waaaaay overpriced and not very good at all. I'll choose a frozen dinner next time or Pizza Hut Pasta to be honest. Don't waste a dime here.

Potsdam visitors, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Absolutely terrible experience! The food was a mess, and pasta with chicken parm was extra! Who would ever want just the chicken? Overpriced for absolutely atrocious food. This was the first restaurant I walked into and knew for a fact I could run it better than the owner, and I would still be terrible. I just hope I don't get any food poisoning.

Extremely Horrible Service! Our waiter did not write down our order tried doing from memory. Took almost 30 minutes to recieve our drinks and 2 and a half hours for our food to come. When it did it was cold and he said he had forgot to order my kids pizza and it would be done shortly. He never even placed my meal order at all so i did not get a meal since i refused to wait due to everything else taking so long to come in the first place. I work in foodservice and am a very patient an understanding person, but this was rediculous since it was not busy.

It looked like a decent place at first site...but upon walking in, a couple was walking out complaining of service taking too long. We were however seated right away. There were several young workers walking around, talking and our server, whom was rushing everywhere stopped by to say she would be right with us. I felt bad for her because it seemed she was the only one actually working. We ordered drinks, she brought them right away, but they tasted old and skunky. We had the fried mozzarella for an appetizer, I had Mommas Favorite and my boyfriend ordered Utica Chicken Riggies. The appetizer was not bad...just a little on the burnt side. Our food came rather quickly, but at first site it was so watered down it didn't even look appetizing. Both meals said a cream sauce and this was far from it. The Utica Chicken Riggies literally looked like a pasta soup with boiled rubbery chicken. The Mommas Favorite was not horrible but the chicken was 2 boiled breasts thrown on type with a slice of cheese barely melted. The bathrooms were unpleasant as well. Dark, grimy, smelled bad and had a hole in the floor. We definitely will not return here, but our server did an amazing job!

Do not let yourself get fooled by the Italian music and the fancy environment. This does not reflect what you get in your plate. Overall the pizza are really disappointing and the pasta is tasteless. Worst of all is the Alfredo, DO NOT take the Alfredo it is absolutely disgusting. Other alternatives in Potsdam are Jake’s on the water, cantina or little Italy.

The first time my boyfriend has never finished his plate. Mozzarella bread appetizer way over cooked. Medium steak over cooked and over seasoned. My lemon pesto chicken was only lemon with watery sauce. Frozen broccoli, with a 30 dollar meal and 14 dollar drinks. Waiter was friendly though! Never again.

This place sucked. Waiter sucked. Food sucked. Waited for 20 minutes for drinks and another hour plus for food. Not sure if these people even know where Utica is but they shouldn't be calling their riggies Utica style riggies. Buddies raviolis were cold. They didn't bring over bread when asked. The only reason we went is because ever other place was closed. Odd for an Italian restaurant but whatever. All in all, it sucked.

Food is not good at all the service is ok and the overall demeanour of this establishment leaves a grunge-like film over the whole restaurant from the lack of cleanliness, to the putrid bathrooms, to the lack of general decency from the management team. I will NEVER recommend anyone ever eat here unless you openly want to get sick or get berated by management and staff. If I could give 0 stars I would or even better get them shut down I would in a heartbeat.

The last 3 that we’ve been at the restaurant the food was bad. The first time the pizza was cold, the second time I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and there was a long hair in the spaghetti. This last time I ordered lasagna and it was so burnt to the point that it was impossible to scrape it out of the edges of the plate. Our waitress yesterday was Alessandra. She apologized and tried to accommodate. She mentioned that it was indeed burnt ( which makes me wonder why she decided to serve it anyway), she had feted other options but we decided to skip all together. This has happened 3 times in a row which makes us think that perhaps the cooks are not careful/ consistent etc.Service is always nice, all the kids that wait on the tables are always very apologetic with the inconsistency and poor quality of the food. On a brighter note the tiramisu is always consistent and delicious so big congrats to the baker!

Our daughter attends one of the local universities and we came up to visit.. She wanted Italian. 1. The restaurant is dated, dirts and we had flies and fruit flies all around our table. 2. We ordered 5 entrees and we received 4. waiter never checked on us. after a ten minute wait I got up and asked out my wife’s entree.. They never made.. She received well after the rest of the party finished there’s. we expected the entree to be comped but wasn’t when we received final bill.. 3. Two of the entrees were ravioli.. Price was $17.99 for only 5 raviolis.. Unfortunately not many restaurants in the area.. This is one I will not be returning to..

No a/c and it’s 87* areas of the ceiling was damaged. The thin crust pizza wasn’t cooked at bottom but the top crust was very burned No real mozzarella cheese VERY dry tasteless. The lasagna was a mess looked like it was 1/2 of a stouffers with too much hot spice tasted more like spicy Mexican too much tomato sauce and very burned on top. The only good thing was the bread that was the only real Italian food and it wasn’t baked there! Pizza Hut would have been a better choice sadly.

Our service was GREAT! The food was horrible! Our bread was cold. Two shrimp scampi’s were dry and only butter, no seasoning. The mozzarella cheese sticks came without cheese and over fried. Another dish of fettuccine Alfredo tasted like garlic salty dishwater and even the manager agreed! The manager questioned our complaint and taste tested the sauce at our table and agreed after his arrogant attitude. He demeaned and questioned our word. However, he did put the blame on a new cook. He offered a reduced bill and free dessert. Later he did take back that and only offered a discount on the bill stating the dessert was expected to be paid for. Find a different restaurant!!!! Don’t waste your time.

The most important thing in a restaurant is the chef (good food), the cleanliness and the service, the other details are secondary. I went to celebrate my birthday in January 2021, I ordered a lasagna and they gave me a plate full of bad tomato sauce, with almost nonexistent pasta, very limited cheese too. We paid more than 90 dollars for the dinner. My daughter and husband's food were acceptable. My plate was a robbery and a lack of respect, I did not claim, for not to make my husband feel bad. On previous occasions the food has been good or regular. I hope in the future a good service for other, but I don't come back.

On our way home from eating here. I don't understand all of these great reviews. Food was absolutely horrible! Every aspect of it. Fries were soggy, clams overcooked, and pizza cold. My appetizer came to the table at the same time my our food came. Who is running this place tonight? I can say the people who greeted us when we walked in were very friendly. Made us feel like it was going to be a great place to eat. We were in for a ride awakening. I am still hungry and need to get this taste out of my mouth!

We went there yesterday to celebrate our second anniversary. I really regret it. In an almost empty restaurant, we got placed right next to the female restroom door. There was no privacy and we got disturbed a lot by the woman’s using the restroom. The table that we were placed on was wagging and shaking and almost falling apart. My chair was broken and I was trying to sit still to not make it fall apart complete. The other chair next to me wasn’t better. The “mixed greens” side Salad that I ordered as a starter was only made out of a cheap kind of ice berg lettuce and soaked in mostly vinegar. Tasted horrible. It wasn’t made out of mixed greens. It was also made out of the end of the lettuce and tasted bitter and looked pale and almost white. No greens at all. The Pizza took forever. The waiter didn’t come to ask us for more drinks or even taking away the dirty salad dishes. When the pizza finally arrived we had no fresh dishes at all to even place the pizza. I used the one that they served the bred on. My husband his dirty side Salad dish. The pizza didn’t look or taste like much. It was oily…Then we started eating and the server showed up and ask us (I was on my second slice of pizza), if we want dessert or the check. We asked for the check and went home. My husband added some fresh herbs to the pizza and we ate at home in a better Atmosphere. My wine wasn’t cold enough either and the ladies restroom is a mess. Toilet seat is lose, one door isn’t lockable. Tiles are broken and a safety hazard (you can fall easy), floor dirty. Never would go there again.

Where do I start? The wait staff was less than enthusiastic to wait on us. We had a party of 20 and more than half of us drove 4 hours to be there, including myself. My wife and sisters had planned this for weeks and even called ahead to verify pricing and ample seating. We were quoted $180-$200 for the family style plates we chose. With very minimal drinks(2 beers and 1 wine) and 1 extra platter the bill was $400. The food was not great, at all. Will never eat here again.

Went here tonight with my boyfriend and it was an AWFUL experience. Servers were trying their best, but it was busy and service was acceptable at most. Expensive for what you get- and let me elaborate. I ordered chicken saltimbocca, and then the waitress asked if I would like pasta on the side, and I said yes. I get the food and it was dry and just awful, and not even the kind of pasta I asked for. Then I get the check and the pasta was an extra $5??? So if you order a chicken dish it is $15 and it doesn’t even come with pasta? NOT at all worth it. I don’t want to diss a restaurant in Potsdam because we have so few places to go as college students, but I’d rather suffer yet another night at Cantina than brave this place ever again.

First time eating at this restaurant. I wasn’t pleased. The wait was an hour plus for food. It was super hot inside. I got the chicken broccoli Alfredo bowl it was terrible. I’m pretty sure they cooked the chicken in the water the noodles were cooked in. It was super runny and just awful. I’ve never written a review anywhere I’ve ate but this was bad enough to share. Would give 0 star for the food if I could.

Absolutely horrible service, food was disappointing. Waited a hour and 15 minutes for our food, had to ask for water 5 times before they brought it. Forgot to make one of our food in general. Absolutely do not recommend!

Waitress was great. Food....yeah, lasagna was burnt, other meal was soaked in wine served to a 17 year old. Manager said dish was always made that way. No more.

As others have said, the wait is long, Caesar salad inedible, stuffed shells served burnt and dry (after waiting over an hour)and chicken park comes with no pasta “because the chef is funny about it..” Family size stuffed shells that are touted as serving 3-4 in fact serve no more than 2 and is a whopping $27. For something with no meat or salad. Meatballs tasted like 50% oregano and no garlic. Member of our party complained to the owner who comped the bill but told him “never come back.” (!!) If you’re shortstaffed, close for the day like other places. But don’t make the customer suffer. An hour and a half I sat there hungry only to be served some nasty shells. It’s too bad because between the excellent atmosphere, awesome bread and the good sauce base you could really do much better. Bathroom reeked of sewer. I don’t know how the tables next to the bathroom door could stand it.

I got a caesar salad and it tasted so plane how do you mess up a caesar salad I got a pizza it was greasy and gave me a headache made me sick and the rice balls tasted like soap horrible. They added stuff on the pizza that weren’t mentioned on the menu. Never again.

Ordered large cheese pizza. 5 minute ride home pizza was cold. I picked up at time they gave. Pizza was undersized and looked small in box. This is the second time it was undersized. I called the first time and they said it depends on how the cook stretches the dough?? $44 for a pizza and salad. Quality of pizza was abhorrent and cold. Threw it out after one slice. Salad dressing was overly salty and the salad was not crisp or fresh. Never again!!! Zero star rating!!

We dined outside with a party of 4 and toddler and waited an an hour and 15 minutes for our food to be brought, then they only brought out two of the right pasta dishes (forgot the other two) and a pizza we had never ordered in general. The fettuccine Alfredo was hard as a rock almost unedible even when asked to be cooked soft. We had asked for water from three different people FIVE times and silverware three times. Absolutely do not recommend!

We stopped here after traveling all day to visit St Lawrence University with our son. Needless to say we were pretty exhausted and, as it was a Sunday, most of the restaurants in Canton were closed. I called the order in while making the 20 minute drive, one large cheese pizza, one small cheese pizza, and a salad. The total came to $69. We were so tired that we ended up just accepting it assuming that the food must be pretty good at that price point. We arrived and noticed that the restaurant is housed in a really cool old train station. When we got inside we realized that there was no air conditioning and it was pretty darn hot in there. A woman at the bar told us that it would just be a minute for our order. There were only two occupied tables of two people each in the whole place at dinner time which was the first indication that there may be a problem. We then proceeded to wait about another 20-30 minutes in that very hot space. As you can imagine, we were fairly grumpy by this point. A couple of staff members did check in with us as we waited and were very pleasant. The food finally came and we headed back to the hotel. We were utterly disappointed in the quality of the food. The $18.00 salad consisted of brown shredded lettuce with a couple of carrot flakes and a few grape tomatoes. The house dressing was a very bland vinegar and oil. It was basically inedible. The large pizza was too big for the box so the corner was folded over onto itself. The pizza was just fair, absolutely not worth the price we paid. Maybe we came on a bad night but likely would not go back. If you're going to charge that much the food definitely needs to be of a higher quality..
