Opinions de Zeus Brewing Company Poughkeepsie
A perfect spot for an event! We had the most amazing party in the fall with full access to the roof deck and bar. The service was flawless, with multiple bartenders and two food stations. The party was such a Success that no one wanted to leave. The choice of beers and signature drinks was well received and the space was comfortable for a large gathering We look forward to coming back for the view, drinks and exceptional service!
We had a fantastic time. Service was fast and friendly, beer was excellent and wow the food was terrific too. Such a gem of a place. The fries with feta are awesome as was the spinach dip. Everyone in our party had a great time. Definitely coming back!
I recently had my 56th birthday celebration at Zeus and hands down our Waiter Christopher was EXCELLENT!! The food was really good (I had the Salmon bowl) and the establishment was very elegant in a cool way.. My family and I enjoyed the whole night. It was the perfect place to just be ourselves and to enjoy celebrating my birthday!🎉 They also have a very beautiful manager, I think her name was Katrina who was overseeing our experience and making sure everything was just right!!! Thank you to all the staff that made our visit one we will never forget!!!
My family and I went last night to celebrate my mother’s birthday! Our server, Chris, was so great, on top of everything, and even chased us down the street with our left overs we forgot. Can’t find service like that anywhere else! The food was great and the drinks were even better, a perfect way to spend a celebration! Thank you for such a great experience!
Honestly, I loved this place for the people-watching, but the beer, food, and conversations made it even better. The tempura broccoli was packed with flavor and surprisingly filling! While the seasoning didn’t quite complement our Pink Marg pizza, we were still glad we ordered it. The pizza itself was great and the perfect size to share. And hands down, the Zeus IPA was the favorite at our table. We also tried the Variable Frequency from their Experimental NEIPA series. Even though the description highlights juicy notes of red berries, honeysuckle, and blood orange, it definitely drank more like a West Coast IPA, crisper and more bitter than hazy and juicy. Still enjoyable, just not what we expected based on the style. Great spot overall, fun vibe, and we’d absolutely come back!
Great spot right near the convention center hotel and the Poughkeepsie train. The place had a good vibe and solid crowd for a Friday night. We sat at the bar and Hunter, our bartender, was super attentive and knew just how frequently to check in. The BBQ chicken pizza was solid. The drinks were a bit pricey for upstate, but they were made strong and tasted great. We will definitely be back!
845 pie was so delicious. All the pies are! Carly and Madison were great at the bar. Met the brewer Harrison. So personable and wanted us to try some different styles. The new experimental IPA Variable Frequency was good and the peach cream ale was interesting and refreshing for summer Spicy Boi yum. Definitely check it out.
Always a great time. Their food never disappoints and their service is always outstanding. For my gluten free friends, menu is clearly labeled and staff is willing to answer questions and help you out. I highly recommend the wings or gluten free pies. For their food in general, they have an expansive selection of pies and salads, giving options for everybody. Their food never disappoints. Their drinks are outstanding, always a great selection of special cocktails and their beers (from what I hear from my friends) are amazing. You can either sit inside in their gorgeous, modern dining room or outside on the rooftop with a beautiful view of the Hudson. Be mindful of what time of day you sit at the rooftop though! It can be very hot if you don’t have a table with an umbrella and the sun beating direction down at you. The staff on the roof is helpful with seating and umbrellas. The staff is always attentive and always helpful, I have never had a bad experience there. Our waiter on the rooftop yesterday 7/4 was awesome and we had a great time. We loved the 4th of July spirit even though we didn’t go to the rooftop party at night. I love bringing friends from out of the area here and I can’t wait until the next time I come back!
Zeus Brewing is a sleek, upscale spot just minutes from the Hudson River and Poughkeepsie train station. The brewpub is a standout in the area with high ceilings, polished finishes, and a clean, modern atmosphere. We didn’t realize until after the fact that there’s a rooftop—so definitely don’t miss that on your visit. The vibe leans more fine dining than pub, making it ideal for a date night or elevated after work drinks. The food was solid but came with premium pricing. The portions held up though. The Gyro and Crispy Boi sandwich both hit the spot, and the mountain of fries that came with them was unexpectedly generous. On the beer front, the standout was Spicy Boi, a mango habanero blonde ale. It leaned a little thick, but was super smooth with a subtle kick of heat and healthy amount of mango flavor. Zeus is definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a brewery experience that feels a touch more refined.
One in a million, no, but very good, yes. Lively place, wide beer and food selection, solid daily specials. We started with the Czech dark lager and Zeus NEIPA, thumbs up. Second round was the coffee ale and lemon/hibiscus sour, also worthy of ordering again. Their glassware is fun and fits with the subtle art deco decor. Our server also brought us a sample of the smoky Rauschbier, which was appreciated (and just the right amount). Food was delicious but a little overpriced. Crispy boi chicken sandwich is fabulous, parmesan rosemary fries are flavor-packed (might be an up charge as my sandwich was $3 more on the receipt than the menu). Husband got the Pizza Bianca, which had a great crust but could use some slight adjustments because it was kinda wet and floppy, if toppings were more spread out and prosciutto had some crisp it would be better. Ingredients seemed like good quality but the execution on the pizza could be refined. One thing that could be improved is the menu format. I don’t mind QR code menus but this one is spaced out a lot and requires tons of scrolling, and rescrolling when you can’t remember the name of what you wanted. A collapsing menu that enables you to jump to each item type would be much less clunky. Food and drink aside, Zeus is spacious, appealing, has kind and attentive wait staff, and clean bathrooms. We’ll be back!
My family is obsessed with Zeus Brewing so it was time for me to check it out as well. There is no bad seat at Zeus, inside is beautiful and outside (including the rooftop patio) is stunning. Beer options are plentiful and all delicious but the cocktail options are also fantastic. Highly recommend their house made refreshers which have fresh fruit juice and their own cider. Great selection of food but wood fired pizza is always my go to when on a menu. We had the Zeus pie and it was amazing, topped with a delightful amount of ricotta, OBSESSED. As if it couldn’t get any better, the service was phenomenal. We sat at the upstairs bar for lunch and while Max the bartender was busy, he also made us feel like we were the only ones there. Max was friendly, passionate, attentive and made a great drink. Amazing staff all around at Zeus and delicious food and drinks, I’d highly recommend Zeus Brewing Company for your next meal out.
Was here at the beginning of June and absolutely loved it. We made reservations for the rooftop in the early afternoon. It was hot outside, but we thoroughly enjoyed the views and the food! Couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience! I had the steak sandwich with the gravy (I cannot remember the exact name, but you’ll know it when you see it on the menu!) and it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had!
Had a great experience at our first visit to Zeus. They had delicious fall cocktails and a good selection of beer. The food was well cooked and so full of flavor! The only negative comment from our party was that the pulled pork grilled cheese could have used more cheese. I will definitely be returning!
This is a really nice place. Pity that parents cannot go to the roof, feels like family shaming- like I can’t bring my son w me out to eat? Lame. Especially on a Sunday or during the day time. Otherwise food was excellent, our waitress was great. Probably would only go again if I could bring my son to the roof deck next time, especially since we went up to PH for a mini vacation.
I really enjoy Zeus Brewery—the beers are solid, the vibe is great, and it used to be one of my favorite spots to bring friends. But I’ve got to be honest: the management changes around food service are baffling. It used to be that you could order the full menu upstairs, which made hanging out way more convenient. Now, you can’t even get a pizza upstairs. Honestly, what’s the logic here? The atmosphere is still good, but making customers go downstairs just to grab basics like pizza feels like a step backwards. Still rooting for Zeus to thrive, but management—please rethink this one. You’re making it harder for people to fully enjoy what used to be a seamless experience.
Dined here 05/27 with a group of family- general consensus was that our experience could have been better. Nothing egregious, but for the type of venue and previous experiences here we had expected better. From the moment we stepped inside (6:00 pm) the restaurant was far louder than expected. It made it difficult to speak to the other members of our party, and proved to be problematic for our server as well. Twice our orders were not heard correctly which led to the incorrect dishes being brought out. Both of the dishes were close enough to the order that we just ate them, but for the prices at a hip downtown spot we would have preferred what we had asked for. The dishes that were brought out correctly were tasty, and there was no complaints about them. The drink selection was also very nice, and we had several rounds of drinks that were served cold and promptly by our waitress. On a closing note, I had ordered Rosemary fries / frites and when they arrived there was no rosemary to be found. I asked the waitress for extra rosemary on the side, and was brought a small bowl of parsley. It was concerning that the kitchen staff did not know the difference between the two, and I was definitely disappointed.
This place has a great view of the river, if you go up to the roof top. About the most un-friendly bar tender I've had in a while. Tried to start a conversation -- that's what you do when you go to a bar -- and she couldn't offer anything: "What's news in Poughkeepsie?", "Not a thing." And then there was nothing after that. If you are new in town and looking to just meet a local, go elsewhere. Bar eats were OK.
Zeus Brewing: A Masterclass in How Not to Treat Your Guests My fiancé and I came up from Manhattan to house hunt and were genuinely excited to try Zeus Brewing. It looked beautiful online and seemed like the kind of place we could see ourselves frequenting if we moved to the neighborhood. Being craft beer lovers, it was one of the top stops on our list. At first glance, the space lived up to the hype—clean, modern, and inviting. We were seated quickly, got water within a few minutes, and thought we were off to a great start. But what came next was an absolute trainwreck of service and hospitality. We sat at our table for twenty minutes—yes, a full twenty—without anyone taking our order. Three different staff members walked past us multiple times and didn’t so much as acknowledge we were there. A wedding party showed up about 5–8 minutes after we were seated, and suddenly the staff’s ability to multitask or even make eye contact vanished. Frustrated, we went up to the bar hoping for better service—and were met by someone who appeared to be the manager on duty. Unfortunately, he was not only unwelcoming but dismissive. He avoided eye contact, gave off zero enthusiasm, and seemed completely uninterested in having us there. We felt like an inconvenience, not guests. I asked for extra onions on my pizza—he forgot, didn’t apologize, and only after the food sat untouched for ten minutes did Bridget (one of the only bright spots in the experience) come by and offer to fix it. She was the only person who acknowledged the issue and showed any sense of care or accountability. She even apologized, which is more than I can say for the manager, who seemed checked out from beginning to end. Here’s the part that’s hard to ignore: as a person of color and a gay man, I couldn’t help but notice that all the non-ethnic guests around us were greeted quickly and served attentively. I don’t know what was behind our treatment—but the contrast was striking, and it left a bad taste that no craft beer could wash away. What makes this even more disappointing? We just put an offer on a house one block away. This could’ve been our new local spot—somewhere we’d bring friends, family, and out-of-town guests. But after this experience, I wouldn’t recommend Zeus Brewing to anyone. Now here’s the twist: we ended up going to Schatzi’s Pub and Beer Garden afterward—same ownership, totally different world. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile, seated quickly, and received warm, timely service throughout. We sat in the back patio and were still checked on frequently. The food was fantastic, the drinks were cold, and most importantly—we felt welcome. We stayed for hours and spent money happily, because that team understood what hospitality means. If Zeus wants to succeed in a community like this, they could learn a lot from the crew at Schatzi
I recently visited this restaurant with a few friends, and while we were looking forward to a relaxing meal together, the experience was quite disappointing. It wasn’t a busy day — several empty tables around — yet it took about 20 minutes just to get our drinks, and over an hour for the food to arrive. By the time our meals came out, we were already losing the good mood we started with. The staff was polite but seemed disorganized, and there was no update or apology for the delay until we asked. The food itself was decent once it arrived, but the long wait really overshadowed the quality. For a place that wasn’t crowded, I expected much faster service. Hopefully management takes this feedback seriously, because the atmosphere and menu have potential — they just need to work on timing and coordination.
