My husband and I try to go to La Jolla Groves every year for our anniversary because this is our favorite place to dine at! This time around we showed up on a Saturday night, had to wait maybe 20 minutes (which is fine, not mad at all actually:) ) and when we finally got seated, the table was all done up all cute and had champagne waiting for us and a bouquet of flowers. That was so sweet and it made the experience 10x better! Always good food and great servers and atmosphere! Thanks for being so good to us always!! :)
Our extended family came here for a late lunch immediately after our son’s wedding and had a fantastic experience! The setting was elegant but relaxed, everyone loved their meals, and our server Sariah was phenomenal- so attentive and welcoming! We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding lunch. Sariah and her team handled our party of 14 flawlessly. Between us all I think we must’ve sampled almost everything on the menu haha! We tried the braised lamb shank, salmon filet, French onion soup, lemon roasted chicken, chicken tortellini, manhattan steak, and even the Ruben sandwich. It was all fantastic and cooked to perfection. Service starts with drinks, buttery dinner rolls (delicious!), and an unexpected delectable amuse-bouche of dried fig and honey on top of a slice of Parmesan - it was lovely and a very elegant start to the meal. For drinks, Sariah recommended the lemonades as they are the house specialty and made fresh - so hubby and I tried a raspberry lemonade and a blackberry lemonade. They were refreshing, delicious, and not too sweet. Not too long after, all the food came out. The meal finishes with a complimentary plate of hard lemon candies which was a nice touch. The decor in the main dining room is lemon tree themed and I absolutely loved it! It’s cozy and fun - like dining in a lemon orchard. But unfortunately they sat us in a back room that felt a lot more flat - almost like a conference room. It would’ve really made our whole experience that much better if it had also been decorated in their lemon tree theme - and that really is my only complaint. But the room was elegant enough and very private for our little family party. So it isn’t really much of a complaint and certainly not enough of an issue to detract from the overall experience - just something to be aware of. We had a lot of “preferences” we had to consider in finding a restaurant for my son’s big day, so after an extensive search, we settled on La Jolla Groves for its elegant atmosphere and accommodating menu and we were more than satisfied. I easily made reservations online but also spoke to them on the phone to confirm and ask some questions. They do require a credit card to secure the reservation for a large party (we had 14 guests) but there’s no charge for making the reservation - only if you cancel on very short notice. They’re located in a large shopping area with plenty of parking. They’re kind of behind the stores but there are maps on site to help you find the entrance. Thanks again to Sariah and La Jolla Groves for taking such great care of us on our special day!
Came here for my birthday dinner. Was such a fun experience. My wife booked the bubble and it was such a fun experience with the Christmas lights and music outside playing. Would highly recommend for an anniversary, birthday, or a fancy date night. The food is 5 stars with some great tasting sauces on the steak or chicken option. @Faithful_Forker
My husband took me on a surprise date here one day while we were dating and we both loved it so much, this has become our designated spot for special occasions: birthdays, valentine’s, and this year for our first anniversary. We’ve even got free dessert a couple times for mentioning the occasion. It’s a beautiful restaurant, the service is amazing, and the food absolutely delightful. 4 courses of perfection; definitely the place to go for an elite meal and an unforgettable experience.
Best pomegranate dressing salad. Pomegranate dressing is created by the chef in house based on Chef‘s childhood memory. I love it and enjoy it very much. Tenderloin is nice not amazing Made a wish and chosen the card Gold
Another wonderful meal! Food was great. Had a group of 8 in a globe (tight squeeze - but very fun!). Meals were all great - wonderful and tasty! Only downside was 1/2 of our dishes came out barely warm - still tasted great - but would have been nice to have brought out from kitchen sooner and at least warm to slightly hot. Recommend the frosted lemonade to add to your meal.
Beautiful restaurant! Perfect for a birthday date night! Tabitha was an excellent server- very kind, attentive, and prompt. My husband had the tenderloin medallions and they were cooked perfectly and the mango chutney was so tasty! I had the salmon and it was also cooked perfectly! The buratta appetizer was so good! We highly recommend this cute lil place!
Incredible experience. We went for both our rehearsal dinner as a large group and just recently for our 1 year anniversary. This time we were served by Brooklyn, who was just a gem. Knowledgeable, polite, timely. The food was fantastic and very well portioned, even for us NJ natives. Can’t wait to go back!
This restaurant is absolutely amazing! The food is top-quality and full of flavor, the service is impeccable, and everything is spotless. They speak both Spanish and English, always ensure drinks are refilled, and even gave us fresh bread to take home. My mom, visiting from Spain and used to top-tier restaurants, was amazed—she said it’s one of the best she’s ever been to, and I completely agree! The beautiful decor, great prices, and thoughtful touches, like opening the door for us as we left, made the experience unforgettable. I went with my mom this time, but I can’t wait to come back with my husband!
Upscale restaurant with wonderful food. The pacing of the meal was slow, but perhaps it was only because they had a large work party in at the same time. Very tasty.
My wife and I had a great time there for dinner. Everything had such great presentation and the food was delicious. Our waiter was Braxton who took care of us with a very welcoming disposition and made the whole evening very nice. He even went as far as cleverly recreating a drink from scratch that my wife had been looking to taste for years. Above and beyond. Will be back soon
We love La Jolla Grove and regularly go for anniversaries. But tonight my starving and sick first trimester belly decided the price was worth the gamble if they’d give me a couple of the little cheeses the chef gives between courses. I cried actual tears when I opened the bag. A million thanks to whoever filled my order. We love you anyway, but this made all the difference.
We had an absolutely wonderful birthday dinner here. The staff was incredible and we loved the food. Among our favorites were the steak medallions, the smoothies, and the salads. The globes are a great dining option. You get temperature control, and your own blue tooth speaker to set the mood
La Jolla Groves is one of my favorite nicer restaurants in the area! The service and atmosphere are excellent. The price for the quality and presentation of the food is really reasonable. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking for a nice date night spot!
Absolutely wonderful atmosphere and the service was really great. All of the food was on point, BUT you have to try the Pastrami Burger - Huge, Juicy and bursting with Flavor! And the fries were perfect😋💪
My boyfriend and I have come here twice for our anniversary now, and the food is always top notch, the servers are very attentive and friendly, and we always get a cheesecake and gift from the chef on the house since we’re celebrating something special. The ingredients are always very fresh and delicious. They also have a full bar with some great mixed drinks as well. It’s always clean, beautiful, and is a great place for fancy or casual dining at a higher price and quality. The bruschetta was also extremely delicious, my mango smoothie, the tenderloins, the salmon, and the shrimp scampi. The petite wedge salad was great as well, definitely ask the server for their recommendations. Thanks for all the great service and helping our day to be special!
La Jolla Groves is a nice fine dining experience for a good price. The food here is very delicious. We got the charcuterie board, pan seared salmon, and the carbonara. The charcuterie board was the perfect size for 2 people to share. It had plenty of options of different meats, cheese, fruits, and nuts. The flavor combination of all the ingredients were quite balanced and complimented each other nicely. My wife said her salmon was the best that she has ever had. She said the salmon was cooked to perfection and she was in love with the sauce after her first bite. The sauce has a very distinct fresh and citrusy flavor that compliments the salmon well. The carbonara was good, but I will honestly say it wasn't the best I've had. The pancetta inside the carbonara was definitely the best I've had. The noodles were cooked a tiny bit too long. They were not mushy, but they weren't quite al dente. I also kind of wish the sauce had a bit more parmesan flavor and more salt. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad dish, it just needed a little bit more going on. The service here was honestly phenomenal. Everybody was very kind and attentive and explained everything on the menu when we had questions. My wife's drink did not run out a single time throughout dinner. They were constantly giving her a fresh new drink every time she got low without her having to ask. The atmosphere was very pleasant inside. It kind of makes you think you're sitting in courtyard in Italy under the trees. The decor is well done without being too much. They did a really good job transforming this location into something nice. Also, the restaurant was surprisingly not loud despite there being a decent amount of people dining, which is really awesome. Overall, this place is a must go and we will definitely be returning. Oh, and the lemon drop they give you afterwards is the best lemon drop I've ever had. I don't know if they buy them or make them, but wherever they are from, they are amazing.
La Jolla, gross Aniun, Annie, Donnie, Katie, Chef david, and Chef Nick, I cannot tell you what an amazing experience that we have your restaurant. I love the story about Capri, that is our daughters middle name so I can’t wait to take her there someday. Don’t know how you guys did it but the lemon tree canopy was charming and romantic. We also loved your yellow napkins to match the lemons in the sky. I don’t know where you found those trees, but it made your restaurant so special. You are a local gem. We saw a lot of complaints about your prices, but you are offering a fine dining experience and the food showed it. The steak medallions were cooked perfect. A splash of Sherry in my mushroom soup really brought out the flavors. I WOULD RECOMMEND
My first time in a place like this. A bit jarring as it was extremely unfamiliar. We went at 2pm on a weekday, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The hostess was friendly. And our server was attentive but not hovering. The decor is extremely unique, but super fun to eat in. Our food came swiftly, and as expected was delicious. We had ordered some soups, and an appetizer before the main meal, we didn't feel overfull afterwards. It was my birthday, so they brought us out a cheesecake on the house too.
Our dinner at La Jolla Groves was an amazing experience. We were greeted by incredibly friendly and kind staff. The food was delicious! The whole menu and experience was explained to us expertly by our waiter, which made our ordering painless. I will say though that they forgot 80% of our party's drinks until we had just about finished dinner, due to a mix up in the kitchen. Besides that the service was flawless and the food fantastic!
One of the best experiences I’ve had in a restaurant. The environment is beautiful with the greenery above your head, and the servers are beyond excellent! All of the food was delicious, especially the tomato basil soup! The spaghetti and meatballs were spicy, which I wasn’t expecting, but still good nonetheless. The food is well worth the price, especially considering how great the service. We were given a gift on the way out for going during Valentine’s week. Can’t wait to go again!
This place was so cute! I was a little worried reading through the reviews, just because of the bad ones I saw but I disagree with all of them. Lots talked about the lemon chicken not being cooked well but I completely disagree. I took a photo of mine so you can see how beautifully cooked it was! And the steak just melts in your mouth! Also the employees were all so sweet! Me and my boyfriend went and didn’t realize what time they closed and even though we had stayed long past closing the never mentioned it and were always so kind coming to ask if we needed anything. We had sweet Ashley and she honestly made our experience perfect! She even showed us how the folded the bread bowl! We told Ashley that we would be splitting my soup and without even asking she had the kitchen split it into two different bowls so my boyfriend and I could both enjoy it at the same time! I thought that was so kind and honestly 10/10 service! Plus on top of the amazing staff and environment the food was to die for! Thank you Ashley and everyone else who made our night special! We will definitely dine here again!
We went to dinner on a Tuesday evening and know they have a fantastic chef Nick. The food was very wonderful. I think next time we go I’ll order the chefs special. Loved what I got. Lemon cake was above par. We will be back. Thank you for a fantastic meal atmosphere and excellent service. Wish I got a picture of the lemon cake and mocktail strawberry mojito.
Fantastic place for our anniversary. Atmosphere and staff were perfect. Try the butternut squash soup and the crème burlee.
Me and my husband just went here for our first anniversary and it might just be the best dining experience we’ve ever had. The service was incredible, everyone was so kind and attentive and helped make our night so special and perfect! We got a cute little anniversary cheesecake on the house too! Cutest place with the most INCREDIBLE food (the lemon chicken blew my socks off), I cannot recommend it enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a great time at La Jolla groves! The service was amazing and the food was so yummy! We got the bruschetta and burrata appetizers. The bruschetta was my favorite there were so many delicious flavors! Their kale salad was really yummy and I got the carbonara for dinner which I really enjoyed. For dessert we got the lemon cake and the crème brûlée. Both were amazing!
Even better than I remember! They’ve really gone above and beyond. The staff is friendly, the food is absolutely delicious, and their flavored lemonades are a must. They even brought us cute and tasty little “palate cleansers”. They were cheese. Cheese is always a plus in my book. Definitely worth a visit!
Outdoor patio with the lights and trees is super relaxing, especially in the evening. Had the salmon which was flaky and seasoned just right, paired with a fresh salad. Drinks menu has nice options, tried a craft cocktail that wasn't too sweet. Wait was short even on a date night.
Came here for a special event, and while we had made a reservation online for a table, they made the switch to one of the Alpenglobes really easy. We did have to wait a bit, but that was for the setup—if you reserve online beforehand, there doesn't seem to be a wait at all. The Tortellini and Carbonara were fantastic, each had a texture that complemented the flavor really well. The Bruschetta was really flavorful too. Our server, Diego, did a fantastic job at getting our food out to us at making sure our experience was top notch.
I love this place but haven’t been for agile. My birthday is in a few days so I decided to treat myself to a birthday dinner there. My server was amazing! She brought out the delicious rolls quickly. I have forgotten how amazing they are! They sat me quickly with my reservation. I went for the Medallions and the were perfectly cooked and delicious. It came with broccolini and fingerling potatoes which were also perfectly cooked. I also go their lemon cake to take home. What a fabulous meal! I highly recommend this fabulous restraint!
We came for date night & really enjoyed our food as well as the service. The restaurant is beautiful, and our dishes were delicious. I totally recommend the lemon chicken dish as well as the butternut squash soup. The portions are a good size! We ordered a shared appetizer, a shared soup, and an entree each (thinking they would be small). Well, we were stuffed & took half our entrees home. They saved well for leftovers though!
Restaurant Review for La Jolla Groves We are spending the weekend in Provo and I wanted to find an amazing restaurant to celebrate my Birthday. I was so impressed with La Jolla Groves at the @shopsatriverwoods in Provo, Utah. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere! White tablecloths, folded napkins, fresh roses on every table. The lanterns hanging from the lemon trees create an elegant ambiance, perfect for a romantic dinner for two. Everything we tried we liked. Our meal started with the chef sending out a palate cleanser of fig & cheese. How special! We tried a variety of appetizers; arancini, bruschetta, and the charcuterie board. As a chef, I love to see how restaurants pair flavors and La Jolla Groves did it beautifully. Their arancini was as good as the ones we had in Rome. For our main courses we tried the chicken tortellini and the beef medallions. They were amazing. This restaurant has Mt. Dew/Pepsi products (a must have for me). They even offered a to-go drink which I absolutely love. For my Birthday they brought out a complimentary cheesecake that was delightful. Our server David was incredible! Attentive, knowledgeable, helpful and he really added to our great experience. I highly recommend trying @lajollagroves and exploring the beautiful Shops at Riverwoods.
The atmosphere is awesome. This was our second time going. The first time was amazing, from the food to the service. The second time was less amazing. It was a Monday night, so not very busy but our food took a long time and it was cold when we got it. We will still go back, but just a little disappointed this time.
The place is beautiful, and the tree in the middle of the restaurant adds a unique touch. Plus, they have outdoor dining capsules which are just spectacular. The food was delicious, and the portions were just right. However, it’s true that it took a while to get our food, and my partner’s dish arrived cold. What was strange, though, was that the people who arrived after us got their meals first. The food prices are on the higher side, but we were aware of that when we came in… BUT, one thing to note—don’t even think about ordering a bouquet of flowers for Valentine’s or an anniversary! They’ll charge you an arm and a leg for it.
Me and my family had a pretty good experience here for my sister's birthday party. The food all tasted pretty good, though there were some things that need improvement. For example the asparagus was flavorless and in my experience not flavored well or even cooked thoroughly enough. Asparagus works really well to absorb flavors and a little browning does them good. The waiters we're all kind, courteous, and helpful, but they did get some of the stuff on our table mixed up and kind of spilled stuff a little bit. The atmosphere is enjoyable and the facility is decorated nicely, and good thing it is because we sat and waited for appetizers for about an hour and a half. We actually didn't even get to place our orders until after we had been there for about 20 to 30 minutes. The price tag is pretty high, and luckily that is because they use fresh ingredients and the food really does taste great, but there are just these little things that hold them back from pure perfection.
We started off with the bruschetta. The presentation was appealing, and the taste did not disappoint as well. The combination of all the ingredients together was perfect, giving a complex and rich taste with each bite. We also got the mushroom bisque and butternut squash soup. The mushroom bisque was average, but the butternut squash was HEAVENLY. The taste was simply amazing, and the candied pumpkin seeds gave it a nice added texture to the soup, too. I would definitely go back for that. I was slightly disappointed by the bread rolls, probably because I had too high of an expectation, as most nice restaurants I've been had really nice bread and spread. Since a lot of their dishes incorporate lemon, I would think they should have lemon cream cheese spread or something like that. All they had was regular rolls and butter, and the top of the rolls were too greasy. However, I was pleasantly surprised when our server gave us a gift from the chef: a dried fig on cheese with honey. I enjoyed this palate cleanser! We ordered the Salmon Filet and the Shrimp Scampi. The salmon was moist and flavorful. Apparently the salmon were freshly caught and delivered yesterday. I was impressed by their Shrimp Scampi; definitely exceeded my expectations. I loved the sauce, the texture of the linguine, and the generous portion. Delicious! Overall, I loved how everything here was lemon-themed! From the food to the interior design with lemon trees, even their bathroom smelled nice and had lemon-scented hand soap! AND I have to mention that I was very satisfied with the lemon drop candy at the end. It was so good and unlike the usual lemon candies that would scratch your mouth. It gave my entire experience a nice finishing touch. While the food was absolutely delightful, the service was extremely slow. The mushroom bisque took 40 minutes before it was brought out, which was a bit ridiculous considering it's just soup. Not sure if they forgot about the order or what. And then for the entrées, they really took a LONG time before they were done (more than an hour since we placed the order...). We were starving and getting quite impatient. Other than the wait, everything else was great.
Overall this is a pretty good restaurant. I got the tenderloin medallions and I must’ve just got them on an off night cause they were just not very good. The pretzel was really with the cheese sauce. It was really nice how they give the kids their own mini charcuterie board. This place is very fancy, might just be a little too fancy for me. If you like fancy, this place is for you.
A surprisingly tasty find in a shopping area. The ambiance and experience feel upscale but casually dressed people felt right at home too. The menu has a lot to offer. Portions are appropriate. The filet medallions were perfectly cooked. The jammy sauce was a little over powering—like the tomato topping on meatloaf. But if it were toned down, the flavor combination would be superb. Excellent service and experience.
There were pros and cons. -Pros: Atmosphere was great, delicious food, yummy drinks -Cons: My husband got the anniversary experience package and made a reservation. We waited 30 mins before we were seated and there were a bunch of tables open. The waiter forgot to have the flowers and drinks on the table before we were seated and my husband had to ask about it. My husband made them known of his food allergy but they didn't let us know what had his food allergen in it. The steak was really expensive for only 4 slices ( you could get more steak at Ruth's Chris for the price). We also waited a VERY long time for the food to come out and the drinks were never refilled. Then we were charged for the anniversary dessert right after they told us it was free for our anniversary. Overall: Food was good, service was not.
3 stars for great service, nice deco and molten cake. I ordered the wagyu filet mignon. I asked for medium and it was way overcooked. All I can tasted is the bitter of the burn. Definitely not worth $70. My husband ordered salmon. The rice was dry, the salmon wasn't flavorful. The molten cake is great, that's the only food I would recommend to try here. Overall, the food is not worth it.
We were less than impressed with this place. We went for our anniversary dinner. The food isn’t terrible but also not amazing either. The bruschetta was really good though and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The main reason for the 3 stars was the service. When we setup the reservation they asked if we were celebrating and before we were sat by the hostess we were asked again. It seemed interesting they put such a focus on this for the waiter to never make mention of it. Our waiter started off by saying she’s new and very busy. Maybe not the best way to start an interaction. She couldn’t give many suggestions for the menu being newer and informed us the infused lemonades are non-refillable despite saying they are. There was some confusion by the staff and a second waiter came to our table and began taking care of us. He recommended the infused lemonades and highlighted they are refillable and gave great recommendations. As soon as he began leaving our table another staff member informed him we weren’t one of his tables. It would have been nice to have him the rest of the evening. Our server made mistakes with the drinks requested, never brought out bread, and continued to make us feel a burden during the evening. We would’ve preferred a better experience for our anniversary dinner.
Beautiful setting. The staff did an excellent job accommodating my husband and I on our anniversary. The food was not what I expected. We got the butternut squash soup that had great reviews, some rolls, some dessert. The soup was cool, and very sweet. Not what my taste buds were expecting. Almost like it was a dessert soup. The rolls were soft and sweet rolls, not hard white rolls like perhaps I would expect from a Mediterranean themed restaurant. The desserts were very nicely presented, but the lava cake was kind of typical, bland and dry, not a rewarding rich delicatessen I might hope for.
I was pretty disappointed in our experience for Valentine’s Day. We were sat in a overflow dining room right by the bathrooms which had no decorations (the lemons in the main dining room were part of the reason we booked with them) it took forever to get a server (two tables got sat after us and got greeted and their orders put in before we even saw our server.) Our server was nice but obviously busy given the holiday. We sat around waiting forever for her to take our order and then forever for our starters and then forever for our main meal. And then when we got it my tortellini wasn’t cooked all the way and was dry and hard but she was so busy I couldn’t get her to come back to the table. (She also warned me it was spicy and it wasn’t spicy at all. Like at all) Lemon chicken was good but was lukewarm. For how much we are paying and how long we waited it would have been nice to at least have hot food and it cooked all the way. We were in the restaurant for a total of 3 hours. 3 hours and we couldn’t even get hot cooked food. Oh they also served us moldy bread and tried to say it was pen marks. Like that is better? And then with the bill they give you a card that says to give them five stars and they’ll Venmo you five dollars. Bribery for mediocre dining. We were also suppose to get a thing of Martinelli‘s and a rose and we only got the rose. Disappointed.
Be careful!! When they ask if you want a soup or salad right after you order your main dish, know it is not included. It will be an extra 9 dollars. Our waitress was amazing! But the kitchen took nearly 2 hours to bring out our food. The atmosphere was fun though. They also didn’t refill our drinks. Our server was so kind, which helped a lot too.
We booked the Alpenglobe for our Valentine’s dinner and unfortunately just felt like things fell a bit short. We didn’t get a waiter until about 20 minutes after we had been sat down and didn’t get food until about another 30 minutes after that. Our servers were very sweet and nice, but we just felt sorta forgotten about and the food was just okay. For a $250 reservation plus the price of the food, we just felt like things missed the mark a bit. Not a disaster, but just wanted a bit more for the large price we payed. Unlikely to book this experience again.
We’ve been to La Jolla Groves at least half a dozen times and the food has consistently been very good. Last night’s service however was inept and ruined our experience. The server lacked familiarity with the cocktails, it took 30 minutes after ordering for the first drinks to arrive, he carried drinks two at a time to the table and then disappeared before everyone received their drinks, completely forgot the second drink order, and never once checked in on the table. He spent most of the night awkwardly standing behind a service podium vs. attending to his tables. That coupled with food runners bringing the wrong food to our table and we rushed out of there and skipped our dessert course which we typically enjoy. It is unfortunate that the strong kitchen staff is encumbered by such inexperienced servers.
This place is gorgeous, the ambiance is romantic and when you walk in it feels like fine dining. However, the dining didn’t feel fine. There was about a 20 minute wait past the time of our reservation, but prompt service once we were seated. We ordered shrimp cocktail which was $14 and came with 4 pieces of average jumbo shrimp and average cocktail sauce (it didn’t list the quantity on the menu- I should have asked before I ordered 🙄) It came out quickly with bread and butter following shortly. The bread was delicious, but the butter had something that looked like plastic string on top of it. Our food came about 30 minutes after that shortly followed by dessert 5 minutes after that. When the server walked in with the dessert he paused and waited for us as if he wanted us to push our barely touched entrees to the side. We asked that he put them down on the other side of the table so we can continue eating. Shortly after that, our waiter came by and realized that dessert came very close to the entrees and suggested TO BRING US TO GO BOXES FOR OUR ENTREES. At this point we had only been eating for a few minutes so our plates were still barely touched. We said that’s ok we’d like to finish our food. We sat in the outdoor globe and it had a heater right above us. We ordered chocolate lava cake with ice cream on top, which melted pretty quickly, and crème brulee. The entrees were good, the service hit some road bumps, but considering we spent $400 I would not recommend. The outdoor globe was the best part of it, but that was $250 of the total so in the end I didn’t feel like it was worth it.
Overpriced & not worth the wait but the butternut squash soup was to die for. I feel like you just gotta know what to order to make it worth it and that soup would be it!!
Nice atmosphere, but sounds like the management is not working out with staff. Since being seated and placing an order for two, it took an hour to get a cocktail, then an additional hour before the food came out. Not exaggerating. Server was super nice and it wasn’t their fault, it sounds like half the staff walked out. Food was decent. The tenderloin medallions were tasty with the mango chutney, but there really was not that much meat, I wasn’t expecting a big plate either. The carbonara was just an over sauced onion salt bomb. The dinner rolls were also seemingly store bought which didn’t bother me but considering this place is supposed to be more high end, that is another lowlight of it. I think this place caters towards their banquets and it takes away from it being better for dining. Won’t be back unless there’s a big overhaul. Bummed because it’s a really fun and different atmosphere.
All the reviews about poor service are probably because they have insanely high turnover. They treat their staff horribly, and use a large portion of the tips to pay their back of house staff so they don't have to out of their own pockets. Pretty ridiculous considering the price of the mediocre food. They could be a case study in poor business ownership and management. I don't expect this place to improve unless it gets sold. It wasn't just the food that left a bad taste in my mouth. Never eating here again, and if you like ethics, neither should you.
