Lower scores for this restaurant seem completely unfair. Each item seemed more carefully crafted than the one before. We can't wait to return to Il Gattopardo! Employees know their dishes thoroughly and provide superior assistance. Il Gattopardo offers the right balance of size and comfort.

Elegant, authentic, and consistently excellent. The ambiance is refined yet warm, and the service is top-notch. I had a large group so we sat downstairs in a private room which made the experience even better. I highly recommend the pappardelle with the paccheri with pork—rich and flavorful. Sadly we did not have the full menu but many things online looked very good as well. Cocktails are creative, and the dessert was a perfect finish. A must-visit for Italian food lovers! Love that it was in a quiet little area of midtown as well!

This place is swanky, chic, elegant and simply delicious. They take good care of their customers! The service is 10/10 where the waiters always keep your glass full, refill baskets and olive oil and always serve large groups with a smile. The prosciutto and burrata was so good. The wine menu is expansive. The salad was fresh and plentiful. The dining room is in a gorgeous townhouse with a gatsby feeling with white linens and beautifully dressed white suited waiters with jazz music in the background. Moreover we loved the fresh grated parm and black pepper for each dish, it was a nice touch to the experience for our company lunch! I especially love that this place specializes in seasonal produce and more specifically: black truffle (November apparently has the best selection and display at the front of the house). I ordered the homemade ricotta gnocchi special with black truffle sauce and it was divine. The menu is south Italian with a good balance of meat seafood and vegetarian dishes whether it be grilled chicken, veal, steak or more exotic items like swordfish. I also was thoroughly impressed with their breaded veal milanese chop and pork pasta. However I felt the truffle gnocchi had way too much salt i felt super thirsty after. Might I add- I love their apple tart(they have a cute little apple design on top) and seasonal gelatto/sorbet for dessert with fresh mint and perfect portions (love the pineapple sorbet it literally tasted like a pina colada. The coffee was so good , the double espresso is strong and the cappuccino is dreamy. I can’t wait to return here for more wine and dining.

Absolutely outstanding Italian food, really romantic ambiance (inside a historic building), great service but slow when at peak dinner time. What to order: - Any pasta! - Broiled striped bass - If there’s a Risotto special, order it. Perfectly cooked! Must-get Dessert: table side Zabaione Al Ramandolo with mixed berries Great wine selection too.

Excellent Restaurant that specializes in southern italian food. It is located in the old millionare row of NY. The location is famous for its most prominent resident, John D Rockefeller. Food is delicious, and the service is amazing. Inside is a wonderful ambiance, but sit outside and enjoy the tree lined street. I ordered the broiled stripe bass with lemon and fennel pollen. Highly recommend. Close to The Museum of Modern Art. So enjoy a great restaurant with a rich New York history.

We were looking for an Italian restaurant along our route and came across this one. Wait staff friendly, and were very helpful with making suggestions based on what we told them what we liked. I never had Italian food in Italy but I think this prob was the real deal because I have never had Italian food with such great taste.

The first pleasant surprise was the extensive, varied, and high-quality wine list. But the real highlight was Maximiliano, the sommelier — a true expert in wines not only from Italy but from around the world. It’s a rare pleasure to meet someone with such deep knowledge who also shares it with wisdom and humility. His background in Formentera was an unexpected connection that made the experience even more personal. As for the food — simply put, it lives up to the standard set by the wine list. This is the kind of place where even if you make a “wrong” choice, you’ll still get it right.

Had a lovely dinner at Il Gattopardo tonight. Food was good, but the service was what made the night special. Our server Ignis was attentive and helped us choose a delicious wine and cocktails. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a good Italian restaurant and a wine selection of the highest quality.

I had a lovely dinner at Il Gattopardo. The service was attentive and professional, and the ambiance was elegant but relaxed perfect for a quiet evening in the city. To start, I had the grilled octopus over endive and celery. It was beautifully cooked tender with just the right amount of char, and the balance of textures and flavors was spot on. Definitely a highlight of the meal. For the main, I ordered the Neapolitan linguine with clams, anchovy, parsley, and garlic pesto. The pasta was nicely done, and the ingredients were fresh, but the dish was a bit too salty for my taste. Still enjoyable, just a small detail worth noting. Overall, it was a great experience and I would return to try other dishes.

Simple, comfortable, understated elegance with really cool raffia chairs. Felt like a fancier version of our old family dinners in the basement at nonna's. Staff was all wonderful! Super polite and attentive. Our waitress was wonderful. It felt like talking to a friend who'd give you their honest opinion instead of someone trying to add to your bill. She spoke clearly and gave explanations of the dishes. While we were waiting for our dessert, she came by to say goodnight since her shift was over and ensured us her coworker would take care of us. We asked if we should pay before she left, but she said thank you that's not necessary since they are 'family and share all tips at the end of the day'! I am 100% convinced this is why absolutely everyone who works here is so amazingly polite and always smiling. Ok. So food.. We started with a mixed bread basket and olive oil for dipping and mini veal arancini. I have never been one to like arancinis or veal for that matter, but these were the perfect size and tasted amazing. For appetizers, we had the veal meatballs (again, not my choice but not an overpowering veal taste, so I was pleased) and the fried zucchini and smoked mozzarella. I ordered the couscous and seafood dish that was a bit heavy on the fishy taste and a bit too oily (my boyfriend agreed and he's not a picky eater). He went with the cannelloni with pork. AMAZING! Dessert was delizia del limone that he wasn't overly impressed with, two kinds of biscotti, and our usual double espressos. I was a little surprised by the lack of options on the food menu. Oh! And one of the drinks was pricier than some of the food.

Great atmosphere, solid live band, and overall good service.One server, though, spoke extremely fast and kept switching into Italian while explaining the dishes, which made it pretty hard to follow. Unfortunately, the food just didn’t deliver. The “light” pasta was extremely oily and had a very strong fishy flavor. Not dirty or spoiled just overpowering and unpleasant. The lamb chops were also intensely gamey to the point of being hard to enjoy. Honestly, the best thing we had all night was the complimentary bread at the beginning,Wouldn’t recommend coming here for the food.

We have been coming here for 5 years. Today, we have reservations for 8 and we arrived early and had drinks at the bar while we waited. We were sat 7 minutes after our reservation despite being here 30 minutes early - not an issue expect for the fact we were sat by the front door. I went to get the table changed and I was told 5 minutes. 15 minutes later still in the cold. Manager said the speaker of the house was here - who cares. Am I supposed to be inconvenienced because an elected official was dining? Unacceptable. It appears the manager cares more about the pops and circumstance of having an elected dining instead of a 5 year patron.
