4 Locos Argentine Steakhouse - Purley

This steakhouse is so AMAZING! Like the food here is on point! So tasty! The BBQ chicken! Just everything they make is just so mouth-watering! Would 100% Recommend Going here! I visited again. And wow, This place just does not disappoint. Every time I go in there the food keeps getting better and better! I would recommend to anyone in the local area to try this place out. It may be a bit expensive but it is so worth the price!

Awesome place for steak we had sharing platter £33.5 per person, was glad we didnt order starter was more than enough, and steak was so soft and tender. Would definitely go again

Look up reviews of a Steak restaurant and 4 Locos did not disappoint in any way. Great food and very good service from Renata. We all had great steaks my Son's 18th Bday and we had one of the sharing platter. Chicken escalope was so big we took half home. Good beer with chilled glasses. They were also busy with delivery guys. Highly recommend.

Great service and tasty food. Off the Sunday menu, ‘La Pampa Mix Grill’ is very good and worth a try!

Pleasant please to have a dinner out. Really delicious and fresh food. Perfect proportions - valuable for money. Interesting choice of dishes including Latin specials - empanadas, humita, chorizo and of course a wide range of argentinian meats. They have also vegetarian and vegan foods in their offer. For meat eaters I'd recommend 4 different cuts of meats - you can try everything on a one plate, for plant based enthusiasts cauliflower chickpea curry. Really nice and helpful staff. Quite quick service as for a peak of the day on Saturday. Restaurant also is not a disappointment when it comes to delivering food - really tasty burger, nicely packed and delivered quickly.

I was recommended to visit this steakhouse as I am a massive steak lover and I was not disappointed. The food was amazing, the restaurant was nice and cosy and the staff were friendly and courteous. I would definitely return and I would recommend it as well 😊

Absolutely perfectly cooked food, both steaks- one rare, one medium rare, and also a hot side of creamy spinach at perfect table temperature 😎 easy parking round the back, free on a Sunday 👈🏽

Very good service and very good food. I came with my friend to this restaurant on the recommendation of another person, several times my friend told me to come, but it was very difficult to coincide and when we finally managed to have the time we came and it was a very good experience.

We came here on the basis of a recommendation and loved it. The food was great, well cooked and tasted amazing. Service was lovely too staff very friendly and fast service. We came midweek evening and it wasn't too busy but I'll definitely be back and recommend others too.

Me and girlfriend decided to have a spontaneous dinner date out and we came across this gem in south London called 4 locos. From when we entered the ambience , decor and polite staff blew us away . We were then greeted with our drinks which were the perfect combination of sweet and strong which is how we love them and to put the cherry on top the steak was cooked to perfection . We were served by the lovely lidia who was attentive , educated in the menu and polite and funny . I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning in a larger group . I had a prime cut of steak but they have two lower cheaper alternatives of size plus me and my partner shared a starter and had two cocktails each hence the price listed .

Best steaks I've had in a very long time. Great service and atmosphere.

Excellent food and great, very friendly service. Not a bad wine list either. This huge platter is only £22/person on Sundays, and all expertly cooked. Sirloin steak, rump, chorizo, chicken skewers, authentic ribs, chips, salad, roast tomatoes, chimchurri, all incredibly cooked.

Wonderful steak cooked to perfection. Great service. We did the eat out to help out so really worth it but even without it would still eat there. I also had the 4 Locos Steak salad and that was really tasty too. Highly recommend.

Such a great place, been visiting a while and almost always get the steak, great atmosphere, all the starters are amazing and the staff are great too. No cons, just a guaranteed great night everytime!

Food is very good quality. Great place for a special occasion. Service, sometimes a bit slow but otherwise good.

Really liked the place. Food tastes great and the service is friendly. They even let in well behaved dogs! Only feedback I would give is that to give more fries for a sharing platter for two (probably double the amount).

Came here for a combined birthday/Easter Sunday lunch, having really enjoyed their excellent takeaway food during lockdown. My daughter had the kids meal which was really good value, and we had the parrillada Argentina which was amazing. The meat is always high quality and cooked perfectly. Desserts are great too. Will be back for more!

One of if not the best burger that I have ever had! Food arrived very speedily and staff were more than polite and professional. Would 100% recommend and I will certainly be returning sometime soon.

Called in on the off chance of a table. Staff were really accommodating and helpful with menu choices. Food was incredible, give it a try.

Best steak outside of the city and great, friendly service. Every cut in the La Maroma platter was superb, the rib eye especially.

Visited with friends on a Saturday evening. Packed but we realised why after we ate our stakes! Beautiful, tender, juicy meat, wonderfully cooked! Lovely red wine served by lovely staff. Definitely try the mushrooms sauce! We ignored the heat that was a tad too much for us but hey! It's February after all!

In my opinion hands down the best restaurant in Purley by some margin. The meat is quality, tender, cooked to perfection and tastes amazing. Service is good and not over the top like in many restaurants of this type. Wide variety of steaks and wines on offer. It's not cheap and the price reflects the quality, but you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful steaks! Highly recommend the La Maroma sharing platter for trying the different cuts of steak. The marinated olives are fantastic and the chimichurri is spectacular. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drinks available.

4 Locos Argentine Steakhouse is my local go-to, and honestly, it’s almost on par with top-tier spots like Goodman and Hawksmoor. The steaks are consistently excellent—tender, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. If you’re in the area and love a good steak, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Have been a few times now, the latest for our mums 70th, staff are always super friendly, food is amazing (we had the sharing steak selection for 2) and cocktails were delicious. Looking forward to our next visit....

Always a welcoming atmosphere, best restaurant in Purley. I had the fillet steak and I wasn't disappointed, cooked to perfection. My friend had the chicken, the wine 🍷 was good. I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend here top notch food and wine. Staff are always friendly professional and give great recommendations.

Good food, good service. The cuts of meat and the way it was cooked, you could tell it was top quality. I ordered the parrillada Argentina platter - looking at this now - it looks like it is cheaper to get all the contents of it separately. It also looks like we weren't served the chimichurri sauce either which was disappointing. I don't think this dish was good value for money. We dined with our 3 year old daughter and the staff were very hospitable and good with her. The olives starter tasted very well flavoured / marinated and I would recommend.

I love steak 🥩 and the steak I had was very good, people just need to know if you are getting a large one like the 18oz I had it will take sometime to have it cooked well done which is my preferred way of having it cook I know a lot people will said steaks shouldn't be cooked that way but everyone is free to have it the way they like it. Service was good and would happily go back.

Great place to eat steak! Lovely atmosphere! Had a tomahawk steak was a bit under uncooked for a medium rare however it was nice. And a really good bit of meat! Bit expensive but all the steaks we had looked really nice! Will definitely return! If you like you’re meat medium rare I’d say go medium 👌

Really very delicious, but rather expensive. If it was more reasonable, I would definitely give it 5 stars. That said, if you want to treat yourself, a loved one etc this is a great place to enjoy quality food. The price range I've given is with drinks, so if you're not drinkers, consider it a bit less.

I'd give it 4.5* If I could. 5* for the food. I had the fillet (shown with salad) and my friend the sirloin. Both steaks were superb. Cooked perfectly (and my dinner companion is particularly picky in that regard). I tried one of the chips off my friend's plate and found it more flavourful than typical chips (maybe some sort of seasoning?) The dulce de leche cheesecake was also deliciously lush. 4* for the decor. While nice, we both found it a bit too clinical/caf-like (mighr be improved by lowering the lights and adding candles?) Plus it was a bit chilly. First time there. Would definitely go back though and recommend it as a great Purley local!

Food comes quick and is well presented. Less than 10 mins from ordering you will have your starters, and about 30 mins for mains, so timing is good. Steak tastes good, I guess £40 for a 12 oz is reasonable in the current climate. I can see the chef cares about the cooking of the steak. Enjoyed the meal and the wine was decent - would come back.

Visit was too brief. Rushing to get back to Fairfield hall. Steak was ok. Cooked fine but some stringyness - I didn't expect any. Nice salads, very happy to find they didn't put balsamic on my tomatos and onion salad. Loads of Tomatoes mmm. They sat us near a radiator which was going full blast. We asked to move. They could move the tables around.

Nice looking place with good ambience but unfortunately the food was below par. Starters were fine but the steaks which were the main reason we went there were chewy and not very flavourful. Service was good as well but the food was a let down.

Update My family member and I went for a meal we were shown to a seating area that was very dark. We asked the staff to move us to an area with more light. However we asked for our steak to be well done but it was not and we asked for steak to be cooked further after returned two times it was ok. We will not dine at this restaurant again. My family member went to this restaurant and now decided to order dinner and we ordered 2 Ribeye steak and asked for them to be well done. The food was ordered on Deliveroo on 09/12/2023 and when we received it my family member was very shocked of the quality of both Ribeye steak they were not well done it was bloody. I had a stomach upset. My family member reported to Deliveroo but did not offer a refund. I gave a low score because of the poor quality of the steak. I am currently on steroids and have to stay in but when I am well I will go and speak to the manager about the food and the meat upsetting my stomach. Photos enclosed.

Been going to 4locos since it opened and used to love this place. Such a pity that it’s gone down hill so dramatically. Food used to be great and good value but now just “meh”. Kids steaks over cooked, chips really greasy. Service staff disinterested - one of the waiters got passive aggressive when I eventually managed to get his attention to ask for more water (which he didn’t bring). Not worth the money these days. The original 4locos group that owned / ran the place are no longer there which explains the decline. Sad 😔
