Archies - Herne Hill

Very happy to welcome this restaurant to the neighbourhood. We went for dinner and loved the food. Their menu is a blend of different South American dishes and everything was DELICIOUS. The grapefruit trout ceviche, ribeye, corn, and okras were all a delight, and the Picante is a must. We’ll be back for more 😊

My friend and I visiting from the states happened to stop by Archie’s. We ordered few drinks and a salad and were both very pleased with what we were given. Jasmine, who took our order, was very kind and polite and overall just wonderful! I highly recommend visiting Archie’s in Herne Hill for some great drinks and fantastic food.

Absolutely love this place for a chilled cocktail or breakfast in Herne Hill. Food and drinks are great and the servers (especially Adam) go out of their way to make us feel special. They even make mocktails for my curious 5 year old. This place is an awesome addition to Herne Hill!

Fantastic service from Adam. Chris is a brilliant host. The food is flavourful and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. Great Friday night date spot!

We had an incredible dining experience at Archies in Herne Hill. The food was top-notch.,everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. But what truly elevated our dinner was the exceptional service we received. Sonny, was a Rockstar! He was friendly, had a brilliant sense of humor, and was so attentive to our table. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. The service was as good as the food, and we'll definitely be back because of him. Thanks, Sonny, for a fantastic meal.

Have been here a few times. Really enjoy their Iced Chai and burritos. They were very accommodating and made it vegan for me. Really comfy seating and great service by Alex, Bhushan, and everyone else who works there.

Had a brilliant lunch here yesterday! The Bloody Mary’s are excellent - especially the one with tequila. The corn ribs are knockout and the pork belly ciabatta roll hit the spot. Couldn’t get a table outside in the sun sadly but the inside is really cool. Defo coming back!

Such a lovely place and amazing food! Our waiter Adam was so lovely, got us a cake and candle to celebrate my husband's birthday! We are locals and will definitely be coming back often!

I had THE most wonderful service today from Jono and Sapphire, the drinks and cocktails were well over standards and tasted amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed my time and experience, looking forward to my next visit.

We had a delicious brunch here this morning, quickly seated despite no reservation. Attentive staff, Adam who served us was great. And we both couldn’t shut up about how tasty the food was. Beautiful decor inside and some good tunes.

We checked out this cute new restaurant and had such a great time! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and everything from start to finish was just spot on. Our waiter, Adam, was phenomenal—super funny, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, especially the steak—it was cooked to perfection! And the cocktails were amazing too. Big compliments to the bartender! Can’t wait to go back.

Best Bloody Mary, they even do a bloody Maria tequila version. £5 happy hour weekday wed-fri, brunch till 4pm, insane steak egg and chunky chips, cosy sofas and outside seating, what more can you ask for ! Fave place in Herne Hill - we love Adam , thanks for the amazing service !

We had a great dinner for four on Saturday night for a birthday celebration. Delicious food and great cocktails, friendly staff and a lovely ambience. The ceviche was especially good. We've been for brunch too and that was equally great. Highly recommend

Shared Brunch with wife, son and daughter-in-law. Had the Avocado on Sourdough Toast with poached eggs and streaky bacon. Delicious and I very much liked the fact that the cherry tomatoes had been slightly cooked and were warm as part of the dish. Emma and her team did a great job of ensuring we had everything we needed. Have been before and had similarly good experience last time round.

Originally swayed by the fact that they have Modelos on the menu (hosted). We ordered the Pão de queijo, sharing board and churros. Incredible take on the Pão de queijo, with a particularly starchy spin topped off with a good serving of pico de gallo. The sharing board was also a hit - clear winners being the picanha and, quite surprisingly, the chips. Great sauce selection, the chimmichurri was like crack. Churros brought a slightly spicy, pleasantly dark chocolate vibe and was a great conclusion to a great meal. Amplified by the fantastic service by Adam who was super friendly and always happy to share recommendations for the meals as well as ideal consumption of such great food.

Herne Hill is the cats pyjamas as far as South London neighbourhoods go & Archie’s is a tip top addition. Cozy space, lovely servers, the food slaps harder than an aggressive step-father on his 6th double Bells. The corn ribs were powerfully citrusy, pork tacos moreish like they had a dusting of crack. Would recommend.

My friend had a private party here tonight, Adam was our host. He was absolutely amazing. Very attentive, very kind and such a lovely person!! Thank you Adam, we will be back!!

First visit with a friend for coffee. Such a welcome, friendly vibe all the staff were very smiley. Excellent customer service from every staff member. A big shout out especially for Sapphire who served us. Guy made the most delicious chi tea and latte we have ever tasted exactly as ordered. He managed to replicate the same delicious drink on the second order. Highly recommend a visit.

Came here at 9:45am and was served by Naz who was very helpful and enthusiastic. I had a great chai latte and a fresh orange juice. (They don't start making the green juice until later but that was fine!)

Everything we ordered was fantastic. The pork belly tacos to start were incredible. We got the Carne sharer board, which for £48 we thought was great value. The Picanha was cooked to perfection, the chicken also lovely. Only gutting thing was they were out of Tres Leches Cake for dessert!! Will definitely be back :)

I’ve been to Archie’s twice already and both experiences have been really good. I’ve had the “Huevos Rancheros” and “Huevos Divorciados” and, as a Latin American, I can say it’s been very close to my home flavors! The staff has always been really friendly, engaging and accommodating. I believe they have a new manager and he was also super kind. The vibe is relaxed, at least for brunch, not sure how it is during night times. Overall I can recommend!

Been looking forward to trying here since seeing it opened. We had the small plates. Food is well priced. The Pork Tacos and Calamari were delicious and super flavoursome. The Cassava chips were too hard, unsalted and the pork belly needed more seasoning. Not sure if the music system had an issue but could have done with the music for more atmosphere. Listened to the chefs talk a lot instead. Drinks were great and nice wine selection. Service was really great with introduction as to what we were having, the recommendation, pairing and spice levels. The dessert was a nice rich chocolate torte between two. Would come back again and try the steak or come for brunch.

Lovely place. Had the Steak & Eggs which was very nice. The steak was rare, as requested but small enough to fit inside a wallet with space for a Curry's reciept. The eggs should be changed to 'egg' as you only get one. Didn't get much change out of £30 but the chimichurri was spot on. Staff were lovely and the coffee is very good. Go there.

We had avocado toasts and coffee today, nice for after a run in the park this lazy morning. Service was overwhelmed this Saturday morning.

The food is good here but I have to say the service was a bit strange. The manager was a bit a cold, it took a while to get served and the service just felt a bit odd. Nobody ever checked back and asked how we're doing. Also, at the end of our main, the plates got whipped away and we never got offered anything else - no sweet, no coffee, no more drinks. It was 915pm and we fancied a dessert, but found it difficult to get any attention and eventually the manager just came over and planted a bill in front of us. We paid and were just finishing our drinks and conversation but the manager kept walking past and very obviously looking at his watch and sighing. We felt uncomfortable so we left... It was only 930pm! Just very strange to rush people out of your restaurant at 930 on a Thursday night, when it says you're open til 11.

Food reasonably nice but service was deplorable. Our waitress shouted at us to "LOOK ALIVE PEOPLE" when we were giving our drinks orders. She continued to be hostile for our entire visit and made us feel very uncomfortable

American waitress was very unfriendly to us - a coffee came out cold, in which she responded “it’s because it’s cold outside”. Understand everyone has a bad day, but it’s not that hard to be nice - especially if you’re in a hospitality position. Shame as I’ve been here a few times.

We ordered the breakfast burritos which were very nice, however we had a few problems with service. I asked for mine to be dairy free, they put it down and said no sour cream, I asked if it also had no cheese, everyone seemed a but unsure as to whether it had dairy or if our burritos had just been the wrong way around. As someone who is lactose intolerant this was quite concerning and something I was not willing to take the risk with. They checked back and said yes it was definitely dairy free. Both burritos definitely had cheese in, so I had to send it back. The manager was not apologetic for this and was actually quite rude. He blamed the error on the kitchen staff. To quote 'This is a Mexican restaurant the hispanic kitchen staff don't speak good English.' If this wasn't enough, we waited a long time for service, no cutlery came with the food, I was offered hot sauce which never came. My friends burrito also had a hair in it. Gave two stars for the atmosphere because we were sat outside in the sun.

Look it’s going to sound like I’m mad at the servers. I’m not, they were clearly short staffed and it was nye. However, we made a reservation and were sat in the corner away from the main restaurant & vibes. We were regularly forgotten, as were drinks. I’m not sure why the restaurant had only two people on staff for New Year’s Eve but it seemed like a wild misstep. Food wise, the chicken was great albeit it was meant to come with salsa, and we asked for extra plates which we never recieved. The rest was fine, it was just not a good experience. I do sincerely hope it was a one off, but I doubt we will be back given the great experiences we have had at other restaurants in Herne Hill.
