Karen's is our favorite breakfast spot. Clean, welcoming, great service, and great food. They have the absolute best steak and eggs, hands down!

Karen's Kitchen is the tops! I ordered soup w/ corn bread. They give you butter and honey for your c-bread. Okay, WOW! YUM! This was no surprise to me as everything I've ordered has always been great! And guess what? Karen's Kitchen #3 is now open and to no surprise it is just as cozy with great staff. It's nice and open and bright. A great place to be.

Lots of menu items, great quality food and excellent coffee, at low prices with generous but not ridiculous portions. A nice, homey atmosphere. Just bring cash, it is cash only and the ATM isn't always working.

Fantastic scramble and this may sound weird but the toast was perfectly crispy and delicious. Hash browns were perfectly crispy since we asked for them extra crispy. 10/10 would recommend.

The server was great, and the quality is that of a mom and pops country kitchen. Liver and onions is good, The food portions are large and cooked like Grandma would make it. They even had non-caffeinated teas to choose from like lemon and chamomile tea.

The hidden gem! The sandwiches were so delicious that I honestly crave it. I’m not even a sandwich person….the bread was so delicious, generous meat, dressing was so tangy and perfectly balanced. The experience at this Cafe, I must say brings back childhood memories from when my mom used to cook my grandma used to cook. My mom took me to this restaurant this morning and I had their sourdough sausage egg and cheese sandwich. And I must tell you at first bite I was enthralled biggest smile on my face. A quick shout out to this the service there was on point there was always somebody at the table taking stuff off asking if there's anything else we need very tentative they always had someone move around it was like a clock everything moved smoothly. First bite the sourdough bread had that nice buttery slight crisp Blair soft in the middle, the eggs were fluffy buttery well balanced and the cheese top to bottom ooey gooey. And the bite of the whole sausage that they had cut up was perfectly cooked it was soft and melted in your mouth it wasn't full of spices very simple this is by far the best cafe I have been to. My mom ordered a buttermilk pancake it is huge in nature perfectly cooked. Soft in the middle it wasn't too sweet you can taste the belts between the pancake and the buttermilk I had my first bite and the first thought I had was how my grandma used to cook the pancakes it was perfection simply put. If you want something that is simple but delicious and every way and hits the spot as if you were a kid please go to the spot you won't be disappointed. I will be going back to try the lunch and dinner so stay tuned.

I was surprised to see a more modern tone. It was very clean from what I could see. The waitress was polite and very attentive. The prices were a bit higher, but you do get the same great food...same chef.

My wife and I have started having breakfast here, and I will say that the food is good and not too pricey the atmosphere is good the have low playing music and comfortable environment it is quiet enough to carry a conversation without having to raise one's voice the service could improve by checking on tables more frequently for drink refills or anything else but other than that so far so good let's hope and it only improves from here on forward good job.👍

The chicken and waffles was really good, and I liked the gravy and breading on my chicken fried steak. The steak and cornbread was a bit dry, and the mashed potatoes were alright. However, the I didn't want to trouble the really nice waitress by sending back my food, especially since there was plenty of chicken and waffles to eat yet.

Good breakfast corn beef hash and eggs sunny side up. Generous serving. Good coffee. Busy place and only downside is offhand service. All servers help each other out as busy but don’t seem too happy.

Karen's kitchen is a quaint little restaurant right in the middle of sleepy Quartzhill on 50th Street and it seems to be more centered towards breakfast brunch that sort of thing but I really like it. They have a patio set up outside the waitress was really nice and the food was really good matter of fact you can actually get a meal there and split it between you and your partner if you're hurting for money and the plates are big!! I mean it's really good food I enjoyed it and I think you will too

The restaurant is a small, cute place located just off the street with parking in the back. If you've never been there, drive slow so you don't miss the driveway that takes you to parking. They have indoor and outdoor shaded seating. Upon entering, the restaurant looked very clean and wasn't very busy. We came on. Sunday around 1230pm. It's labeled as country cooking but the ambiance didn't display anything country about it. Was very plain, but clean. Our orders didn't take too long. The server was so sweet and brought my grandparents their shared salad on two plates. Normally, it's brought on one plate, and you have to ask for a second plate to share. She heard them discussing they would share their meal, and she was so thoughtful to do this. I really wanted to give this 5 stars, but I have to be honest in my review. Even 4 stars is generous. The food was not that great. My grandparents ordered the 2 chicken breast meal, and the breasts were actually breast filets and were so thin and dry. The mashed potatoes were excellent, and it appeared they were actually whole mashed and not instant. However, the brown gravy used over them was way too much and way too salty. There was no flavor to it other than salt. The cornbread had good flavor but was very dry as well. My son ordered the hot turkey sandwich and asked for sourdough bread as his choice. The meal came as an open face sandwich that had so much of the same brown gravy as was on my grandparents' mashed potatoes. Again, it's way too salty and no flavor. It made it difficult to eat and completely saturated his bread. He was able to push some gravy off to the side and used the cranberry sauce that was provided for his meal but he left most of the turkey and mushy bread on his plate as it wasn't palatable. I ordered the waffle breakfast with over medium eggs and sausage links. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the sausage links were okay, but the waffle wasn't flavorful and was actually hard to cut because it was almost rubbery. It's hard to chew even with the syrup. I'm not sure what kind of batter is being used, but it needs improvement. My recommendation is for the owner and chef to really look at the recipes and even have some volunteers come in to sample products. There's so many people using frozen and packaged items, and it's disappointing. Anyone can buy and serve frozen/packaged food. But at least purchase good quality and flavourful frozen/ packaged food. This restaurant is labeled country cooking, and it has some work to do to be considered real country cooking. Service was beyond excellent the entire time. We never felt like we couldn't find our server. She was always making rounds and checked on through the meal while also allowing us time to eat and talk without her hovering. Perfect service. However, I unfortunately wouldn't come back until they made some changes with the food quality and flavor.

First time here but will give it another shot. The food lacked flavor, coffee could be better. Taste watered down and didnt like the french toast slices They were deep fried in the same oil as the french fries. The Denver skillet was good and waffles eggs Benedict was good too. Service was amazing and the atmosphere was good. Hope to give a 5 star next visit.

The food is good, I asked for crispy hashbrowns and they weren't, and the bacon was not completely cooked like I prefer. I like my bacon fully cooked, but not burnt. The eggs were perfect, the biscuits and gravy was great, the first thing I ate. Coffee was drinkable, black, definitely not that burned-sitting on the burner too long stuff. I was there in the early morning and it was quiet and only a few customers. The CON: There is only one bathroom, for everyone to use. So if they have half the place filled you are going to need to wait for a turn to use it. With being able to seat 50-60ish people, along with the outside seating, you could be waiting a long time! I say, still go and enjoy, just know what to expect.

The chicken was juicy and so full of flavor and perfectly crisp! The waffles, HUGE and thick! The serving was enormous. I could only eat 1/3 of it! The prices were beyond reasonable for this servings that they give. In comparison, I got chicken and waffles from a place in Valencia, I paid $20, I got half the amount I did today at Karen's, and it was not nearly as a flavorful and satisfying as what I ordered today. Everything I saw being served was very well portioned. Only complaint I heard was that the over easy eggs were over cooked to medium. Seriously this place was so good. Very clean, very open atmosphere, friendly waitresses, and the overall and beyonds was great. It was nice hearing families gathering together over a meal and laughing and enjoying each other's company. All good things to say about this place!!!

Typically, every time we've eaten at Karen's kitchen the food has been good and the service has been great! Today, the food was good the service was great and it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant. Apparently their heater has been broken for a few days and it was just absolutely freezing in there. The food cooled off quickly and it was just so uncomfortable being in there that you just wanted to hurry and eat and leave. I felt really sorry for the servers having to work in that environment today .You might want to call ahead to make sure it's fixed!

Eaten here a handful of times in the last two weeks. The food is ok. Never cooked the way I order it (not sure why it’s so hard to cook scrambled eggs well done) and honestly for being just a little place the food is pretty expensive.

Good was decent but nothing to really say is definitely go back. Chicken fried steak was chewy at times. the gravy is too sweet. Service was good. For the price you can go to Katz n scramblers across town for chicken fried actualsteak or the egg spot down the block for the California egg Benedict for example. Again nice people but Karen's is missing that homemade touch it used to have. Perhaps i need to go to the Palmdale location again, it has more of a personal touch maybe the cook is the difference.

It was just ok, I wish they would've told me about the portion size that way I could've shared my meal instead of waisting over have of my meal. But it was good ingredients and nice service. I'll go back again.

3/29/25 @1100, got eggs Benedict and biscuit and gravy for pick up. Online app had benefits at 17.50 and biscuits at 3.99 so I called to place phone order and picked up. Total was over $30! 20.65 plus 1.00 egg upcharge for the Benedict and 6.99 for the biscuits. Called to ask why ask they said was they haven't updated the app. First was 5/10 country potatoes were more like just potatoes and gravy tasted more like flour

I previously ordered on Uber eats from a different Karen’s Kitchen (the one on L). Called in an order thinking it was the L location realized I was wrong but still got the food because I thought the menus were similar. This Tuna melt was not good. Regular white bread with Kraft singles on it extra greasy. The location on L’s was amazing. It had grilled onions on rye with Swiss cheese. : / Pros- The location is modern and looks nice inside.

The food is very bland. Biscuits and gravy had no flavor, tasted like flour. The egg scramble was tasteless bland. Home fries bland potatoes were hard. Service was ok. Did not follow my order to separate my order. Don’t waste your time or money here. You can make better food at home. No salsa either.

We have ate at Karen's kitchen since #1. We have never had a bad meal. We just ate there for the last time $80.00 order and nothing was great but some things were extremely bad.... 6 people weren't happy... that's not good! 11.00 for chili and it had no beans that I had to pay extra for. Avocado was black... whoever put it on... knew it and still put it on. The bacon undercooked in the same omlette... it had to be thrown out. Never again!!!

Used to be a great place until the new owner took over. He's very stupid and has no idea of customer service. Plus he raised all the prices up about 40%. The new staff are ignorant and unfriendly and are mostly from the country south of us. The service has gone way down and they started substituting cheaper food. Over $16 for a basic breakfast after tax and tip. The quality is awful now. Good luck if you go there. Better go to the bank first.

1st time eating at Karen's & I've gotta be compleately honest, the food was pretty Bad, ordered a steak sandwich that tasted like it had been cooked in blood terrible taste! also ordered a double cheese burger very bland & dried out meat french fries were way over cooked just to add to my horrible eating experiance my bill was $41 & some change absolutely ridiculous way over priced for some horrible food!!! Don't know how they have 3 restaurants?

There were so rude they threw napkins at me I had to wait an hour just to get a dirty plate they gave me a sponge to eat they flipped me off and ran me over with thier roller skates. Then they stared meowing at me. And hit me with thier roller skates like eleven. And they hissed and growled an moaned at me.and said that I had alopecia

Our server was great. The greeter was not. Had to get up and get our menus after sitting for a while. The sausage was cold then I realized 2 links were still raw. I won’t be back. I tipped the mandatory tip because of the waitress. Sorry I won’t be back even if this place has great reviews. Maybe an off day but I can not eat raw food and it wasn’t worth me complaining so ?

They are not the original Karen’s. Take out chicken fried steak. Not just cold. But over medium eggs. No yolks hard and hashbrowns old. I mean threw the hasbrowns out. Ate only the whites of the eggs. Light white toast was very dark, which means crouton not soft. Steak was okay. It used to be the best dish $19.25. For this plate. 1 star. Cook either did not read the ticket or don’t know the difference or don’t care to serve old hashbowns they had to be sitting for 30 mins or more?! What happened to fresh hot hasbrowns

I love to go to a place with a good attitude and here i felt rushed and the waitress had a attitude and one thing I don't approve is workers taking in their aprons into the restroom that's a big NOOOO! a cook and a server took it in there u serve food and cook with it one come on place was cute.

I found a black hair stuck to my bacon. I pointed this out to the waitress, who was nonchalant about it, not at all apologetic, her response was just "I'll tell the cook". I didn't see the cook, but the black hair on my bacon was a good match for the long black hair of the waitress. I was offered a replacement piece of bacon, but not an offer to comp my meal or discount on my bill, which I think are typically offered in most places when a foreign object is found in the food.

The waitresses also are too busy enjoying their own conversations and will make you sit there and wait. This place also will sneak in a surcharge on your order without telling you. $50+ for only 2 people is insane. Definitely finding a better breakfast joint. This place is a joke.
