Opinions de Little Morocco Mediterranean Cuisine Queens
Steinway street has some tough competition when it comes to authentic North African food, but hands down, this is the best Moroccan restaurant in the area and possibly all of Queens. Anything coming off the grill is delightful. Falafels are great as well. Highly recommended when you are in the area. Indoor seating is limited so not suited for a formal dinner, but with enough outdoor seating, great for a casual alfresco dining. Gets crowded at nighttime during Ramadan since it’s across a mosque and they have an Iftar (breaking of the fast) menu. In the winter, you might be better off doing a takeout.
Stopped in around 1 or 1:30am on the way home from doing some hookah. The guys working there were really friendly, the food hit the spot and they even gave us some lentil soup on the house while we waited for our food.
If you want to eat a true true authentic Moroccan cuisine this is the BEST place !!!!!!! Amazing food, and the people are Sweet kind generous and so welcoming The prices are ridiculous the cheap compare to the food that you're getting. I'm so so strongly recommend.
The staff was super friendly, and even allowed us to sample Moroccan food that we didn’t know we needed! Such a great stop, and I highly recommended the chicken shawarma!
This is not the first time I come to Little Morocco. The food is delicious. Im a picky Moroccan when it comes to food and taste. I will continue to come to this restaurant every time I visit New York. The staff are friendly .
Absolutely phenomenal food, little to no space inside so recommended eating outside. The food is incredible
The food was bussin. Service was very kind. Love these guys.
My go to spot for home cooked food. Roasted chicken, lamb chops, fish, they've got it all. And it really feels like your mom made it. You'll pay triple for a dish this size in Manhattan
This place is delicious, fast, and cheap. Sure it's small, but it's not meant for formal dining in the winter. It's meant to serve fantastic lamb. A hidden gem.
Recently renovated, Little Morocco has been in business for a long time in Astoria. The food is high quality, authentic, and delicious. I especially enjoy eating and drinking mint tea in their outdoor seating areas when the weather is nice. Platters and sandwiches are all very filling. Competitive prices and great takeout options as well. Excellent choice for North African eats.
This restaurant is a great place for authentic Morroccan food. In the summer you can sit outside and enjoy your food. Their freshly brewed mint tea is the best I have ever had. We love to get the lamb shank and their grill combo. You will see local regulars hanging out at this spot year round. Parking is tough in this neighborhood so taking public transportation is best or be prepared to park a few blocks away.
Dear Manager: the food at Little Morocco is good - but the service is terrible. Tall guy with red cap is rude and unprofessional. Slow, impolite and he keeps asking for a bigger tip! He should be fired - he's bad for your business
Best food ever .. very Fresh .very tasty .. nutritious… very good serving size .. this is the food I can eat everyday outside .. otherwise we prefer home food .. Love .. Aqsa
Food is always good when dining in or ordering to go. Only drawback is I wish inside was bigger! Wonderful food with good portions.
Travelled to NYC to experience the different culture and cuisine in the city. The food here was delicious, and the hospitality was unmatched. Atif was so kind and treated us like family. I ate the lamb kebab sandwich and some others in the group ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and were very satisfied. Atif also gave us plates of rice and French fries so we could try more of what this place offered. Definitely try to eat at this place.
OMG delicious. Will return. I got the fried whiting, with the rice and vegetables. The mint tea is sweet. Highly recommend. The woman who brought our food out was incredibly friendly. They were out of falafel, but I will for sure go back for that. Just FYI, this is an outdoor seating situation, so just be aware that it may be chilly. There was a nineteen-year-old kid on a first date at a table near by, sort of yelling. He told the woman he was with that his favorite director was Francis Ford Cop-PO-pola. God I love New York.
Delicious and affordable food that is open late. Place is very small but food is excellent. The grilled meat is superb. The chicken sandwich is priced perfectly. Wonderful to have a halal meal anytime
Visiting Astoria with friends. Really good atmosphere to hang and meet the locals. Great food.
The food was amazing. The service was very kind. I recommend this restaurant to all.
Special travel 17-miles to get their *Harerrah* made with boiled original tomato sausage with others *Traditional Morocon* style spice. In fast food Cooked Grill Sandwich also delicious. Come Inn or Not, Costomers service great with *original Moroccan love ❤️ & smile for free any way.
Perfect, employees are very kind !! I recommend
Love the food! for Ramadan they give you a nice little iftar for free. This place is perfect if you are trying to find a place to eat with a large group of friends because its cheap! The best part is there is a masjid right across the street so if you need to pray after breaking your fast its right there! The service is fast and the people are nice.
The food ath little Morroco is just excellent
I missed eating middle eastern food, and we were in New York visiting my brother. We stopped at Little Morocco to have some middle eastern cuisine, and it brought me back home. The flavor, the aroma. I 100% recommend for anyone wanting some good middle eastern food. My family and I finished everything we ordered. Also, order tea with mint. It's delicious.
90% of the negative reviews are just salty people you see on the street that got nothing better to do. Truth is it tastes homemade but PRETTY good. Had a double cheeseburger ( why not ) and the quality and flavor of it was AMAZING. For the price it was fantastic and the chicken kebab sandwhich was great as well!
Had the lamb couscous. Very good. Great service as well
I got the lamb shank with rice and it was delicious. My boss got the meat combo and a tea which came out later than my meal and he had to prompt the server for his tea, but the food was good.
Stumbled in here with a friend randomly and was absolutely blown away. We got the fried crepes with honey and mint tea for breakfast. I don’t know what they did with that tea, and it was the best mint tea I’ve ever had in my life. Like UNREAL. Got the couscous with veggies and chickpeas for lunch (which ended up lasting me lunch and dinner). Phenomenal. Brought it back to work and shared it with some coworkers who were blown away. All in all great meal at a great price. Super friendly as well. Absolutely cannot wait to go back.
The food is great. There is a variety of fish lamb chicken and vegetarian dishes. The soups and salads are delicious and the service very quick and efficient. Don't forget to have a moroccan mint tea at the end of your meal. It seals the deal 😍
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! THE WORKERS ARE SO NICE I LOVE THE CHICKEN SHAWARMA IT’S A MUST HAVE!!!!! 1000000/10!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice place to eat at! Since it's ramadan right now they also offer a special ramadan iftar set where u can try different moroccan food. That was a nice meal! The Harira soup and other snacks were really authentic and delicious! Will try other dishes the next time I am in that neighborhood.
Loved everything! Lentil soup is the best I ever had. Also, the mint tea with fresh mint leaves brigs so much culture
the chicken tagine is absolute 🔥 big portion too just be careful of chicken bones ( but that goes for any time you eat whole chicken parts. ) so glad i found this place! definitely ordering from there again.
On god this might be one of my top 5 places to eat from of all time. I’ve been here with friends and family and I never had a bad experience. The food and tea here is so fire. Only one thing I would mention is their outdoor heater system they had previously was so cozy and I wish they brought it back.
Ate here twice. The lamb platter is fantastic with rice and fries. The lamb was flavorful and juicy, the rice was great, and the French fries were some of the best I've ever had. Our favorite during our stay. Portion was big enough to share.
I’ve ate here twice in the last month. It Was actually recommended by ChatGPT lol, the food was amazing, the chicken kebab the first time, and the baked chicken with rice, potatoes and veggies the second. Absolutely amazing. So tender and flavorful. I absolutely cant wait to go back!! It was me, my wife and our 2yr old. Everyone loved everything.
Little Morocco is one of the most authentic Moroccan restaurant in NYC. The tagines, couscous, and mint tea are all exceptional. The warm and inviting atmosphere, along with the friendly staff, make for a truly enjoyable dining experience. If you’re looking for genuine Moroccan cuisine in NYC, Little Morocco is the place to go!
Great food, really can’t ask for much more! The lamb fell off the bone so easily and was extremely flavorful — make sure to get some lamb or chicken. The kebab plate we ordered was amazing too, and the slices weren’t dry at all! (and were seasoned perfectly) Some of the best I’ve had. It was great having Moroccan food again, I would definitely recommend you try it out!
Little Morocco is the place to go when you want a twist on Middle Eastern food. The platters are beyond filling and the merguez sandwich is absolutely to die for. The service is good and the prices are easy on the wallet, and they have outdoor seating, too. Be sure to get a mint tea for dessert, it always hits the spot!
This has been my favorite place for the last 25 years. I love the couscous , which is only served on Fridays.
My first experience in Moroccan food, real service, but very home cooked food, sauce in the tajin kofta, delicious
The food is good, but the seating is very limited and the lack of A/C can make it very uncomfortable for lunch during summer time. Their kefta and sausage plates are really good
This is a basic neighborhood joint good for a quick and, at times, delicious meal. When on their game the food is five stars, but when not, three: in other words it's a roll of the dice. Still, I've been coming back for years so... The Moroccan mint tea is nice and there's outdoor seating and a so-so bathroom.
Pretty good dishes. Best time to visit is Friday afternoon. You'll have the most options, and you'll thank me. Lamb shank is usually the test for a Moroccan restaurant, and it falls off the bone here. Probably the best spot in Astoria. You'd have to venture far out in Long Island or deep in Brooklyn to find better. Also the staff is friendly, and very open to questions. The bread is amazing here, btw.
Website with menu information is outdated. Bathroom isn't very pleasant. Otherwise it's a pretty decent spot. My husband loves that he can have some food from his home country. The people behind the counter are nice and respectful. It's great that you can see them cooking in front of you so you know what's going on with your food. Inside is a bit cramped but they do have outside seating. Prices are reasonable and they give nice portions. Definitely a nice spot to check out and enjoy some genuine Moroccan food.
Felt like my corner deli I always go to grab a bite and catch up with the staff. The place is small and not the cleanest but the food was good and felt home made. It was served quickly, priced very well and they gave you pretty much anything you asked for, be it extra salt, extra spices or more potatoes. Location is a great spot in Steinway, parking is not bad. It's not meant for fine dining. It's a cozy place with friendly staff.
Got a kebab platter, chicken platter & meatball platters. All the meat was delicious & the rice was soft & flavorful. I just wish they would put a little more meatballs in the meatball platter. Hummus is perfect 👌. They have a few tables inside but it's a bit congested & they also have outdoor dining space.
I like this restaurant; however, some visits have been better than others. My visit I asked for a dish I didn't get.
ATMOSPHERE: - Small place on a corner with outside seating. - Being that it's on a street you are going to get whatever noise comes with the traffic outside. SERVICE: - The staff, at least during lunch, wasn't that accommodating. I'm completely ignorant when it comes to Moroccan food and I felt like I wasn't being helped to make decisions on what to order. - Any question I asked about what was on the menu was met with some hostility/aggressiveness. - The service wasn't all that friendly and it lacked the proper etiquette you would expect from some of the other ethnic eateries I've been to. FOOD: - Lamb Kebab - Yellow Rice - Salad (Lettuce, corn, beets, vinegar, and oil...olive oil???) - Prices: $13. - The portions were small and not very satisfying. DRINKS: - Ginger Ale Cola PRICE: - $13
New Update: Went on July 13th at 12:55 PM ordered lamb shank, no vegetables were given besides potatoes - very disappointed. Lamb shank was great! Old Reviews: Went here on a Sunday during Iftar time, was told about the iftar plate for $18.99 which was an egg, dates, 2 Moroccan snacks and a soup. I don’t know if I’m missing it but $18.99 is a ridiculous price to charge. Anyways got the Lamb Shank and the Meat Platter both were really good, I do recommend checking it out. Total came out to $52 including tax for both meals - so on pricier side too but give it a shot However gets really busy during iftar time, so service does lack.
Very average food as well as the service. It is anything but representative of Moroccan cuisine. I had a tagine once, a sandwich and a soup a second time. Neither one nor the other makes me want to return.
Food was tasteless ordered lamb and chicken tagine that came with rice and peas. Hummus was on the sour side not sure why.Lamb was well cooked. Merguz platter came with 5-6 merguz few fries and small salad on the side. Asked for 3 containers to go one of the employees didn’t want to give the third one, when I insisted he smacked it towards the other employee who then gave it to me. Owner should train the employees so there are not disrespecting customers. Brother at the register was reasonable. I had better Moroccan food else where.
I went to Little Morocco especially to try their couscous, which was listed on the menu. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available when I visited, and I was a bit disappointed. The menu also wasn’t very varied I didn’t find many North African or Mediterranean specialties that I expected. Hopefully, they’ll expand their menu in the future.
Reda Elhasnaoui the guy who works here is a s3xual predator, he seems like a normal sweet nice person but its the opposite, numbers(9) of girls are coming up and saying that they were victims, one of the girl said he forced her to have s3x with her threatening to beat her up if she didn't do what he says and she showed us a video of him forcing her to have oral s3x, he also lies and uses people for money and he never uses protection HE IS SPREADING STDS AND HIV, hes definitely bad for business, watch out for this person plss spread AWARENESS, thank you have a nice day
Ordered door dash from here and it was horrible. The bread was stale and kebab was tasteless. Literally one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had.
Food was ok at best, service was subpar and staff was argumentative 14 ways from Sunday about what items were supposed to come with the meal even though it's in plan English on the menu. I'll choose a different restaurant next time.
We went to this place a few days ago. They provided some free food for Iftar which is great. However, the actual platter we ordered (Chicken Shawarma Platter) was awful. The chicken and rice had no taste, and they were drowning in liquid. Please do not go here for chicken shawarma. EDIT: The restaurant owner told me they don’t have chicken shawarma. Wtf is that on their menu? It literally says chicken shawarma!! Changed to one star.
Food this restaurant on Ubereats and the reviews looked decent so I decided to give it a try , very disappointing was the food . The Tagine Chicken was nothing more than dry baked chicken with yellow rice and snow peas on the dide side, it was bland . I have Tagine plenty of times and this definitely was NOT Tagine. I had ordered 1 Chicken Tagine and 1 Chicken Couscous but my ordered was screwed up and I received 2 Tagines . I contacted the restaurant in the person who I spoke to said that Couscous is only made of FRIDAYS (HUH) . If that was the case why did the Ubereats app allow me to order a nonexistent dish? I also ordered the Falafel and Hummus both were fine , the mixed vegetables was a disappointing because it was loaded with bland carrots and broccoli. Would I ever order from here again ? NO! I will stick to the real Moroccan restaurants and one final note when I called the restaurant to tell them that my order was screwed up , the man who answered the phone was rude .
I'm not sure why there is so much hype for that restaurant. First of all, it doesn't serve traditional Moroccan cuisine. Secondly, the food is decent but nothing special, and the kitchen doesn't seem very clean. The staff also isn't very welcoming - when I walked in to order, they looked at me like I was an alien.
I ordered one time the Moroccan sausage sandwich that came out excellent with sauce and peppers. I went another day and I asked for the same sandwich but it was not that good it was missing the Moroccan touch of the sauce and other real Moroccan ingredients I don’t think the cook was Moroccan please change the name from little Morocco to what ever and the guy gave me burned Raif رغيف حشومة … عاملوا الجميع بالمساوات كان فرق حتي في المعاملة لاحول ولاقوة Thanks
Genuinely horrible food. The shawarma was in a tortilla instead of a pita. I have never seen this in my life. The meat was bland and left like someone sucked all the flavor out of it and threw it on a plate. The yellow rice was bland. How is that even possible for yellow rice. You literally have to season it for it to change color. Don't be like me and waste $30 on this place
It’s not an authentic Moroccan place. It was dirty, employees were dirty, spoke only Spanish, no English at all. One of them weirdly included himself into our conversation. Kebab meat was dry, greasy bread with meat dish barely had any meat in it and wasn’t flavorful at all. Side dishes looked mushy. We left disappointed.
