Great food with a view. Had lunch today with a friend at Asaka. Food was d'lish. Place was super clean. Even as I was leaving they had people wiping down hi traffic touch areas like the doors and chairs where people were waiting. They made a speciality roll that I wanted. Service was quick and I love how they didn't take off with my cc; they had a portable machine that I tapped my card with. Receipt printed from the machine too. I'm heading back again soon.
Good place to go, Dragon Roll is awesome, sushis are good. Fresh fish and tasty. The view is beautiful when you are outside. The fire place gives you warm enought to stay on the terrasse when it's cold outside. I've been here few times and I will go back definitly.
Fresh sushi, delectable tempura, and a beautiful ocean view - what's not to like? We were seated right away, and our waitress was fun, attentive and very helpful with the menu. Will definitely come here again
All the food was great specially the Sushi, one of the best I've had in awhile. Service was ok for me, but I overheard the waiter talking nicely to some folks that seem to be "usuals". The atmosphere was wonderful as we had great views of the ocean. This place could be a wonderful place for a date night.
Good food, decent price, and friendly staff. They were quick to help and serve as well. Started with calamari, it was average. The seared Ahi, good quality and quite tasty. I would definitely recommend it. So got the spicy tuna rolls, quite good as well. Overall the food was good and the quality was great too. If you are looking for good sushi and a view, this place is one to go to.
DELICIOUS! Those are the words my family uses when leaving the Asaka Restaurant, located in Rancho Palos Verdes. The food is always delicious and presented with style! The Tempura is light and crispy, and the Sushi and Sashimi is always served fresh, and looks like a picture. Treat yourself and family to a delicious meal while dining to an ocean view!
It was sooooo good we ate there twice in 3 days! All the way from Calgary, AB Canada - Asaka didn't disappoint us at all. Great service, yummy food, the patio was really nice in the early evening under the portable propane heaters. Great place and would highly recommend.
The best spot to eat is on the patio. It's a beautiful ocean view with a nice breeze. Each table includes a sun umbrella and hand sanitizer 😷. The food and the service is great! My personal favorite is the sushi burrito 🤪😋! They also provide you with a disposable paper menu with the option to discard or keep.
Absolutely love this place! Super fresh fish, great vibes, and an amazing ocean view. We sat by the window and could see the sunset while enjoying our sushi — so relaxing! The rolls were delicious (highly recommend the Bluefin toro roll!), and the presentation was beautiful. You can really tell the chefs care about quality here. Service was friendly and fast, and the whole experience just felt easy and enjoyable. Prices are fair for the quality and view you get. Perfect spot for a nice dinner date or weekend lunch. Definitely coming back soon!
Can’t beat sushi with this view! We came around sunset and it was absolutely gorgeous — the sky turned pink and orange right over the ocean. The patio seating was warm and cozy with little lights everywhere. The sushi was super fresh (especially the yellowtail and toro!) and the staff were so friendly. Perfect place for a chill evening with friends or date night.
Absolutely loved this place! Fresh, high-quality sushi with beautiful presentation. The seaside view is breathtaking, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. Perfect spot for a relaxing meal. Highly recommend!
The presentation of the dishes was equally impressive. Each plate was meticulously arranged, showcasing the vibrant colors and intricate details of the sushi. It was clear that the chef took great pride in his work, and the presentation enhanced the overall dining experience.
Had lunch here today after a friend’s recommendation, and it did not disappoint! We got the Sashimi Bento Box and the California Box—both were super fresh, well-portioned, and delicious. We were lucky to get a window seat, and the view was incredible. Clear skies, calm ocean, and you could see for miles. We ended up sitting there for hours just chatting and soaking it all in. Great food, peaceful atmosphere—will definitely be back.
Amazing place to have a sushi or sashimi, as well as other food. Seriously. Fresh food and friendly service always. Almost always, abd some times even better. Sunsets here are designed to remember, so you better make it special...., even for yourself. Or not.... Gentle breeze and view of the most powerful ocean are a huge compliment. Unless you are afraid of tsunami. My place to go... for sure
We came here after a hike along the coast—perfect way to end the day with good food and a gorgeous view. Volcano roll is so delicious and fresh fish. Will come back next time.
Has a good view of the beach, outdoor and indoor seating. The chicken and tempura bento box is 16 during lunch. Wonderful service. Became our new favorite japanese restaurant. Thank you 😊.
Came across Asaka while visiting Palos Verdes and decided to give it a try — so glad we did! We sat out on the patio, which had a great view and a really relaxing vibe. The yellowtail carpaccio was super fresh, and the crispy rice spicy tuna hit the spot. Everything tasted great, and the service was friendly too. Definitely planning to come back next time I’m in town. Love it.
Great place to enjoy a reasonably priced lunch special while enjoying a beautiful ocean view. Weather outside is almost always nice here. While the parking lot is quite large, there are a lot of businesses that share this lot so spaces can get scarce at peak times.
We came here couple years ago and just recently came again. Love those sushi rolls and ocean view from the place. So pretty. Definitely come back
Gorgeous view from the patio overlooking the Pacific. Service is kinda slow, but with views like this you won't be in a hurry. The sushi is excellent. Had the Double Real Crab Roll, a daily special and iced green tea.
The restaurant offers delicious food and boasts a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean. The staff is attentive and creates a welcoming atmosphere. Their pet-friendly patio is a bonus for dog owners like myself. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Some of the BEST Avocado I've ever had, wow. Sushi is delicious, so was Tofu and seaweed salad. Yum!

After a relaxing walk at Point Vicente Park, we came here for sushi and ended up having such a wonderful evening. Watching the sunset while enjoying fresh sushi was the perfect way to unwind. The fish was incredibly fresh, the rice was well seasoned, and every bite tasted clean and balanced. The service was warm and friendly, and we had a great time chatting with the staff, which made the experience feel even more special. A fantastic sushi spot . we’ll definitely be back.
This spot in Palos Verdes is absolutely stunning — ocean views that calm your soul and sushi that rivals the best. Every bite of the omakase was perfection — fresh, delicate, and beautifully balanced. The toro literally melts in your mouth, and the uni tastes like pure ocean breeze. Service is thoughtful and refined, and the staff truly care about what they serve. Paired with sunset over the Pacific, it’s the kind of dining experience that stays with you.
You can tell the owner takes so much pride in cultivating a friendly atmosphere and delicious food. Their sushi is delicious and a must have if you’re in the area. I’ve been going here with my family for a few years and love supporting Asaka as the quality and service are outstanding.

During Covid 19, any place that serve food outside deserves gratitude. Simple place with ocean view. Our food was good. We had fashion roll, super philly and Tonkatsu chashu along with hot sake (buy one ger one for free). Meat in Tonkatsu chashu was chewy, that's the only downfall. We live in a neighborhood so we come here once in a while.
I love dinning outside in the patio. You will feel the fresh ocean breeze and the view is a million dollars view. It over look the Pacific ocean. Good food, nice friendly service and the price is right.

Appetizers were good. Ono sashimi was great, gyoza was good, nothing special. REALLY disappointed with the tonkatsu ramen. Very bland flavor, I've had package ramen that had more flavor than this. Had to add lots of soy sauce to it to make it appetizing. Definitely don't recommend the ramen. However, my friend got the teriyaki beef and really liked it
The food was OK but very pricey for what it was. Service was a bit slow. It's not a bad place but if I'm going to spend $60 / person this is not the place. I'm assuming the price include the view on the ocean which would be good for a sunset dinner or lunch. I was there at night therefore this aspect wasn't a factor in my experience.
The best part of the dining experience was the view of the ocean! How relaxing to be by the blue ocean on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The food itself was decent. I wouldn't say it's the best sushi I have ever had, but it was still good. The value of the lunch specials + the awesome view made the dining experience. I got the roll combo for $10.95 (4 pieces california roll, 4 pieces spicy tuna, 3 piece tuna roll, 3 piece cucumber roll, and 1 hand roll). Unfortunately, service was not great. I think they were understaffed today because when we showed up, I asked to sit outside and the waitress said there weren't any bussers today to clean up so we had to wait. After 10 minutes, she still had not seated us and so I went up to ask how long the wait would be, but she kept running away from me to serve her tables. I'd like to think that this was just an off day for them.
I was in the area and walked by this place and decided to give it a try. The reviews were not the best but I still went in. The staff is friendly and helpful. Interior looked a little old and not resembled in my opinion Japanese vibes. The outdoor are with an ocean view is what saves this place. I ordered gyoza which came out to be PF Chang prepacked gyoza from Target I swear. Tasted exactly the same both gyoza and the sauce. I also orders Spider Roll which I have never had before. Taste was not bad but weird. It had a carrot and ginger I believe which made it taste worse. It was on a pricy side for the quality and was almost empty on Saturday at 4pm So the food is below average but the server was great and attentive. Not the best place for sushi for sure. The sushi was pretty good but there were some things that really sucked. Let's start with the good, the yellowtail baja roll was pretty awesome, lots of yellowtail in it and it tasted pretty fresh! Also surprisingly the tuna stuffed jalapenos tempura were pretty good as well. They also had karage popcorn chicken which was okay but a little on the dry side. You definitely need a dipping sauce with this one but if not it's pretty dry. The thing's that were not so good was the crispy salmon skin rolls, that was pretty disappointing and disgusting. It was cooked salmon and the skin was not even a tad crispy, it was soft and chewy, so stay the hell away from that. It shouldn't even have the name crispy salmon skin, it should be called sawggy gross skin. The green tea ice cream looked amazing but didn't really taste like green tea or like the normal green tea ice cream you find at all other sushi restaurants. Pass on the green tea ice cream. The Udon was okay, I've had better tasting ones. Overall stick with the sushi at this place.
Great costumer service! -Organic garden salad, The dressing was not my favorite. It was very potent with onion/spice and did not seem to fit the salad well in my opinion. -The truffle albacore crispy onion, The albacore was a bit on the fishy side And I did not taste much truffle. -Tiger roll with spicy tuna addition, The shrimp was a bit on the over cooked side. I enjoyed the roll without the slice of shrimp on top :)

This was not a very good Japanese restaurant. Our first visit. The food, of course, was pricier than normal. That is not the issue. It is expected after the Covid period. The key dissatisfaction - was the portion the taste. It was small and only half a plate and tasted aweful. Look at the half plate of ramen. Waterly and tasteless miso soup noodle bowl.
Ordered delivery and was so disappointed in the food quality. We ordered 2 avocado rolls, 2 vegetable rolls. 2 tempura rolls, a sunom9no and the salad. All items had avocado in them except the sunomono. And all items had extremely brown rotten avocado. Totally embarrassing that this was even contemplated to be served. How could rotten brown avocado go into multiple dishes and be served to people. So this place serves rotten food!!!! The salad dressing was disgusting. Tasted like a wet rag that had sat on a counter for 5 days. Called the restaurant to remedy and they acted like it wasn't their fault. Called the delivery service. They fully refunded after I sent them photos. The restaurant should have stepped in immediately. Never again will we even contemplated ordering from here again. Garbage food. Garbage customer service.
I went there for the first time 5 years ago and the sushi rolls were so bad , I decided today to try again and give it another chance, I was really tired to go home and cook after a very busy afternoon with my 2 boys. We order 2 kids Meals, with teriyaki chicken and California rolls , the chicken was so bad, cold, no flavor, my kinds 10yo and 8 yo just try it and refuse to eat it. I try it and it was so disappointed. I order 2 sushi rolls they were eatable, but no good , very bland and the rice was hard.. that was the worst way to waist my money. I paid $100 for these. I can believe that this place still open.
Went ther for lunch today had the bbq beef ribs a beer and garlic cajan edamame wasnt sik before i walked in , cudnt wait to leave as the waiter no doubt about it put visine in my food or beer, i heaved! The sec i got in my car! Thanks leo! Never go here, ull come out sik! Ive never even writtin a review, on any establishment! But ill be damed if i let this go! Horrible sevice and horrible food! Thanks leo p! Im NOT even givin u one star! Ur not worth it, i wud watch who you hire n watch him carefully as people shouldnt eat at your establishment n come out sik!!!!
