Avenue Italy

Avenue Italy is a surprising restaurant to find in Palos Verdes. At first glance on entering you can tell the chef is Italian and that the dining room has European touches. I had the fettuccine di mare (shrimp & scallop) with a Californian Sauvignon Blanc - the table was set beautifully with linen napkin and heavy ornate cutlery on a marble tabletop. Then I went straight for dessert trying the Limoncello Sorbetto and Tirra Misu finishing with an Italian espresso. At $100USD plus tip this is an upmarket restaurant. There is room for large functions and family celebrations here. Viva Italiano style!!!

Wow, I was working down the street and found them next to where I get gas. Number the food was the absolute best veal I ever had. The server John was Awsome, dry sense of humor and cute. I can’t believe how good this place is after a horrible week I found paradise.

Such a great restaurant! After being in Italy for over a week, and finding this little gem to have similar great food as over there! It has an amazing aperol spritz just as good as I had in Rome and Venice Italy! Thank you for such amazing food, drinks, and service!

I popped into Avenue Italy while visiting my parents nearby, and let me just say—the Spaghetti aglio olio e pepperino cheese was out of this world. I asked for extra garlic and chili flakes (because that’s how we do it when you’ve got Sicilian roots!), and they understood the assignment. Perfectly balanced, flavorful, and spicy in all the right ways. The Manhattan from the bar? Excellent. Strong, smooth, and clearly made by someone who knows what they’re doing. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing—exactly what you want in a spot like this. It’s a little far from home, so I’m not sure I’ll be a regular—but if I’m in the area again, especially visiting my folks, I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic Italian with elevated cocktails and a welcoming vibe.

10/5/23 Simply fantastic. My wife and I stopped for lunch after visiting mom at Avenue Italy. We started with drinks and the eggplant parmesean for an appetizer, and wow, it was fantastic. Ernesto, our server, was amazing, professional, and friendly. The young man bussing tables was also kind and quite efficient. This place is a favorite when we are in the area. The decor and interior are quite exquisite and impressive. We sat in the patio and had a nice ocean breeze. For one entrees my wife had the branzino entree, and I had the salmon entree. Both dishes were well presented and prepared with flavor and perfectly seasoned. My compliments to the chef. This is a wonderful restaurant, and the food, service, and ambiance are stellar. Highly recommended. Previous visit What a fantastic find. We had a wonderful late lunch at Avenue Italy just off the coastline of Rancho Palos Verdes in the Golden Cove Center. We were taken to a nice table for two by the host and shortly after greeted by our amazing server, Ernesto. We started with drinks and the eggplant appetizer and oh so good. After our appetizer we ordered our entrees. My wife ordered the Halibut with lemon capers, roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables and she loved it. I ordered the Filet Mignon with spinach and tomatoes and it was delicious. Ernesto was very attentive and quite knowledgeable about the menu items and preparation etc. The meals were superb and the portions quite generous. The bread was also delicious and the bottled water refreshing. We also tool an order of 4 meatballs with marinara sauce home for tomorrow. Simply an amazing place and they have live entertainment on Tuesdays. Highly recommended.

This was a great spot for a late Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere close to the water with a nice secluded patio area (hard to tell it's right next to a parking lot). Staff were friendly and attentive and food was really good.

We love this place. Neighborhood Italian restaurant. Great pasta dishes. And amazing pizzas: very thin crust, delicious!!!! Seafood is always fresh and tasty. I only wish they had more drink options along with wine list. Why do you have to go there? They have spumoni - Italian ice cream!!! That's all I have to mention)

Really lovely Restaurant close by the sea. Delicious food, friendly service, reasonable prices. They have 2 outdoor areas, too. The owners seem to be italian because the interior, kitchen, music, everything is very Italian. Hard to find places like this in the US. Thank you for your hospitality!

Awesome place to eat, but to be fair I was famished! Had a long day on a film set and came here after I was done for the day. Ordered a pizza and a glass of Chianti. Food was delicious, service was fast, prices were reasonable, and the staff were great. Beautiful area right off the coast. Will stop back here when in the area.

My Favorite Italian Restaurant I always get shrimp and scallop Alfredo with squid ink pasta and My wife with her Fettuccine al Limone con Capesante with scallops and for our side calamari . Awesome service , Great Staff and Delicious!!:)

This place is super classy, great Italian food and drink, and a pleasant environment. Tasty pastas and savory pizzas round out the menu. PV is so lucky to have this place, but if you’re not from the area, it is still well worth the drive! Buono! Grazi a Mille!

I have dined here a few times. We celebrated our grandsons graduation and had dinner here. The food is delicious with a great atmosphere and great service. It is off the beaten path but we'll worth it.

Sauce was runny, veal was chewy..not enough to complain about, but nothing to write home about either. Would go back for a traditional Italian meal knowing what to expect.

Cute neighborhood Italian restaurant with fresh ingredients and genuine service. The mixed green salad with walnuts, raisins (?), and beets was perfectly dressed with balsamic vinergrette, though came with too much chopped beets for my taste Linguini with clams was a perfect Al dente and lightly seasoned. Herbed olive oil that comes with focaccia was good. Service was prompt and friendly.

3 of us went, made reservations for 5pm and asked for a real nice table. One of us has been going to this restaurant for 5 years, first time for the others. Upon arrival, the restaurant was mostly empty and it didn’t matter that we had any reservations, all the nice tables were already earmarked for use later. We were seated and within a minute our server wanted to know our drink order before we had looked at any menu. The server seemed highly agitated and annoyed that he had to wait on us the entire evening. We finally ordered our food after waiting for quite awhile for our server to come back, even though the restaurant was not busy at all. Our food was good, not great like we’d hoped and the service continued to be very sub par. One of us ordered Linguini and Clams and was never given anything to put the clamshells in. We had to ask for grated cheese, he never offered us any more wine or bread, on and on. Needless to say: -VERY poor service -decent food -ambiance not great even though there was live music, it was quite noisy and even a big screen tv??? We’ll definitely look for another nice Italian restaurant.

I called ahead to check if the patio is dog friendly and I was told yes. We arrived at opening 11am and sat down in the empty patio. The server came out and instantly said no big dogs allowed because they get busy. If you're only going to allow small dogs then advise if the person calls ahead. So we went next door to tamatillo where they happily put two tables together for our party. Almost an hour later we walked by avenue Italy and it was still 100% empty! What a joke of a restaurant. I would assume an empty restaurant would welcome the business.
