We've been coming here for years and I swear I haven't had one bad dish from this restuarant. The Pad Thai is my go-to. Their chili oil is homemade and I'm dying to get the recipe 😭 The staff are really friendly as well.
So me and the kid wandered in here after Comicon and we have never eaten here before. This Tia place is awesome! The food was so delicious! Even my 16 year old said his soup was amazing. He never had a soup with bean noodles before and he loved it. He even asked if we could take one of them home to cook for us. Then there was the extreme friendliness of the entire staff that the 16 year old also noticed and commented on! Jack was very helpful, and our waitress Rose was also beyond kind and courteous. I was so impressed with the meal, I went to compliment the cook, and it turned out he was the owner! Well done Sai! I forgot what I had was called, but it had chicken, onions, mint, served with cucumbers and leaf lettuce. It was served in the old Korean style of bulgogi Rice I use to have when I was stationed at Kwang-Ju AB, Korea! Big was also helpful. This place operated like a well oiled machine, and the food came out very very quick. So I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back, all the way from Red Bluff!
Very nice experience here! The pricing is average for this kind of place and its small and very busy. The staff were very nice and the food was great, was able to afford it because i was gifted a 50$ gift card that covered two people wth appetizers dessert and drink perfectly and I would absolutely reccomend. I had a clear noodle soup that was very yummy ☆☆
Delightful Experience: I recently dined at Champa Garden Restaurant on a bustling Friday evening at 6 pm, and despite the rush, my experience was nothing short of delightful. My party and I ordered a variety of dishes including the avocado spring rolls, pad kea moa, pad thai, and chow mein with beef, and each dish exceeded our expectations. Despite being short-staffed, the wait was surprisingly short, which speaks volumes about the efficiency and dedication of the team. The staff members were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and attentive, ensuring that despite the busy atmosphere, we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. Their warmth and professionalism truly added to the overall dining experience. As for the food, each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, resulting in flavors that were nothing short of exceptional. The avocado spring rolls were fresh and packed with flavor we ate most of them before taking the photo lol, while the pad kea moa, pad thai, and chow mein with beef were all cooked to perfection, showcasing a delicious blend of ingredients and spices.
Did a pit stop on my way down California. It was convenient and right off the freeway. I was really surprised about how good the food was here. If you need spices or fish sauce you can ask for it and they'll give it to you. If wherever in the area again, we're definitely going to be stopping by again.
Wow! This place is a hidden gem in the middle of Redding. I would never have thought Redding to have so much diversity but here is a little Thai restaurant with such amazing flavors! This food could easily compete with offerings from the bay area! Their pat Thai has perfect balance of sweet sour and salty flavors. Their curries have amazing flavor and texture packed with traditional ingredients. Lastly their mango coconut rice is the perfect dessert to compete your meal. My wife and I would be willing to come back to Redding just to have more of this restaurant.
It took long research on what restaurant to visit while passing Redding, Ca, came to a conclusion Champa Garden would be a good match . Arrived around 1pm and although not so busy many had walked in after. The young woman that greeted us was very nice and allowed us to choose our table. We’re a table of 2 but didn’t want to sit at a small table because I knew I would be ordering a few dishes. I scoped out the menu the night before so I knew what I wanted… The Lao style sausage w a side of sticky rice, papaya salad and a noodle dish. I mean the sausage is uncommon in my area so I had to get it, can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a good papaya salad and we opted for the good ol’ pad se ew. Lao style sausage – I love that each piece was fried to perfect crispiness, the overall flavor was amazing – you can taste the lemongrass, galangal, chilies, cilantro and it paired well with the sweet chili sauce. Papaya salad – so addicting with every bite you can’t help but want to eat more as you fight the spiciness and tears from the heat. I usually add a couple of Thai chilies to my papaya salad but I’m glad I said just 1, Never had papaya salad with a side of rice noodles but I really enjoyed it and will definitely start pairing my salad with it from now on. Pad Se ew – I appreciate people that can adapt to their surroundings for instance, pad se ew typically uses gailan (Chinese Broccoli) instead they use American broccoli and carrots. The flavor was all there and tasted delicious!
You gotta try the Champa special fried rice—look at that juicy shrimp! The rice is lusciously tossed in a Tom Yum style dressing and the tomatoes add the perfect umami balance. Paired with fresh spring rolls starter and noodle soup, it’s a perfect way to warm the tummy on a cold winter’s day. The staff are so friendly too.
My only complaint has to do with the service. The food was tasty, and the hostess was super friendly, offering water while we waited for a table. However, her energy felt rushed. The whole atmosphere feels rushed. She offered us a menu while we were waiting and then asked if we wanted her to take our order before sitting down. That should have been a red flag that they would try to rush us out so they could turn the table. I probably would have been fine with all of that, but when the waiter brought our food, he flung it onto the table so fast it gave me whiplash. No interaction with us. My husband asked for another beer. We weren’t sure he even heard us, but a couple of minutes later he brought a beer, saying, “You asked for another beer, right?” I’m happy this place is popular and that they’re able to turn tables around so fast, but the place feels rushed and not the type of restaurant that makes you feel welcome to sit and enjoy your food. This place would be great if the waitstaff just took a couple of extra seconds to acknowledge their customers. There is room for improvement. To the male waiter — you do not need to power-walk around the restaurant flinging food onto the tables. It ruins the ambiance. Slow down a little; it would make for a much better experience for your customers.
Arriving late in town, we chose Champa Garden Thai for dinner. The noodle soup and Thai iced tea were delightful. However, an unusual issue arose with our seating - the chairs were freshly painted and the paint hadn't dried, leading to it sticking to our clothes. While this caused some inconvenience, especially to my new light grey pants, the response from the staff was commendable. The manager/owner came out to apologize personally and even refunded our meal as a gesture of goodwill. Exceptional customer service in light of an unexpected situation!
Tasty food. Good service. Husband enjoyed his. Good on the noodles and the sauce. I liked the sauce on mine, but not the best for me regarding the fried tofu — bit over fried — chewy spongy. Maybe a bit more on the expensive side versus other Thai places we’ve eaten. It’s tough to judge these days plus we are road tripping. Overall, we’d eat here again. :)
Was a little skeptical at first about this restaurant. However, glad we went and tried. This place is good. This was our first time trying Laos cuisine. Similar to Thai but definitely had a unique taste. The Pho was great as well! Our appetizer came in just a tad bit salty but the rest was awesome. Recommend if you wanna try something different.
The people who work there are completely incompetent, and the food is terrible. I placed a phone order for a pineapple fried rice and was quoted 15 minutes. When I arrived, the guy couldn't locate my order and finally found it on the counter. I gave him my credit card and went to the restroom to wash my hands, and they left the food unsupervised, and someone else took the food. I spent another 15 minutes waiting for my order. When I finally got the food, it was very greasy, undercooked, and smelled like old rice. I couldn't even eat half of the food and ended up going somewhere else. I don't understand how they have such positive ratings.
