Opinions de Nomadic Kitchen Redwood City
My husband and I came here for dinner and it was beyond amazing. The staff were super friendly, the service was quick, and they gave great recommendations. We shared the Mezze Combination with hummus, dill tzatziki, ezme, and pink lady (to which they added the other options as samplers 😊) and Lahmacun. We didn’t leave a single crumb and ordered Kunefe for dessert which was also bright with a side off menu dessert. We will be back and I can’t wait to try everything else. They also have dog friendly outdoor seating so we will have to bring our dog along next time too.
Hasan was our guide to having the most enjoyable meal experience at his restaurant. We tried a variety of dishes: kebabs, “pizzas”, sides, and desserts. Everything was fresh, well prepared, well seasoned, and just delicious! If you want an authentic Turkish cuisine experience, visit nomadic kitchen.
Nomadic Kitchen is a truly excellent addition to downtown Redwood City. Very unique offerings relative to the rest of the area. The food is layered with nuanced and thoughtful flavors. It's obvious the owner shows and loves what they're doing. There are a few solid vegetarian options as well. Would recommend for anyone seeking a new and unique option in the area.
5 out of 5!!! It was the first time visiting our friend's restaurant and I truly cannot recommend it high enough. Everything made fresh from scratch. The amazing mezze platter is beyond! My daughter is a very picky eater, but she was over the moon. So much so, she asked to make a sign that now hangs proudly in the kitchen. Hasan and Whitney run this restaurant with love and open arms. You don't want to miss it.
Nomadic Kitchen in Redwood City is a true Turkish delight! The anchovy fish was fresh and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the crisp salad and fine wine. The specially made bread was outstanding—warm, soft, and full of taste. The chef’s engaging chat added a personal, welcoming touch. With its authentic dishes and warm hospitality, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience!
Amazing food! My wife and I got the baba ghanoush, hummus, dolma, and white bean appetizer spread. They were all delicious, and our order came with a few extra spreads than what we ordered. The falafel are delicious, the lamb kebab was amazing, and the nomadic pide was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Unique delicious Turkish food! I particularly loved the appetizers - a huge variety of items (hummus, babaganoush, beans, etc, etc) to dip freshly made bread in. According to the owner, pretty much everything is made from scratch in an authentic Turkish way. They are super friendly. The restaurant is not the most visible from the road, so make the effort to find it!
We stopped by for lunch randomly and were absolutely impressed! The mezze combination was awesome with a rich variety of so many small bites to try. And the beef kebab plate came with fresh side salad and rice, and everything was just yummy. The owner was busy but warm and welcoming. Such a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!
We recently saw this place opened and stopped by for lunch before heading to the movies in Downtown Redwood City Wow - we were not expecting this place to be so amazing! The food is next level. The presentation, authenticity, variety, and flavors - we ate every single bite. The owner was walking around and giving out samples of other dishes he wanted us to try - it felt like we were in his personal kitchen and he was entertaining us for lunch. We ordered the Mezze combo (The Esme is out of the world), the Lentil Soup (best we have had in the bay), and the Turkish Pides. I recommend every dish and every Mezze - we will be back!
Great Turkish food! I love the beef and onion pide (kinda like Chinese samsa or stuffed pie), and it’s cooked to the perfectly balanced texture and taste! Lentil soup is also the first time I got impressed with this kind of soup. The hint of mint added real special flavor I guess. The hosts and the owner are all very friendly and offered us samples of the appetizers. We’ve been back to this place multiple times since we discovered this hidden gem
Absolutely fantastic place! We found this gem on Saturday night, and can’t wait to go back. The food was fresh and delicious. Items were unique, and the service was very friendly. We had a platter with mixed appetizers, the Nomadic Pide (a must- have!), the chicken and lamb kebab, and kunefe for dessert. Each dish was perfectly made- chicken and lamb were tender and juicy; Kunefe was decadent. And their prices are excellent. Will definitely go back!
A phenomenal place for dinner where you absolutely must try their hummus and their various pides. Recommend their mezze combination for the hummus and the dolma as my two favorites and it comes with delicious bread. The pide is served on this nice crispy dough reminiscent of pizza. The owner is also extremely kind and comes around to check in with each table. We tried their kunefe for dessert and it's quite different from other versions and somewhat of an acquired taste. It's rather sweet as it's soaked in a syrup. They have a smaller dining area inside but a nice patio on the street for outdoor dining!
The food was amazing, and the owner was so full of life, personality, and generosity. We felt so welcomed there. We had one of their Pides, and it was so delicious. The crust, especially, was perfection.
What a lovely find in Redwood City! The decor is a bit basic but there is an outside dining area which looks very nice.We had the large mezze platter and chicken kebab. Very delicious. The owner/chef was very kind and helped with the selection of gluten free options.
We liked the food. It was quality and delicious. Owner was a great person with a lot attention. Definitely will be back to have lahmacun
Delicious dolma appetizer and smoky often kebab. Relaxed and sparse atmosphere but it did not detract from the food. Service is excellent with friendly and welcoming staff.
Those Stellar ratings... I see what the hype is all about. I was a bit skeptical about the stellar ratings. It looks like it was earned justifiably so... We walked past here a couple times and thought we should give this place a try. Well this was the weekend it happened. Nomadic Kitchen is a Turkish restaurant churning out some tasty food. A mid size fast causal small business with a decent amount of seating inside. It's in downtown RWC, so embrace the challenge of parking. lol #TurkishEats: ~ MEZZE: Mezze Combination - 4.5/5 Just about everything was excellent. I could have sworn we ordered the smaller of the two combination, but we end up getting the bigger combination. Oh well, no complaints. We got to try a goo a majority of the messie menu. ~ PIDES: Nomadic Pide - 5/5 Apparently according to comments from my fellow Yelpers, this was a must try it. So we gave it a try, absolutely no regrets; like a fancy craft Pizza / Flatbread. Best way I can describe it, since I don't know what a Pide is...delish! ~ ENTREES: Kofte kebab - 5/5 This was one of the best kabobs I've had stateside in a while. The meat was tender and full of flavor. The Entrees come with rice, salad and a basket of bread. Unbeatable value for some delish food. ~ basket of bread - 4.5/5 delish! I think this is made in house, and if it isn't I want to know where they buy the bread! I'll be a regular there... Service was good, all the food came out at a decent time. We got a chance to me Hasan, the owner and chef. Nice guy, very friendly. Great experience... I'll definitely be back!
Amazing authentic Turkish food. The star of the show is definitely the beef kebab - so tender and juicy and flavorful - I have no idea how he does it. Combined with other authentic dishes and drinks - like Turkish coffee and tea - highly recommended for a taste of Turkey without having to go to Istanbul!!!
Friendly service. Delicious food. The cucumber salad was such a treat. Way more than expected. And the kofte kebab were fresh and juicy. Generous portions at a reasonable price. Will definitely come back!
Best Turkish food I’ve had so far! We ordered the mezze combo, chicken plate, and falafel plate — everything was delicious. Friendly owner and fast service.
The food is outstanding!! I feel that the food is not any less delicious than Mazra. It feels even healthier. Very impressed and underrated. My only little suggestion is to change the design of the entrance and make it a bit modern and polished. People would flock to this place! It’s in a nice location. Great service. Just need a bit of exterior update can give a much better vibe. Interior was great and everything else was amazing!
Absolutely run—don’t walk—to this gem of a restaurant! If you’ve ever longed for the true taste of Turkey, this is it. The moment you walk in, you're transported straight to a cozy eatery in Istanbul or a seaside town in the Aegean. The meze plate alone is worth the trip—vibrant, fresh, bursting with flavor, and served with pide bread so authentic and perfectly baked, you’ll want to cry tears of joy. But wait—you must try the Karadeniz pide. It's next level. I’ve had pide across Turkey, and dare I say—even in the Black Sea region—it wasn’t this good. This chef is a master. No shortcuts. Everything is crafted with passion, precision, and pride. And don’t leave without experiencing katmer—crisp, buttery, pistachio-loaded heaven—and washing it all down with a steaming glass of Turkish tea or the bold richness of Turkish coffee served just right. The owner and team are incredibly welcoming, with warm smiles and lightning-fast service. Honestly, this place is a treasure. We’re coming back every chance we get—and you should too. HIGHLY recommend!
Nomadic Kitchen is a gem for anyone craving authentic Turkish food. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel like you’ve been invited into someone’s home—warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to see you. Every dish I’ve tried here has been bursting with flavor and made with obvious care. The portions are generous (read: come hungry), and the food is as comforting as it is satisfying. The only hiccup? They don’t clear tables between courses. Since everything comes out on large, beautiful plates, you’ll find yourself stacking and shuffling dishes around if you order dessert. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note. If you’re after hearty, delicious Turkish food served with kindness, Nomadic Kitchen is absolutely worth the visit—just be ready to make a little room on the table yourself.
This place feels underrated—don’t sleep on it! We walked in and were immediately welcomed with warm and friendly service. We only tried the Turkish coffee and a dessert this time, but both were great. We’re definitely planning to come back to try the food!
Super delicious food and the host was amazing. Highly recommend this place for Turkish food.
Super tasty food and amazing service!! The mezze with the house bread is unbelievable. My favorites from the mezze were the pink lady (red cabbage + labneh) and the cucumbers which were pickled in a bit of pomegranate molasses. The kunefe for dessert was also rich and delicious. Will definitely be back!
I Always have such a pleasant experience visiting here. I love coming here for brunch. Start with their amazing mezze platter. Comes with a range of different dips and salad. So many unique flavors and ingredients! Comes with a bread basket. The lahmacun was another favorite, comes with a side of salad. We also tried a few of the pides. All dishes are easily shareable, we had it all family style. The waiters and owner are always so welcoming. Don’t forgot to order a cup of tea to complement your delicious meal!
Great place. Great food. Lahmacun and everything else is very delicious. The staff is very friendly.
I love this place so much and wish I could eat here everyday! The food is tender, flavorful, juicy and beautiful! The hummus is the best I have ever had. If you get the Mezze Combination plate, get the fries and put some of the mezzes on the fries and have your mind blown. The beef kebab is phenomenal, but all the kebabs are amazing!!! Also, the service is great and the owner is wonderful. I am excited for the day I get to go back.
The food was amazing! As two vegetarians, we’re used to reviews praising falafel that turns out to be mediocre. This place is the real deal - best falafel I’ve had this decade! We ordered the hummus mezze and the man (the owner?) also brought us free samples of four other mezze to try. He was extremely friendly and welcoming. We will be back!

Amazing food. We tried meme platter and each meze was better than the next. We also got two pides and they were likely the best dishes on the menu. The kebabs were also tasty, köfte was well prepared and tasty. The staff is also amazingly nice and attentive.
Super delicious food and the host was amazing. Highly recommend this place for Turkish food.

Exceptional food! Many options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike, and very attentive service. Also wonderful to eat outside on the no-car street! Try the appetizer sampler platter: 10/10.
Great place. Great food. Lahmacun and everything else is very delicious. The staff is very friendly.
Excelllent chicken kabob and lentil soup. Desert was a fresh cooked crepe-like thing with pistachios - super tasty. Hummus was very fresh but a little bit strong for my taste, but comes with a lot of little sample side sauces. Overall excellent.
Every time we go, it gets better! The food is truly delicious and different. Last time we went, we had Nomadic pide (thin, crispy crust around spinach and cheese) and and Black Sea pide - both were extremely flavorful and just perfect. The owner is welcoming and very attentive. One of our favorites in RWC.
This is a fantastic place. If you are looking for the best Turkish food then this is the place you are looking for. You won't regret eating here. Great value and large portions. We started with the large mixed mezze combo. Followed up with Lahmacun - a real joy. Eat anything from the pides but it's all good. The rice pudding and Kunefe are a fantastic way to finish. Go here you won't regret it.

Decent. Nothing mind blowing. Ordered the lamb kebab plate $20 to go. 7 pieces of meat, white rice, salad, and bread. Meat was decent quality, just 1 piece was too chewy to eat. Wasn't expecting the rice to be plain white rice, but that's ok. Salad was fresh and lightly dressed. Bread was probably the best thing lol. Can tell it's fresh and homemade. Reasonable portions and fair prices. Little restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Nice staff
Pros: delicious falafel that was fresh, hot, crispy outside, tender inside. I loved the salad too it was a nice mix of different veggies with a very light vinaigrette. The lamb was very tasty and pretty tender. Bread delicious and served warm. Service was friendly. Cons: service was initially neglectful, we were seated then asked to move to another table to make room for a larger group that just arrived. Then the larger group was waited on before us and after quote a long time I had to start waiving people down to please take our order. The noise level is intense for such a small place, they need sound dampening like carpet or acoustic panels, please! Lastly I didn't really care for the hummus. I make my own regularly in a traditional style and have eaten hummus in a dozen countries including Turkey and this one was a bit strangely flavored not sure what was up with it.
I tried the lahmacun and it was excellent. I think this restaurant has the potential to become very successful because the ingredients are fresh and the service is great. They could improve the space and the presentation of the menu to better showcase Turkey’s rich and beautiful culture. Adding photos of Turkish dishes and traditional crafts would make the restaurant feel more welcoming and full of character. The hospitality and service were outstanding.
Lively and uplifting spot for lunch with sunlight coming through the windows and great service. Meat was slightly on the salty side for me but the flavors were lovely and the fresh soft bread that you get on the side is a nice touch. I showed up on a whim without activities to entertain the kids and thankfully they had some crayons that the kids could color with.

The mezze platter was good. Wasn’t impressed by anything else. We had a reservation and yet no one was there to seat us. After waiting for 5 minutes at the door, we found someone who asked us sit at Table 19, a back corner table. Service was so poor that I had to walk back to the counter to ask for menus and water. They only provided table mats for 2 people at first and we had to ask for 2 more sets as we were a table of 4. No one came to take our order for a while and only showed up after we tried to get their attention. One of the 2 mezze platters came first and they didn’t get the bread basket for the next 5-10 minutes until we asked someone for it. The same story repeated for the next mezze platter. Would not recommend, specially on busy weekend nights
Love how everything is prepared fresh. I especially liked the kunefe - which is not easy to make. Had the beef kebab which was very tasty and not dry at all. I just would have probably preferred to have it cooked well done. Good authentic Turkish food that’s reasonably priced. Worth a try if you want to try something different. Great way to re-live that trip to Istanbul from way back when if you can’t actually go there.
Went for dinner on a Saturday night. It was a little busy but not over the top. The food was standard, not bad or amazing. But the service was pretty poor. The waitress that sat us never did not bring out menus or come over to take our order and ignored us when we tried to flag her down. They also forgot to bring some of our food, and never really came over to check up on us.
Chicken kebab was dry and overcooked, Hummus and tzatziki are below average, and the baba ghanoush is terrible. The service is actually very good, but not good enough to redeem it unfortunately. I won’t be going back, especially as Mazra is across the street. Also, if management reads this, if someone orders a side of fries then please don’t bring it out 20 minutes before the entree. It’s a side not a starter!
